Northbank Tower

This small island to the north of North Bank is the oldest home of the Di Orva noble family.

The Northbank Tower is known to the local populace as the ‘House of Eights’ owing to its octagonal shape and a repetitive use of decorative themes in ‘octets.’ The building itself sits upon a tall foundation raising it’s front entry slightly above the street level and giving it a more imposing stature.

The entry portico sits atop a flight of curved stone stairs. The covered area is big enough to accommodate the Earl when he gives his infrequent public announcements from the stairs. Typically this area is occupied by a solitary guard who questions any visitors as to their business before permitting entry. The large reinforced doors are decorated with carved scenes of the founding of the city and are considered an artistic marvel in the region.
