Rene came to us as a friend of both Barb and Brian. She brought the number of women at the table to three and I do think this had an impact on the future of the game after that. People who heard about our game knew it was a welcoming place for everyone to come and play.
Rene will be most remembered for a quirk of fate with the casting of a spell. About to go into a dungeon another player John had his character cast 'imbue with spell ability' on Rene's fighter. The next week Rene stopped playing with us. That character had to live with the loss of the spell slot for many months afterward as it was still assigned to Rene's character.
