So before leaving Seagate to get to Angler Island
Vee Barlett: takes in the fashion scene before leaving
Hieroman of Glybur: I was wondering Vee
Hieroman of Glybur: Should I continue with you? or should I try to find another ship sailing towards the Island Kingdoms
Hieroman of Glybur: there are lots of things to explore there
Rothuss Carder: is sitting balanced on the front prow spar, watching back into the town.
Vee Barlett: Why you askin' me?
Hieroman of Glybur: You are the Captain
Hieroman of Glybur: You know where you are sailing towards
Hieroman of Glybur: If you are not heading that way then maybe I should look at other options
Vee Barlett: Yeah and yous here 'cause Zora and Glimbs asked you. Ya know I'm headed to Anglers then back to Osterhold so it up to you.
Hieroman of Glybur: I am wondering if I should go to Borinquen first, then the pyramids, or find a way there first
Hieroman of Glybur: Glimber and Zora are doing well, they are a good fit
Vee Barlett shrugs
Vee Barlett: It yer life to decide.
Hieroman of Glybur: How long are you going to be in Angler Island?
Vee Barlett: Maybe a few days. Depends how long it take Julia to get settled. Then gonna head back to Osterhold. And then do whatever the church said they got me doin' which soundin' like will keep me on Borinquen for a bit.
Vee Barlett: Pyramids sound dry and dusty so don't be lookin' at me to take you there.
Hieroman of Glybur: and full of ancient treasure, ancient even to those like me
Vee Barlett: Treasure be better down where it's wetter.
Vee Barlett: Ya know, under da sea.
Hieroman of Glybur: laughs
Hieroman of Glybur: There are those of my kind who do live under the sea
Hieroman of Glybur: I have met them before,
Vee Barlett: Oh? What they like? Just as snobby?
Hieroman of Glybur: I am not as interested in being down there as they are
Vee Barlett: laughs
Hieroman of Glybur: I would think you might like them, if you talk to them they might like you, but they are not often near the surface
Vee Barlett: And yet ya got a captain wantin' to breathe underwater.
Hieroman of Glybur: If you could find a way to drop me off on Borinquen along the way to Angler Island? Not going to Osterhold, just a nice safe beach would be fine
Hieroman of Glybur: That would give me a couple more days here with you,
Hieroman of Glybur: then we could explore different areas
Rothuss Carder: plays a gentle tune on his pipe that carries faintly over the waves from the other end of the ship.
Temperance: twirls her quill idly about as she listens in on the conversation.
Lirtimya: Reading a book
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): Temperance, are you regretting not seeing the Grand Cathedral?
The home/birth place of the Kayugan religion
Seagate is the center of the faith
Temperance: Perhaps a little? It is a place I have yet to see, so I would like to see it at one point. But since I have yet to see it, I am not sure I can say I regret it.
Temperance: Have you seen the Grand Cathedral? What is it like?
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): I always wanted to explore all the channels of the delta and see if I could be the one to find the place
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): I have been here once before, it is a humbling experience
Temperance: raises her brows, slightly intrigued.
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): Services that get subsumed by the tides
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): The entire building being inundated
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): I am surprised that Vee with her obsession on breathing underwater has not spent time learning and trying to join the church
Temperance: That does sound like... a very unique experience.
Temperance: chuckles lightly.
Temperance: Whilst I cannot speak for Vee, she hasn't shown much... er... favor for joining any churches.
Temperance: She is an explorer, a seafarer by heart.
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): Whilst Zora has apparently done great service to the Church and might ask for such things
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): Exploring is a heart felt desire
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): Looking out as the Lady slowly makes her way out of the docks and back into the open sea
Temperance: I suppose so. I'm not sure if I can feel it in my heart yet. But it is nice, to be able to learn things from the different places you go.
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): It does begin to feel like my exploring days are behind me
Rothuss Carder: hops down off the prow beam and back over the body of the ship so that Vee doesn't try to pitch him overboard “by accident” Lirtimya starts to navigate as the ship leaves the port in Seagate and heads to Angler Island.
Lirtimya: [SKILL] Navigation [MOD:INT] (vs. Target 14) [SUCCESS by 9] [d20 = 5]

The group is back on the sea, heading south
Temperance: Does it? I suppose there must be a point where you put the days of exploration behind you. But I always did think that I was exploring and researching, even when I was closer to the Cathedral.
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): I hope that is the case
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): Thank you Temperance
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): Shakes herself
Temperance: smiles lightly.
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): I want to be a strong leader for my new school
Temperance: A new school?
Temperance: brightens considerably at the thought.
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): I suppose your friends would call it a Flock
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): For fishermen it would be a school
Temperance: Ah, I see! I am not sure about leadership, as it isn't my strongest suit.... but I am sure it will turn out well.
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): I have faith
Temperance: There must have been a reason why they wanted you specifically.
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): smiles
Temperance: smiles back lightly as well.
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): It is the edge of the world for some, if you are heading south into the Island Kingdoms, there is only Angler or Gate Post to get to Kedge. Or fight the currents towards the old Island Kingdoms
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): Nothing to the West
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): everyone looking to Borinquen to the East
Temperance: I see. The edge of the world. That sounds almost...
Temperance: attempts to find the right words.
Temperance: Dramatic? Something that requires a bit of musical flourish or effect.
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): Smiles it is Dramatic
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): Borinquen has many more prestigious postings,
Rothuss Carder: looks at his pipe, not sure if it can do 'dramatic'
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): But Angler Island needs guidance
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): It may not be dramatic but it is needed
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): and I will serve them to the best of my ability
Temperance: I am sure you will be a great addition, and that they will be happy to have you.
Temperance: smiles gently.
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): Thank you Temperance
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth): and perhaps when you need a less exciting place to live you will come to Angler as well
Temperance: blinks for a moment and points to herself.
Temperance: Oh, me?
Temperance: smiles lightly.
Temperance: If you're still there, then perhaps. I am not sure if I know much about fishing and the like, but it sounds like something I'd like to learn.
Sailing south, the group decides to drop off Hieroman at Lirtimya’s home island of Aida.
So roughly 68 miles to Aida island, where Lirt grew up

The last leg of the trip starts well, but then …
Rose and gold vestiges of the day paint the sky like the living interior of a mother-of-pearl oyster shell. The vivid colors contrast starkly with the endless plane of dark water surrounding your craft. Blue edged clouds pile towards the roof of the sky in magnificent thunderheads to the north, but their threat is still minimal and far-off.
As a cool evening breeze blows in off the waves, redolent with sea and salt, a cry goes up from Temperance, “Man overboard!” A glance in the direction of: the wildly pointing finger of the lookout confirms this message; a humanoid figure does indeed struggle weakly in the wine-dark waves near the bow of the ship. It cries out a thin wail of supplication as the undisputable silhouette of a shark's fin breaks the surface of the water, moving toward the struggling figure with lethal speed.
The freeboard of the ship (the height of the ship's side above water) is about 10 feet. There is a dangling rope ladder thrown over the side of the ship, but the figure (closer scrutiny reveals it to resemble a female sea elf) is at least 30 feet from the ladder and looks to be at the end of her strength.
Lirtimya: [SKILL] Observation [MOD:INT] (vs. Target 16) [SUCCESS by 1] [d20 = 15]

Inv Zora Polasis: We need to save her
Rothuss Carder: drops his pipe and sword on the deck and pulls out his dagger and prepares to dive overboard.
Lirtimya): Tries to cantrip lights to distract sharks
Lirtimya: [SKILL] Cantrip [MOD:INT] (vs. Target 14) [FAILURE by 1] [d20 = 15]

Rothuss Carder jumps overboard and grab ahold of the elf.
Glimber Silvernose: looks over the railing waiting in case they need help
Shark 3 tries to attack the elf but misses her.
Shark 2 attacks the elf and damages her.
Vee Barlett: points at the elf then the rope then goes back to attacking the shark.
Vee Barlett attacks Shark 1 with her Tridents moderately wounding it.
The Elf tried to grab the rope but missed it. Rothuss has a hold of her though.
Vee Barlett: Grab the rope!
Lirtimya begins pulling on the rope.

Rothuss Carder: [CHECK] Wisdom (vs. Target 9) [FAILURE by 9] [d20 = 18]
Vee Barlett: Someone give me a hand. yeah?
Inv Zora Polasis: Help me get Vee up!
Rothuss Carder: reaches over the side to try and grab Vee's arm, and his whole body jerks massively due to the spell overload, and tries to send him over the side into the sea.
Rothuss Carder: [CHECK] Dexterity (vs. Target 14) [SUCCESS by 11] [d20 = 3]
Rothuss Carder: manages to keep himself on the deck.

So the situation is that Roth has the Elf on the deck, they are safe so far, Vee is clinging to the side of the ship, hanging on a bit of the side but unable to pull herself back up this round.
Glimber reaches out as far as he can and tries to grab ahold of Vee.

Vee Barlett: Damn! You strong for a little guy! Thanks, Glimbs!
Glimber Silvernose: falls backwards a bit
Glimber Silvernose: nods and grins
Vee Barlett: stands up and shakes off the water
Rothuss Carder: carefully holds onto the railing with both hands, moving as slowly as he can as he looks around.
Vee Barlett: Well that was fun. So you good elf.... lady? Person?
The group finds the sea elf addled and confused;
Vee Barlett: Huh, thinkin' she needs ya Tempe. And maybe Julia?
Glimber Silvernose : [Translation] You are safe now
Elf: ”My name is Museio, and I thank you for your aid. My strength is nearly drained. I am a message-bearer; it is my sworn duty to deliver messages between the various sea elf communities.
Vee Barlett: Well ya are still bleedin' so ya...
Temperance: waits for a good time to do her healing spells.
Vee Barlett: Want priestess to heal ya up?
Rothuss Carder: closes his eyes and concentrates, slowly relaxing every muscle in turn, and stops vibrating wildly.
Elf: ”It was my poor luck to be taking advantage of the swift Moray Current to speed a message to the north when I noticed a band of the hated sahuagin at the periphery of my sight, near yonder island.
Vee Barlett: Funny way to speak.
It is a very weird form, she is gasping through her gills
Glimber Silvernose: doesn't understand any of it
Elf: ”Curse me to the Maelstrom, I tried to get close enough to spy on the sahuagin; they normally do not hunt these waters. Taking advantage of a stand of seaweed, I closed the distance sufficiently to see and hear a strange conversation between an elf-sized sea devil and an overlarge, four-armed sahuagin lord such as I had heard tales of but never seen before; its large size indicates its many years of evil life.
Glimber Silvernose: Huh?
Elf: gasping
Vee Barlett: Someone needs to teach her to, yah know, not spill her life story minute she can speak. People can use it against ya.
Elf: Ahhh
Glimber Silvernose: Want some water?
Temperance: An elf-sized sea devil?
Elf: heaves a
Vee Barlett: Right okay but uh,,, more important... do ya need healin'?
Vee Barlett: Yer life story only matters if, you know, yous alive.
Elf: They were ... huuuuuusss... were talking in the language of the sea
Vee Barlett : [Translation] You speak it?
Elf : [Translation] Ayy ... cough cough... Aye
Rothuss Carder: moves cautiously over to grab a bucket.
Elf: ”The smaller sahuagin queried the larger in its disgusting, shark-like language, 'And what of the final goal?'
Vee Barlett: nods
Elf: ”The larger creature responded, 'As the Deep Mother commands, The Stone Which Abides shall be returned to the Throne of Teeth.'
Elf: ”Then my luck ran out, and I was sighted by the smaller sahuagin; his lightning-quick response put a barbed bolt in me before I could much more than blink. Thank the Dolphin Goddess, I lost them in the seaweed almost immediately, but their shark servants must have been put on my blood trail ... If I hadn't received your aid I would be dead now; that bolt took more out of me than I would have thought ... “
Vee Barlett: rubs her eyes as she keeps talking and ignoring her bleeding wounds.
Elf: She grimaces in pain
Vee Barlett: Yer sayin' lots o' things that don't make sense.
Vee Barlett: Except if yer okay or not.
Vee Barlett: Can the priestess tend to ya or do ya need to keep sufferin'?
Elf: Can they?
Temperance: cautiously waves a hand in their direction.
Vee Barlett: If you give her permission, she can try.
Rothuss Carder: dips the bucket in the sea and carefully brings it back over to the sea elf. He holds it out to see if she wants it.
Temperance: I can try my best.
Temperance: Seawater is there if you need it.
She seems weak, drained
Temperance: [CHECK] Wisdom (vs. Target 16) [SUCCESS by 3] [d20 = 13]
Temperance: [CHECK] Intelligence (vs. Target 13) [SUCCESS by 11] [d20 = 2]
Temperance: Excuse me, I need to try something to... confirm it.
Temperance casts Detect Poison on the Elf.
Temp can see that the wound in her side, apparently from the bolt that the Sahuagin hit her with was poisoned
Temperance: You say you were hit with a bolt? The bolt is poisoning you. I may be able to slow it down... but this requires an antidote of some sort.
Temperance: Like when we found Hieroman in the caves.
Elf : [Translation] heaving breath
Vee Barlett: She havin' a hard time breathin' so just go fer it.
Vee Barlett: Unless...
Vee Barlett: JULIA! Can ya cure poison??
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth) : [Translation] Sadly no
Temperance: pauses in her motions.
Julia Fitzenhagen (formerly Axel Palmroth) : [Translation] I cannot stop the spread of that
Vee Barlett : [Translation] You know what that be?
Vee Barlett: No she can't so guess gonna have to slow it fer now.
Temperance: Alright then, no time to waste!
Temperance casts Slow Poison on the Elf.
Temperance: Hopefully that will help you. Since we are not sure what poison is ailing you or what antidote we require to help you....
Vee Barlett: Or where to take ya to get ya help.
Elf: Sighs
Temperance: It would help to have someone check in on her periodically if she is planning to swim back to wherever she needs to go.
Elf: slips into sleep
Vee Barlett: Ya... so...we headin' to Anglers......
Vee Barlett: Guess we still headin' that way then.
Vee Barlett: Someone get her into a bed and keep an eye on her, yeah?
Temperance: She can use my room in the meantime.
Vee Barlett: Off deck as wes get back to sailin'

Slow Poison lasts for 5 hours and about 3 hours in it is evening and you are reaching Angler Island
Angler Island: The island's habitable portion thrusts up from the sea in the cold, wet rock of unassailable sea-cliffs. White mists shroud the heights of the cliffs, cloaking large portions of the island with an air of damp secrecy. To the north, a massive waterfall pours down a cliff face worn concave by centuries of passing water, finally crashing into the ocean in an enduring explosion of fine spray.
A few miles south of the waterfall, the coastline curves inward as the heights of the cliffs drop gradually down to sea level, forming an immense bay in the shape of a half moon. Nestled into the eastern margin of this sheltered bay is a small city, a dense collection of wooden and stone construction clustered most thickly near the edge of the water, growing sparser deeper inland. Three large docks of stone and countless smaller wooden piers stretch out into the calm water of the wide bay from the city's edge, providing stable moorings for hundreds of fishing boats, as well as the odd skiff, cog, or longship.
The southern arm of the bay curves back toward the northern edge, forming a relatively narrow passage into the bay. Perched atop the cliffs on either side of the strait are formidable watch towers of stone, monitoring passage into the bay.
So you are getting into Angler Island on the evening of the 18th and the celebrations are on the 28th
you did get here in time
she is supposed to have her church set up and all ready to go before the celebrations on the 28th
As the Grim Lady pulls close to one of the 100-foot-long, 15-foot-wide stone piers (as directed by the pier warden with signaling torches and shouted directions), a sortie of ten sahuagin attack. Having taken advantage of the their entry into the harbor by secretly swimming beneath their ship, they burst from the water like hideous leaping fish, landing upon the dock with tridents posed for conflict. Simultaneously, five additional sahuagin leap from the water onto the railing of the group's ship in one graceful leap.
