Great Saint Bernard
Bernard was a Celtic Druid who was part of an adventuring party. As they traveled throughout the Celtic Empire the group became very close.
One spring the group chose to cross the Great Mountains from Hallstatt towards the Western World. They were caught by a late season blizzard high in the pass. Bernard used his ability of shape change to become a monstrous dog who was able to provide warmth and dragged his companions to safety. He expended so much effort in this task he was not able to change back to his human form afterward.
As the Celtic Empire collapsed Bernard was still remembered for his heroic deeds. Throughout the Celtic World prayers were offered to the Great Saint Bernard for assistance during times of danger. He is one of the few historical figures that are revered by both the Celtic priests and the Druids.
