Mar 28 08 - Story Form - The Bigger They Are
Time of Day: 08:45 AM. Day 1 Trall, Ohm {Early Winter}, 1259 TGR
As the battle began the group got an early jump on the much larger giants. Ramone? and Finglas targeted the two Fire Priests that were in front of the doors killing them both before anyone could move or react.
Then the advance plans started to come unraveled as Paul decided to attack a Fire Giant instead of casting Wizard Lock on the doors. Paul, Kit and Anterias all ganged up on one of the Fire Giants and did a large amount of damage, heavily wounding him. However the Fire Giant shrugged that off, until Victoriana came up behind him and dealt a huge blow critically wounding the Giant. Then Moirra came in and smote the Giant again bringing it to death’s door.
Meanwhile Percy attacked the other Fire Giant that was at the entrance way. Arilyn? and Varn? moved to join him with their attacks. After doing some damage to the Giant it reached down to grab Percy in one of it’s huge fists. Just as Percy was about to be tossed into the roiling lava he enlarged himself back to Hill Giant size to force the Fire Giant to drop him.
While Victoriana was engaged with the one Fire Giant another Giant came up behind her and dealt her a blow with his huge two-handed sword. Then yet another Giant hit Tori with a scalding hot rock thrown at her from a distance. At the same time two more Giants on the other side of the temple hurled in hot boulders at Arilyn? and Varn? doing damage to both of them.
Then the Giant that was being swarmed over by the group grabbed up Kit to throw her into the lava. In a last desperate attack Kit slashed him and the Giant collapsed into a pile dead.

As the group recovered from the first attacks Finglas showered the Giant that had attacked Percy with arrows as Paul moved to attack the other Fire Giant that had moved in to attack Victoriana. As Kit jumped to attack this same Giant their combined blows brought it to its knees and it fell over.
Percival took this chance to move forward in the opposite direction and attack one of the Fire Priests that was still lurking. Percy heavily wounded him quickly, then Varn? closed in to complete the kill. Arilyn? was unable to land any blows on the Giant that was attacking her and was grabbed in it’s fist. The Giant heaved her up as she squirmed and taunted it then the Giant brought its fist down to crush Arilyn? between its two fists. Tori ducked around the skirmish to find Moirra to receive some healing, and as the two of them worked on her wounds they saw one of the Fire Priests slip through the doors and into the temple to call for reinforcements.
As Percy and Varn? were finishing off the Fire Priest more fiery rocks came hurtling in to batter them. The doors opened up and a Fire Giant peered out to see the combat raging in front of the temple. Anterias whirled around with his blade to try and hamstring the Giant attacking him before it could go join with the new entrant to the fray in the hopes it would drop Arilyn?.

With a mighty yell Finglas sent arrow after arrow at the Fire Giant that was attacking Anterias, massively wounding the Giant in his hail of arrows. Paul, seeing the new Fire Giant at the entrance to the temple, moved to be able to attempt to magically lock the doors. Kit turned her claws on the Fire Giant that Anterias and Finglas were keeping at bay and brought him to the ground in bloody tatters, his entrails out on the ground of the temple. Arilyn? ducked between the combatants to move to Lady Kylia’s side and receive some much needed healing.
The group heard movement from inside of the temple as the baying of hounds and heavy footsteps of more Giants approached. Faintly a soft chanting started in the distance. Percy and Anterias both turned to attack the Fire Giant that came out of the temple doors, then saw a new Giant emerging from the temple behind it. Arilyn? was able to receive Lady Kylia’s touch as Moirra did her best to heal Victoriana again.
Just after Tori moved away from Moirra to make another attack on the Fire Giants at the entrance to the Temple more molten boulders came hurtling in from the side. Tori took a hit from one, and on the other side of the fray Percy took another hit from a boulder. Then one of the Giants at the entrance dealt a mighty blow to Percy, driving Percy to his knees and massively wounding him. Anterias and Varn? quickly closed on the Giant and threw him back wounding him almost to death. Finally Paul and the Fire Giant in the doorway exchanged blows, doing damage to each other.
