Chapter 2 - Class

Priests

Priests are magic wielding characters that draw their power from a higher source. Through prayer and devotion they are granted the ability to cast spells and often additional powers to serve their deities' cause. One of the commonly granted powers is the ability to Turn Undead. Priests have a wide variety of spells available to them organized by Spheres. Which God a Priest worships determines which Spheres they receive and each Sphere is slightly different for each God.

One key difference in game play is that while magic users need to memorize specific spells at the beginning of their day priests only pray and prepare to receive spells. They do not choose which spell to actually cast until the moment arises during the day that they want to cast it. If there are any required material components to the spell chosen they must be on hand.

How various individual priests handle the death of a character is different based on where they live and what their individual pantheon of gods accepts as part of the religion. One of the most controversial issues that many Priests get involved in is the conflict between both Gods inside of a pantheon and the pantheons of different Gods competing against other pantheons for followers and power. This reaches it's extreme with the concept of the Crusade.

All churches have their own Heraldric Blazons, using each of the various Priesthood Symbols for each God.

There are several different pantheons of gods worshiped throughout the world:
