Greenborough

This is an elven city founded in the year 1258 TGR by Finglas. It is located deep in the forest east of the Protectorate of ElvenStier. The city proper occupies a small area of land cleared from the forest, but the surrounding area encompasses much of the forest. Along the eastern border in the high hills lies the Albula Pass. Adventurous travelers can journey through there to the Great Saint Bernard Pass and beyond to Roadhaven or Wolfspack.

In the heart of the city is the oldest and largest tree of the forest. A great temple of Solonor was erected around the tree, using its boughs and roots in the architecture of the building. The rest of the city surrounds the temple and houses most of the populace.

Most of the people living there are elven, though other races are present and welcome to join the community. The church rules the city, currently at the head is Finglas. When Finglas is not present, the second in command is his adopted brother Anterias. In the event that both are gone, the city is ruled by both the second priest in the temple and the head of the city garrison, the centaur Bradwarden.

The temple itself is built around a giant tree in the center of the city. The great lower branches and roots of the tree were incorporated in the building giving the temple an organic look and feel. The temple priests are constantly tending the temple and tree alike as the living tree's growth must be tended to fit into the temple designs. There are many windows in the temple, allowing light and air in to give it the feel of a forest glade, rather than a building. All the interior building was done with various wood from the surrounding forest. The treasury is housed in a secured cellar below the temple.

Inside the grounds of the temple, kept behind a wall and locked gate is a tree enchanted as a portal to Roadhaven. Anything that fits in the trunk of the tree will be instantly transported to a similar tree in Roadhaven. An acolyte is tasked with keeping watch over the tree at all times, welcoming those from Roadhaven or sounding alarm if any dangerous creatures should come through.

The city is self sufficient, drawing supplies from the surrounding forest and some small farms located in the hollows of the forest.
