Marisu / NotesFoolMeTwice
Marisu's Notes on the Investigation into the murder of the former Ambassador Waverlyn
Notes:
- Ambassador Waverlyn was stabbed, poisoned, and then burned, according to Phillipe and the priests he consulted.
- Cannot determine who did it.
- Protected from scrying somehow?
- Cannot determine who did it.
- Ambassador was the author of the new Kayugan crusade against the Greeks, to point the church east to the Greeks rather than into Drillian.
Circumstances:
- Joseph found the body stabbed, and ran to it.
- Atribella ran to fetch Phillipe
- "Whoosh" of flame
- Phillipe and Joseph pulled an arm and a leg, and a dagger fell out of the body.
- Ambassador Waverlyn did not like weapons. They were for the feeble-minded.
- They could not put out the fire in time and had to run.
- The mansion and body all burned in the fire.
- "... and the entire house seemed to catch fire all at once." - Phillipe
- According to the Priest consulted (name?), Ambassador Waverlyn was poisoned.
- Priests also confirmed that Joseph neither stabbed nor poisoned Ambassador Waverlyn.
- House was under a Guardian spell that prevented teleportation.
- Cast by an apprentice of the Necromancer. (name?)
Thoughts:
- Killer:
- How can someone be protected from detection? This might provide clues to the murderer, if only a few can do it.
- According to Midguard, the killer might have used a duplicate to confuse scrying.
- How did the killer(s) get into the mansion?
- How can someone be protected from detection? This might provide clues to the murderer, if only a few can do it.
- Murder:
- Why three murder methods?
- Maybe the dagger was poisoned, so only a scratch was necessary, and the fire was to cover the crime? Therefore neither the dagger nor the fire killed her, the poison did?
- We should find out who Ambassador Waverlyn saw or spoke to within the week before she died.
- Dagger:
- Was the dagger part of the killing? Was she actually stabbed, or was it merely near or on the body?
- Poison:
- What kind of poison was it?
- Fire:
- How was the fire set? Regular fire, or magic? If magic, how did the staff survive to escape? Fireball would have killed them too.
- Could Joseph have caused the fire, either on purpose or accidentally?
- Witnesses:
- Phillipe
- Atribella
- Joseph
- Phillipe checked, and the priests said that Joseph didn't stab or poison the Ambassador. But nothing was said about fire.
- Guards?
