[DM] beyond is a room full of hideously mutated creatures. they look like mounds of flesh with arms and eyes and other body parts sticking out randomly. there are about 5 of them each of which is in a cage. there are a few empty cages in this room as well

[DM] well, locked to keep the things inside, yes. but not with a padlock or anything, just latches
[DM] and they can probably reach about a foot from the cages

[DM] you easily grab one of the little creatures and toss it aside. it shakes it off and dives back into the pile
