wyjyoon: there were some mixed reviews on goodreads, but i felt it was chill and decided to try it for myself anyway

wyjyoon: that's true! i think i'll like it, though. most of the reviews that talked about the mixed feelings was because they felt it was too chill for them

GM: The withdraw spell gives Temp a chance to "step out of time" sort of and just be herself, but you do not get to ask or get any help

seyfert (Temperance): Oooh you have a spell called IDEA! Which means if you fail a roll when bob says, you can cast it to get that inspiration. Or demand it from him when he doesn't offer it!

seyfert (Temperance): withdraw is good if you need to heal yourself without it "costing" a round

wyjyoon: divination spells were always hard to wrap my head around! but these explanations are really helping me

seyfert (Temperance): Oh! Moment is another good spell for next time we're up against a big baddie. It's not touch and give +4 to attacks essentially (or helps us do whatever action we want to do)

seyfert: Unfortunately there aren't many good divination spells generally available that are 1st or 2nd level spell,

wyjyoon: am taking notes right now :) i will make sure to use it in our next panic attack moment

seyfert: lol I'm happy to go in them more later when we aren't planning things to help your notes

GM: It is good to know there are options as you transport the statue

seyfert: You could maybe use Idea or ask this church if they have something you can borrow to do Augury or.... we just go and trust the winds

seyfert (Temperance): with the thought something could easily go wrong, it may also be worth keeping Thought Capture in mind. If these shark dudes won't talk, steal their thoughts to find out what they know, instead

GM: So "should we go south or north" in a dungeon yes here might not be so good

GM: BUT "should we follow the advice of Julia on which way to travel" might work

seyfert (Vee Barlett): yes this is a trick spell but this is the perfect place to learn it

Vee Barlett: You ask a single question BUT the DM can read it however he wants. Like a legal document. As Lisa said, safe is a subjective word choice. Safe from shark dudes" is a little more direct.

seyfert (Vee Barlett): Or, like Bob said, that question gives a bit more for which direction by having it there aready "is julia's advice best"

seyfert (Vee Barlett): yes specific is key

wyjyoon (Temperance): so can i ask something like "are we going to be safe from sahuagin if we go south and go east towards...?" etc?

seyfert (Vee Barlett): but ultimate, what I found, is to try not to agonize too much because everyone will have a different idea how to ask it

GM: and if you are safe over the next few rounds it would work but an hour later WHAM

seyfert (Vee Barlett): but asking about Julia's advice and if it is best for us might mean yes less danger that path

seyfert (Vee Barlett): I would say don't overthink it this casting but this is good to know for later to you can refine and figure out how to ask
