Tight Weapon Groups

This option allows the player to spend two weapon slots and learn a group of assorted weapons. Choosing one of these weapon groups grants the character familiarity with the other weapons in the group. Not all weapons fall into a Tight Weapon Group and must be learned individually.

  • Axes
  • Bow
  • Clubbing Weapons
  • Crossbows
  • Fencing Weapons
  • Flails
  • Hammers
  • Lances
  • Long Blades
  • Maces
  • Medium Blades
  • Picks
  • Polearms
  • Short Blades
  • Sickles
  • Slings
  • Spears
  • Whips

Then there are three other Tight Groups that are treated differently.

  • Non-human Weapons
These are mostly weapons used by Humanoids or Demi Humans and only those races get the familiarity bonus for using them.
  • Arrows
This is the ability to use different types of arrows not found in the characters culture or not meant to be used with a particular type of bow allowing the familiarity bonus to be applied.
  • Miscellaneous Weapons
This is a general hodgepodge of weapons that do not relate to each other or to other weapons. No familiarity bonus is given for choosing this Tight Group.
