Belinos - Kayugan - Priests - Gods
Belinos is the eldest son of Uthe. He was born minutes before his twin brother Brennios. Although he and his twin brother were inseparable at a young age, Brennios began to despise the special treatment that Belinos was given by the other members of the pantheon. He was raised to “Chief-Among-Gods” and granted control over the sun and stars. In a jealous rage his brother attacked Belinos. While defending himself, Belinos struck his brother with his mace crushing the side of face permanently disfiguring him and causing him to lose his eye. After the attack he banished Brennios to the underworld where he gained the affection of Portian. Belinos fell in love with Megrim, a mortal woman and with her he fathered two children Cahus and Aclim. As revenge for his injury, Brennios had one of his agents murder Megrim. Belinos tried to save her by raising her to lesser god status but she was killed a second time by Portian as a wedding gift to Brennios.
Role-playing Notes:
Belinos’ followers are almost always champions of good. They usually carry token idols of Megrim and mourn the day she was taken. They are ardent hunters of the undead believing them to be agents of Portian and Brennios. They pledge themselves to continue the fight against Brennios’ and Portian’s followers and try and destroy their temples whenever they are found. As follower’s of the head god, they are also often appointed positions of leadership over the entire church and pray to their god for his guidance and direction. Crusades against other religions are always approved by a leader from one of Belinos’ followers. They are also seen as leaders in a community. Often preaching about protection for the weak and help for the poor. Some followers of other gods do not believe in bringing back the fallen to life. However, followers of Belinos believe that bringing someone back to life robs Portian of another soul, so they will return people deemed worthy (non-evil) to life whenever possible. Many are also the town’s healer since they are given great power to heal wounds and return the dead to life.

Duties of the Priesthood
Priests of Belinos are often the healers of the city or town. They are tasked with spreading the faith of not only Belinos but the entire Kayugan pantheon (with the exception of Portian and Brennios). They also warn the public of the dangers in trusting followers of Brennios. It is seen as the holiest act by a priest to destroy any undead and they actively seek out the lairs of powerful undead such as vampires and liches.
