Order of Brotherhood
The Order of Brotherhood is a Paladin order that stands to fight the Vampire Lords and to protect the Royal Family of Drillian. The Brothers each are sworn to another brother and pledge to protect each other and to not let his or her brother to fall and become an undead - death by a Brother's hand is preferred.
They were founded on 1-5-275 at the Uklo Estates by Queen Margata Uklo. Their blazon is a long sword held vertical on a gray field clasped by two hands each entering from opposite lower corners to demonstrate the bonds of brother hood and dependence on each other, the grey stands for The Mist where most of the battles the Brotherhood engages in as they hunt the Vampire Lords.
Queen Margata Uklo started the Brotherhood with a group of six men she pulled from her Royal Guard. It was decided upon the inception of the Order that they would be paired up because of the dangerous task they were sworn to. The Code of the Order is very simple.
- Brothers are sworn to kill their sworn brother rather than allow them to become an undead
- pyres are traditional for all funeral ceremonies
- All members of the order must be celibate
- there is no requirement for members to be chaste
- Fealty is to the Brotherhood first and the Crown second
- Brothers must renounce all family edicts
- In all matters except the pursuit of the Vampire Lords defer to local authority
- a court of three sets of Brothers guides the Order

The Order of Brotherhood is not a large force and the membership has never reached as high as a dozen pairs. The Order pursues undead in general as a matter of their normal duties and constantly is gathering information to track down who is a vampire and who controls The Mist. The Brotherhood has determined that The Mist does emanate from a place in the Great Swamp but the nature of how it is supported has not been found for certain.
