Flashback -- The first days of Kylia as a Dragonslayer...
Life as a Dragonslayer isn't quite what I thought it would be. I've been asked to do and witness horrors that the normal person just couldn't envision.
Thedd is a humble sort of place...except, well, Thedd's underground keep. It's an enormous place. Easy to get lost if you aren't privy to the map created by the Dragonslayers and passed down through the generations of new Dragonslayers.
There is a beholder that lives down there...he seems to like tea. I must ask Hiro if he'd be able to obtain more tea for the beholder so we can sneak past again. The beholder asked to leave..and, well, we did.
I met a gold dragon as well down there. I real live gold dragon! It was just breathtakingly beautiful. I was amazed at seeing it in person and baffled as to how he managed to get there. It doesn't appear to have an opening large enough in that form.
There are two creatures in the depths of Thedd that I find absolutely amazing. One are the Aerie, they are large bid creatures. As long as they get fed, we are able to pass through the corridors, otherwise they leave a trail that is corrosive in nature.
The other creature has claimed more than its fair share of lives is something called the Sons of Kyuss. They may appear to be ordinary zombies at first; however, the tale-tell sign is the "worms" that spring from them to their intended victim. Over a short time, if not treated, the victim then becomes one of the "sons".
There are endless other residents and amazing mystical things. Wishing wells, wells that convert gold to lead, dark gnomes, ghosts, drow, basilisks....the list goes on as we continue to explore this wonderous area.
