[BOB] and welcome John
[BOB (to GM only)] ] Ankheg #1 moved 48'07".
[Lisa] so I was going to taste potions and read labels this morning before we go out
[temp John] BArd, we don't need no stinking bard
[Lisa] Hi John
[temp John] Hellos all
[BOB] legend lore could be very handy for you gys
[BOB] guys
[temp John] gals
[Kaz] Heya John
[temp John] so did we sleep throguh the night?
[BOB] yes
[BOB] and healed
[BOB] at least the natural kind
[BOB] and Kaz you saw my notes on the party pack right?
[BOB] what did you want to actually carry your stuff around in? I did not want to put that in or how many actual coins you were carrying
[Lisa] I am away from the keyboard.
[temp John] the skull of a giant
[BOB] lol
[temp John] that wold be most impressive
[BOB] brb need drinks
[BOB] I am away from the keyboard.
[Kaz] I don't know, I don't think it's a question for just me
[Kaz] We all took backpacks and belt pouches and so on
[temp John] oh well you are the clear leader and the one most likly carrying said skull
[temp John] you have the most influence
[Kaz] On my head? What perfect posture I must have!
[Lisa] I am back at the keyboard.
[Kaz] (most influence = ability to forcefully batter everyone else until they do what I say)
[BOB] I am back at the keyboard.

[Kaz] the majority of the coins are in the chest. While I'm glad to carry it when need be, it doesn't need to go everywhere we go.
[BOB] exactly
[temp John] sure sure
[Kaz] We could probably buy another chest from the widow and not have to pay through the nose for it. It's not like they're in use, most of them.
[temp John] i have not seen many stores in the area
[Lisa] I am away from the keyboard.
[BOB] it is just that there is a small problem of who is carrying the party pack when you get turned to stone :)
[BOB] whistles inocently
[Lisa] I am back at the keyboard.
[temp John] ho ever it is drops it
[temp John] before turning
[temp John] I would
[BOB] if you are making the choice to turn to stone sure, but when you stumble around the corner and there is the medusa feeding her hair?
[temp John] we just say, one sec please
[BOB] how about that job, Hair dresser for a Medusa
[Kaz] Good for a blind person, I'd say

[BOB] It is noted on the Jistille Estates what the mist is like there
[BOB] and that is a good point john, we shoudl have a temp modifier for that as well
[temp John] funny, I needed one more in light mist and i rlled one more
[temp John] I just made a second expression
[temp John] Lisa, Kaz, what do you think of my priest of Retaw?
[BOB] I did have another alternative for you John
[Lisa] Tis interesting
[temp John] god? or power?
[BOB] if you were not thinking long term you could pick to worship a Saint or a minor god
[Lisa] We could get our tarot cards read on regular basis
[BOB] would not be good for a Player Character because you would be level limited
[temp John] my origianl priest of fate was limited - especialy long term
[Kaz] Isn't the priest of Retaw meant to be a PC?
[temp John] but I was under the impression you did not want a priest with too few spheres
[BOB] on the Gods page explains what the various limits per type are
[Kaz] My question - and I think it's a valid question - is this. Don't we have enough clerics?
[Lisa] lol
[temp John] well...
[Lisa] That was my first reaction
[temp John] We only have two that heal as far as I know
[temp John] and neither of us are full time
[temp John] and if Miranda was off training, the party would have no real healer
[temp John] and my next priest will be a bit more of a fighter.action person
[temp John] if the party want a straght fighter, I could do that
[BOB] that would be good
[temp John] he will still worship a god
[BOB] or you could be the Bard
[Kaz] I don't think it's right to tell you what to play, John. If you want to do your Priest of Retaw, then go for it! I'm just saying, are we a rounded enough party?
[temp John] no, we need a fighter
[BOB] and Mike just walked in
[temp John] of fighter type
[temp John] maybe I should roll and see what I have to work with
[BOB] you could do that
[temp John] CHonny Hero of Fate
[BOB] did you have any suggestions for LIsa on the potions?
[temp John] 4d6 for henchmen still right, just no d6?
[temp John] d4?
[BOB] correct
[Kaz] Lisa, you're doing that read languages thing on the two gremlin potions, right?
[Lisa] yes
[Kaz] I'm still iffy on tasting the potions from the temple cabinet.
[Lisa] and will stop by the court mage and see if I can avoid tasting the others
[Lisa] will be fun
[Kaz] They were locked in with the evil stuff, so they may be baaaaad potions.
[temp John] (4d6) [4d6=6,6,5,5] 22
[Kaz] Ooh!! Yes, let's taunt the court mage!!
[BOB] you have a Green Potion and a Blue Potion from the Temple

[temp John] (4d6) [4d6=6,1,3,2] 12
[Kaz] Just for clarification purposes, the colour of the potion doesn't mean anything, does it?
[BOB] correct
[BOB] just to help you keep track of the two different ones
[temp John] (4d6) [4d6=3,5,2,4] 14
[Death] sure it does. the color of the potion determines how it interacts with light on the visible spectrum.
[temp John] spoken like a teacher
[temp John] (4d6) [4d6=5,4,1,5] 15
[Lisa] but which would taste better?
[temp John] to whom?
[Lisa] to me
[Lisa] unless someone else wants to try one
[temp John] oh then the one on the left for sure
[Kaz] well, perhaps we should talk to the court mage, first.
[Lisa] I will
[Kaz] maybe he'll be stupid and try them himself
[Lisa] but if he is uncooperative, I'll do it
[Lisa] lol - doubt it
[temp John] I think we should wait
[Death] i think the comprehend language idea is good.

[BOB] LOL
[Kaz] AND a mage!
[Lisa] thank you
[Kaz] He's a... Jerage!
[Kaz] A Magerk?
[BOB] but if you want an Identify it will cost
[Lisa] I don't
[BOB] and he will not risk himself for your potions
[Lisa] I just want to borrow his lab
[Lisa] he doesn't have to do anything but get out of my way
[BOB] there is a monthly maintenance cost to a lab
[Kaz] I'll be glad to get him out of your way :)
[BOB] you could pay that for him
[Death] i say we kill him.
[Lisa] I'd rather taste them myself that give him anything else
[Kaz] heh. I'm with Mike on this one. :)
[Death] he is now useless to us.
[Kaz] I say we bring him to the place where the guy was turned to stone. Let HIM find out what we're up against.
[Death] he can't train lisa any further. she can even make use of his spellbook.

[BOB] yeap

[BOB (to Lisa only)] and the two labels say: stolen from mage in blue shirt and stolen from mage in grey hat
Branwyn (Lisa)] sighs and looks up
Kristelle (Kaz)] leans forward
[Branwyn (Lisa)] The labels tell us nothing of use
[Branwyn (Lisa)] They were stolen
[Kristelle (Kaz)] What do you mean, nothing of use? What do they say?
[Branwyn (Lisa)] One was stolen from a mage in a blue shirt
[Branwyn (Lisa)] The other from a mage in a grey hat
Kristelle (Kaz)] shakes her head slowly
[Branwyn (Lisa)] Gremlins!
[Kristelle (Kaz)] So THEY - the gremlins - didn't even know what they were.
[Branwyn (Lisa)] Probably not
[Branwyn (Lisa)] They maight have known if the mages were good or evil but I can't tell from the labels
[Kristelle (Kaz)] They might not even have known that.
[Kristelle (Kaz)] The labels say nothing else, then?
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((Bob, what are the sizes of the bottles?))
[Branwyn (Lisa)] Nothing else
[BOB] potion sized
[BOB] meaning any magical liquid
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (lol)
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((/facepalm))
[BOB] grins
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((you made a comment last week about how some held more potion than others.))
[BOB] they fit in your hand
[BOB] it is how powerful a potion is not the size of the container
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((I'm trying to get an idea of the volume of liquid))
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((not trying to guess what they are - that would be futile!))
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (I've heard that before)
[Death] but a bigger container is always good
[BOB] oh man
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((A bigger container does no good if the potion is not properly brewed!))
[BOB] Potions are typically found in ceramic, crystal, glass, or metal flasks or vials (though you can change this, if you want). Flasks and other containers generally contain enough fluid to provide one person with one complete dose to achieve the effects described for each potion below.
[BOB] Potions are typically found in ceramic, crystal, glass, or metal flasks or vials (though you can change this, if you want). Flasks and other containers generally contain enough fluid to provide one person with one complete dose to achieve the effects described for each potion below.
[BOB] Identifying Potions: Generally, potion containers should bear no identifying marks, so the PCs must sample each container to find the nature of the liquid inside. However, even a small taste should suffice to identify a potion in some way. Introduce different sorts of potions, both helpful and harmful, to cause difficulties in identification. In addition, the same type of potion, when created in different labs, might smell, taste, and look differently.
[BOB] there you go
[Branwyn (Lisa)] So I can try one and Indigo can try one to test them before we head out

[Kristelle (Kaz)] Don't make Indigo play the part of guinea pig. I'll test the other one.
[BOB] and your skin seems almost translucent
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (like a vampire?)
[temp John] oooooooh
Kristelle (Kaz)] raises an eyebrow and leans closer to look at Branwyn's hand.
[BOB] no, more like it almost is someplace else
[Kristelle (Kaz)] Hrm, that's odd.
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((like, in another dimension?))
[BOB] that could be, but for some reason it is not taking effect (and where are you? and what blocking problems do you have? hint)
[Branwyn (Lisa)] Maybe we should look again when we get outside
[BOB] cough starts with a M
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((Manicotti?))
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((Manishewitz?))
[temp John] metal?
[Death] minvisibility?
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((lol))
[temp John] Oil of etherialness
[Death] that doesnt' sart with an m
[Death] it'd be moil of etherialness
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((as long as it's not a moyl))
[BOB] ok
[Death] would that make your pecker etherial?
[Death] can you still touch her hand
[Death] or does it feel different?
Kristelle (Kaz)] reaches out to stroke Branwyn's hand.
[BOB] it is still there
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((So, can feel it, but it looks like it's not there.))
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (well that's good I guess. Do I feel he hand normally?)
[Death] minor invisibility
[BOB] no to invisable
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((Is Bran wearing any metal?))
[BOB] yes to feeling normal
[Death] mirror immage
[Death] minor globe of invulnerability
[BOB] and to be clear the M refers to the problem you are having not to the potion
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (my dagger is on me but that's all)
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((that's what I thought you meant, Bob))
[temp John] mage?
[temp John] mamal?
[Death] shrug
[temp John] we can do this all day
[Kristelle (Kaz)] Bran, let's get that dagger off of you. Maybe it doesn't like weapons.
[Branwyn (Lisa)] Anyone else want to try it to see if you get another reaction?
Branwyn (Lisa)] puts dagger on table
[temp John] not I said te little red hen
[Branwyn (Lisa)] ?me looks at hand again
[BOB] still the same
[Kristelle (Kaz)] Maybe try going outside?
[Kristelle (Kaz)] Let's just step outside the door.
Kristelle (Kaz)] opens the door and holds it for Bran.
[BOB] The sun glows dully through the Mist
Branwyn (Lisa)] steps outside and looks again
[BOB] no change
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((it won't work here. It's the Mist that blocks it.))
[Branwyn (Lisa)] Or maybe it needs moonlight. We can try again later
[Kristelle (Kaz)] That may be.
[Death] we know the mist screws up magic
Branwyn (Lisa)] opens grey hat potion and looks at it
Kristelle (Kaz)] goes back into the tower and picks up the bottle stolen from the grey hatted mage.
Kristelle (Kaz)] obviously doesn't type fast enough.
[BOB] grins
[BOB] Will let Lisa test and have Kaz roll the d1000 to find out what this one is
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (drinkable or rubbable?)
[BOB] want to leave some things up to chance for you
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (was going to hand to Kristelle if she wants it)
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((d1000? We adding new dice sizes?))
[BOB] grins, there are a lot of different potions out there
[temp John] (d2345) [1d2345=496] 496
[temp John] computers can make of dice size
[BOB] ok
[BOB] who is trying this one?
[temp John] make up
[temp John] that was not a d1000
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (Kristelle)
Kristelle (Kaz)] takes the bottle, delicately sniffing at it.
[temp John] that was a d2345
[temp John] ::giggling to self::
[BOB] well I took that number
[BOB] and it smells vaguely of nightshade
[temp John] (d21) [1d21=9] 9
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((unpleasant smell?))
[BOB] slightly yes
Kristelle (Kaz)] wrinkles her nose.
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((liquid?))
[BOB] yes, drinkable
[Death] false death
[Death] or poison
[Branwyn (Lisa)] Just stick you finger in and taste. Don't take a lot
Kristelle (Kaz)] gives Branwyn an uncertain look, then raises the bottle and gets a tiny amount on her finger, touching a drop to her tongue.
[BOB] and for a moment Kristelle goes blind
Kristelle (Kaz)] clenches the bottle and gasps
[Kristelle (Kaz)] I can't see!
[BOB] then after a couple of moments it receeds and her vision is restored

[Death] that's stupid
[BOB (to temp John only)] on the base map for you John
[Branwyn (Lisa)] You don't drink it yourself
[temp John] for fighting medusas?
[Kristelle (Kaz)] I guess you could slip it into someone's wine
[Branwyn (Lisa)] You slip it to someone else

[Miranda (temp John)] I guess I thought you were expressing regret
Kristelle (Kaz)] shrugs at Imari.
[Kristelle (Kaz)] I wouldn't know, I have no brothers or sisters.
[Miranda (temp John)] I am so glad your brother died as was planned?
[Imari (Death)] "It was not planned. It just happened."
Kristelle (Kaz)] covers her smile with her hand.
[Imari (Death)] "He was searching for an answer, and he got one. Perhaps not the one he would have preferred, but it was the will of the Bear."
[Miranda (temp John)] I guess you made it sound like Shardik's plan?
[Kristelle (Kaz)] Imari, a healer heals. They seek to prevent death, not welcome it with open arms.
[Imari (Death)] "I remember it because I was given his eyes that I might see the will of the gods as clearly as he did that day."

[Imari (Death)] "It was a thoughtful gift from my parents."
[Imari (Death)] ::nods solemnly::
Kristelle (Kaz)] and has it helped you?
Kristelle (Kaz)] looks over at Branwyn and grimaces.
[Imari (Death)] "I would like to believe so. I know that Partik has not taken away any of his gifts from me."
[Kristelle (Kaz)] I guess that's no more strange than some things the swamp people do.

[Kristelle (Kaz)] I was worried that they wre glass mirrors.
[Medoro (BOB)] he blinks
[Medoro (BOB)] oh no I would never take the Missus looking glass
[Branwyn (Lisa)] I also wanted to ask if you had heard any more from the farmers about the swamp creature?
[Kristelle (Kaz)] Thank goodness, because I'd never want to be responsible for the safety of it!
[Branwyn (Lisa)] The one that supposedly turned the fisherman to stone?
[Medoro (BOB)] No Mistress Branwyn
[Medoro (BOB)] I only heard about the fisherman turned to stone, that was earlier this week
[Imari (Death)] "Are we going after the monster today, or tomorrow?"
[Branwyn (Lisa)] Are these farmers living nearby? Could we speak to them before visiting this swamp?
[Kristelle (Kaz)] And no one saw the actual monster?
[Medoro (BOB)] no farmers Mistress Branwyn
[Medoro (BOB)] was a couple of hunters
[Medoro (BOB)] reported
[Medoro (BOB)] they were out looking for alligator
[Branwyn (Lisa)] Are they nearby to speak with?
[Medoro (BOB)] no, they got their bounties and then left
Branwyn (Lisa)] frowns and sighs
[Medoro (BOB)] I know roughly where they say they saw the statue
[Branwyn (Lisa)] I would have liked to ask them some questions
[Branwyn (Lisa)] Like did they see tracks? Any strange markings that led them to believe it was a land creature?
[Branwyn (Lisa)] They said nothing except they saw a statue in the water?
[Medoro (BOB)] they did not say anything about that Mistress
[Medoro (BOB)] jsut a man with a fishing pole who was a stone statue
[Branwyn (Lisa)] And no one as yet has tried to retrieve him?
[Medoro (BOB)] that is what I asked you to do, begging your pardon Mistress
[Medoro (BOB)] to go find him and find the monster that did that
[Medoro (BOB)] it has to be a monster right?
[Branwyn (Lisa)] I don't know.
[Kristelle (Kaz)] Maybe
[Kristelle (Kaz)] Maybe not. I guess we will find out.
[Branwyn (Lisa)] Nothing attacked the hunters who came upon him.
[Imari (Death)] "It could just be a statue."
[Imari (Death)] "Do we go out today or tomorrow?"
[Branwyn (Lisa)] What would you like to do?
[Branwyn (Lisa)] It makes no difference to me.
[Kristelle (Kaz)] Why don't we do some careful scouting?
[Branwyn (Lisa)] Very careful
[Imari (Death)] "I would like to wait a day."
[Branwyn (Lisa)] Have a big date later today?
[Imari (Death)] "I have something to do that will take some time."
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (guess you don't get a vote Imari?)
[Kristelle (Kaz)] Sure, we can wait for tomorrow.
Kristelle (Kaz)] shrugs
[BOB] ] Kristelle moved 8'08".
[BOB] ] Branwyn moved 17'01".
Kaz] has left the game on Fri Apr 30 22:39:06 EDT 2010
[BOB] ] Imari moved 30'00".
[BOB] ] Indigo moved 21'04".
[Imari (Death)] ::takes out her dagger::
[Imari (Death)] "Indigo, come here."
Kaz] has joined the game on Fri Apr 30 22:39:42 EDT 2010
Kaz] is receiving the map Base Map...
Kaz] has received the map Base Map.
Indigo (Lisa)] walks over to Imari
[Imari (Death)] ::pulls on a bit of hair and cuts it off::
[Indigo (Lisa)] Hey! What was that for?
[Imari (Death)] "I will see you tomorrow" ::goes out of the keep::
Indigo (Lisa)] scratches his head staring out at the empty doorway
[Imari (Death)] okay, we can click time if you want
[Kaz] I hate when she gets all inscrutible
[BOB] ok, anyone else with anything before morning?
[Kaz] (no clicking time yet))
[BOB] waiting
[Kaz] Kristelle is going to go to the goblin hole and work at hiding the entrance. We can still use it as a last-ditch hiding place if need be.
[Kaz] I am back at the keyboard.
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((anyone who wants to go along and help is welcome to.))
[Branwyn (Lisa)] Branwyn and Indigo will rest up in the Keep
[BOB] ok
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((if she has time and it's not too far from the place in the woods, I'd like to have Kristelle buy a chest from the widow, if she'll part with one at a reasonable price.))
[BOB] so Kristelle goes off to the Woods and settles some things in place there, Imari is off on her mission, and Branwyn and Indigo recover at the keep
[BOB] no, kaz a bit too far to do in one afternoon
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((ok))
[BOB] and so morning?
[BOB] ] Time of Day: 07:00 AM. Day 9 See ___ de, Spe {Early Fall} 9th, 338 SKR.
[BOB] ] Imari's Current Hit Points: adjusted to 28 (3) - Lightly Wounded
[BOB] ] Indigo's Current Hit Points: adjusted to 19 (1) - Unharmed
[BOB] ] Branwyn: No adjustments made.
[BOB] ] Kristelle's Current Hit Points: adjusted to 26 (1) - Unharmed
[BOB] so morning at the keep
[Imari (Death)] ::comes back and hands indigo a wrapped bundle. Inside is a talisman made from a tooth of the ankheg, the eye agate, and a raven's feather. It is tied together with a chord braided from leather with his hair trapped in the braid:: "This is for you."
[BOB] you have full spells, etc
[Imari (Death)] "Keep it on and Partik will keep his eye on you, as he did with the ankheg."
Indigo (Lisa)] looks down in awe at his gift
[Indigo (Lisa)] Thank you Imari
[Indigo (Lisa)] I will wear it with honor
[Imari (Death)] "You are welcome."
[Imari (Death)] ::nods::
Kristelle (Kaz)] smiles to hersef
Indigo (Lisa)] puts on talisman and touches it gently
[BOB] and so scouting mission in the marshes?
[Imari (Death)] sure. though i'm not as awake as these old ladies. i think i'm going to call it a night here.
[Imari (Death)] if you guys are going to play more, can i make a suggestion?
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((please))
[Imari (Death)] i will anyway. ask around.
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (don't get turned to stone?)
[Imari (Death)] talk to whoever's in the area. there may be more to it than a monster.
[Imari (Death)] i hope.
[Imari (Death)] a stone gaze monster would suck at our level
[Imari (Death)] nighty. see you next week.
[Kristelle (Kaz)] yeah
Death] has left the game on Fri Apr 30 22:51:54 EDT 2010
[Branwyn (Lisa)] goodnight
[Kristelle (Kaz)] Okay, night Mike
[BOB] he says thanks
[Kristelle (Kaz)] Nothing like a little lag
[Branwyn (Lisa) (to GM only)] ] Character sheet for Branwyn modified:
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (spells for today - detect magic be any use you think?)
[Branwyn (Lisa)] 10 x 60 feet around me for 8 rounds
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((It might, it's a good thought.))
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (haven't used it so not sure how it works in reality)
[BOB] brb
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (Mike was right about talking to people - but Medoro seemed to act like there was no one to talk to)
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((Still, they might have seen or heard things, there may be old legends that we can get information from, or maybe someone knows something but no one 'official' has asked them for information))
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (I'm up for getting as much info as possible)
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (Was interesting to me that hunters were there and found him but did not get affected)
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((absolutely. We'll probably get some cryptic stuff, or even nothing at all from some people))
[BOB] b
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (forgot about that part last week)
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((Yes, exactly. I'm wondering if my Move Silently and Tracking will help))
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (I thiink so)
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (is fisherman in the water entirely or on shore Bob?)
[BOB] from this distance it looks like he is in the water
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((If the hunters are not from the area, there is nothing to say he is not just a statue and they dont' know any better))
[BOB] is almost a hundred yards away
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (No one's family reported a missing person?)
[BOB] from here looks like someone sitting in a boat
[BOB] no no missing person's report
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (that is odd to me as well)
[BOB] and not forcing you into this now
[BOB] just letting you see things
[Kristelle (Kaz)] ((exactly))
[BOB] so you can plan and start off next week if you want
[BOB] discuss ask questions, etc
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (I'm just thinking out loud - not wanting to go anywhere yet)
[BOB] ok
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (so if Medoro can recommend anyone to talk to - we just go around the estate finding people to ask?)
[BOB] he has no one
[Kaz] so, we'll probably want to ask around if anyone has seen the stone fisherman, and take it from there. We want to know, what, if anyone is missing from the area? What else?
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (not sure how logistics work)
[BOB] it was a report by some hunters
[BOB] this is a pretty uninhabited section of teh Estates
[Kaz] This is not cranberry bogs still, it's just swamp?
[BOB] too swampy for farming
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (so anyone we ask at the keep is going to know nothing)
[BOB] the previous hunters were after aligator bounties
[BOB] 2 silver per foot
[BOB] in length
[Branwyn (Lisa)] (you keep talking about alligators - might we run into to some in the marshes?)
[BOB] yes
[BOB] snakes, alligators, giant snapping turtles,
[BOB] all sorts of swamp creatures you could run into
[Lisa] looking at map, stone guy looks like he is close to a little island
[BOB] nods
[Lisa] to even get near him we have to get in the water
[BOB] nods
[Lisa] another point to ponder
[BOB] no way to get from where you are without getting wet
[Lisa] in a boat
[BOB] do you have one in your pocket?
[Lisa] don't think I want to swim with gators
[Kaz] if we could get a small boat from someone, that would be great
[Lisa] this is a very large keep
[Kaz] maybe someone would rent us a boat
[Lisa] I'm sure someone has a boat
[BOB] you could try, but not at the keep, there is none there,
[BOB] but a fisherman might have a skiff you can borrow
[Lisa] is no your answer to everything?
[BOB] yes
[BOB] smiles
[Lisa] just checking
[BOB] grins
[Kaz] You'll learn, Lisa.
[Kaz] it's his answer to 99.99999999% of everything. :) Unless you WANT the answer to be no!
[Lisa] I am sure we can get hooked up with a boat
[Lisa] lol!
[Kaz] Bob, how many people fit in a skiff?
[BOB] two
[Lisa] problem is - fisher stone guy was in a boat
[Lisa] did hunters have a boat?
[BOB] no they did not
[Kaz] they probably saw him from a distance, but a bit closer than we are now
[BOB] yes, they were closer but did not get close enough to touch, stayed about 15 yards away
[BOB] enough to see some detail but not close
[Lisa] I am just wondering if land is okay - being in water will get us
[BOB] most likely along that southern waterway
[Kaz] if we get to the mass of land that covers the bottom corner of the map, we can walk more and be in the water less.
[BOB] swampy areas, tall grasses, muck, mud along the banks, some occasional trees
[BOB] but no woods, just swampy areas
[Lisa] Maybe find some rats to toss in water - see how they do?
[BOB] bran loves rats
[Kaz] so, if we can get to south of where the guy is, then I can transport people one at a time in a skiff to that other landmass.
[Lisa] loves to kill them
[Kaz] IF we can get a skiff.
[Lisa] I'm not sure we should go in water
[BOB] and remember that is really just the edge of more swamp
[Kaz] In a boat?
[Lisa] fisherman was in a boat
[BOB] not a whole island per se, just more swamp and swamp
[BOB] it does have an end
[Kaz] what's not a whole island?
[BOB] it is not the Great Swamp
[BOB] that other bank there
[BOB] that landmass you refered to
[Kaz] Well, it looks like unbroken landmass.
[Kaz] down along the edge, and around the corner.
[Lisa] can we enter from another direction?
[BOB] nods, just a perception because of the map areas,
[BOB] no can not get to that side without getting wet
[BOB] well you can
[BOB] but have to leave the Estates
[Lisa] figures
[BOB] travel north or south then west then back
[BOB] this is just south of that area where the battle was fought at teh beginning of Born in Fire
[BOB] SE of that battle ground
[Kaz] by the Inn, you mean?
[BOB] nods
[BOB] which is outside of the Estates
[Kaz] well, we have no choice but to go into the water if we want to get down there.
[Kaz] could take a boat from where we are, down to the other side of that little 'island'
[BOB] lots of possibliies
[Kaz] ] Kristelle moved 486'00".
[Kaz] basically liket hat
[BOB] and the water is not terribly deep
[Lisa] too much water
[BOB] varies from 2 to 12 foot deep
[Kaz] but there are alligators, so I'd rather not worry about walking into one.
[Lisa] ] Branwyn moved 86'06".
[Lisa] how about that and then walking around the side?
[Kaz] ] Kristelle moved 74'01".
[Lisa] ] Branwyn moved 262'11".
[Lisa] end up here
[Kaz] see, that's what I said earlier, and Bob said it's not unbroken land
[Lisa] before we have to see water again
[Lisa] oh - sorry
[Lisa] ] Branwyn moved 325'11".
[Kaz] ] Kristelle moved 64'08".
[Kaz] if we go that middle way, we only cross water three brief times
[Kaz] I guess a lot will depend on what we find out, whether we can get a boat, and what ideas the others have.
[BOB] and if you measure it out a lot of those crossings will be less than 20 feet
[Kaz] yep
[BOB] just lots of in and out
[BOB] getting wet, etc
[Kaz] getting wet isn't nearly as annoying as getting eaten...
[Lisa] why would we get wet if we have a bot?
[Lisa] boat?
[Kaz] well, it's not like there's a dock
[Kaz] so yeah, we're going to get wet. maybe not soaked, but still.
[BOB] will Branwyn melt? ;P
[Kaz] Is her last name Sakrine?
[Lisa] so don't wear nice shoes
[Lisa] she might
[BOB] don't get teh Sakrine?
[Lisa] no - sorry
[BOB] or is that Saccrine?
[Kaz] Aww, but I was gonna wear my dyed alligator stilletto sandals!
[BOB] sugar and spice and everything nice
[Kaz] No, there was a story that Isaac Asimov wrote
[BOB] oh?
[Lisa] that might be good idea - gators think you are a relative
[Kaz] about a lovely family that would panic any time it was going to rain, and they always checked the weather forcasts and the trusty barometer carefully before going anywhere
[BOB] do not remember that one
[Lisa] what would happen to them?
[Kaz] so one day, they finally agree to go to an amusement park with the neighbors, and veryone has a blast, but then the clouds move in and they insist on going home. And just as they're getting out of the car, the neighbor wife is saying, "You'd think they were made of..." and the heavens open up and rain pours down, and the Sakrine family all melt away, and the wife finishes saying, "sugar or sometihng."
[Lisa] LOL!
[Kaz] I might have spelt the last name a bit wrong, but basically it was a play on Sacchirine
[BOB] gotcha
[Kaz] anyway... I think we have enough of a plan to move with next week. I'm getting a headache, it's too late for me.
[Lisa] I just keep picturing this loch ness monster thing that comes out of water and attacks
[Lisa] okay
[BOB] smile
[BOB] feel better
[BOB] it is late
[Kaz] You guys have a good night. Sorry I can't stick around a bit longer, but I'm really done.
[BOB] you can discuss this on the site
[Kaz] Sweet dreams!
[BOB] I am mostly done too
[BOB] thanks
[BOB] HUGS
[Kaz] Yep, will do Bob
[Lisa] goodnight!
[Kaz] :)
