GM: Once you Learn the spell of course you can make as many copies as you want

MadamePsychosis: one is a priest spell and the mage spells start at 7th or 8th level

GM: So you can copy two of them for future use

MadamePsychosis: she is at 6th level spells and would need 1M XP to get to 7th level spells

GM: and as always you can use a spell book as a scroll to cast a spell

GM: it just erases the spell from the book (this one is special so you are not sure what happens) but if Howard were to use Branwyn's spell book that way it would disapear

GM: Also agreeing that Branwyn would do what she can to keep/capture any spell from this book she can

LemonyLemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Yeah, I have a hard time planning because nothing happens the way I expect. I rely on the experienced members to pack whatever physical things we need, then I do my best with my spells when the time arises

GM: Once someone (Jennevive or ??) uses a scroll to open a portal to Hell, someone has to help guard against those things comeing out to invade the Inn, and the Estate

MadamePsychosis: all of these spells are contigent on us knowing the names of the creatures - even banishment

GM: and so Fives becomes valuable grins

GM: There are generic names for low level devils

GM: Higher level, more powerful have their own unique names

MadamePsychosis: but you can only do stuff like banish on this plane

GM: Which is why Jenn and Branwyn are trying to lure them here

Branwyn: This spell can send an extraplanar creature back to its own plane of existence. The spell fails against entities of demigod status or greater, but their servants or minions can be abjured. If the creature has a specific (proper) name, it must be known and used. Any magic resistance of the subject must be overcome, or the spell fails. The priest has a 50% chance of success (a roll of 11 or better on 1d20). The roll is adjusted by the difference in level or Hit Dice between the caster and the creature being abjured; the number needed is decreased if the priest has more Hit Dice and increased if the creature has more Hit Dice. If the spell is successful, the creature is instantly hurled back to its own plane. The affected creature must survive a system shock check. If the creature does not have a Constitution score, the required roll is 70% + 2%/Hit Die or level. The caster has no control over where in the creature's plane the abjured creature arrives.
