Otsutan
Along the southwest corner of the Craniate Wastes the small hamlet of Otsutan was founded.
The village of Redfern Lake has always had an uneasy independence streak from the Medipop Estates. That control waxed and waned over time as the various Counts took interest in the lands to the east of the lake. Some of the residents of Redfern Lake wished to put a bit more distance between their home and that focus. They created the hamlet of Otsutan about eight miles north on Farmers Turn. Far enough into the Wastes to lessen the tug of the Medipop's but only a day's work to reach the lake and back safely home.
Founded in 158 SKR by the Millers, the Pastins, and the Caeleb families chose to keep the hamlet a closed community; not allowing any new building unless all the head of all three families agreed. With the Wastes still mostly empty of human use from the lingering effects of the Grey Death travel along Farmers Turn was sparse. Those merchants who did travel were mostly bringing ore from the Quellcon Estates south and needed a place to rest before entering the Medipop Estates territory.
For few decades the hamlet lived as they intended. Then the Third Drillian Civil War broke out and two of the significant battles were fought in the Craniate Wastes. The Battle of Hastilton Hill to the northeast of Skull Church and the Battle of the Minotaur fought just north of Otsutan. With the upheaval of the Civil War and the marching of armies the hamlet of Otsutan overwhelmed and disappeared from history.
