DarkStar One

DarkStar One (for x box 360) is a modern sci fi game in someway similar to an old merchant game I think was called Pirates. In the old game you had a ship and traveled around the Caribbean buying and selling goods and fighting in between docking. DarkStar One is a starship fighter, one of a kind, where you have a mission to avenge your fathers death, have lots of chances to attack pirates and it seems even be a pirate if you want to do, while you travel from system to system buying and selling goods. The 3d space combat is easier than expected but not my favoraite part of the game. Having to dock at each station in a 3d world alone can be challenging enough. It is still early but the game clearly is extensive with probably 100 or so systems to go to once you get the correct "key". While not really an RPG, the setting and system have a very "Traveler's" feel to it and the graphics are beautiful.

The game is still quite engaging. The trading is not as much fun or money as hunting pirates and delivering things for other people. Having auto turrets makes the combat easier and the main story is entriguing enough to stay on point. There are enough options for ship develpoment as well as personality development. You can be a pirate or sumgler. You can get bigger guns or be more manerverable and there are choices in weapons from lasers to missles launchers and even a couple types of missles. I was just in the middle of my second mission in the atmosphere, the first was a canyon attack and this one is a large installation.
Hope you enjoy,
