2014 Log

Every year I keep a record of how I am doing so that I can make sure that I am meeting my goals. I talked about how I think about and set these on my Goals page.

After looking over how I reached my goals the past couple of years I have decided to put up some very challenging marks to hit for this year. I am using the highest levels I achieved over the past two years to set as my goals to try to meet for this year. I will also continue to track walking/riding over driving and exceed that by a specific margin this year. Of course this will not cover every moment I am in a vehicle but I do intend to try and exceed every mile that I normally drive (typically alone) with a mile of walking or riding.

Because I have set my goals so high this year I will be saying that I beat a goal if I achieve 110% of that goal in a month rather than the previous achievement mark of 150%.

So:

  • Minimum Goal: 2,014 combined miles
  • Realistic Goal: 3,000 combined miles
  • High Goal: 3,500 combined miles
  • Driving Goal: Walk & Ride 1,000 more miles than I drive
  • Stretch Goal: Walk 2,014 miles

Additional Goal: 100 words per day

  • 5/31 - 1,000 biking
  • 6/11 - 2,014 total walking and riding
  • 6/20 - 1,000 walking
  • 7/20 - 2,500 total walking and riding
  • 8/8 - 1,400 Realistic Biking Goal Met
  • 8/25 - 1,500 biking
  • 8/29 - 1,514 High Biking Goal Met
  • 9/10 - 3,014 total walking and riding
  • 9/13 - 1,500 walking
  • 10/13 - 1,700 biking
  • 10/18 - 1,700 walking
  • 11/12 - 1,900 biking
  • 11/23 - 1,900 walking
  • 12/14 - 2,000 walking
