[GMJames] The 3.5E game is at the end of the "big fight" and just about to wrap up. The 4E game is going well. Learning a lot and have gotten about 40% of the PHB into the data files.

[GMJames] Powers can get to be a lot of work. Spend a lot of time sorting through what to do each round. Rule intensive application of efforts.

[GMJames] However, now the Fighter has more to do than just whack the baddies and see how long it can stand

[Vicki] lol, that's the fun part... beating up someone to see how long they endure being beaten

[GMJames] Agreed. Mages have a fantastic improvement for lower levels. Though the concept of rituals takes away some stuff that you "could" do in combat before.

[Vicki] Hopefully without a lot of damage to your own body...

[GMJames] And Vicki, now at least you can move around when doing it. Though the Powers tend to take away some Role Play aspects and trade them for time spent determining which Power to employ.

[mikE] yeah. and are fighters actually worth playing now?

[GMJames] I think they can be, though the healing rules have made it difficult to last long without a Cleric.

[GMJames] Well, everyone gets to use one "surge" an encounter. It takes a Cleric to activate any of your other 8-10 surges one could use in a single encounter.

[GMJames] 4E Clerics are beefed up for combat as well if you take particular Powers.

[Fritz das Boot] Any way I give them each 3 potions starting the first day with Kit since she is the sickest. Potion number 1 is a potion of miscibility..allows you to mix any 2 or more potions without ill affect...potion number A potion of luck...any roll you wish is automatic...potion 2 a potion of teleportation...works with any known area within 100 miles. They use the potion of luck to guarentee they don't appear in a floor or ceiling.
