Music according to John Anstett
I am a big fan of music, in general, some styles more then others. While I would never try out for American Anything, I did sing while my wife (to be) walked down the isle and my kids are sung custom songs on a weekly basis.
I have wanted to have a list of songs that "today's kids" at least mine, should hear and really list to at least once, not just because it is a good song, but because t says something. I do want input as I have not hear it all.
1) Jack & Diane - John Melencamp
- Great song all around. Upbeat and happy and you can't help but feel good.
"Oh yea, Life goes on, long after the thrill of living is gone"
2) You're gonna miss this
country song where the title sums it up, but a must for young parents, I already taught my daughter the song.
Are there any lines that define a song, stand out without being the title or chorus?
"Can music save your mortal soul"
"You better be good for goodness sake"
"Did you exchange a walk on role in a war for a lead role in a cage"
"I want you, I need you, but there ain't no way I'm every gonna love you." "...but there ain't no cupe de ville hidding at the bottom of a Crackerjack box."
"I've been tellin' my dreams to the scarecrow" Born to Fly by Sara Evans
a band that you might try Abney Park they were a goth punk band that now plays steampunk. the link is to a video of theirs called Airship Pirates.

While I like the music, I do not want my kids to grow up to be pilots. I will put this on my other list.
Tks.
