Carnak - History
Note: The Tribes do not keep track of time in a formal way as the rest of the Small Kingdoms do. These dates are to help outsiders sync events with a timeline kept by more civilized societies.
There are six rebirths in the calendar - one for each of the gods in the Shardik pantheon. Each of these gods rules for thirty six years before giving way to the next. A Cycle is one full journey through each of these rebirths. A Grand Cycle is six times through the Cycle - 1,296 years in total. The Life Cycle is six times through the Grand Cycle. It is generally accepted that at the end of the Life Cycle the world will end.
The eighth spring in the third rebirth of Sydrid of the fifth Cycle in the fourth grand cycle is when:
1236 TGR 312 SKR the Shardik Regulars are slaughtered to a man in Drillian
Most non-shamans would simply refer to "the eighth spring in the third rebirth of Sydrid" as an appropriate way of marking which date it is. Each of the rebirths happens in the order of: Andros, Confabulous, Partik, Quercus, Shardik and Sydrid. The priests of Shardik say that this shows the light versus dark cycles of the world as well as the Life Cycle.
