Born in Fire - Out of Character Discussion

Way to go Lisa. I read the chat log of you and bob forging forward. Good job getting through the battles and the ant "puzzle." I think most of us would have not played solo. Maybe Bob's getting nicer in his old age.

Note, I had Kaz do this (including switching the gold ingot from Miranda as seen in the BIF-IC) because John, Mike and Beth all logged out early. If anyone wants something to change before start of play next session please let me know.

BOB

I worked out weights on everyone's sheet (except Fritz), and made sure you've all got food. If you want to change anything, you're welcome to do so; I was trying to make sure the group as a whole has what it needs, but there's a lot we didn't account for (swords and daggers), so you might want to switch things around, or take less food, or more coins, or whatever.

Kaz

So I was right about going back up eventusly, but we will continue to see how to go.

I still want to work out things in character, so I will post there.

Sorry. I left early and quick. The real Micheal needed to go to bed.

John

John, I would think that it's likely the wreckage of the burned Inn would block our route back up, like Guy said. So exploring alternate avenues of escape is smart. It's better than sitting there hoping the ceiling doesn't colapse down on us, which I would think is also a possiblity. So going deeper means we might find a way out, and keep us safe with rock over our head rather than more burnable building.

Mike

Glad to see you were able to read and keep caught up Guy.

John et al,

The short term goal is to make sure that all the characters can work together. In campaign terms this means that yes your squad is in the cellars. You do not know that happened to anyone up above in the small hamlet that the tavern was in. You do know that the Corporal said he was coming back for you. For now you have to trust in that.

Guy I have a way to bring your character and others that will be joining the group which ever week people do join.

BOB

Don't forget the tavern was on fire so it may be hard to get out that way for quite a while. So the safest place may be deeper underground or at the very least out from under the tavern in case of a collapse. Unfortunately it will be another week before i will be able to play so ill be 2 weeks behind irl. I did enjoy reading what happened the first night though.

I would appreciate a little more information, so I can work things out before Friday. We are a group of 7 - 1st level characters with one commander in charge of just us. Our group is part of a larger group who's first stop is an inn when we are attacked by a red dragon. Our small group makes it to the Inn, but no one else in the company has so far. I saw no other structures and I am not sure how far away the rest of the company was but our commander decided to let us fend for ourselves and goes out to help the rest of the larger group. We were told to get deeper underground. I feel we have accomplished the primary goal and I can see exploring a little more but I do not see why our characters would expect not to eventually leave the same way we came, or even expect someone to come get us. Am I missing something? I get the feeling that is not what BOB expects from us, nor what some or all of the group expects.

I know it is my problem but I want to know what others think so I know how to handle this.
