Fire Swamps
Similar to most Wild Areas of the Western World the Fire Swamps are untouched by civilized people. With the Narva River and the Velikaya River as the northern border, the southern edge bounded by the Rumbling River and extending southwest to form one shore of Lake Peipus the Fire Swamps take up more area than the Cordrawn Hills. The Barony of Fischl in Terraguard and Dryads Lair mark the northern boundary of where civilization starts.
For centuries humans have ventured into these steaming swamp lands with the goal of carving out a bit more land. The humanoids who live in the Fire Swamps have always had the upper hand. It is far easier to blame the Dragons or other creatures living there than a handful of "uncivilized" savages for the failure to stomp out places for pirates to hide.
