Lawrence was almost born into corporate slavery. The son of a wage mage who worked for a rival corporation and believed killed along with the rest of his family. Raised by a corporate mentor who downplayed and hid his true potential and when the time was right helped him escape the corporate machine. As a corport slave, he was tought a variety of book skills and some language skills. While not prone to combat, even with his spells he was taught some basic unarmed combat and area of effect spells. For a few years he and his mentor lived on the run, as his mentor was getting up in age, he did not want the same life for his your friend. A few more survival skill were taught and a token of gratitude for helping an old man experience freedom, the mentor gave Lawrence a Magical Foci to help him in his quest to stay free, before the mentor died. While not considered a valuable asset, he lives his life with the constant fear of being taken back into service.
