Nevin Ognorn: I hope you have good luck with your friend Thistle
so moving through Valoris Wood and into the Jistille Estates
over the last two weeks Branwyn has made her visit to pay respects
so as the group goes through the path through the wood
south into the Jistille Estates
Indigo smiles as you go by the Old Widows farm
and then arriving at the wizards tower in the village of Harielle
so moving through Valoris Wood and into the Jistille Estates
so as the group goes through the path through the wood
south into the Jistille Estates
you arrive at the Jistille Estates
Medero: Welcome Dragon Fen
Indigo: Hi Medoro!
Medero: How are you doing my old friend
Bixi Fizzlebang: does slight wave to the stranger
Indigo: Been lost for 6 years but okay. How are you?
Medero: I was very happy to hear you returned
Indigo: Me too! This is everyone!
Medero: The world has grown older
Indigo: introduces everyone
Medero: It is good to see you all
Talwin: Warm Smile: Greetings
Indigo: And sadder. I am sorry about Araheal
Licornah: :: bows and says hello ::
Medero: Yes it was hard to adjust
Medero: Jilly told me you were off to Loosend
Indigo: We're heading there
Medero: I have a package for you to deliver please
Medero: from a ..... friend
Indigo: Ummm sure. Who for?
Medero: He has been cagey on that of course
Indigo: Regor!
Medero: but Regor said when you get to the city to ask for for Sharon the Brassy
Indigo: Then how do I know who to give it to?
Indigo: Okay
Medero: He has been getting quieter,
Indigo: How come?
Medero: at first when Araheal passed he was all full of plans and questions
Medero: now it seems he is a bit .... flatter?
Medero: not as sharp
Indigo: Send Branwyn and Ilero a message so they can go visit him
Indigo: Unless Thistle wants to see him now
Medero: I had considered asking the Missus about if we should let him out
Indigo: Where would he go?
Medero: I do not know
Medero: hands over a small locked chest to Indigo, about 8 inches long
Medero: I hope this goes better than the trip that Ilero took for him
Indigo: puts it in the back of the wagon
Indigo: What trip?
Medero: Oh I think you were gone
Medero: There was something about a chimera?
Indigo: Zayden and Craigh hear a master thief added a locked box to the wagon ...
Medero: I am sure he can tell you all the horrible details
Indigo: Ohhhh that sounds like a good story! I'll make Ilero tell us when we get back
Medero: I hope you have a good trip, be careful of the trolls
Indigo: Trolls in Jistille?
Medero: the Moss Road has not been maintained as well these past few years,
Talwin: Tilts head in question
Indigo: Send a message to Branwyn. She and Branadarus can help with that while we're gone
Talwin: Has something happened? Odd for the Moss Road?
Medero: Are you heading to Redfern Lake I guess
Talwin: Looks at Indigo in concern
Indigo: Just a bunch of trolls
Indigo: Yup Medoro
Medero: Tell Old Man Miller he still owes Jistille a replacement for the wine order he lost
Indigo: grins
Indigo: Okay
Medero: I hope to have the Missus here for the spring celebrations
Bixi Fizzlebang: looks around at group
Bixi Fizzlebang: Did you used to be messengers?
Talwin: Messengers of Death, Talwin thinks to himself
Medero: have a safe trip, send a message if you need
Indigo: Thanks Medoro. We'll be home again in a few weeks and I'll visit longer
Zayden: A thief who still works even from prison, that is impressive!
So you are a couple of hours into your day
traveled through the woods, down to Jistille,
now out along the Moss Road
Bixi Fizzlebang: Should we trust a box a thief has given us? What if something dangerous is inside?
Indigo: It's locked. Not gonna hurt us
Indigo: Probably
Indigo: grins
Youtargim: Of course we should not trust a box from a thief, grins
Indigo: He wants it delivered. He's not gonna make us explode
Youtargim: What sort of thief is this Regor?
Youtargim: Thistle? you worked with him?
Zayden: why is Regor so mad?
Indigo: looks at Thistle
Thistle: shrugs
Thistle: A know-it-all thief.
Youtargim: smiles at Rae, see, I know not all halflings are thieves, that is a horrible stereotype
Thistle: And not all rogues are thieves. Ilero gets offended by that!
Youtargim: you have to have Respect
Youtargim: winks
Raelynn: Mmhmm.
Bixi Fizzlebang: Not all of any race is any one thing.
Youtargim: Why is he mad? that is a good question Zayden
Bixi Fizzlebang: We all have... um... outliers.
Zayden: Sometimes we steal to survive...
Raelynn: Umm, you were pretty mad being locked up. So why wouldn't Regor be?
Youtargim: What do you think the outliers for an Elf are? or a Gnome?
Zayden: yes, is he crazy mad? Or is he angry mad?
Indigo: Crazy mad
Thistle: No, no. He's not mad angry. But mad... Yeah! A little.. touched in the head.
Bixi Fizzlebang: I wouldn't know enough about elves to say
Youtargim: glances over at Licornah, what is unusual for an Elf?
Zayden: mentally unwell mad, not crazy mad ...
Indigo: What's the difference?
Bixi Fizzlebang: But um, for gnomes... wanting to go out adventuring and writing ghost stories rather than settling down in town... not exactly the standard.
Zayden: one is just more pc language than the other
Indigo: Ummm .. crazy is crazy
Indigo: You'll meet him and see when we get back
Zayden: he's not crazy, he's unwell, the final product is the same. Perhaps we can treat him if he is unwell, but crazy is a deformation of character
Zayden: so say some
Talwin: Another question to ask, is if he himself calls himself mad, or if that is a term assigned to him
Bixi Fizzlebang: Perhaps crazy is just misunderstood by the... non-outliers
Thistle: Oh no, he's fine with being called that.
Youtargim: That is interesting
Thistle: Sometimes I think he gets angry mad if you don't call him that!
Zayden: Well it could also be for reputational reasons, to intimidate the competition and such
Bixi Fizzlebang: I bet it's very helpful to have everyone think you're mad. They probably leave you alone unless it's very important
Youtargim: That is an important thing
Youtargim: to have a reputation that everyone just believes in
Youtargim: so then you can use that as cover
Bixi Fizzlebang: What is yours, Yout?
Zayden: quite strategic if you think of it that way
Indigo: He's not a good guy. He's like Jennivive. Kinda evil but doesn't just come out and hurt you
Youtargim: I am a dashing pirate captain, now turned to doing good
Youtargim: Who is Jennivive?
Indigo: She's the Queen's advisor. She lived with us in Dryad's Lair for a year
Zayden: good question Youtargim
Zayden: Oh cool, was she nice?
Youtargim: Your group does seem to have very interesting friends
Thistle: Now SHE'S a bit crazy, but she doesn't take as kindly to you telling her that to her face.
Indigo: She's a priestess of ... of ... Belinos I think? Some chaos god
Talwin: I would not call Jennivive Nice. Intelligent, Loyal, and Powerful Yes. But, not Nice
Indigo: She was nice to me and Branwyn but we didn't argue with her much
Thistle: She and Shi kind of got along.
Zayden: sounds like an interesting character!
Talwin: She gives me the feeling that she could peel your skin off and not bat an eye
Indigo: Well yeah if she wanted to
Talwin: Side-eyes Indigo
Youtargim: You said that this Regor the Mad is a prisoner but not a prisoner
Zayden: Could she peel your clothes off as well?
Indigo: laughs
Zayden chuckles
Indigo: She'd want to. She was always flirting with the human men
Bixi Fizzlebang: cringes
Indigo: Think she kind of scares most of them
Zayden: well that's good to know for future reference
Thistle: Well her husband is a necromancer... probably one of the only kinds of men who wouldn't be scared of her
Bixi Fizzlebang: [SKILL] Botany [MOD:INT] (vs. Target 15) [SUCCESS by 1] [d20 = 14]
Youtargim: I am a bit concerned about the idea of a Necromancer?
Youtargim: I have not met a good one of those
Talwin: Eh, it seems like we never have either
Youtargim: Or a nice one for that matter
Lorie (Licornah): :: grumbles at the mention of a Necromancer ::
Talwin: We tend to be the ones that have to kill them
Indigo: He's hiding or something. Don't know where he is
Youtargim: Who is hiding?
Indigo: Red Cloak. The necromancer
Youtargim: THE Necromancer?
Indigo: He's the brother of the Queen's Consort
Youtargim: He is .... I... well that is not what I expected
Indigo: They're twins
Indigo: So we can't kill him and he can't kill me
Indigo: Not sure why but Toybin made a deal where he couldn't kill me
Youtargim: Can't? or CAN'T
Talwin: Either
Talwin: Firmly
Indigo: He can try to kill Branwyn but he hasn't tried
Talwin: We'd make sure of it
Youtargim: So stick near you when he is around
Youtargim: anyone in a red cloak? or is there a special one?
Talwin: Uh yeah, who would dare? Even if he made it past all of us, I'm sure Bran has a fireball with his name on it
Indigo: No he promised his brother. I don't think he would try to kill me
Youtargim: And here I thought the strangest thing was having a Gypsy girl staying with us on this trip
Indigo: Ehhh the mages. I think they all secretly like having each other around. I'm not worried
Youtargim: IS that what you think Howard?
Youtargim: You were here when I met Branwyn and Indigo,
Youtargim: but did not come with us, what did you do while we were gone?
Howard Plum: Well ... I've never met this Red Cloak. I don't think I want evil necromancers around but I can't speak for Branwyn
Thistle: Yeah, we killed Black Cloak for a reason.
Howard Plum: I helped teach Dahlia and kept the library and took care of magic things in the estate that needed taking care of. Many important things
Thistle: [SKILL] Detect Noise [PERCENT:Detect Noise] (vs. Target 35) [FAILURE by 37] [d100 = 72]
Bixi Fizzlebang: [SKILL] Alertness [MOD:WIS] (vs. Target 14) [SUCCESS by 13] [d20 = 1]
Talwin: [SKILL] Observation [MOD:INT] (vs. Target 13) [FAILURE by 5] [d20 = 18]
Licornah: [SKILL] Observation (vs. Target 15) [SUCCESS by 1] [d20 = 14]
Up ahead Licornah spots two trolls coming out of a ravine near the road ahead
Licornah: :: motions to the group and quietly mentions the trolls ::
Bixi Fizzlebang: says quietly; behind us!
Reven / Lipthink (giant sword) to Talwin: Ha! And so my power awakens!!!
You see the three trolls, two up front with the one sneaking up behind
Zayden: uh oh
Those two trolls out front are over 600 feet away right now
Zayden: Some say the best way to deal with trolls is to ignore them, not play their game...
but moving to block the roadway
Talwin: So Indigo, I'm now facing a conundrum. You are admiral and clearly the leader of this group. As Knight of the Protectorate, I recommend we just wait until they get closer and if they provide us issues, we kill them. Thoughts?
Indigo: They're trolls. They'll have issues
Indigo: grins
Thistle: Howard has fireball, right? Just set them on fire now before they reach our wagon.
Thistle: OH! Or set me on fire and I'll tackle them.
Talwin: Grins back
Indigo: We can handle three stupid trolls
Talwin: Isn't it fun with the simple fights?
Howard Plum: I cannot cast fireball!
Talwin: I've missed that
Talwin: I don’t' think we need to set you on Fire Thistle. No need to be a humanoid torch at the moment
Indigo: Only bad thing about trolls is they throw things
Talwin: Sigh
Talwin: I would hate for our nice wagon to get damaged
Indigo: Well and the thing about them regenerating
Thistle: Well ya need fire to make sure they're dead.
Thistle: And I like being on fire.
Indigo: You have to chop their heads off
Bixi Fizzlebang: ... regenerating?
Talwin: Rolls eyes
Talwin: If you want to be on Fire that bad Thistle, I suppose we can oblige
Indigo: Yeah they grow back parts and get better
Thistle: Or fine, heads, whatever. That's more boring, though.
Talwin: Nods
Indigo: So have to really really kill em
Talwin: Kill them and then fire to stop them from Regenerating
Bixi Fizzlebang: Oh... that sounds... complicated
Thistle: So who's getting which one?
Talwin: Not...really?
Thistle: Trolls aren't smart enough to surround us BUT they kinda are.
Bixi Fizzlebang: Well there's at least one behind us
Talwin: Zayden, and Thistle for the rear, the rest of us for the front?
Bixi Fizzlebang: I can possibly scare them away when they get closer but that doesn't sound helpful in this circumstance
Talwin: I'll take the one closest, maybe buy a few extra seconds
Indigo: I'm getting out of the wagon and I'll go to the back first. I think that one is closer
Talwin: Nods
Talwin: Good Idea. I'll handle the front
Zayden: is there time for us to sneak behind em Thistle and I?
Thistle: I'll help you stab it. I can't slash it like you do, but I'm good at stabbing.
Indigo: jumps out of the wagon and goes to the back with Thistle and Zayden
Talwin: So to be clear everyone, unless they want to wish us well on such a nice day, we attack. It's clear they have been causing trouble for the nearby estate
Talwin: Nods again
Zayden nods
Talwin: As soon as our fighting is concluded, we must quickly act to burn the bodies. Understood everyone?
Talwin and Licornah moving forward to confront the two trolls up there
Indigo: We see you! You can't ambush us when we see you!
Indigo: yells at troll
Indigo: holds waiting for troll to get in reach
[ROUND 3]
Indigo: waits until troll gets closer
Zayden: waits for troll to get closer, a subtle hum at his lips
Zayden: waits for the troll to get closer, still humming
Howard Plum: waits for troll to come a bit closer
Reven / Lipthink (giant sword) to Talwin: Finally! Now you will see what we can do together, my friend. These fiends stand no chance against us!
Talwin: Mutters under his breath, talking to his sword. Nope, they absolutely do not. What a fine day for slaughter.
A troll rushes forward to Licornah
Troll 3 rushes to Indigo, clawing at his upper arm and head and biting him on top of the head and moderately wounding him.
Indigo hits Troll 3 with his short swords on the neck, forearm and head, critically wounding him.

Youtargim: Brings over a lit torch to Licornah
Licornah: :: nods and thanks Youtargim as she takes the torch to light the troll ::
Zayden tries to hit Troll 1 with his dagger but misses.
Howard Plum: [CAST] Magic Missile [at Troll 1]

Youtargim goes to carry another torch back to the rest of the group
Zayden: Burns the troll
Zayden: look at that troll burn...
Howard Plum: Unless we have to burn the headless one I think we are good to be going on our way
Thistle: Doesn't hurt at this point, right?
Bixi Fizzlebang: Well that was extremely unpleasant
Howard Plum: We should burn it since we have torches out
Raelynn: grabs torch to go burn the other one
Howard Plum: Think they are like lizards. The can grow back their heads too I believe
Raelynn: Eww gross.
Howard Plum: It takes longer than if they were just incapacitated
Raelynn: Yes yes, but they can regenerate from just... a head??
Howard Plum: I believe so
