LemonyLemon: My first thought was druid, but Carissa said there are no druids in this part of the world, so I'm not really committed to anything right now. Not particularly interested in being a sneaky person, but everything else would be fine with me

GM: there are no druids, there are Druids with a capital D but then human sacrifice, etc. so yeah not a good choice

GM: Especially here on Boriquen, you would have to hide your religious practices, etc.

LemonyLemon: I just want animal friends that aren't circus boars lol

LemonyLemon: I was like oh man, sea creature friends would be awesome! was literally the only thought I put into it

Master TMO: What types of societies are available? Is it all civilized, are there uncivilized, nonhuman enclaves, etc?

GM: Depending on how your dice are you could be a Fighter, a Ranger, or a Paladin

GM: You are all from Civilized society but there are uncivilized Mountain Men up in the mountains that are strangers

Master TMO: oh, and are you expecting the PCs to all already know each other and be a group, or do you have a Session 0 planned?

GM: These are our session zeroes

GM: so yes everyone will know each other or OF each other

GM: and the first story arc is what will bond everyone together

GM: and also want to point out that Boriquen is 100 miles across, so 20,000 miles of coastline, Mountains in the middle with possible snow sometimes, caves, etc. so lots of things to do here on this island, ..... then 20 other islands in the local area as well

I used to have recurring nightmares about an orange monster with a hammerhead shark style head but an accordion style neck, and when I would try to hide under cars from it, my neck would also turn into an accordion and the car on top of me would just be bopping up and down and swaying

GM: As always we have gone with the idea of the "fighter who thinks they are a ranger" before

GM: but I do want to do what we can to create characters that you enjoy

springdew (Dunno Yet): Well, there's two versions. The one I was looking at required 13 in four different stats

GM: without just handing out everything

GM: To become a bard, a character must have a Dexterity of 12 or more, an Intelligence of 13 or more, and a Charisma of 15 or more.

GM: That is the base line

Dunno Yet: with the +2 i can make 13 in three stats only with a deficit of 5

Ok new question... how do I change the stats?

GM: As Lemon said, priest spells are coming, just not in the next few months of real time

Levi Reed: Strength is how good you are at hitting stuff, con is how good you are at getting hit and not dying, agility is how good you are at getting out of tricky situations, intelligence is your smarts, wisdom is your gut instinct, and charisma is how cute everyone thinks you are. Correct me if I'm wrong

Emilia is a cleric of the Keldorian faith, spending her life on ships and missions. She met Troy Barlett, at a younger age, the self-proclaimed tavern wench (barkeeper or just worker?). They fell in love and had a daughter (Virginia) and a son (Leo) with him. But as time passed, and Emilia kept to her ships, distances had them amicably drift apart. In those years, Troy met the handsome Rocco who readily took in Virginia and Leo as his own. While Leo is her direct blood brother, Virginia has an assortment of half-siblings and step-siblings, many she's sure she's yet to meet given her father's promiscuous encounters before settling down with Rocco. At the least, she's recently been building her relationship with one known half-sister, Gloria. Although she rarely hears from her mother, Virginia inherited her loves of the seas while her father taught her openmindedness. At a young age, while hanging out at the docks, she thought she heard a high-pitch screeching. The aquatic tongue was one she was still desperately trying to learn, but she coul detect the obvious distress. Upon investigation, she discovered an incoming ship trying to anchor in the reefs as it waited to dock. Rather than wait for diplomacy, she jumped into the water and cut the anchor free, doing her best to tug it somewhere less destructive. Jia-Jie, a ranger looking forward to retirement, who still found herself taking easier jobs to pay the bills, watched, impressed, and took Virginia under her wing. Although Vee still doesn't know what brought Jia-Jie to their island, she learned much under her tutelage.

Levi Reed: So Levi is the youngest of four. Family of fishing people. Three older sisters. They're taking over the family business and totally immasculating him. But zero interest in that stinky life anyway, plus he's not about to be bossed around by his sisters for the rest of his life, even if his parents so desperately want the family name to be passed down with the family business, so he goes and hangs out in the woods, then trades whatever he hunts for food and drinks at the inn/tavern, because that's way easier than working for a living, plus he can pick up cute guys that way. Ok yeah, jokes on his parents, he's not carrying on the family line anyway.

MeStrong: Many jokes were told about how my father must've been a whale, and my a mother a creature that fornicates with whales. It should of been a joke told once, given I shadowed over them, but it was told over and over all the way through to my manhood years. Still, they always found a way to appreciate my strength. It was during my manhood years that I learned the truth. That my mother wasn't my mother, and that my father wasn't my father, although I always knew that because they met when I was 5. She said one day she simply heard a cry by the frozen river in the dead of winter. At first she ignored it, thinking it a baby steer or something, but apparently I persisted. Jericho: Jericho hails from a long line of smugglers, and none of them trusted him because he chose to believe the best in people. In fact, he was kept so in the dark, he mostly thought he was helping to run an oddly profitiable and legitimate shipping business. However, when his mother died, the family trade eventually turned to more lethal) forms of Piracy as his more psychotic brother took the reings of the family business. Jericho finally saw the writing on the wall when in a fit of rage with a "business partner" his brother gutted the woman and had her intestines spill on Jerichos feet. Jericho claims he is a pascifist, but finds creative ways to work around that framework, using tricks of language to infer he dislikes violence, but really just want's to make money, be left alone, and ponder the meaning of Locrin's ways. Ironcially enough, Jericho never intended to be a priest, but on the night he fled his families island, he found an odd glowing note, telling him the gaurds shift schedule and a line that said "Called to serve, Locrin awaits." He mostly is like the waves, riding them as he pleases, and making money. He has been saving for many years to purchase a ship and crew for medical healing from Island to island as it's own business. Jericho isn't afraid to fight, but dislikes it, and actively avoids confrontrations when he can help it. He isnt the smartest, but he understand this about himself and actively finds ways to educate himself to shore up those weaknesses. His family certainly thought he lacked a few screws, but he also chose to see the best in them. So, more fool them.

GM: Borinquen By far the largest island in the group of islands near Seagate there are several deep harbors that cater to both merchants and those who skirt the rules in making their ways around the islands. With a hundred mile width there are more than 20,000 miles of coastline around Borinquen. The mountains in the center of the island have been known to have snow on their peaks. There are several deep water lakes that are feed by mountain streams and lead to rivers that drain away to the coasts. The southwestern coast line has steep cliffs while the eastern shoreline has wide sandy beaches and excellent deep sea fishing in the currents that sweep past. Locations Bahia Harbor Crash Boat Cove The Rusty Pelican is a reputable inn on the southeastern corner of the island just off of the Bahia harbor. It is run by a retired halfling who was a paladin in the Mieszecz Group of islands. The Busty Pelican (large hanging sign of a pelican with a womans breasts) is a brothel a couple of blocks away. On the northwest coast of the island is the large town of Achild with a small hamlet of Lemonshire to the west along the coast where some fisherpeople have established the messier fishworks. Up in the hills from Lemonshire the temple of Agowah controls over 5,000 acres of sugar cane fields. Pescal, (insert long title here) is the priest in charge of the temple. Achild has a small library controlled by an old mage, she is strict with who can borrow any materials, and would rather they sit in front of her and read so she can make sure that they are treating the materials with respect. Eternal Pearl is a small thorp in the hills east of Lemonshire, known for their goats and the hair they gather from them. The goats and sheep are all marked with special colors to indicate which family they belong to for the shepherds to keep track. A small island half a mile off of the coast from Achild is Aida. A small enclave there works hard to use the gifts of the sea as best they can.

MeLange: Despite his large size and semi-Herculean strength, Melange was not great at making friends. His Mother, even, simply put up with him, registering his existing without celebration. While perhaps emotionally negligent as a Mother, she did have something, and that was collected tales of underlife mythology. In there, MeLange could find peace, even connection. The tales of Gods so strong and sleek, so smart and impactful, swept him away. As the tales came to an end, the thirst contnued. MeLange knew the trip to the library was neither easy nor cheap. He remembered the tale of the god cursed to forever push a sea urchin with his foot and a seagull on his back, and thought he had it easy. The first day at the library was a moment he got stuck in... At least until he met the librarian. She was oddly big and attractive for a female, MeLange had never met a librarian before. Her initial attitude was hesistant, rude even. Jokes about his size, the smell of fish, and ignorance of men. Still, MeLange was persistent, sticky, difficult to remove. Day after day he showed, any time he wasn't needed for tasks of strength, he'd be found in the library between books, the Librarian ever with her watchful eye. Little by little, without a speck of magin, the Librarian Mage's walls began to lower, and she begain to take an interest in the child. She saw his honesty, his naivete, his strength. She saw the many hard days that were inevitable to come, and realized what this moment truly was. She decided, then, to take him under her wing, to teach him what he would need to survive, how to use his strength and his smarts, his darn garn stick toit-tiveness. She would do this because this child clearly had nobody else, and she was kind of bored.
