[Indigo (Lisa)] I know I probably shouldn't have, but I mentioned the pearl and how it was magic but it wasn't
[Indigo (Lisa)] And this man called it the Pearl of Obscurity. He said that it keeps anyone from doing divination on anyone holding it.
[Imari (mikE)] "That's not very special."
[Indigo (Lisa)] And that the Council of Chrurches really doesn't like it.
[Imari (mikE)] "The mist does that."
[Scarlet (BOB's laptop)] "No, but it explains a lot."
[Imari (mikE)] "There is an entire land that does that."
[Imari (mikE)] "Again, I will never understand you people."
[Indigo (Lisa)] But not here
[Imari (mikE)] "To place such value in an object that just does what the mist does."
[Indigo (Lisa)] He said that it a burglar's tool and that it has changed hands a lot
[Scarlet (BOB's laptop)] "In a land where any church can just cast a spell and discover any criminal, an item that protects you from that is priceless."
[Branwyn (Lisa)] Well, that might explain the clash between the Church Council and the City over the investigation.
[Branwyn (Lisa)] And why they needed us to go find it.
[Scarlet (BOB's laptop)] "The church probably doesnt want the city getting their hands on it."
[Branwyn (Lisa)] So, who do we tell we have it and do we hand it over?
[Imari (mikE)] "Then it's too bad the church didn't hire us."
[Imari (mikE)] "Because we should be giving it back to Watson."
[Branwyn (Lisa)] Foriso said what 10,000 gp?
[Scarlet (BOB's laptop)] "Well, we were hired to find the culprit and discover the motive. We werent hired to return this pearl."

[Imari (mikE)] "We will not behave in a manner that tarnishes the Dragon Slayers."

[Imari (mikE)] "Have you heard of the quarrel between Partik and Andros?"
[Indigo (Lisa)] Who is Andros?
[Scarlet (BOB's laptop)] "Isnt Andros an island in the Island kingdoms?"

[Scarlet (BOB's laptop)] "Whats Partik got against there?"

[Imari (mikE)] "So when the traveller met his fate upon the road Partik intervened and took him to safety."

[Imari (mikE)] "This upset Andros greatly. The spider doesn't like his weaving to be interferred with."
[Indigo (Lisa)] But I bet Partik won. For how could a spider defeat the winged Partik?
[Imari (mikE)] "So Andros decided to see how smart Partik really was."

[Imari (mikE)] "He avoided the web and landed in a tree, shouting at Andros for trying to trap him."
[Imari (mikE)] "Andros responded that it was a lesson Partik deserved for messing with his web."

[Imari (mikE)] "Eventually Shardik himself shouted at them for quiet as their bickering was giving him a headache."

[Imari (mikE)] "It is the Spider's right to weave his webs of fate, and Partik's right to watch over travellers."
[Imari (mikE)] "And so that is why not every traveller is saved. Some threads of fate are left to Andros, and some Partik breaks."
