Humanoid Campaign by john Anstett
One of the many projects I started was a Humanoid campaign. I did not want to call it an evil campaign, but was prepared to accept evil characters. The concept developed as not only an adventure to run, but the thought to make something to publish and sell. I thought of it recently when I stumbled over Bob's notes on his adventure he was looking to market, but remembering the evil campaign made me war to put some of it down here.
He thought is that every player would play a non human race, preferable one that had some sort of tribe or family system. The player character would obviously be special and chosen by the leader, given a scent trinket that would obviously be a magic item and sent on a mission. There would be some mystery, but it would be clear that it was a coalition of diffrent races to work to a common goal. All the diffrent magic items were to be from a set called The Brotherhood, and each would be wearable in some way, offer protection and the means to comprehend languages of anyone else wearing another Brotherhood item but it would also not allow anyone wearing one to purposely harm another one wearing one. I used this. In a trial runof my campaign setting, with the players being good humans, finding some of the items and then meeting some humanoids, it made for a nice surprise in combat when you can not attack the bad guys. I had though of this being a programmed adventure running on a computer with the possibility of the DM inputting or selecting options, like if they were going to play the good or bad guys and then having the program feed lines to the DM. With the updates in tech, and what people are used to, the simplest thing to do is just put it as a Klooge campaign. Consider it another project on myself when I have time.
