Karst
Karst is a mage with little public history. He only appears in the Wolfspack Mage's Guild rolls as an apprentice mage to a "Lady Hondolynn" who stopped by the city on their way to the Leper Mountains to search out a previously unreported vampire's lair. The Dragonslayers Society confirmed the existence of this vampire lair in later years after they had defeated the creature. It was assumed that Karst and his mentor were victims of the vampire.
It appears that Karst was able to survive and prosper in the years after that adventure. He is now known to live in a large stone tower on the eastern outskirts of the Bronda Hills. He has set up strong defenses around his domicile; no living thing can enter without his permission.
Karst remains aloof from the outside world. It can be speculated that he is performing some sort of magical research, although what the nature of that research is remains a mystery. He obviously has made friends with several high level mages, however he seems to never have any visitors to his tower. His last known contact is Paul ElvenStier of the earlier mentioned group the Dragonslayers. It is unclear if Karst has a previous relationship with the adventuring group given the circumstances of the possible earlier encounter. The Dragonslayers Society can normally be contacted in Wolfspack at a tavern owned by the group, "Wine, Women and More Wine".
