BOB Hello there Michael
Talwin: Hey there
Michael (Talwin): Sorry doing last minute reading. We are all going to die. LOL
BOB LOL

BOB So there are lots of options
Michael (Talwin): Dear god. That's the problem Bob
Michael (Talwin): The more options we have, the more things usually go to shit fast
Michael (Talwin): Because we all don't want to step on each other's toes
Michael (Talwin): And then we get frustrated and say just do it
Michael (Talwin): LOL
Michael (Talwin): Honestly, after reading, if no one is snatching that +3 Plate Armor, I'm down with that
Michael (Talwin): After that, Charm (in the game) and Pray (In real life) is all I got
Michael (Talwin): I even dedicated time this week trying to brainstorm, but Carissa and Lisa took a good lead on that. I just wish we could nail down WHO is going where.
BOB You should be thinking about as Talwin Is it better to go with Branwyn and help defend her with Hell, OR stay outside to help her by making sure you can survive to take care of the kids.
BOB That is one of the RP moments tonight, deciding the Regent while Branwyn is gone
Michael (Talwin): See, I can't bob. Because I don't know WHO is going where. If there is not so great a fighting force remaining at the Inn, then of course Talwin is. On the other hand, if no one will be going with Branwny to even the scales for fighting, then Talwin should go there. I really hoped everyone else would chime in with where they wanted their characters, but to be fair I was kind of in the same boat
Michael (Talwin): Regent? Ah, duh
Michael (Talwin): Let's just hope it doesn't come to that lol
BOB Exactly the point for tonight
BOB and so next session the plan is to open the gate or that be the cliff hanger tonight
Michael (Talwin): Then Yes, I'm glad to get that nailed down. The only and I mean only problem with Hell is that wherever we end up Talwin might not be any good fighting in hell to begin with. In which case, why go?
Michael (Talwin): But yep yep.
BOB It is supposed to be hard dangerous heroic
BOB and when it is all over we have the relaxing Intermediate Era
BOB No reason to solve this in one session
Michael (Talwin): Yeah, but hard dangerous and heroic is not equivelent with Suicidal in my book ....
BOB The most suicidal was offered and rejected. Jenn asked Branwyn to just jump to Hell when they first arrived back at the Inn
Michael (Talwin): I mean, don't get me wrong I'm not giving up, but with the rules as they are with hell, kinda hard to want to engage as much as usual
BOB 100% you cannot use basic attack ideas and survive
Talwin: Anyhoo, going to get a drink and pull up a secondary monitor. Will need some soothing music tnnight
BOB go
Michael (Talwin): And no shit?
Michael (Talwin): LOL
BOB Quote
Michael (Talwin): Anyhow, I'm back sorry. I'm just still reading and working out of my notebook. I'm here if you need something
BOB This will be fun
BOB seriously
Michael (Talwin): I shall reserve judgement :)
BOB a grand adventure
BOB LOL
Michael (Talwin): Oh it will def be that.
Michael (Talwin): I just reserve judgement on the rest :)
BOB Then after this is over, and the short rest, we move to the new Era
Michael (Talwin): Ahem, if anyone is left alive
BOB Desert or other options
Michael (Talwin): :)
BOB Very true
Bixi Fizzlebang's health adjusted by +40
Indigo's health adjusted by +20
Michael (Talwin): I will say I love the Elixer of Heroic Action (Not for Fighters). It's like the very fast read at the end of a car commercial with dissapointing informaiton
BOB 40grins
BOB grins

BOB Hello TMO
Michael (Talwin): Hi TMO! :)
TMO: howdy howdy
BOB How has the week been?
TMO: hectic
TMO: I've had far better ones
TMO: you?
TMO: and Michael, how's yours been?
BOB Things are good, today was off, tomorrow is a full one at a YMCA event first in the morning
TMO: you have the dance moves memorized?
BOB LOL
TMO: there's a couple of characters I've marked that you can delete, btw
Michael (Talwin): It's been okay :) BTW I graudate the day of Bobs Party, so Bob you better be ready for dress up and to bestow a diploma. They finally nailed down the "estimated date" Which better damn well mean that is the day
Michael (Talwin): And sorry for the hectic TMO
BOB grins
Michael (Talwin): :)
TMO: trying to spruce up the house a bit so it might sell, and the handyman I hired to come out has spent most of his time in the ER. ;) Inconvenient for me, much worse for him. But it's made my week hectic trying to do stuff on my own, as a non-handy-man.

Michael (Talwin): I'm sorry man :( You plan on moving someplace in particular? If you'd like to live in the middle of nowhere, got plenty of space up here.... :)
Michael (Talwin): I mean, not much else, but space is good
TMO: heh. Waco/McGregor TX is the target
TMO: and I've had quite enough of living in the middle of GD nowhere thankyouverymuch. :P
BOB HAH
Michael (Talwin): Waco eh? That's where we get our Tymco sweepers. Good place. Good Chicken Fried Steak :)
BOB deleted those TMO
Michael (Talwin): Hehe. Maybe one day I'll feel that way again, but for now, I despise Urban environments so much.
TMO: 15 years in a town of 3k. They had to pass a rule to include the population of the prison to get over 5k to qualify for some sort of government thing.
BOB huh
Michael (Talwin): huh
Michael (Talwin): Well a couple people died this this past year, so we are at I think 284 People
Michael (Talwin): But we also don't have a prison
Michael (Talwin): Shrugs
Michael (Talwin): :)
BOB WOW
'Lorie' connected
Michael (Talwin): I get all the socializing I need a tthe General Store. That's how bad I was getting with anxiety and loud noises
BOB Hey there Lorie
Michael (Talwin): But now work has me travelling more, so I'm in Phoenix quite a bit again
Michael (Talwin): Hi Lorie!
Michael (Talwin): Glad to see you!
Lorie: :: waves :: Howdy
Lorie: Happy Friday
Lorie: We made it!
Michael (Talwin): It is a Happy Friday because we did make it! :)
Michael (Talwin): lol
TMO: Hi!
Lorie: Hey TMO - How are you?
Michael (Talwin): He's become handy-man TMO this past week :)
TMO: One more NPC to delete Bob. Sorry, accidentally dragged a level of the wrong class onto it
BOB Lorie you will be here next week and out the week after right?
BOB Off to delete
Lorie: I'm out the 11th - going to see Xix
TMO: Surviving so far Lorie, but that's about it.
Lorie: err Six
'Lisa' connected
Lorie: :: nod :: I get it TMO... I truly do
TMO: how are you holding up?
BOB Hey there Lisa
BOB and so Lorie you will not be here on the 12th
Lorie: I have come out on the other side of several rough weeks in a row
BOB Just adjusting similar to Spring
'Spring' connected
Lorie: Yes, I put it on the site
Michael (Talwin): Jeeze. I am sorry guys :(
BOB Speaking of
Lorie: Evening Lisa!
Michael (Talwin): Keep holding in there
BOB there we are, Spring!
Lorie: Personally, things are great...work is roughhhhh :)
Lorie: Evening Spring!
Lorie: You too... traveling can be hard on your body and mind!
TMO: Hi Lisa! Hi Spring!
Michael (Talwin): My bad, computer froze up a bit. Hi LIsa, Hi SPring haha
Michael (Talwin): hope you guys are holding in there too! :)
Spring: \scaleui 00
Spring: leui 00
Spring: \scaleui 00
Michael (Talwin): Guys is Spring doing the right command?
Lisa: Hello all! Update took longer than usual for me

BOB That is the map that Lanek is on
Lorie: Evening Carissa
Talwin: \scaleui 100
Lisa: it's a forward slash
BOB DOH for not reading everything, Sorry Spring
Michael (Talwin): Yep, that's it Spring
Lisa: grrr when I type a forward slash I get a bunch of stuff spewed at me
'Lemon' connected
Host (v4.3.8) is running different version than client (v4.3.7).
BOB I know that feeling Lisa
TMO: Hi Carissa!
BOB Hello Lemon,
TMO: Hi Lemon!
Carissa: Hi all!
Lorie: Hey Lemon - Happy Friday
Spring: `
Spring: 65
BOB If you have any problem Lemon, you are running one version behind
Lisa: Hi Carissa and Lemon :)
TMO: Carissa - you and I should probably hop on voice for a moment so you can help me identify which Guild member you want to kill.
BOB LOL
BOB Quote
Michael (Talwin): lol
'Lemon' disconnected
Carissa: All of them.
Michael (Talwin): If it's the Theives guild, run a cost-benefit analysis
'Lemon' connected
BOB Ilero will tell you it is NOT a thieves guild, it is an adventurers guild that specializes in scouting
BOB Welcome back Lemon
GM: DOH for not reading everything, Sorry Spring
Michael (Talwin): Well yes, the Mafia doesn't just say they are the Mafia, they say they are a family-run restaurantuer organization...
BOB An excellent place to get canolles
Lemon: That was a heck of a statement to log in on
Michael (Talwin): It's like that space on the IRS income form where you can put how much of your money was obtained illegally. Do you just fill that out?
Michael (Talwin): Man
BOB smiles with Lemon
Michael (Talwin): I mean, I do, but that's because I don't cheat the IRS ;) LOL
Michael (Talwin): Now Lemon's login joke has ended haha. Welcome Lemon! :)
Spring: okay i can see now
BOB Very glad Spring
Lemon: lol thanks
Spring: also i need to set my other keyboard on fire
Spring: 2 no longer works and t is a toss up
Michael (Talwin): Did you set at 150 Spring? That's the best bang for my buck on my end I Think. My poor eyes can't handle to much less
BOB so like TMO's
Spring: i'm at 140 on the laptop screen but as soon as i hook the projector back up, i'm gonna need all 200
BOB Not sure how high it goes
Michael (Talwin): BRB 2 min
BOB So as Carissa and TMO organize the list of characters
BOB Ideas from anyone on using the Gate scrolls
Lisa: in the original scale note I had pinned it goes to 400
TMO: Bob - pls release Tieran Guild Thief 3 for Carissa
BOB Yes to TMO
BOB Free for Carissa to kill now
Lisa: release the thief kraken
TMO: and at some point I'll go through and level up the other Guild members. Just.... not right now, unless someone wants one.
BOB I healed everyone from the practice combat last session
BOB Lemon did you have any inspirations now that you know Bixi can THWACK things?
Lemon: nope
Talwin: lol
BOB I do think that Branwyn and Ilero and or anyone else should be having a RP moment to discuss the Regency while Branwyn is on her adventure
BOB Also the RP about what to do if the Hell group disapears, how long to wait etc.
Michael (Talwin): Really that's kind of Branwnys choice
BOB Also what do you think about for late fees?
GM: I do think that Branwyn and Ilero and or anyone else should be having a RP moment to discuss the Regency while Branwyn is on her adventure
Lisa: sorry
BOB The last time she disapeared by default Jilly got Ilero to be the Regent, to keep Jenn and others away from the Estate
Lisa: can't scroll in chat
Michael (Talwin): Hey, we are the glorified verion of FedEx delivering a package, we aren't responsible for Late Fees
'Spring' disconnected
BOB When the Gates close behind you keep telling your self that Talwin
Michael (Talwin): I will, don't worry
Michael (Talwin): :)
BOB Don't pay the ferry man, don't even fix a price, don't pay the ferry man, until he gets you to the other side
BOB No one will remember that one
Michael (Talwin): Nope
Lemon: It's like that... what is it, frog and scorpion?
Michael (Talwin): Sorry :)
BOB Yes to Lemon
Lisa: Bixi is in charge of collecting a library rock or something so we can teleport back without a gate scroll whenever we want to go back
BOB That is another great analogy
Lemon: Bixi has a very extensive rock collection and will be more than happy to collect a rock so long as it's not currently on fire.
TMO (Tieran Guild Thief 3): Carissa asked me to level up Unnamed Guild member #9. Is there a quick way to generate stats in FGU?
BOB No
BOB Just roll the dice
Michael (Talwin): Unnamed Guild Member. My gosh. Do they wear Red Shirts too?
Tieran Guild Thief 3: [3d6 = 11]
Tieran Guild Thief 3: [3d6 = 9]
BOB For you Michael (LINK)
(LINK)
Tieran Guild Thief 3: [3d6 = 11]
Tieran Guild Thief 3: [3d6 = 11]
Tieran Guild Thief 3: [3d6 = 9]
Shi'Nynze: (this feels rigged)
GM: For you Michael (LINK)
Tieran Guild Thief 3: [3d6 = 13]
BOB Those are good average stats for an NPC
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): (well I suppose that's what we're going for - average)
Michael (Talwin): Wow bob. Blast from the past.
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): (so hard to choose which goes where)
Michael (Talwin): :)
Michael (Talwin): I have heard this before, just been a very long time
BOB I do like the image of Bixi poking around, Nope too hot, NOPE way too hot, ahhh just right
Michael (Talwin): lol
BOB But Lisa also has a very good point, your first trip might not solve this
BOB Imagine that
Michael (Talwin): I'm not doing a Thrid time is tradition on this one
Michael (Talwin): lol
BOB LOL
Lisa: you might just want to visit one day
Lorie: There is no possiblity of making additional scrolls?
Lisa: not gate scrolls
Lemon: Or you might want to send someone else there one day
Lisa: would copying a gate scroll take 5 years off someone's life?
BOB Chapter Two has all the things about creating magic items
BOB Yes to Lisa
Lisa: so no
TMO (Tieran Guild Thief 3): get the elves to do it
Lisa: better to grab something in the library that would make travelling there straight with the medallion a thing
Lisa: sure if the elves want to that's fine
Lisa: but thought the elves were busy making holy water
Michael (Talwin): Elves gonna do what Elves gonna do. Holy Water, Years off life, it's all magical :)
BOB chuckles
'Spring' connected
Lorie: We could just use the priest spell ... uplift might help a priest gain a 7th level spell ..
BOB Welcome back Spring
BOB You do have access to many priests, Spring has two high level ones who have lots of acolytes
Michael (Talwin): Spring! Bring forth all minions!
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): (side note as I add spells: gimme some berries so you can get some goodberries for hell)
Bixi Fizzlebang: Change Self
Bixi Fizzlebang: Phantasmal Force
Bixi Fizzlebang: Spook
BOB I think that was a request for a Botany check Bixi
'Tieran Guild Thief 3' is at 'Heavy' encumbrance. Movebase now 4.
'Tieran Guild Thief 3' is at 'Normal' encumbrance. Movebase now 12.
'Tieran Guild Thief 3' is at 'Moderate' encumbrance. Movebase now 6.
'Tieran Guild Thief 3' is at 'Heavy' encumbrance. Movebase now 4.
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): I should not need a botany check for Carissa to get berries
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): (second side note as I look through spells: if we don't have a date timeline, what if we wait for it to rain at the inn? then hold the weather...?)
Lorie: There are downsides ot the priest version of gate -- it makes a bit of noise to attract attention
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): nah Bran can cantrip them, but if Bixi can add more, I'm good with that, too
BOB It would be to make sure you find berries that are going to be fresh at the right time for the trip
BOB and you can do weather things too Carissa
BOB and yes to Lorie, also you are not certain which type of scroll you have, no one asked Jenn specifically yet
BOB But the current guess is Priest
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): I don't see a spell in her list (yet) to change the weather, but Shi can hold the weather at whatever it is; just a thought
'Spring' disconnected
Lorie: The other problem... we have to have a name...
Lorie: we don't know that
BOB You do have A name
BOB just not the name of the Librarian
Lorie: is it the right name...sorry, should have clarified
BOB Plus you have things like the Crystal Ball, and other spell resources
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): so we talk up the next devil and see if we can get more
BOB I will reassure on one point Carissa brought up earlier yes spells work from inside The Mist to the outside of The Mist
BOB BUT you have to be able to cast the spell in The Mist for it to work
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): yes figured that but thanks for clarifying
BOB so Divination as an example does not work in The Mist but does work at the Inn
'Spring' connected
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): well not sure I know any Divination spells you can just... toss at people from across the way
BOB But a Fireball from The Mist into the Inn would work
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): "You look like a Leo! Are you a Leo? I can't tell from here!"
BOB warm chuckle, some might have a radius, and woudl be cut off at the gates to the Inn
Michael (Talwin): Well, you're certainly no Di'Caprio
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): lol
BOB That is ok everyone is over 20 here
Lorie: Safe from Leo and Matt... we are truly blessed
BOB Chuckles
Talwin: lol
BOB Spring are you feeling connected?
Lisa: updated party pack and home base
BOB Thanks
'Tieran Guild Thief 3' is at 'Normal' encumbrance. Movebase now 12.
Lisa: hell people should look at party pack
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): ok you almost have my full attention now; Shi has spells, just finishing thief but can pay attention to chat now
Lisa: see if I am missing anything
Lisa: I'm bringing only a 100gp gem and no cash
TMO: bolt
Link: Party Pack
TMO (Tieran Guild Thief 3): ignore that.
Lisa: no room scroll in case we don't come back
Lisa: or spy glass
Lisa: only PC people going to hell are bixi, fives and licornah
BOB We know Bixi can bash things, Fives will talk his way out of things,
Lisa: bringing the cordial of kindness in case we get offered a drink and I can slip the librarian a dose of niceness :)
Lisa: like we would be allowed to drink in the library ...
BOB Lorie ideas on ways for Licornah to get back if Branwyn is not able to bring people?
BOB LOL with Lisa
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): yesss
Lisa: I put the gate scroll in
Lisa: we take the extra scroll to get back
BOB That is not how they work
Lisa: if the outside people want to close the gate then they can dispel magic it sut
BOB You open the scroll summoning an extra planular being
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): "Put the gate scroll in, take the gate scroll out, put the gate scroll in, and shake it all about."
BOB Do you have a plan on who you are going to summon?
BOB to help you in Hell?
Lisa: so we summon Talwin and then go through the open gate
BOB grins
Lisa: like we want the librarian to do
BOB You hear that Michael
Michael (Talwin): hahahah
Michael (Talwin): Yep
Michael (Talwin): :D
BOB Lisa sidesteps it nicely
BOB Of course that means Talwin has to NOT be in The Mist
Michael (Talwin): So inn
Lisa: the gate will open for the summoning whether talwin immediately steps in or not
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): Gerry
Lisa: otherwise we won't be able to open the gate for the librarian either
BOB Cannot summon a creature that is in The Mist it blocks all those things
User has gone AFK. (Carissa)
User has gone AFK. (Carissa)
Spring: ok i think i'm back now
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): I believe I've finished Unnamed Guild Member #9 as far as I can take it. Bob, please release the character to Carissa (again)
Michael (Talwin): Also general check with peeps. Has anyone snatched the +3 Plate Mail for this Encounter(s) if no, Talwin dibs
BOB I see Ranger 2 and Ranger 2 TMO
Shurkural Sauscha: Tieran Guild Thief 3
Lorie: All yours... I am not sure I'm going to be able to hit anything and hope to not have to dodge anything
BOB Released
BOB almost deleted
TMO (Shurkural Sauscha): sorry, didn't rename to standard pattern
BOB to save Carissa the effort
TMO (Shurkural Sauscha): well, I *could* have built it all again
TMO (Shurkural Sauscha): I need my own line in the character icons up top
BOB LOL
BOB I wonder if it scrolls when it fills up
TMO (Craigh): I bet not
TMO (Craigh): I can find out though
BOB I do have another Devil Encounter ready also
Lisa: if the outside group closes the first gate there is no reason why they would not go inside the Inn area where it is sunny
BOB Spring if you want to RP or add things from Kenna or Snee feel free to add them
Lisa: how much holy water can the hell group have
Lisa: ?
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): I'm sorry, but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to finish tonight. I'm literally falling asleep in my chair
Spring:
TMO (Unnamed Ranger 3 (TG)): yep, it absolutely doesn't wrap the icons to the next line
Spring: nope
BOB Lemon what do you want to know and or confirm before heading into Hell next session?
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): brb - going to get a drink refill
Spring: sorry, i mean nope it doesnt wrap
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Nothing?
Spring: i haven't been thinking about kenna or snee or even lanek lately
User has gone AFK. (TMO)
BOB To remind everyone once we start the "Event" we will click off round by round
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): I'm going to try to take a nap and then come back, but I make no promises. This might just be sleep for the night.
BOB so Spring, if you are here great if not you get to move at the end of which ever round
Lisa: I want to know how much holy water we can take, who wants to be charmed before going to hell and probably other stuff
Spring: was the holy water a serious question? i didnt see an answer
'Lemon' disconnected
Michael (Talwin): I want to be charmed/chanted/blessed/whatever possible
BOB for Lorie with Licornah in Hell it will be more difficult but doable
Spring: good luck Lemon
Spring: hope you get a lot of rest whether you get back or not
BOB and Yes to Spring that Holy Water question was real
Lisa: thought you were staying outside Michael
Spring: i would expect we are limited by 1. encumbrance and 2. time
Lisa: this is a charm spell to make sure people's heads are on straight and they don't spend years in hell
BOB You have time, months actually
Lisa: don't need if you aren't going in
BOB and yes to Lisa on that charm spell
Michael (Talwin): Okay, then perfect :)
Licornah: Sorry what do you mean about hell? that I won't hit or be able to dodge well? I know...
Spring: so the party who are going should decide how much encumbrance they want to spend on holy water :-)
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): (sorry needed food back)
BOB Spring did you see that portion? charming the people who go to Hell so they all believe what Branwyn says when she states how much time has passed
Lisa: how much does it weigh?
Lisa: can non priests toss it?
Spring: i did not see that part
BOB Anyone can toss it
Michael (Talwin): I know Talwin ins't going, but can't we just take her word for it?
Spring: a pint is a pound the whole world round
Lisa: you have to believe it with your whole being
Michael (Talwin): Like, bonds of friendship our friend is'nt bullshitting us or something
Michael (Talwin): The world is FLAT Spring
Michael (Talwin): :)
Spring: a pint is a pound to toss the whole entire world across
BOB and that is the key question Michael... Jenn has said that Time moves in Hell for how it feels for you that it moves... so if you feel like you have been there an Eternity then.... but if you feel like it all passed by in seconds then......
Michael (Talwin): LOL
Michael (Talwin): Then you better hope your friend isn't bullshitting you....
Michael (Talwin): :(
Michael (Talwin): :)
BOB So the Charm is an attempt to regulate that to one person's perception
Michael (Talwin): Yes, yes
Lisa: you have to make it real
Spring: and hope the one person doesn;t get demoralized
Michael (Talwin): Or forget about Daylight Savings
BOB Or Talwin thinks he spend a century there, Branwyn says it was seconds and Bixi is like, That was all a bad dream when I was a kid
Lisa: so the person doing the charming has to go to hell?
BOB and the ultimate party plit
Michael (Talwin): LOL
BOB Everyone will believe the person who charmed them
Licornah: I can't be charmed... Is there an alternative? :D
BOB You charming everyone
Michael (Talwin): Charmed
Lisa: so Rae could do it in advance telling them they'll be back in 30 minutes if they go?
Lorie (Licornah): Enthralls all around!
BOB You can always choose to forego that too
Carissa: Rae is happy to charm
BOB I will neither confirm nor deny that Lisa
Michael (Talwin): Can't hurt to try
Carissa: Since elves are 90% resistent... can they choose to be charmed? Or just... keep trying?
Carissa: Accept it like a normal spell, whatever wording I'm trying to use here
Lisa: Bran was going to have a conversation with Tiberius - she's happy to try to mind control the others too :)
BOB They can choose
User is back. (TMO)
BOB grins with Lisa
Carissa: Ok so Licornah should be okay if she chooses unless she wants to do it herself
BOB TMO is back
BOB Ilero and Branwyn should have a conversation
Ilero Sauscha: Hokay.
Lisa: "the talk"
BOB Along with who ever else Branwyn wants
Lorie (Licornah): Mine isn't racial, it's deity-driven, but perhaps :)
Carissa: you mean with the otters
Lisa (Branwyn): :)
BOB warm smile
Lisa (Branwyn): Anyone who wants to be around can be
BOB At the Manor house? or the Guild lighthouse? or?
Branwyn: Ilero, I can't believe I am doing this again so soon
BOB OR goddess forbid at the church
Michael (Talwin): Preferablly where they can join in on any emergency action....
Lisa (Branwyn): (like Bran is climbing the lighthouse!)
Ilero Sauscha: T'is time, at least, have some advance warning.
Michael (Talwin): I'm not doing Fourth time is Insanity either bob
BOB LOL Michael
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): lol
Branwyn: This should be a short trip. Not like the trip to the elf afterlife disaster
Jilly Ognorn: How short?
Ilero Sauscha: You t'ink? Or you hope?
Branwyn: I refuse to let a little interplanar journey deprive me of more years
Michael (Talwin): Oh god. I know that accent....
Michael (Talwin): :)
Branwyn: I just won't
Branwyn: Some times you just need to decide
Ilero Sauscha: nods
Branwyn: But in a worst case scenario ...
Branwyn: There is no one else I would trust to be regent to the estate for my children
Branwyn: Jilly and Nevin I love dearly but I do not want that placed upon them
Jilly Ognorn: I have to be able to come rescue you
Branwyn: smiles
Nevin Ognorn: I could work on locking her up
Jilly Ognorn: Regor showed me a few things
Branwyn: Really, I see no reason why I won't be back quickly
Ilero Sauscha: Hokay. Worst case, neit'er you nor Tiberius come back. Hye regent t'en, until which child old enough? Demi?
Branwyn: Dahlia is oldest. She can take it when she is of age and then decide what she wants to do
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): (Dahlia isn't in the character list for some reason, couldn't remember her name ;) )
Lisa (Branwyn): it's ok
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): knew it started with a D, but that was it. ;)
Ilero Sauscha: Dahlia. Does Queen have to hokay t'at, or is automatic?
Jilly Ognorn: I will make her agree
Branwyn: She will need to be informed but I believe I have power over succession in my estate
Branwyn: smiles at Jilly
Ilero Sauscha: nods
Jilly Ognorn: We have kept Jistille safe for her
Ilero Sauscha: Hanyt'ing special you want done? Priorities? Hor just keep it all going?
Jilly Ognorn: She owes you
Branwyn: I wish you could go with me. I miss heading into danger with you, my friend
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): (those don't sound right)
Jilly Ognorn: I know
Ilero Sauscha: shakes his head.
Branwyn: No undead in hell, right?
Jilly Ognorn: I thought they were all undead? the souls of the damned
Branwyn: But they aren't undead like zombies and ghouls
Shrugs
Ilero Sauscha: T'is afterlife.
Branwyn: Yes
Shi'Nynze: And not a good one.
Michael (Talwin): Depends on who is on top
Michael (Talwin): It could be a very good afterlife for some...
Ilero Sauscha: shrugs.
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): Even on top, do I wanna be one fire literally every day of my life??
Ilero Sauscha: Hye hope only t'ose deserving go t'ere.
Michael (Talwin): As branwny is about to go there...
Branwyn: Like me?
Michael (Talwin): lol
Ilero Sauscha: You not dead. Hye meant dead people.
THROWS a spoon at Ilero
Branwyn: laughs
Shi'Nynze: You'll be back.
Ilero Sauscha: [CHECK] Dexterity (vs. Target 17) [SUCCESS by 12] [d20 = 5]
BOB Nice
Ilero Sauscha: ducks the spoon.
BOB That is a catch if you want
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): sure, why not?
Ilero Sauscha: catches the spoon.
'Spring' disconnected
Branwyn: Nicely done
Branwyn: Careful there Jilly
'Spring' connected
Jilly Ognorn: If he is going to be worthy of taking your place... temporarily..... he better be
Ilero Sauscha: Training.
BOB It's all in the reflexes
Branwyn: Thank you Shi. I do plan on coming back
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): (wow. totally could *not* find Shi's comment Branwyn was responding too.)
Lisa (Branwyn): did Shi make healing potions?
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): (why do cats only toss up hairballs when their stomachs are full??)
Lisa (Branwyn): you'll be back like the terminator
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): (I don't know.,.. did she Bob?)
Michael (Talwin): Odd change of Subject
Michael (Talwin): no idea?
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): lol
Lorie (Licornah): (I'm singing Hamilton... "You'll be back...")
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): (I had to step away to clean barf, lol)
BOB Michael missed another ancient comment
Michael (Talwin): Made within th e 8 years? If not, yes I missed it
Lisa (Branwyn): my cat threw up a hairball on the foot rest for my desk that I discovered after stepping on it - yay! gotta love hairball season in cat town
BOB and yes to Shi creating potions, she had 6 months so Carissa can do the math on how many
BOB It's all in the relexes when Ilero caught the spoon
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): *TMO can do the math
Michael (Talwin): Gotcha
Lisa (Branwyn): how long does it take to make 1 potion?
BOB Chapter 2, grins
Shi'Nynze: I do not think I'm still ready to face another version of death, but I did make you some potions to help you for your trip, Branwyn.
BOB it depends
Talwin: every time you ask, the price goes up
Michael (Talwin): every time you ask, the price goes up
BOB For Michael (LINK)
(LINK)
Branwyn: Thank you so much. We have so many people in danger, any help for healing is so much appreciated
Ilero Sauscha: chuckles.
Shi'Nynze: And I had thought... I must keep protecting the forest, and that would mean watching the gate. If you are willing to give me the details of your trip... perhaps you'd like to use the wand again? It may help.
Ilero Sauscha: Where you want cenotaph to be?
Branwyn: perks up
Branwyn: The wand of wonder?
Branwyn: You would lend me it?
Michael (Talwin): Nice bob
Branwyn: Cenotaph
Michael (Talwin): just watched lol
Branwyn: ?
Ilero Sauscha: Gravesite wit' no body.
Ilero Sauscha: grins at Branwyn.
Branwyn: frowns
Ilero Sauscha: Just in case...
Spring: the cenotaph is where to the put the epitaph
Shi'Nynze: Yes. My family believes I can use it. Well, no. My father and uncle know not, but they are not offended by lending it out. It may be of use.
Shi'Nynze: I'Osu would find that a grand place for it to be used.
Branwyn: If I borrow it, that will make sure I will come back to return it
Shi'Nynze: smiles
Shi'Nynze: I hope you come back with a perfect story for it.
Branwyn: And Ilero you can just put a plaque on my tower
Ilero Sauscha: Pfft... boring.
Branwyn: I will Shi
Michael (Talwin): Bob, I can't believe I watched that entire clip. I suppose I should just watch the damn movie
Branwyn: I can always leave it to you then to decide. If I'm dead I won't be complaining
Ilero Sauscha: shrugs.
Ilero Sauscha: Hokay.
Branwyn: laughs
Shi'Nynze: Le merna salk. Give them a good dance in Hell.
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): dance with the devil in the pale moonlight?
BOB It is a fun movie Michael
Shi'Nynze: pulls wand from pocket and hands it over.
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): don't know that quote but sure
Ilero Sauscha: Better you t'an me.
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): Batman, Carissa. Batman!
Michael (Talwin): Just bought it. I'll watch later
Branwyn: takes it carefully and lets it rest in her hands
Branwyn: I will. Thank you
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): oh... I might have maybe know that, butI don't watch things so...
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): the first one, with Keaton and Nicholson
Michael (Talwin): No worries Carissa, we all do our thing. But you should watch Batman lol. I'll watch Big Trouble in Little China and we'll have reached our Quota for the month
Shi'Nynze: I will work on some more holy water if you are good with the potions. And I'll be waiting outside the gates in the Mist for you to return.
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): (Shi needs a accent so it's easier to come back to her voice like Ilero :P)
Ilero Sauscha: Any idea if Brer going to show up? You said you sent message, yes?
Branwyn: I did, but I am not sure he would ever come when I call after how we left things
Branwyn: He wanted to go after Drake and I said I wouldn't support him so ...
Ilero Sauscha: He not say anyt'ing t'e couple times he come t'rough while you was in t'e Elflands. So maybe he not too upset.
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): (still not 100% accurate here either)
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): lol rusty us
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): I'm over simplifying his grammar
Branwyn: Was he well? Had he killed any good vampires?
Michael (Talwin): He got better :)
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): oh well close enough?
Ilero Sauscha: shrugs.
Ilero Sauscha: He didn't say. Just came, said Hi, passed t'rough, left again. Couple of times.
Branwyn: Odd
Michael (Talwin): Pissed he didn't come say to Talwin
Ilero Sauscha: nods.
Michael (Talwin): I'll have to slap him when I see him again
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): (Talwin was in the Elflands too)
Michael (Talwin): Oh duh
Michael (Talwin): LOL
Michael (Talwin): Man
Branwyn: I do hope he is well wherever he is
Shi'Nynze: Thistle was hoping he'd stay longer.
Shi'Nynze: But perhaps she's another reason he didn't...
Ilero Sauscha: shrugs.
Branwyn: chuckles
Ilero Sauscha: Hye not sure why he come back so often. No vampires here.
Ilero Sauscha: T'at we know of, anyways.
BOB Thistle did come through Dragon Fen months ago and is now (presumedly) in Ghostwood
Branwyn: I hope he was passing through to see Sundown
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): (ugh NOW you tell me)
Ilero Sauscha: nods.
Ilero Sauscha: T'at probably is a good reason. Maybe hye should ask around.
Ilero Sauscha: Shi, have t'e gods said anyt'ing to you about t'is trip at all? Any signs or oracles?
Shi'Nynze: shrugs
Shi'Nynze: Solonor doesn't concern himself with the future.
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): copycat
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): copycat
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): stop copying me!
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): you stop copying me!
Lisa (Branwyn): lol
Michael (Talwin): LOL
Ilero Sauscha: Typical. Would be nice to have some hints.
Shi'Nynze: You would have to ask another deity. Hints would be nice.
Branwyn: But that would ruin the surprise!
Ilero Sauscha: T'ats hokay wit' me.
Shi'Nynze: I wonder how else we can help... perhaps you have some guild members you want to send to Hell?
Shi'Nynze: We'll keep it secret from you so you stay surprised.
Ilero Sauscha: chuckles.
Ilero Sauscha: You has *no* idea!
Shi'Nynze: smiles
Shi'Nynze: Maybe don't send all of them.
Ilero Sauscha: Like herding cats sometimes.
Ilero Sauscha: Hye'll ask if anyone willing.
Shi'Nynze: nods
Shi'Nynze: The wolves are easier to herd than the cats N'laea left at the forest.
Shi'Nynze: Oh! If you have some berries before you leave, I can enchant those for you as well. I worry you won't have enough healing.
Shi'Nynze: Although, I don't believe you'll give them a chance to make you need it.
BOB (LINK)
(LINK)
Branwyn: That would be lovely
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): would be willing to bet they'll lose their enchantment as soon as you step through the Gate, btw
Shi'Nynze: Oh! If you have some berries before you leave, I can enchant those for you as well. I worry you won't have enough healing.
Shi'Nynze: I will have to brainstorm more. That which takes time has mostly been done, but I'm sure I have a spell or two to help.
Michael (Talwin): Apologies, BRB. ETA 10 minutes
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): (didn't think of that but eh worth a try)
Branwyn: You have been such a big help. Are you sure you don't want to come with us?
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): they'll still be useful on this side of the Gate though
Shi'Nynze: laughs
Shi'Nynze: You haven't convinced me yet, although you have time still to try it sounds like. Unless it was ilero you're telling to go to Hell.
Branwyn: laughs
Branwyn: No of course not. But I do miss adventuring with you both
Ilero Sauscha: nods.
Branwyn: Makes me feel like I should be home and settled instead of running around through gates to hell
Shi'Nynze: Yes, those are fond memories. This only gives you more drive to come back, perhaps drag us both out for one more adventure.
Ilero Sauscha: Hye miss it too. But hye is retired, for good reason. Too old, and wit'out t'e Hand, not much good in a fight.
Branwyn: I would like that very much
Shi'Nynze: There are times I miss it, too.
Shi'Nynze: You are good company, Ilero.
Shi'Nynze: I just need to find my courage again. It is almost there.
Branwyn: And I will like to be there when that time comes
Shi'Nynze: smiles
Branwyn: Maybe we can go up to Ghostwood and see Thistle. There is always something brewing up there
Shi'Nynze: You will be. I have faith.
Shi'Nynze: Oh, she would adore that! The forest is too quiet without her.
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): that sounds like a pretty good segue to another scene, unless there's more for this conversation? Ilero is tapped out I think, unless there are questions for him
Lisa (Branwyn): I'm good
BOB Sounds right
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): yup think I got the important bits in
BOB Without Lemon in hard to do a pep talk to organize the people going into Hell
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): jump to Thistle conversation, or a different one? Anyone got any requests?
BOB but I am ready for you to test ideas
BOB Thistle is an on site retcon type of conversation
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): Carissa - you have your Guild member to play with too
BOB before the group got back from Dyrads Lair
Carissa (Shi'Nynze): yes can introduce him whenever
BOB Ok so Lorie, Lisa, TMO are here
BOB Spring are you here?
Spring: sort of
BOB grins
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): choose any of my 5 to be involved, doesn't matter who
BOB To make sure you are good with the plan, currently Lanek is supposed to be outside of the gates of the Inn
BOB When they open the gate to Hell to summon the librarian
Spring: okie dokes, i like that plan
BOB (LINK)
(LINK)
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): in teh Mist, or in the open air?
Lisa: we don't know what the gate looks like or the librarian's name - do we need to have a Jenn convo?
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): Wife and I both enjoyed that show. I actually made it through the whole thing too. Didn't quit partway through like I do many many shows
BOB And this is where we run :)
Jennevive: Looks around the Manor House
Jennevive: Things look very calm here
Jennevive: Raises an eyebrow at Fives, You even bathed
Branwyn: Why are you so suprised? Everything is ususally calm here
Branwyn: grins
Jennevive: Laughs
Michael (Talwin): back
Fives: Y'all have got actual fresh water here instead of brackish canal water. Of course I bathed.
BOB Talwin and Licornah are here
Jilly Ognorn: Jennevive what are you doing ....
Carissa (Raelynn): (any of mine? or is this an everyone is here convo?)
Jennevive: Here is that jam I promised you Jilly
Jilly Ognorn: Oh well thank you
Branwyn: So we have last minute questions about the gate scrolls
BOB anyone and everyeone can be here
Jennevive: Last minute? are we leaving tonight?
Branwyn: No but soon
Jennevive: I thought to wait until a full moon, much more dramatic
Talwin: Rolls eyes
Spring: heheheh i just actually did roll my eyes
Raelynn: Oooh that's more mysterious and romantic.
Lisa (Branwyn): lol
Michael (Talwin): lol
Jennevive: See your charming Elven gypsy gets it
Michael (Talwin): I do believe we are less concerned about Dramticism and making sure you all come back alive and well. Regent is a dirty word to me
Talwin: I do believe we are less concerned about Dramticism and making sure you all come back alive and well. Regent is a dirty word to me
Raelynn: Gypsy? That's a new one, but yes, I do.
Talwin: No offense to dear Illero
Fives: I don't know if the moon's got anything to do with your magic gate or not, but it's got damn-all to do with what's on the other side of it.
Talwin: Shrugs
Talwin: Shrugs
Talwin: Then start with that
Branwyn: The moon does?
Ilero Sauscha: Hye rat'er not be regent any more eit'er.
Jennevive: Which moon?
Jennevive: Oh you did a fine job last time Ilero
Raelynn: Well both would be the most dramatic, but I suppose either will do.
Jennevive: and this time you do not need to worry about where she is
Jennevive: Perhaps I should let you ask the questions first
Jennevive: then we can answer
Jennevive: What question did you have about the Gate scrolls?
Talwin: Speaking of Regency, passes Illero a parchment roll. "Last will and Testament along with a list of ventures ongoign outside the estate and accounts"
Talwin: Passess
Talwin: Now questions
Talwin: Smiles
Fives: takes it with a nod and stashes it away.
Michael (Talwin): NOT TO FIVES LOL
Fives: whooops
Lisa (Branwyn): lol
Ilero Sauscha: takes it with a nod and stashes it away.
Jennevive: What do you want me to tell you Talwin?
Talwin: Shrugs. "Not me Lady Jennevive"
Talwin: Passes hands
Talwin: Others
Jennevive: That you are a good boy?
Talwin: I'll go where needed
'Shislif' connected
Jennevive: That you are very brave
Talwin: I'll say "Yes, yes I am a good boy"
BOB Welcome Sharif
Raelynn: watches with interest
Talwin: And Yes, "I am a brave boy"
Spring: hi sharif!
Carissa (Raelynn): (Hi Sharif!)
TMO (Ilero Sauscha): hi
Raelynn: I thought you wanted more than that, Talwin.
Jennevive: So what other blandishments do you need Talwin?
Michael (Talwin): Hi Sharif!
Lisa (Branwyn): Hi Sharif :)
Talwin: Once more, not me, the group. I'll deal with events as they come
Jennevive: OH what he wants and what he is prepared to ask for are very different
Raelynn: nods
Talwin: Coughs
Jennevive: The things I could teach you young gypsy elf
Sharif: Hi everybody!
Raelynn: That is very true. He'll need to work up that courage himself, though.
Branwyn: Anyway ... these are priest scrolls and not mage scrolls I take it?
Raelynn: Oh, I bet you could teach me so much! I'm always happy to learn.
Jennevive: you can DRAW the courage out of them
Talwin: I think If I roll my eyes again, they will roll so hard right out of my head
Talwin: BACK to business
Lorie (Licornah): Evening Sharif
Branwyn: looks at Raelynn in surprise
Jennevive: Looks to Branwyn, Yes I was able to .... encourage... the Celstry to give us these two
Fives: Are we here to talk about Hell, or do I have to live through it listening to y'all flirt with each other?
Raelynn: Hmm, you can and sometimes it's worth it, but sometimes you need them to do it themselves.
Shislif: Good evening :)
Shislif: so we on our way to hell?
Talwin: You try flirting with Lady Jenn Fives, I'd pay good money
Spring: not just yet
Spring: getting prepared
Raelynn: Oh, sorry. I do love talking about love, but I suppose that's not why we're here.
Fives: I'd rather cut her throat, thanks.
Jennevive: Looking at Rae, your young captain will learn how you like him to use his sword do not worry about that
Talwin: Grunts
Sharif: cool cool
Branwyn: From what I have read we need the name of the librarian to summon them. I do not know their name
Raelynn: laughs
Talwin: She'd probably like it, then she'd stab your eyes out and heal herself
Sharif: try Bob!
Jennevive: I do not know that name either sadly
Talwin: Sighs
Talwin: Ah
Talwin: I had hoped you would know. You tend to know these things
Jennevive: We do have his assistant's name
Fives: [TOWER] [SKILL] Devil Lore [MOD:INT] (vs. Target 16) [SUCCESS by 1] [d20 = 15]
Branwyn: Okay. I suppose that is better than nothing
Talwin: What kind of assistant? His cook or his Steward?
Talwin: Level matters here
Jennevive: and of course Branwyn has the Demon who borrowed the books name
BOB Yes to TMO
Branwyn: Yes but since we think he is imprisoned I do not think he is able to respond to a summons
Zayden: Perhaps the Demon that borrowed the book would know the name of the librarian?
Zayden: oh neveermind
Talwin: Shrugs
TMO (Fives): just checking to see if there was that 1% chance that Fives had the name somehow. ;)
Talwin: Not a bad idea Zayden
Talwin: Jennivieve?
Jennevive: I am not certain that being imprissoned matters to such a powerful spell
Talwin: Might he?
Raelynn: If only you could contact the plane first before going there.... I wonder if Namsut could do something fancy like that.
Talwin: Suprises
Talwin: Oh
Raelynn: We need more interplanar friends.
Jennevive: You are full of surprises gypsy elf
Zayden: Don't we all Rae
Branwyn: laughs
Talwin: I don't like the ones we have Rae
Spring: that's a quotable quote
Talwin: Even the somewhat benevolent ones don't always turn out well for us
Raelynn: I try to be! Keeps things interesting!
Jennevive: Who is this Namsut? that sounds deliciously other worldly
Carissa (Raelynn): Oh! We helped her at the frozen tower. She's a (can't remember looking)
Michael (Talwin): (Djinn?)
Michael (Talwin): (Can't remember anymore)
Carissa (Raelynn): (no she was fancier than that)
BOB Marid
Carissa (Raelynn): (thanks)
Michael (Talwin): THAT IS A DJINN
Raelynn: A marid!
Michael (Talwin): lol
TMO (Fives): (water djinn)
Raelynn: (Yeah, but Namsut was very specific and Raelynn would be specific for her sake)
Michael (Talwin): sorry :) Just making fun.
Talwin: I have enough trouble remembering things haha
Jennevive: So we have her name, we can summon her with one of these scrolls and then bring her to Hell with us
Michael (Talwin): I have enough trouble remembering things haha
Carissa (Raelynn): (lol it's fair to poke at)
Raelynn: Oh, well that wouldn't be nice. You should just ask her, instead.
TMO (Fives): Djinn are air, efreet are fire, marids are water, can't remember the earth ones for sure. Dao?
Raelynn: She's on our plane. Well, probably.
BOB Yes to TMO
Jennevive: It would not matter what plane she is on
Raelynn: And she's united with her love, and I don't like splitting up lovers.
Jennevive: and the Djinn are resigned to being summoned
Raelynn: nods
Branwyn: I would not waste a scroll to summon someone we can teleport to
Talwin: Thats doesn't make it right to suppon them Jennevive
Raelynn: I don't try to understand them.
Talwin: That's a choice
Raelynn: I don't know if we could convince her, anyways. You'd have to ask Yout. Maybe she has friends though....
Jennevive: I am here to assist Branwyn in returning her book to the Devil that needs it so we can free the Demon and then we can require a favor from him in return
Jennevive: Summoning this Demon will be good enough for me
Talwin: Gods Bran, what could we need a favor from a demon for?
Talwin: Shocked
Branwyn: I don't need a demon favor
Branwyn: If Jenn wants to extract one that is her choice
Fives: At least devils will honor contracts. Demons'll just kill you.
Talwin: Eyes Jennevive
Talwin: Sometimes I worry the favors you collect will cause more problems then they solve
Jennevive: We have a name of a Demon
Raelynn: What kind of favors do Demons grant?
Jennevive: Branwyn has kept that a secret
Jennevive: Good for her
Branwyn: But ... if we summon a demon who has been imprisoned in Hell and give him the book why would he return to Hell?
Fives: Huh. Well, that'll definitely help you.
Branwyn: And I would still have the demon mark
Fives: Still pretty dumb, but I'm used to that from you already.
Talwin: Shrugs
Talwin: You freed him, would it be obligation for a favor provided in advance?
Talwin: Turns to Fives for query
Raelynn: What would bind him to that?
Branwyn: The whole point of this for me is to get rid of the demon mark and I believe the mark came from the librarian and not the demon
Talwin: Nods
Talwin: I had forgotten that
Talwin: My apologies
Fives: With it's name, you can force it into service. True names are powerful things. You regular mortals just don't understand how powerful a true name can be.
Talwin: Could we ask for the name of the LIbrarian and in turn free him? Then we deal with the second part of the problem
Raelynn: Do humans have true names or is that a demon devil thing?
Branwyn: Free him to run around in our world?
Raelynn: Is that why you like the name Fives?
Talwin: Gee Fives, I'm glad we Regular Mortals are so dumb.
Fives: Well, you toss them around so much, I certainly hope not.
Raelynn: Because that is NOT a real name.
Talwin: Starting to have an inkling of Fives
Shislif (Zayden): brb
User has gone AFK. (Shislif)
Talwin: Watching him carefully
Talwin: More like Free him and then banish him back
Talwin: He'll be "Free" in the sense he is no longer imprisoned
Talwin: But not here
Jennevive: Branwyn, you do understand what you just said?
Talwin: In a different plane
Jennevive: The Demon mark the book gave you?
Fives: It's more ignorance than stupidity on this one.
Fives: But you're maybe playing with fire and don't even know it.
Raelynn: Well, isn't that Hell?
Jennevive: Devils is it not Fives?
Talwin: We wouldn't be the first race to do such things Fives. And names may have power, but you have to know the right one. My friends call me Talwin, and that is my title, but names change over time. They have for me, and I have a suspicioun they do for you
Fives: You're absolutely right, missy. That's one of the reasons I use this name.
Talwin: Missy?
TMO (Fives): (his voice is wandering again. got to figure out what it really is)
Jennevive: Yes Demons are from the Abyss, the layers un-numbered of a tangeled web that requires great strength of mind to navigate
Jennevive: Hell is a simple 9 levles
Jennevive: The sort of thing Devils can handle
Branwyn: I think I understand what I am saying Jenn
Raelynn: He means me, Talwin, unless you like being called that, too.
Talwin: Cough
Talwin: My apologies
TMO (Fives): (Fives was responding to Raelynn's comment above. it came in while I was typing, I almost missed it)
Raelynn: smies
Carissa (Raelynn): (glad you didn't!)
Jennevive: So the Demon who borrowed this book marked you, forcing you or who ever picked up the book, to return it to Hell and let the Devils release him
Spring: i find all of that confusing. i have no idea who is talking about what
Fives: So she's demon-marked, or devil-marked?
Lisa (Branwyn): oh I thought it was a mark from the library
Spring: so did i
Raelynn: whispers to Talwin, "Don't worry. I didn't forget your other nickname, Disrespector."
Raelynn: winks
Michael (Talwin): I've been paying attention and i'm confused. Not sure how to approach this
Talwin: Bursts out laughing
Talwin: Bursts out laughing
Talwin: I like that one
Raelynn: Good, so do I.
Talwin: Sigh
Talwin: Simply put
Talwin: What should we do
Branwyn: And the gate scroll can pull this demon out of a prison in hell and deliver him here no matter how they have bound him there?
Jennevive: Perhaps?
Talwin: Eyes Jenn
Branwyn: But you are not sure
Talwin: Level of Confidence
Talwin: What is it?
Jennevive: I do not know the extent of his imprisonment
Talwin: Guess?
Jennevive: It WILL be noticed
Talwin: Nods
Jennevive: We know that, the Gods will not be disuaded
Branwyn: But we do know we can get the assistant librarian here
Jennevive: We have that power in our hands
Jennevive: Yes we should be able to summon Ramiel to us
Fives: I want to say I don't think it'll free it from it's bonds. That kind of magic's way beyond me. But if it were that easy it would've been freed long time ago. I think it'll come in response to the summons, then go back when it's shut off.
Talwin: Slaps hand to face
Talwin: Surely bandying the name about isn't exactly smart Jennevive?
Branwyn: I think I would rather try for the librarian than orchestrate a prison break in hell
Talwin: Agreed
Talwin: Less Chaos at the very least
Jennevive: We are in The Mist, no one outside of this room can hear it
Jennevive: and I am certain that Branwyn can kill anyone who dares spread it around
Talwin: We only THINK that Jenn, we don't know as much as we think we do about the Mist
Talwin: For all we know, the creators of the mist can hear anything said in it
Talwin: Let's not give them any ideas eh?
Jennevive: Looks to Rae, Did your Marid enjoy being here in The Mist?
Fives: That's the demon, though, right?
Raelynn: Not at all! She was much happier when we got to the Inn.
Jennevive: Ramiel is the librarian's assistant
Talwin: Sighs
Fives: Right.
Jennevive: I do wonder, if we summon Branwyn's Demon, and they do arrive here, they get the book and they can return it
Jennevive: At the least she is released from her mark
Jennevive: Correct?
Talwin: Shrugs
Talwin: I don't know the curse
Jennevive: Do you care if the book goes back to the proper owner?
Talwin: I care only for the mark to be gone from Bran and the Protectorate to not face reprecussions. All others consequences are fair game
Talwin: Shrugs at Bran
Talwin: Sorry
Talwin: Not sorry
Fives: She got marked when she opened the book, and is basically geased to return it, on threat of violence if she doesn't? Sounds like the kind of magic that'd end when the quest is complete.
Branwyn: Personally, I could care less. But do I trust a demon to remove the mark. I don't knbow if it is removed automatically by giving it to him or if he needs to remove the curse actively
Raelynn: Who looked into this curse for you? Could they figure out the conditions?
Fives: The demon or devil didn't place it on her in person and say "return the book or I'll never remove the mark?"
Talwin: No, she picked it up randomly in a Library Fives
BOB Lisa is considering
BOB Thinking has the last decade been a lie?
BOB What do we KNOW and what do we THINK
Talwin: Could just ask the Assistant
Raelynn: Is that the true name of the assistant? Would he have to answer you? Can you compel him?
Lisa (Branwyn): this is what Jenn had told us way back in Dryads Lair
TMO (Fives): see if any of the clerics here can study the Mark and determine if it's permanent or 'ends at completion'?
Michael (Talwin): At the very least, the Head Archvist would know and could remove it regardless
Talwin: At the very least, the Head Archvist would know and could remove it regardless
Branwyn: Two Guardians One that guards the location of the book The other attacks until the book is surrendered back Branwyn will continue to be attacked until the book is returned to the first guardian or you kill the second guardian
BOB Exactly
Talwin: But you killed the second guardian
Talwin: You killed many second guardians
Lisa (Branwyn): who are the guardians?
Fives: Probably just sent by the second guardian.
Talwin: Cocks head
Talwin: Considering
BOB You know that a Devil is the one sending the attacks, as they are all from Hell
Lisa (Branwyn): hence the hell hounds :)
Talwin: Then...just ask who the guardians are
Talwin: Surely they want their book back at the very least
BOB And you know that the book has a Demon's name on it
BOB Which brings us to the final choice before using the Gate scrolls
Fives: It don't make much sense to me for the two guardians to be one devil and one demon. They'd never willingly work together on something.
Michael (Talwin): (To bad we can't just transfer the mark to the original theif)
BOB Do you summon the Librarain(assistant) who is sending the attacks, or do you try to summon the Demon who's name is on the book and is the one who Marked Branwyn
Branwyn: I don't want to release a prisoner and open the flood gates for hellish creatures to come out of the gates after him
Branwyn: I think the librarian assistant is the safer choice
Michael (Talwin): Are you confirming that the Librarian Assistant is sending attacks bob? Like, a Gaurdian, so to speak?
TMO (Fives): going to check and see if Fives' thinks that's a plausible scenario
TMO (Fives): did the roll go through?
BOB I am saying that is what the group's information leads you to believe
BOB No to TMO
Fives: [TOWER] [SKILL] Devil Lore [MOD:INT] (vs. Target 16) [SUCCESS by 14] [d20 = 2]
TMO (Fives): there we go. grabbed the wron g bit
Branwyn: the librarian maybe Michael but all we have is the assistant's name for summoning
Branwyn: ooc
Lisa (Branwyn): we would need to summon the asst and ask him to summon the librarian
Michael (Talwin): Okay :) Because otherwise I was like....then just give it back/kill him and we are done LOL
Fives: Well, if the Librarian's assistant is the second guardian, you could just kill it, and stop the attacks.
-> Fives: Fives KNOWS for certain that the Librarian in Hell would be very interested in getting this book back and so yes would be sending attacks out (like over due notices) to force who ever has it to return it. He knows that Demons / Chaos would be annathema to the Devils / Order (Library) and so the fact it is overdue and missing leads to chaos and .......
Michael (Talwin): Man this must be how Fedex feels when they lose your package and are desperately trying to make themselves look innocent while you are driving country roads looking for a beat up package...
Lorie (Licornah): Maybe the goal is for the assistant to get the book back, not the librarian... the assistant messed up and lost the book
Talwin: Right Fives
Michael (Talwin): Can someone tell me what the alignment of what we are dealing with is? Lawful Evil, Nuetral Evil? Etc? I need to know some basic parameters of what we are dealing with
Branwyn: That would be a discussion worth having
Lisa (Branwyn): evil evil?
Lorie (Licornah): (Depending... more lawful evil than CE / NE I believe)
BOB so that is a yes to Lorie, yes to Michael, and yes to Lisa as TMO digests
Michael (Talwin): Right, but is it Self Interest Evil, Don't give a Shit Evil? Sociopathic Evil?
TMO (Fives): devils are Lawful Evil
BOB Hell is Lawful the Abyss is Chaos... hence where Jenn would be interested in
Michael (Talwin): Then they have a vested interest in order and self interest. They want what makes them happy and will be willing to be reasonab le
Lisa (Branwyn): but if they work in a library they have goals, responsibilities :)
Lorie (Licornah): (Evil is Evil, but rules are rules)
Michael (Talwin): RIGHT!
Michael (Talwin): That's why I think getting the book back matters. Plus, it makes the Assistant Look good to get it back
Lisa (Branwyn): but they also like screwing over humans
BOB Deadlines, and evaluations!
Michael (Talwin): Yes, but I think we have more bargaining power than we realize.
Fives: Right. Okay. So... I don't know a whole lot about demons. But... if demons are Chaos, why the Hell would they care about an overdue library book? It's got to be the devils that care.
Michael (Talwin): If I misplace a SharePoint document in the innovation group, I would sacrifice two weeks pay to get it back and call myself lucky
BOB Smiles, and everything becomes clearer to everyone in the end
Michael (Talwin): As I am a MARA, this shit matters. Bob probably knows as he is so high up in the Library.
Michael (Talwin): Brothers in Arms Bob LOL :)
BOB laughs
Branwyn: the book is a spell book not a text
Fives: Somebody said that the assistant is the one sending the attacks, I think? Is that right, or did I just make that up?
Talwin: I believe it was never confirmed Fives
Talwin: But I think there is nuance
Talwin: There is logic behind the events
Branwyn: It is filled with spells to control, torture and send creatures out of planes to others
Talwin: Nods
Raelynn: Wouldn't the demon stealing book cause chaos in the nice orderly library?
Branwyn: We don't know Fives
Talwin: Surely, it is a prize worth having returned. Even at the risk of maybe not screwing over humans
Branwyn: I am not sure an assistant would be the guardian
Lorie (Licornah): (They are Lawful = Order; a missing book could have untold chaotic outcomes)
Talwin: I doubt full integrity, but a librarian has an orderly set of tasks and duty.
Michael (Talwin): (YES LORIE! YOU BEAT ME)
Michael (Talwin): (SAY IT!!!!)
Branwyn: A good librarian yes
Talwin: Especially for a book that can move creatures between planes
Branwyn: But if you are evil can you overcome your nature?
Talwin: Dimensions
Michael (Talwin): (LORIE!)
Michael (Talwin): (SAY IT!)
Branwyn: looks at Jenn and smiles
Michael (Talwin): :)
BOB a good librarian for various flavors of evil
Lorie (Licornah): (I wouldn't take one of BOB's books... he's worked YEARS to organize... one out of place...OOFAH!)
BOB HAH
Fives: You ever think to maybe use one of those spells in that book on the guy whose name you know? To maybe control ot or force information out of it?
Michael (Talwin): (My collection is the same. Fireproof safe and god help anyone who touches)
Raelynn: Would that give her another mark?
Talwin: I think Overcoming your nature is subjective Bran
Talwin: Self INterest always overrrides
Branwyn: The spells in there ... are evil
Talwin: Nods
Talwin: All reasons to simply get it back and go away
Talwin: Besides
Talwin: Evil or now
Fives: Blood sacrifices to cast?
Talwin: We aren' tasking for anything
Talwin: Except
Talwin: To remove a mark that had nothign to do with us
Lorie (Licornah): (The atmosphere and the creatures will be fighting against us... we have to succeed despite that)
Talwin: And we could give the Theifs name to them
Branwyn: My self interest will not make me become evil Talwin. That is a flawed argument
Talwin: Which would make them incredibly happy
Talwin: Not you Bran
Talwin: The Demon
Talwin: Devil
Talwin: Whatever
Branwyn: And so why not them as well?
Talwin: Explain?
Lorie (Licornah): (Self-preservation good isn't a bad alignment - dead heroes help no one)
Michael (Talwin): (Confused on thisi one)
BOB The book came out of the Royal Library in Dryads Lair, the Princess who aquired it is long dead
Michael (Talwin): Seems simple to me
Michael (Talwin): (Theif is in prison though)
Branwyn: If you are evil and there is a way to get what you want by doing so, why would you be good?
Talwin: Shakes head
Talwin: Shakes head
Talwin: I'm not saying that
Talwin: I am saying
Branwyn: Believe me, I would like this to be simple. I just would not expect it to be
Branwyn: Don't think it will be
'Lemon' connected
Talwin: A logical, orderly evil creature, may wish to screw us over, but the reward not too would be high enough to make it heasitate
BOB Welcome back Lemon
Talwin: I*t's not overcoming it's own evil nature, it's consi8dering it's own self interest
Talwin: And weighing what it wants more
Carissa (Raelynn): (looks at Jennevive....)
Talwin: Do you think it would rather have a powerful spell book back? O rscrew us over?
BOB grins with Carissa
Talwin: Surely it would like to do both? But if it had a choice, which do you think it would want more?
Talwin: The rewards to obtain the book are far greater than screwing us over
Talwin: Shrugs
Talwin: I'm speculating
Zayden: Well there's lots of people around, but so few books
Lorie (Licornah): (Welcome back Lemon)
Carissa (Raelynn): (Hi Lemon!)
Branwyn: We'll find out won't we? But if you think a creature will bound out of the gate, I hand them the book and we call it a day, I would think you were being overly optimistic
Shislif (Zayden): Hi Lemon!
Talwin: Chuckles
Branwyn: So good luck with that hope
Talwin: I'm not saying that
Talwin: I'm saying Logical beings can be persuaded
Zayden: not from my experience
Talwin: And see benefits that they themselves might not recognize
Lemon: Hello again, thank you!
Fives: If y'all summon the assistant, would it be in a trap so it couldn't get loose and had to answer your questions, or just popping in for tea and biscuits for a friendly chat?
Talwin: What does evil want?
Branwyn: You are not persuading me with your logic ...
Talwin: To hoard, gain, and self reward
Zayden: mmm tea and biscuits please
Raelynn: Probably not tea and biscuits....
Raelynn: Delicious as it sounds.
Talwin: Turns to Jennevieve
Talwin: Jennevieve
Zayden: pshh fine
Lisa (Branwyn): there will be blood
Talwin: I am not good with words, and if you tell me my logic is flawed I will drop
Talwin: But what Does evil want? In this specific instance
Talwin: From an orderly, logical perspective
Fives: The infamous pentagram is a binding trap. But you can also just open a door and say 'pretty please' and have it walk through.
Talwin: Not Choas
Zayden: You're great with words Tal
Raelynn: Always so complimentary, Zayden! It's refreshing.
Bixi Fizzlebang -> Zayden: He really isn't
Michael (Talwin): (I'm having fun working through a complex problem. Tell me if you want me to stop. It's like a logic puzzle and i'm a sucker for those)
Zayden -> Bixi Fizzlebang: Hey just trying to build his confidence before he goes to Hell
Michael (Talwin): (I will immedietly stop if asked)
Lisa (Branwyn): I swear if Bob gives us a here's the book and it's done I will be hugely disappointed
Raelynn: and rename it to what again TMO? "The Anticlimatic Arc?"
Lisa (Branwyn): kill bob arc
Fives: If you're going to bind the assistant, you can ask it who the guardians of the book are.
Carissa (Raelynn): but something something late fees
Bixi Fizzlebang -> Zayden: Ah, well, that's nice of you then. Don't tell him what I said!
Lorie (Licornah): (Nah... I can feel him, clutching his fingers together "yes, my pretties, you shall all die!")
Jennevive: I think there are two competing interests here. The Demon who marked Branwyn, with the intention I believe of marking the thief of his book, so that the Library could send out notices to convince someone to return it
Michael (Talwin): (I'm just exploring because there are so many ways this could work out. I think we could legitimately persuade and come out of this relatively unscathed)
Zayden -> Bixi Fizzlebang: Haha ok, I probably shouldn't fluff people anyway, they may find it manipulative
Lisa (Branwyn): but what fun is that?
Lisa (Branwyn): seriously
Jennevive: There is the library who wants their book back, and are keeping the Demon there until it gets back
Michael (Talwin): (okay, then I can stop working it :) )
Raelynn: (lol no one will stop you from going to Hell to make sure it is shelved properly ;) )
Talwin: Shrugs
Lisa (Branwyn): I can go anywhere and have a discussion. I don't need to summon a hell creature
Talwin: Shrugs
Lisa (Branwyn): LOL Carissa
Talwin: No worries. We simply don't have enough facts
Talwin: We can do whatever is best in the situtation
Bixi Fizzlebang -> Zayden: I mean, he DOES seem to lack the amount of confidence in himself that he has earned. It probably doesn't hurt to build it up a little.
Lorie (Licornah): (Remember, you don't have to show up to every argument... - Kelly Clarkson)
Jennevive: As I said before do we attempt to summon Ramiel and speak with him about the return policy or do we summon Branwyn's Demon and return the book directly to him?
Branwyn: I just don't want you to be complacent and think we can have a civil conversation and be done with this
Talwin: Shakes head
Talwin: Oh I doubt that
Talwin: But I think it can be mitigated
Branwyn: And again, of the two choices I do not like breaking a demon out of a hell prison
Zayden -> Bixi Fizzlebang: Fair fair. I mean, should I really compromise my own integrity just to help someone feel and perform better?... I'm a bard of course I should!
Fives: I must have missed you saying that Jenn. Probably on account of me tuning out whenever you start talking.
Talwin: I still agree with you there
Jennevive: I am glad to enthrall you Fives
Bixi Fizzlebang -> Zayden: Hahaha, ah, Zayden, there's a reason you're my favorite person to spend time with
Lorie (Licornah): (I'm pretty sure the demon's release is party of the story arc... we can fight it, but it will find a way to happen)
Raelynn: Enthralling is just talking. You need a bit of charm and flirt.
Raelynn: For Fives (LINK)
(LINK)
Zayden -> Bixi Fizzlebang: Ahh thanks Bix, the feeling is mutual <smiles>
Jennevive: Warm smile and takes Rae's hand, Thank you Rae, I really appreciate that you are looking out for those small details for me
Lisa (Branwyn): yes Lorie but do we want that to be our first move?
Raelynn: Always happy to help.
Raelynn: winks
Carissa (Raelynn): (what is this friendship happening)
Jennevive: Winks
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Idk, but my characters are deeply concerned about it.
Jennevive: Pushes a bit of hair back over Rae's ear, You are always so charming
Lorie (Licornah): (Lisa - I agree. Probably not the first move, but one that will find a way to occur... sadly. Or something worse will escape. Maybe the gaggle of Beholders or something "fun")
Daphene -> Raelynn: Are you being enthralled right now!?
Carissa (Raelynn): )oh goodness now I can't stop laughing at this)
Raelynn: Mmm, it IS one of my many great qualities.
Raelynn -> Daphene: Hmm? Oh no, just entertained!
Lisa (Branwyn): lol Lorie
Jennevive: I can see why you have been so careful with your dashing sailor, you do need to make sure he full appreciates your .... skills and charm
Jennevive: Slowly pulls back from Rae
Raelynn: nods
Raelynn: I'm glad someone understands.
Lorie (Licornah): (BOB always finds a way to have unintended consequences happen, even with you tap dance so carefully to try and prevent... it's my marvin the android side LOL)
Jennevive: So which of our two prospective being do you think we should summone?
Branwyn: How many times do I need to say it Jenn?
Branwyn: Pay attention
Lemon (Daphene): He also always finds a way for his characters to flirt in a way that totally sketches me out.
Lorie (Licornah): (I vote librarian assistants)
Lisa (Branwyn): unless someone has serious objections
Jennevive: I am paying attention, I think that Rae was distracted
Zayden: He so do we need magic gear if we're staying on this side of the action too?
Zayden: no right?
Raelynn: Oops, sorry! Sometimes I do that. Do I need to step out of the room?
Fives: I think I'm going to go throw up.
Zayden: nice
N'laea: mutters, "You and me both."
Branwyn: If you fight something from hell at the Inn, yes you will. In the Mist they will be like any other creature
Zayden: oh ok
Branwyn: We have magic weapons in Tiberius' weapons room, you can borrow something
BOB I am glad you appreciate it Lemon
Raelynn: Not just magic, but strength. Damage.
Zayden: well as long as somebody gives me a weapon I can use that would be groovy
Carissa (Raelynn): (oops wrong person)
N'laea: Not just magic, but strength. Damage.
Zayden: nice
Zayden: sounds good
Zayden: also if it looks cool that would be nice
N'laea: The devil Fives summoned earlier was too strong for weak weapons, even enchanted.
Branwyn: We have magic maces, a magic spear of healing
Raelynn: Oh! I have extra glitter if you need, Zayden!
Zayden: ohhh healing sounds good to me
Branwyn: I'm not sure what would be easiest for you to handle.
Zayden: Ohhh good idea Rae!
Fives: You have a Spear of Healing? What, stab someone to make them all better?
Zayden: I believe I'm good with daggers
Zayden: things good for backstabbing
Zayden: haha Fives
Zayden: you so crazy
Branwyn: I don't have spare magic daggers I am afraid
Fives: Here, let me make sure your heart is all better!
N'laea: Did you not just suggest doing that to someone else to make you feel better?
Zayden: well I suppose I'll just have to make due then
Branwyn: No the spear heals the user the amount of damage it inflicts on someone
Lemon (Daphene): I don't know if "appreciate" is the right word
Zayden: always stay flexible right?
Fives: Okay, that actually makes sense then. Unusual for this group.
Raelynn: Yes! Always good to be limber.
Zayden: It's like, sometimes you're supposed to sing after dinner, and then all of a sudden you gotta sing before dinner!
Branwyn: The mace probably inflicts more damage than the spear but you'd have to ask Tiberius
N'laea: Or you sing before, during, AND after!
Raelynn: Or you sing before, during, AND after!
Carissa (Raelynn): (ugh)
Bixi Fizzlebang: Yeah, my bludgeoning isn't that strong... I think if we have to go inside, I might not be as useful
Zayden: Does the mace heal too?
Raelynn: You have many spells at your fingertips, Bixi. Don't discount your strength.
Branwyn: No it just bashes
Daphene: Zayden can't you like, sing them to sleep or something?
Zayden: I got some experience in Rod, Staff, and Wand I do believe
Zayden: Maybe with a couple drinks in em Daph
BOB Those are saves against magic of that type
Zayden: sing a few lullabies
Shislif (Zayden): oh ok nvm
Shislif (Zayden): yea my dude's all about the dagger action seems like
BOB He can use other weapons there will just be minuses to hit
Fives: Boss, don't think I've heard yet. You're going to summon the assistant, right? Friendly, consensual summoning, or binding, answer-me-these-questions-three summoning?
Lemon (Daphene): Ok but real OOC question... DOES zayden have like spells or skills or something that are useful in combat?
Shislif (Zayden): Yea but I rather not have minus to hits? Unless those minus to hits are still more than my dagger?
Shislif (Zayden): no not really I don't think
BOB Will be harder to hit but do more damage when you do hit
Carissa (Raelynn): (is it only daggers? I thought most have at least two weapon proficencies)
Shislif (Zayden): backstab
Branwyn: I'm not sure what kind of summoning other than they should appear
Shislif (Zayden): I have grabbing
Shislif (Zayden): does that help?
Branwyn: I've never cast it
Fives: Are they bound at this end, or can they just wander off if they want?
BOB Dagger, Sap, Sling are Zayden's weapon proficiencies
Shislif (Zayden): oh Sling I forgot about that
Lemon (Daphene): What's sap?
Shislif (Zayden): and Sap slows em down that could come in handy
Fives: Might be a good thing to know so we can prepare right.
Lemon (Daphene): Ooooh
Jennevive: We would have to provide the binding if we need that
Carissa (Raelynn): Sap?
'Michael' disconnected
Jennevive: The Gate simply summons them to us
Carissa (Raelynn): I didn't know that was even a prof...
Branwyn: Uttering the spell attracts the attention of the dweller on the other plane. When casting the spell, the priest must name the entity he desires to make use of the gate and to come to his aid. There is a 100% chance that something steps through the gate. The actions of the being that comes through depend on many factors, including the alignment of the priest, the nature of those accompanying him, and who or what opposes or threatens the priest. The DM will decide the exact result of the spell, based on the creature called, the desires of the caster and the needs of the moment. The being gates in either returns immediately or remains to take action.
Shislif (Zayden): Do we have any slings in storage?
Fives: Well, we've got it's true name. There's things you can do with that, if you know how.
Fives: Right, that sounds like a friendly, consensual summoning.
Branwyn: And Jenn is better aligned to summon a creature from hell than I am
Sap
Fives: Of that I have no doubts
Shislif (Zayden): I would probably pick different stuff next time
Carissa (Raelynn): (no fancy slings sadly)
Branwyn: he might be happy to see her
Fives: I suppose somebody somewhere should be.
Branwyn: smiles
Raelynn: Oh, sour puss.
Shislif (Zayden): wait I think i can make a sling out of anything with the right ingedients?
Fives: You can put that on my gravestone
Carissa (Raelynn): *sourpus
Raelynn: I will!
Jennevive: I am not certain our librarian will be happy to see me, but I do believe they will be happy to see the book from Branwyn
Jennevive: It is nice that he is planning on giving you his body Rae
Jennevive: You can use it in many ways
Fives: Only after i'm dead
Jennevive: If she likes that I am not to judge
Shislif (Zayden): and I think if I can make the sling I can just pick up stones/rocks from the ground?
Raelynn: Oh, that's not my thing. That's, um, well I won't judge, either, but it's not my thing.
Lemon (Daphene): On those D&D tiktoks I keep seeing, they keep showing bards casting inspire? Is that a later edition thing or?
Shislif (Zayden): that makes sense
Jennevive: You are a good healthy gypsy elf, of course your activities lean to a more natural way
Carissa (Raelynn): (we can buy you a sling, but you likely already have one, just not magical)
Lemon (Daphene): Yes, always pick up rocks.
Raelynn: And ethical!
Lisa (Branwyn): if you want a magic weapon. bob can add it to your sheet tonight so you are ready to go next week
Shislif (Zayden): cool
Shislif (Zayden): buy me a nice one though
Carissa (Raelynn): (feel free to try out the spear anyways)
Shislif (Zayden): yea healing spear sounds useful for sure, maybe Zay can practice with it for a bit before we leave?
Lorie (Licornah): (No bard's can sing a song of inspriration ... that's an origin story in D&D / AD&D)
Shislif (Zayden): like a musical montage
'Michael' connected
Fives: Anyways, back on topic. Summon the assistant, grill it for answers, trust it less than I trust Jenn.
Carissa (Raelynn): you can probably practice it on the devil when we get to that
Branwyn: I'm not sure a binding spell would be useful. What if we waste a binding spell on a creature that needs to get his boss
Carissa (Raelynn): see how well you do or don't hit him
BOB So it seems to be that you are at the point of: Next week you open the gate to summon Ramiel the library assistant and then ... negociate/charm/convince that you want to return the book and then.....
BOB Welcome back Michael
Lisa (Branwyn): lasso him?
Raelynn: Um, can you have negative trust? Because I think you're in the negatives.
Shislif (Zayden): sounds good
Lorie (Licornah): (Ahhhh the bard who serenaded my red dracolich was quite inspring... /memories)
Lemon (Daphene): So how does that work? Is that something Zayden can do?
Lisa (Branwyn): depends on what he says
Lisa (Branwyn): I can't predict what you have planned and I don't want to do so
Fives: (LINK)
(LINK)
Carissa (Raelynn): and then... go with the flow and hope for the best?
TMO (Fives): Bard class link
Lemon (Daphene): TL;DR version for me?
Lorie (Licornah): (In my experience, he can compose that inspirational ditty and sing away)
Lemon (Daphene): Please? puppy dog eyes
BOB Technically no for Zayden, he is not an actual Bard by the book he is a bard because that is who he always wanted to be. So yes he does sing quite well sometimes, and he has some nice thief skills, but he does not get the special abilities that a Bard would get like inspiring someone, or the spells, etc.
Lisa (Branwyn): she is going to have to book strapped to her to hopefully keep fireballs from happening to her
TMO (Fives): If the exact nature of an impending threat is known, the bard can heroically inspire his companions (immortalizing them in word and song), granting a +1 bonus to attack rolls, or a +1 bonus to saving throws, or a +2 bonus to morale (particularly useful in large battles) to those involved in melee. The bard must spend at least three full rounds singing or reciting before the battle begins.
Carissa (Raelynn): awww ouch really?
Lisa (Branwyn): so we have a wanna be bard and a wanna be ranger?
Lemon (Daphene): Ahhhh, ok, so he's like Daph, where she's a "ranger" but not really
Lisa (Branwyn): can't we have real stuff?
Michael (Talwin): Can he be a bard bob? Did he know the setup when creating the character?
Carissa (Raelynn): BFFS!
Lorie (Licornah): (wait so we have a bard that can't bard and a ranger who can't range? We're doing great :) )
BOB You have to start shopping in the better places
TMO (Fives): he might not have the stats to be a real bard
Carissa (Raelynn): "This is why we can't have nice things."
BOB Bingo with TMO
Lemon (Daphene): And thank you TMO
Michael (Talwin): We are the "B" team
Carissa (Raelynn): we just have to find the chat where he said that...
Shislif (Zayden): lol
Lorie (Licornah): (I love that they aspire to be those things -- always keep climbing :)) )
Shislif (Zayden): how embarassing for Zay
Carissa (Raelynn): so he's really just a thief who likes to sing
BOB Not at all Sharif, you have done a great job of playing him
TMO (Fives): being a Real Bard is almost as hard as being a Real Paladin. Says the player who has had a Real Paladin *and* a Real Bard. :P
BOB and I think that he has inspired the group
Lemon (Daphene): Lol, I would not have chosen to be aspiring, but I was given this character
Michael (Talwin): Oh god yes
Michael (Talwin): He is one of the best characters ever
TMO (Fives): and a PC who can barely stand up straight. :)
Carissa (Raelynn): personality and creativity with a character can really make them. and you've made him
Michael (Talwin): exactly
Carissa (Raelynn): you don't need to be good in combat to have an awesome character
Lemon (Daphene): Yeah, I absolutely love Zayden, whether he's a "real" bard or not
Shislif (Zayden): lol I just mean the wannabe bard aspect
Michael (Talwin): you have no idea how excited I get when we start doing stuff with Zayden nearby
Hell Hound: Advanced Effect ['IMMUNE:fire'] -> [to Hell Hound]
Hell Hound 2: Advanced Effect ['IMMUNE:fire'] -> [to Hell Hound 2]
Hell Hound 3: Advanced Effect ['IMMUNE:fire'] -> [to Hell Hound 3]
Raelynn: and Lisa did have a good idea for him on OOC if you didn't see .... he can be the distraction
Shislif (Zayden): lol thanks!
Michael (Talwin): Oh he most certainly could do that...
Lemon (Daphene): And honestly, not being a "real" bard is pretty on brand for Zayden. He does occasionally sing while hiding, or at other less than ideal times
Shislif (Zayden): anyway Zay will just do as he's told for the Hell mission :)
Michael (Talwin): like when sneaking
Spring: new series. Everybody Loves Zayden
Michael (Talwin): LOL
Lemon (Daphene): lol, yes
Hell Hound 1
Carissa (Raelynn): lol true
Lisa (Branwyn): lol
Hell Hound 3
Hell Hound 1
TMO (Fives): whoops, topic change time!
Lorie (Licornah): (That's the great thing about the game... you don't have to be purely anything...unless you're a paladin LOL )
Carissa (Raelynn): is this Bob's way of saying no more RP?
Lorie (Licornah): (Where's Hans when we need him...)
Shislif (Zayden): haha true Lemon
Hell Hound 1: [INIT] [MOD:Bite] [d10 = 6]
Hell Hound 2: [INIT] [MOD:Bite] [d10 = 2]
Lemon (Daphene): If so, Carissa, it's a pretty rude way!
Hell Hound 3: [INIT] [MOD:Bite] [d10 = 3]
Shislif (Zayden): real hell hounds happening?
BOB You wanted a test
BOB They are there when you are ready
TMO (Fives): RP-wise, I think it would be fun to also do Brer's arrival some time.
Carissa (Raelynn): (yes please)
TMO (Fives): but I'm up for a test too
Carissa (Raelynn): (after this maybe)

TMO (Fives): it's not infernal
Lemon (Daphene): It's not just me!
BOB That is strange for the other languages, what are you all seeing with that? Not the other language bits?
Carissa (N'laea): Lemon is trying to test languages and see if she can see it

Lemon (Daphene): Ok, so unrelated, and sorry to distract, BUT I have been "playing" this "game" called "placid plastic duck simulator" and it's just ducks floating in a pool, but some of them have special easter-egg-type characteristics, and there's one that has like, KISS style makeup painted on it, and when you click it, instead of quacking like most of them, it plays a guitar riff. I named it Zayden.

Lisa (Indigo): don't need magic weapons on a hell hound
N'laea [Infernal]: You. With the horns. Do you speak?
[understood by: Fives, N'laea]
Lisa: yes how can we add to sheets?
Lemon (Daphene): It is a fantastic game, and it's only $2 on steam, full price.
Carissa (N'laea): (probably ask Bob nicely)
BOB It is in the Equipment, Magic Items but I can add it easily to the sheets of who you want
Shislif (Zayden): Duck Plastic?
BOB tell me who gets how many
Lemon (Daphene): Yes, I saw earlier that you said we don't need magic weapons for the hell hounds, but I was still surprised to discover that Daph HAS a magic weapon. I wasn't aware
N'laea [Infernal]: (since just a test, anyone right now at least a handful)
[understood by: Fives, N'laea]
Lemon (Daphene): Placid Plastic Duck Simulator

[understood by: Fives, N'laea]
Carissa (N'laea): oops
Shislif (Zayden): cool
Lisa: 2 for each character? Spring was saying they weigh a lot?
N'laea [Infernal]: No, you're Fingers. You want to hide your horns.
[understood by: Fives, N'laea]
Lemon (Daphene): I also bought all the DLC. It's a great background game for when... uh... there's a lot of... planning... that you aren't super invested in going on... Yeah, that's a good way to say it.
N'laea [Infernal]: Unless you prefer i call you Horns.
[understood by: Fives, N'laea]
Carissa (N'laea): A good start for tonight
Shislif (Zayden): lol looks awesome
Branwyn: what's the difference between equipped and carried?
Fives [Infernal]: You're one of the less objectionable ones here. Don't ruin it for me.
[understood by: Fives, N'laea]
Spring: two of what volume?
Carissa (N'laea): for magic item you carry I won't think it matters
BOB Two on Branwyn, Bixi, and Zayden
N'laea: smiles
N'laea: (*almost smiles)
BOB also Zayden does have a Philter of Persuasiveness
BOB just saying
Spring: i'm scrolling up and still not following.
Shislif (Zayden): what's a Philter?
N'laea [Infernal]: While we deal with these, if I refer to horns, it is not you. To clear up confusion.
[understood by: Fives, N'laea]
TMO (Fives): potion
Shislif (Zayden): oh cool
N'laea [Infernal]: I am aware you can speak.
[understood by: Fives, N'laea]

Spring: two whats?!?!?!
Shislif (Zayden): for now he'll practice stabbing with the dagger, unless someone has a healing staff?
BOB Holy Water Spring
Lemon (Daphene): oops, that didn't work. But you get the idea.
Licornah: (2 vials of Holy Water )
BOB two vials of holy water
Spring: okay is that two
Lorie (Licornah): (2 please BOB)

BOB That accounts for the crystal of the actual vial, the water inside, the bulk of protecting it from breaking
Carissa (N'laea): I think it was 8 that I found worked
Spring: oh well, okay that makes more sense
Branwyn: [ATTACKING WHILE OUT OF AMMO]
Carissa (N'laea): Or 9...I'd have to check, but daggers and arrows are useless without bonus damage greater than +2
Branwyn: [ATTACK (M)] Silver Dagger [THACO(16)] [d20 = 4]
Attack [4] ->[ATTACK (M)] [at Baatezu Greater Amnizu] [Hit-AC: 12 vs. -1 ] [AC: 12 ] [MISS]

Branwyn: [ATTACKING WHILE OUT OF AMMO]
Branwyn: [ATTACK (M)] Silver Dagger [THACO(16)] [AC: 2 ] [d20 = 14]
Lisa (Branwyn): why do my daggers say out of ammo?
Lisa (Branwyn): not throwing them
Carissa (N'laea): you're selecting toss instead of stab
Craigh: [ATTACK (M)] Rope of Entanglement [THACO(17)] [d20-3 = 4]
Attack [4] ->[ATTACK (M)] [at Hell Hound 2] [Hit-AC: 13 vs. 4 ] [AC: 13 ] [MISS]

Carissa (N'laea): Huh
Lisa (Branwyn): melee

TMO (Fives): daggers have two actions. One is Ranged, one is Melee. Look for the sword icon rather than bow?
Branwyn: [ATTACK (M)] Magic Dagger [THACO(16)] [d20+1 = 5]
Attack [5] ->[ATTACK (M)] [at Baatezu Greater Amnizu] [Hit-AC: 11 vs. -1 ] [AC: 11 ] [MISS]

Carissa (N'laea): Hmm, interesting
Carissa (N'laea): If you click the icon, it will change it to what you need it to be
TMO (Fives): posting a screenshot of Fives' hand axe that has both options
N'laea: [ATTACK (M)] Longsword [THACO(11)] [d20+1 = 3]
Attack [3] ->[ATTACK (M)] [at Hell Hound 3] [Hit-AC: 8 vs. 4 ] [AC: 8 ] [MISS]
N'laea: [DAMAGE (M)] Longsword [TYPE: slashing (1d8=6)] [d8 = 6]
[6] -> [to Hell Hound 3] [STATUS: Moderate]
TMO (Fives): interesting, I did not know that
Carissa (N'laea): so she might still need to borrow the giant dagger
N'laea: Bob, did the Ring work against the Hellhounds?
Lisa (Branwyn): isn't the gem sword magic?
Branwyn: [ATTACKING WHILE OUT OF AMMO]
BOB I do not know Carissa
Branwyn: [ATTACK (M)] Silver Dagger [THACO(16)] [d20 = 6]
Attack [6] ->[ATTACK (M)] [at Baatezu Greater Amnizu] [Hit-AC: 10 vs. -1 ] [AC: 10 ] [MISS]
Lemon (Daphene): Oh, dang, fancy!
BOB what did you do ?
Lemon (Daphene): I'm learning so much tonight!
Branwyn: [ATTACKING WHILE OUT OF AMMO]
N'laea: So the gem sword is magic BUT it is only +2 when it is on fire. Apparently the Baatezu it will work against but NOT against the Hellhounds.
Branwyn: [ATTACK (M)] Silver Dagger [THACO(16)] [d20 = 19]
Attack [19] ->[ATTACK (M)] [at Baatezu Greater Amnizu] [Hit-AC: -3 vs. -1 ] [AC: -3 ] [HIT]
Branwyn: [DAMAGE (M)] Silver Dagger [TYPE: piercing (1d4=1)] [d4 = 1]
[0] -> [to Baatezu Greater Amnizu] [RESISTED]
N'laea: Unless I misunderstand the sword and it is +2 even when not on fire?
N'laea: [CAST] Ring of Mammal Control [at Hell Hound 3]
Hell Hound 3: [SAVE] vs. Spell [d20 = 1]
Save [1] [Target 16] -> [for Hell Hound 3] [vs N'laea] [TARGET-FAILED]
Hell Hound 3: [SAVE] vs. Spell [d20 = 1]
Save [1] [Target 16] -> [for Hell Hound 3] [vs N'laea] [TARGET-FAILED]
Carissa (N'laea): That is what she did.
BOB So yes it works on them
Lisa: thought everything there was resistant to fire
N'laea: Nice. I wasn't sure if FG accounted for it or not
Lisa: hellhounds are already on fire :)
Carissa (N'laea): And so did I, and I was thinking it was an FG thing, but it did add the resistance when she attacked the hellhounds.
Carissa (N'laea): Yet not for the big dude
Lisa: whatever you need that will work best for you to use you should
BOB Do you see the icons on them? the markers on the various tokens? Only Friendlies?
N'laea: Advanced Effect ['Longsword +1 Flametonge;IFT:type(undead);ATK:3;DMG:3;INIT:3'] -> [to N'laea] [by Longsword +1 Flametonge]

Carissa (N'laea): NOOOO stop FG
Shislif (Zayden): nice longsword
Carissa (N'laea): lol
Lemon (Daphene): lol
Lemon (Daphene): All this fire talk... afk to grab some ice cream
User has gone AFK. (Lemon)
Fives: It's not a sword, it's a tong.
Shislif (Zayden): mmm ice cream
TMO (Fives): ooc
Carissa (N'laea): So reading the descriptions... looks like it is +1, when on fire +2, against cold things +3, against birds +4 (I need this for work!!)
Lisa: thought it was supposed to be flametongue :)
Carissa (N'laea): Or wait +3 for birds, +4 for undead... okay yes I didn't understand it, it's a super sword, lol
Lisa: +2 agains trolls
BOB +1 sword, +2 against Regenerating, +3 against cold/flam/avian +4 against undead
N'laea: So in FG I guess it's coded as always activated? And I need it as not activated against the hounds to hurt them?
BOB Exactly
BOB No
BOB It is coded to work
BOB you do not do anything about it
N'laea: Hmm, but then why did the hounds resist it? If it isn't activated and on fire, it's a +1 sword, yes?
BOB It does not do any extra damage because of the flames
User is back. (Lemon)
Shislif (Zayden): what flavor ice cream?
N'laea: [ATTACK (M)] Longsword +2, Flaming [THACO(11)] [d20+3 = 18]
Attack [18] ->[ATTACK (M)] [at Hell Hound 2] [Hit-AC: -7 vs. 4 ] [AC: -7 ] [HIT]

Lemon (Daphene): Strawberry
N'laea: [DAMAGE (M)] Longsword +2, Flaming [TYPE: slashing, magic, fire, large (1d12+2=14)] [d12+2 = 14]
[0] -> [to Hell Hound 2] [RESISTED]
Carissa (N'laea): oh FG doesn't like me doing that
BOB Ahh yes it is flame
BOB So yes it just does not work on the Hounds because of that
BOB no way to turn that off
N'laea: Ok, I thought you could turn it off, but maybe it's just the illumination
BOB BUT you can do the To Hit with the +2 then when it is not lit you can roll the normal long sword damage
Lisa: (LINK)
(LINK)
N'laea: [DAMAGE (M)] Longsword [TYPE: slashing (1d8=7)] [d8 = 7]
[7] -> [to Hell Hound 2] [STATUS: Moderate]
BOB Nice lisa
N'laea: Oh, yes that's an easier way to do it. So this sword works, and I can just adjust the damage to normal sword to be "unflamed"
Shislif (Zayden): lol
BOB so things to work out, for Spring she is playing Lanek, and it out in The Mist when you open the Gate?
BOB So she knows what is happening when she logs in next week
Lisa: we never got to the whole what does the gate look like questions
Lisa: dimensions etc
Spring: and so Lanek is just helping guard the gate? and those around it?
TMO (Fives): wooden slat
BOB I will double check if there is anything else you do not know so far
BOB grabbing some books brb
Carissa (N'laea): guard the gate, help protect the inn if needed
Carissa (N'laea): he can easily run into the sunshine without penalty, it's running back into the Mist you'll get penalty
Spring: fun times
TMO (Fives): fun fun fun!
Carissa (N'laea): Maybe help distract if needed? Zayden will likely be helping to distract. Lasso, taunt, whichever you want to do.
Spring: cool
Shislif (Zayden): sounds good
TMO (Fives): hopefully it won't be needed, but if it is... it'll *really* be needed. :)
Carissa (N'laea): One thing we do need to be careful about is spacing as some of these guys can cast fireball.
Carissa (N'laea): And hitting them before they go so that the can only cast innate powers and not actual spells
Lemon (Daphene): Yeah, I was thinking if Zayden is our bait, he might be better off in the Mist, since going into the mist makes them easier to murder and less likely to kill Zayden?
Spring: that's a thought
Carissa (N'laea): I believe we're going to try to get the gate close to the Mist and use it to our advantage if possible, but the "What does the gate look like" is a question we need answered :)
Shislif (Zayden): Zay has the perfect song in mind
TMO (Brer Necholas): assuming they react like Namsut and Fives did to the Mist
Lemon (Daphene): Fire and Rain?
BOB Back
TMO (Brer Necholas): Devil in the Blue Dress?
Carissa (N'laea): We didn't start the fire?
Lemon (Daphene): Highway to Hell?
Carissa (N'laea): Hell's Bells?
Lemon (Daphene): Disco Inferno?
Shislif (Zayden): oh wait now I'm 2nd guessing lol
TMO (Brer Necholas): Wonderwall?
Carissa (N'laea): He's gonna have a full playlist ready next week, lol
BOB The Gate is a portal that allows a creature summoned to enter another plane, so the size of the Gate is determined by that criteria. The rest is up to the caster (user of the scroll) so you can describe it as you wish, place it where you like, etc.
Lemon (Daphene): lol TMO
Shislif (Zayden): lol I will!
Michael (Talwin): He better share the Spotify link for his playlist...
Carissa (N'laea): Yes!
BOB You know it will hold a Large size creature coming out
Michael (Talwin): So pick something small enough to let what you want through, to prevent larger monsters from entering?
Carissa (N'laea): I doubt the assistant is small...
Shislif (Zayden): lol sounds good
TMO (Brer Necholas): an imp?
Michael (Talwin): Wouldn't that be the funniest thing? We let all these horrors through when it was just an imp
Carissa (N'laea): I dunno, is Hell all about equality? Can anyone be an assistant librarian?
Michael (Talwin): snort
TMO (Brer Necholas): absolutely not. :P
Carissa (N'laea): lol
BOB So Sharif, you understand where Zayden will be when you log in next week
BOB the plan is to cast the Gate spell early, near the start
Lorie (Licornah): (In the afterlife, there will be serious strife... )
BOB then move forward
Shislif (Zayden): sure he's the bait on this side of this gate
Shislif (Zayden): although I prolly still won't be on till 615 or so
BOB Dearly beloved We are gathered here today To get through this thing called life Electric word life It means forever and that's a mighty long time But I'm here to tell you There's something else The after world A world of never ending happiness You can always see the sun, day or night
Carissa (N'laea): when we gonna talk to Brer?
BOB Yes fully understand that for you Sharif
TMO (Brer Necholas): oh god... Prince lyrics
BOB You can do that tonight if you like Carissa, Lisa, TMO, or at the start of next session, I think now is better
Lorie (Licornah): (Go Crazy ... :: guitar solo - go Wendy!)
Carissa (N'laea): Oh wait did anyone toss that holy water before we move on??
TMO (Brer Necholas): I'm game if everyone else is
TMO (Brer Necholas): if it's not too late
Shislif (Zayden): I Zay still has some holy water on him
Carissa (N'laea): happy to after we do that final experiment
Carissa (N'laea): I don't see how to toss it though
Shislif (Zayden): should he toss it?
Carissa (N'laea): that'll be the plan... really just want to see what kind of damage it'd do to the big guy
BOB Looking at that now Carissa
BOB go on and RP
Carissa (N'laea): which if Bob just tells us d8 or whatever, I'm happy with that, too
Carissa (N'laea): cool hi Brer!
User has gone AFK. (Shislif)
Brer Necholas: dismounts from his horse.
Talwin: Oh my gods
Talwin: Walks up and GRIPS Brer in a Bear HUG
Talwin: [CHECK] Strength (vs. Target 18) [SUCCESS by 17] [d20 = 1]
Brer Necholas: returns the hug.
Talwin: I missed you!
Carissa (N'laea): don't kill him!!
Talwin: Why don't you ever stop by?!
Lisa (Branwyn): lol
Talwin: BEAMS
Brer Necholas: chuckles under his hood.
Talwin: Guys its Brer!
Branwyn: smiles
Brer Necholas: It's good to see you too. I had faith that you would return.
N'laea: nods hello
Branwyn: Necholas, nice to see you
Brer Necholas: Blessed One. Welcome home.
Branwyn: Thank you. Are you well?
Lanek Olenak: harumphs
Brer Necholas: Hmm... as well as can be expected, I suppose.
Talwin: Slightly Anxious
Talwin: Are you okay?
Branwyn: How goes the vampire hunting? I am glad Count Drake has not harmed you
Brer Necholas: I am, thank you. I trust you're none the worse for your travels?
Talwin: Er
Talwin: Well, I am better than I have been in a long time
Talwin: Better now that you are here!
Talwin: Sides Eyes Branwyn
Brer Necholas: Good. My hunt continues. I hope that it may remain between just between the Count and I.
Branwyn: smiles
Talwin: Nods
Talwin: As you stated before
Branwyn: So you have received word that we are opening the gate to hell soon I take it?
Talwin: Sighs With Relief
Brer Necholas: Is that what it is? I trust you have a good reason?
Branwyn: laughs
Talwin: As good as we can get
Talwin: Mumbles
Branwyn: I need to get rid of the demon mark I received from opening this evil spell book
Lorie (Licornah): (I need to head out... can't keep eyes open- have a good evening all)
Branwyn: It requires that I return the book
Lisa (Branwyn): goodnight Lorie!
Michael (Talwin): Night Lorie! :)
Michael (Talwin): Thank you for your fun!
Lemon (Daphene): goodnight Lorie!
'Lorie' disconnected
Shislif (Zayden): I think I'll head out too yall see you next week :)
Branwyn: Evil items seem to find me
Michael (Talwin): Night!
Carissa (N'laea): night!
Lemon (Daphene): Goodnight Sharif!
Brer Necholas: Hmmm... that is a problem, I see.
Shislif (Zayden): Night!
TMO (Brer Necholas): (night!)
'Shislif' disconnected
Branwyn: And I do not wish to keep it
Brer Necholas: What is it you need from me? Hell is not my domain.
Talwin: Laughs
Talwin: No!
Talwin: But your specialty I think
Talwin: Grins
Brer Necholas: Not quite, no. I fight a different brand of evil.
Talwin: Shrugs.
Talwin: Regardless
Branwyn: Well I am not sure how long the gate will need to stay open and I'm not sure what else will come out besides the summoned creature we request. Your skills are great and if you had nothing better to do, we could always use your assistance
Talwin: I cannot think of many others who has faced it down with such frequency
Brer Necholas: pauses to think.
Brer Necholas: scratches his beard.
Brer Necholas: Hmm.
Brer Necholas: May I have your permission to Look at you, and ask you one question while you answer it?
Talwin: Points at himself
Talwin: Me?
Talwin: Or her?
Brer Necholas: Lady Branwyn.
Branwyn: Of course
Brer Necholas: reaches up under his hood to his left eye.
Brer Necholas: What is your intent in opening this Gate to Hell? Returning this evil item to them, or seeking infernal aid or assistance?
Detect Evil
Talwin: Gods Brer
Talwin: Mumbles
Branwyn: Returning the evil item to remove the curse the book put upon me
Branwyn: I want no aid from them
Talwin: We haven' tfallen that far
TMO (Brer Necholas): apparently I haven't put his Detect Evil in his Abilities section yet. :)
Talwin: Mumbles
Brer Necholas: Thank you. I'm sorry, but I had to make sure.
Talwin: Slightly Dissapointed
Brer Necholas: removes his hand from under his hood.
Branwyn: I understand. As I said, evil things have a way of finding me
Brer Necholas: Indeed. And stronger people than you have been deceived before.
Branwyn: I may have to enter the gate and that would leave others here without me. I would appreciate your help and would be in your debt
Brer Necholas: I can not enter Hell with you. I'm sorry, if that's what you need of me.
Branwyn: No I would not ask, but I am sure Talwin would enjoy having you stay
Brer Necholas: squeezes Talwin's shoulder.
Brer Necholas: I'd be happy to visit with him some.
Brer Necholas: How else can I help?
Branwyn: Not all of us will go into the gate if needed. If you could help Talwin and the others from the outside?
Brer Necholas: nods his head.
Branwyn: And provide wisdom on when to perhaps close the gate if it seems like the best solution
N'laea: and keep faith.
Branwyn: We will find out way back in needed
Brer Necholas: Evil will not pass me by unchallenged.
Lisa (Branwyn): if
Branwyn: I have no doubt
Branwyn: But in any event, come and dine with us and tell us of your adventures
Branwyn: Meet our new friends and Talwin can tell you of his sword mastery
Brer Necholas: Of course. Yours are probably much more interesting though.
Branwyn: There is much to share
TMO (Brer Necholas): sounds like the end? anything more to cover?
Talwin: Nods gravely
TMO (Brer Necholas): ah, he's back! :)
Michael (Talwin): (I'm starting to fade too :) )
BOB smiles
Lisa (Branwyn): almost midnight for the east coasters
Carissa: I'm trying but yeahhh I'm getting tired
Michael (Talwin): Yeah, but I'm not as tough as them haha
Lemon (Daphene): I took a nap, so I'm here for the duration, but I AM currently obsessed with a game...
Carissa: only thing missing is new guild guy, but he can show up day of
BOB We call it here and during the week decide who you need in to open the gate
Michael (Talwin): He's our Red Shirt, he's okay to show up whenever
Carissa: LOL
Michael (Talwin): Sounds good :) HUGS ALL!
Lemon (Daphene): Please name him some kind of pun on "red"
Michael (Talwin): Night! :)
Carissa: Maybe I need to do a character portrait before Friday for him in that shirt...
Carissa: Night!
TMO: were you afraid Brer was going to hate Branwyn? :)
Lemon (Daphene): Goodnight friends!
Michael (Talwin): LOL We should do that Lemon!

TMO: probably 'disappointed' is the closest word I can come up with right now.
TMO: but not severely so
Lisa: he is always thinking she is going to go to the dark side
TMO: no, not really
TMO: at least, not *intentionally*
Lisa: she is powerful and so is he so she views them as equals and would not swoon over him
TMO: oh, he never expected that.
Lisa: why she doesn't call him Brer but Necholas
BOB grins
Lisa: I view it as respect but not buddy buddy because she views things as more gray than black and white
Lisa: it's all good
BOB I do think that we are ready to start next week
Lisa: hope so
Lisa: sorry - goodnight and sorry you have to work
BOB During the week can make sure
