SO heading into the courtyard at Old Man Miller’s Inn at Redfern Lake.
Indigo and Thistle notice that the Inn has a totally new look
The last rebuild was not just replacing what was existing but something different
Indigo: Hey Howard! What happened to the Inn?
Howard Plum: How should I know? I was busy at Dragon Fen while you were travelling for six years
Indigo: Howard! You know it wasn't like that
Howard Plum: sniffs
Howard Plum: I know
Talwin: This uh, does look different then when we passed here before
Howard Plum: But yes it does look different
Talwin: So...should we just...go in? Say hi?
Talwin: I'd love to go to bed....
Indigo: Howard you stay with the wagon while I arrange for the stables and the rooms. We can't leave the chests unguarded out here
Howard Plum: All right, but please hurry I don't want to guard alone for long
Talwin: (Sighs) I'm sorry Indigo, I forgot about that. I'm going to stick with Howard for now. Sorry Howard
Talwin: Oh good. This works for us both
Thistle: Well he did rebuilt it earlier, but he rebuilt it... again?
Talwin: Grins
Howard Plum: Thank you Talwin
Youtargim: Are we really debating to go inside a bar?
Talwin: Smiles Tiredly; I would hate for you to get jumped
Indigo: I'll be quick so I can unpack and we can relax and have ale
Talwin: We'll figure the rest out later
Thistle: They are. Now either open it up Youtm or get outta the way.
Youtargim: Hello there, we would like a set of rooms and your finest meal please
Youtargim: It is all on Countess Branwyn The Mysterious of Dragon Fen's bill
Thistle: OLD MAN! What'd you do to the place???
(Penny) I am sorry, What did you say you want?
Bixi Fizzlebang: I hope this isn't stuck in some weird time thing. I'm kind of over that.
Bixi Fizzlebang: I might wait out here until I know it's safe...
Indigo: Hi Penny! Can we get some room in the stables and some rooms for us please?
Indigo: Rooms for everybody?
(Penny) INDIGO!!!! Where have you been?
(Penny) I mean of course we can find places for you
Bixi Fizzlebang: Did that sound like a happy, INDIGO!; or a not happy one?
(Penny) I will kick people out
Indigo: In elf lands. We got stuck in a plane shift thing
Bixi Fizzlebang: looks at Howard and Talwin
(Penny) I mean of course we can find places for you, I will kick people out
(Penny) Elf Lands? I thought Thistle was upset that Shi went to the Elf Lands and took so long to return?
(penny) Did you go after Shi?
Thistle: She came back! HI PENNY!
Indigo: looks confused
Indigo: Don't kick people out
Indigo: Can we have a common room then?
(Penny) Thistle, you are looking good, nice top! where did you get that?
Thistle: Shur got it for me! She said I needed something “more presentable” or something.
(Priestess) My Friends we are so grateful to have so many of you here today to celebrate
(Penny) well she does have good taste, even if she is old
Thistle: RIGHT? The old keep getting older. Where's the Old Man anyways??
Bixi Fizzlebang: gets curious and creeps toward the door
(Penny) Oh just the celebration of the .... fish? Finding? .... OH Fourantate !
(penny) Yeah the Fortunate
Indigo: I'm fortunate
(penny) she is here to gather some donations
Indigo: I think
Indigo: Ohhh you mean a fortune teller?
(penny) you always bring us good fortune Indigo
(penny) Laughs, that would be fun too
Reven / Lipthink (giant sword) to Talwin: Ha! We are the most fortunate of all. These people know nothing of the true companionship that exists here.
Indigo: Can I put the horses in the stables and bring our stuff in?
Indigo: All our stuff is outside
(Penny) that sounds very nice
Bixi Fizzlebang: [SKILL] Alertness [MOD:WIS] (vs. Target 14) [SUCCESS by 0] [d20 = 14]
Reven / Lipthink (giant sword) to Talwin: There is nothing stronger than the bond between man and giant-slayer trapped in sword
As the group enters the Inn you see a priestess there on the rug preaching about how fortunate everyone in this room is and how they need to help spread that fortune to everyone else, and she then calls for another round of ale for everyone here
(Priestess) Look more who have come to join our gathering of fortunate people
(Priestess) Who are you? Tell us how Fortune shines upon you!
Indigo: Okay Talwin let's put the horses away and unload the wagon
Indigo: goes to do that
Thistle: Uhh we're waiting to find out. How's... fortune shining on you?
Talwin: This is going to sound paranoid, but Howard had me on edge.
Indigo: What's wrong with Howard?
Indigo: Besides the usual
Talwin: Tucks in shirt
Talwin: He brought back some old thoughts about the City states up north (or wherever, we never did get around to establishing that)
Talwin: Not his fault
Talwin: Shrugs
(Priestess) It looks like we have some believers here with us as well
Thistle: Uh yeah, sure sure, we definitely believe... I'm sorry what was it? I've already had a few
(Penny) Thistle you might not want to talk much
Bixi Fizzlebang: whispers to those closest to her “Does this seem sketchy to anyone else?”
(Penny) drags Thistle over to a corner
Thistle: quieter, “Uh, fill me in?”
(Penny) Keep everyone's pockets closed
(Penny) She has been looking for donations all night, the first round of them went to more ale, now she needs more for her church
Thistle: Another church? We don't need another one.
Thistle: For what god?
Indigo: I'm not sure I even want to take the gold in the inn. Hang on a second
Indigo: puts up the room scroll on a wall
Talwin: Nods
Talwin: Good idea
Indigo: puts the 3000 gp from the trolls in the room scroll
Thistle: If ya don't have room, and we'll just cause trouble, we can get moving, Penny. Especially if this weird lady is going to cause problems.
Talwin: Take a few gold pieces, sticks them deep in his boots, and tosses the pouch in after Indigo.
Indigo: We still have the potions and the other chest to keep safe
(Penny) Oh no the Old Man would not be happy with that
(Penny) We will find you a place
Talwin: I kept a few to pay. That way they wont see us open the scroll. No need to give anyone any bright ideas
Indigo: But if we can get a room we'll be okay
Talwin: Whispers
Indigo: takes the scroll down
Thistle: But where is the old man?
Talwin: Ready to go back?
(Penny) can any of your friends cure drunkenness?
Talwin: I worry about them. You know Thistle
Indigo: The scroll won't open until tomorrow now. I have spending money too. Don't go giving them too much
Thistle: Er, maybe? Is he drunk?
Indigo: Some silvers should do it
Indigo: Ready?
Youtargim: So if I can get this coin to land on heads three times in a row you will agree that The Mist is not an abomination?
Indigo: I'm hungry
Talwin: Something about this is making my skin crawl. I've felt this before. I wont drink anything tonight. I'll take first watch, Inn or not
Indigo: Okay
(Penny) no for the customers who are under her influence, or under the influence I would say
Bixi Fizzlebang: What is Yout talking about?
Indigo: hands Talwin one of the chests
Indigo: let's go
(Priestess) So if I flip this coin and it lands on Heads two of three times you will donate all of your earnings for the year to the church as a celebration?
Thistle: Well damn. I guess I'm not drinking tonight, either?
Thistle: HEY YOUT! COME HERE A SECOND!
Youtargim: Yes 100% of my earnings to your church if you can get this coin to land on....
Youtargim: Sorry just a moment mamn, being called away
Youtargim: Yes Thistle?
Thistle: Don't be an idiot.
Thistle: Penny says she's swindled everyone.
Youtargim: Why should I be different?
Thistle: What church is it?
Youtargim: Who knows? This is a one sided coin
Thistle: Oh really? That's cool! Like the dice Craigh has?
Youtargim: Well it looks like two sides
Thistle: Yeah, alright, carry on.
Youtargim: But it really only lands on one side
Youtargim: I thought you were a gypsy?
Bixi Fizzlebang: Are there any... more private tables? These strangers are making me nervous
Youtargim: Don't you have one like this?
Youtargim: Or dice?
Thistle: Uh yeah, but you sure ain't
Indigo: Wow! What happened here?
Talwin: Enters, crest of Bran emblazoned and standing as tall as he can. His expression is dark and is mean to convey that he won't be bothered and will defend his companions. He passes his gaze over the swindler and walked over to Yout.
Thistle: Nah, he's fine. I was just making sure he wasn't an idiot.
(Customer playing chess) Hey you, watch where you are going, (to Talwin) If you make me blow this move you are paying my bet
Indigo: drags the chests up to the empty table near the bar
Talwin: Nods
Talwin: I would suggest Knight to D9
Talwin: That would checkmate him
Thistle: Hey Penny, ya need some help?
(Lady across the table from him) NO FAIR!
Talwin: Shrugs
Bixi Fizzlebang: Oooh, a piano. Too bad Zayden is answering nature's call, he would enjoy this
Talwin: I did jostle him my good lady. My sincerest apologies.
Talwin: Bows deep in sincere regret.
(Old Man Miller) INDIGO!!!!!! Thistle!.... Welcome to you too
Thistle: OLD MAN!
(Miller) Indigo where have you been!
(Miller) Oh hello Howard,
Indigo: Miller!
Indigo: grins
(Miller) you still owe us for that wheel of cheese Howard
Howard Plum: frowns
(Miller) Jilly said it comes out of your funds and not the Estate
Bixi Fizzlebang: Is there more cheese?
Thistle: Was it actually good cheese or you just cheating him?
Indigo: You didn't hear that we got lost?
Indigo: If it was Penny's cheese it was good cheese
(Miller) offended... Is there such a thing as bad cheese? Penny! Did you hear that! Thistle says you might be cheating Howard with bad cheese
(Miller) No Indigo I heard you were dead
Indigo: I'm sorry
(Miller) that you went off to the Elf Lands and were lost forever
(Miller) But I see you have new Elf Friends
Thistle: Hey! She's gotten really good! You probably didn't give him her best, didja?
(Miller) looks over Licornah
Indigo: That's Licornah
(miller) smiles, What can we get for you?
Indigo: Licornah! This is Old Man Miller
(Miller) Welcome to my Inn
(Miller) a friend of Indigo is a friend of mine
Bixi Fizzlebang: decides being polite isn't working
Licornah: :: nods :: Nice to meet you. Do you have any Evermead?
Bixi Fizzlebang: Indigo!! If you order some cheese, get extra for me!!
(Miller) I will find something that will suit you quick enough
(miller) Penny! Deal with this gnome please, we do not want anyone complaining about them
Bixi Fizzlebang: RUDE!!!
(Miller) So Licornah, you look new here, where do you come from?
Indigo: Can we have some stew and cheese with extra cheese for Bixi and extra stew for me please?
Indigo: And ale
(Penny) I am sorry .... miss? You know it is so much harder with gnomes, with Elves it is easy to tell, I never get the noses right on gnomes
Bixi Fizzlebang: mumbles I have half a mind to summon another manticore
Indigo: thinks, get noses right?
Talwin: Stands leaning against the wall, keeping an eye on the room and remaining at the ready for his friends. Rest his hand on Bixe's shoulder. I'll buy you cheese wheel on the way out of here
(Miller) JOE! Go fetch a full dinner platter for ... 8? 10? Make it a dozen!
Licornah: I'm from Silvermoon
Bixi Fizzlebang: I'm not concerned with gender, I just want some of this cheese that everyone keeps talking about.
Talwin: [SKILL] Observation [MOD:INT] (vs. Target 13) [SUCCESS by 1] [d20 = 12]
(Miller) Never heard of that place, is it far away? Like maybe north of Blackwater?
(Penny) smiles, they all talk about me
Thistle: Joe?
Licornah: Yes... it's far north of here.
Bixi Fizzlebang: rolls eyes and says to Talwin “None of these people ever meet a gnome before or what?”
Thistle: How many cows do you have now Penny??
(Penny) I have 8 now, plus two bulls, and a flock of 14 sheep and 6 goats
Thistle: WOW!!
Talwin: Leans down. “We know what a badass you are and that's all the matters. Trust me, I'll buy you all the cheese in the world after that remark.”
Talwin: Whispers
(Penny) well 12 sheep after this feast
(Penny) so miss... gnome? You do have a name I am sure, what do you want us to call you?
Bixi Fizzlebang: I'm not sure I'm inclined to give it right now, but thank you.
(Penny) Look I am sorry the old man is not quite as welcoming to everyone, but the last couple of gnomes that came through caused a bit of a bother with the magic and stealing and general not paying their bill
(Miller) JOE!!!! GET THAT FOOD OUT HERE NOW!
(Miller) Indigo, so if you are back does that mean that Jilly rescued Branwyn?
Bixi Fizzlebang: Well I would think you would know well enough that Indigo and the others would not have me traveling with them if I were that sort of person.
Bixi Fizzlebang: Judging by the warm greeting he got, anyway
Indigo: Nah! Jilly's been to busy having babies to rescue anyone
Indigo: She has four now!!
(Miller) hands Licornah a full tankard of ale that has an almost frothy sparkle foam to it, more elven than you ever expected
Talwin: Even Talwin has a small tilt downwards at the attitude. Rumbles “You need no worry about this one. She is well valued at Branwyn’s council”
(Penny) Indigo travels with some shady people, he is nice to everyone, but not everyone is as nice as he is
Talwin: Nods
Indigo: I do not!
(Miller) Four now!
Talwin: I would count myself one of those. But this one is not
Indigo: What shady people do I travel with?
(Miller) Well I will have to send another present
Talwin: She is Bixi and you may call her that
(Miller) How is little Johan doing?
Talwin: Grips Bixi's shoulder tight in solidarity with the attitude
Talwin: Returns to keep watch again
Indigo: laughs
Indigo: Little Johan?
(Penny) I remember you having a slightly smaller stick up your ass than those two paladins did (looking at Talwin) you might want to relax a bit more
(Miller) Jilly's second son
(Miller) I hear Kelly is learning to be a fine baker
Indigo: Ohhhh ... that's ... strange
Bixi Fizzlebang: Hey, Talwin had to battle wills with a super intense... um... ghost sword or something. He's been through a lot.
(Miller) How long were you gone Indigo? It has been what? 4? 8? years?
Indigo: Six
Talwin: Frowns at Penny. “I did. And then many of us almost died several times. She has a name, please use it.”
Talwin: Strides a few steps away, still keeping watch
(Penny) Talwin, you need a good ... drink... cask of wine
Bixi Fizzlebang: Plus some digestion issues.
(Penny) Bixi you want some too?
Bixi Fizzlebang: So not a stick, per se
Bixi Fizzlebang: No thank you, just water if you don't mind please.
(Penny) you never met Brer or Sunrise
Talwin: Penny, I don't think you have anything strong enough. Besides, I'm pretty sure I've stopped drinking unless I'm at home. I have enough problems
Talwin: Trying to be a little less uptight, give a warm smile
(Penny) Pretty sure? Not really sure?
Talwin: Def. Sure
Talwin: Grins
Thistle: Sundope was a jerk. Brer was okay, but OLD.
Bixi Fizzlebang: stage whispers to Penny, “Like I said... digestion issues”
(Penny) runs a finger along his jaw, Are you really sure you cannot relax?
Talwin: Snorts
(Penny) See Thistle, those lessons with Shur pay off
Talwin: No thank you. This is a wonderful evening at the Inn, but I'm afraid I'm on watch tonight
(Penny) when is the next wagon load of fish coming by the way Thistle?
(Miller) HEY!!!!! STOP THAT!!!! GET AWAY FROM THEM!
Thistle: I dunno, I stopped paying attention. I got a mission to...
(Miller) pointing at the Priestess
(Miller) Last call Last Call
Indigo: looks around
(Miller) Drink it if you have it
Bixi Fizzlebang: looks away from Penny and Talwin awkwardly
Indigo: drinks his ale
(Miller) If you are not sleeping here then you need to find your own bed
Indigo: sad he only gets one
Indigo: Can we get a room?
The crowd grumbles but in good nature
They slowly make their way out the door
Talwin: Contemplating Murder
and after a few moments you are left with your group, Miller, Penny, and the Priestess
Talwin: At Bixi? Wanna go for a walk? Something stinks in here
Thistle: whispers to Penny, “The priestess lady has a room here? Do you want her gone?”
Bixi Fizzlebang: Is it safe out there?
(Penny) She has paid through the month
(Joe) returns with platters of food for your group
Indigo: Thanks!
Thistle: By swindling people?
Indigo: digs into his food happily
Thistle: Wait who is Joe anyways? I meet him before and forget or is he new?
(Penny) well she has money
Talwin: Call me if you need me
Talwin: Walks to the Door
(Penny) He has been around, mostly doing basics and cleaning
Thistle: Huh. Anyways, back to that priestess. Where's she trying to set up anyways? Next door or somethin'?
(Miller) She is right there, go ask her your self Thistle
(Miller) you always try to find a way around just DOING it
(Miller) go for it
Thistle: Penny said not to talk so much. Which I assumed meant not to her.
(Miller) so Licornah tell me about this Silvermoon place,
Thistle: Pffft look who's talking, Old Man.
(Miller) what brings you to Redfern Lake instead?
Licornah: Silvermoon is a very large city, it's a melting pot of multiple races and home to several deities and their churches.
(Miller) Well lots of places have lots of churches, have you see Loosend?
(Miller) More churches there than you can shake a stick at
Bixi Fizzlebang: Why would you shake a stick at a church?
Licornah: I've never been to that place
Indigo: laughs
Licornah: What church is your priestess friend Miller?
(Miller) to Licornah, She is not really a friend, but she has good funds, so that is always a nice addition
(Miller) She is a priestess of Carolina
(Miller) she is just so... insistent
(Miller) Not everyone needs to learn you know?
(Miller) But then she is so celebrating for everyone's little gains
(Miller) and then you need more donations to celebrate the training, and build the schools and
(Miller)
(Miller)
Bixi Fizzlebang: Hmmm
(Miller)
(Miller) just
Licornah: :: frowns :: I see
Bixi Fizzlebang: Excuse me, priestess, would you mind telling me a little about your goddess and what you're doing here? I'm always interested in learning!
Bixi Fizzlebang: And Miller, is this inn haunted by any chance?
Bixi Fizzlebang: Indigo, how's the stew?
(Priestess) Haunted! That would be exciting!
(Priestess) are you looking for any haunts in particular?
(Penny) I have not seen any ghosts
Bixi Fizzlebang: Anything that makes a good story!
(miller) Not since Indigo took care of those wererats
Bixi Fizzlebang: Are wererats ghosts?
(Miller) and those dragons
Bixi Fizzlebang: ARE DRAGONS GHOSTS????
(Miller) Sorry I do not think you are supposed to know about that
(Priestess) You do not need to worry about dragons, they are far away and not that dangerous
(Miller) snorts
Bixi Fizzlebang: You know where EVERY dragon is?
Indigo: Good stew!
(Priestess) Dragons are immensely powerful creatures, they have little concern for us humans, and .... others
(Penny) Thank you Indigo
(Miller) Indigo are you going to stay around now?
Bixi Fizzlebang: I'm not sure I like the way you say others. Does your goddess not like gnomes?
(Priestess) I am ... accepting of gnomes and elves and other ... people
(Priestess) Everyone who wants to learn and grow
Bixi Fizzlebang: If I share a piece of cheese with you, will you sit down with me and explain why you are here, what work you are doing?
(Priestess) I like that there are gnomes who have made a life of crafting gems
Bixi Fizzlebang: offers a piece of cheese
Talwin: Rumbles, Eyes Squinting slightly. Tone Wary “Whom did you say your goddess was again?”
Bixi Fizzlebang: I'm trying to learn to craft books!
(Priestess) Of course I will, Penny here make very good cheese, she is an excellent example to follow
Bixi Fizzlebang: What do you craft?
Bixi Fizzlebang: And what are you collecting money for?
(Priestess) I like to draw, but I also feel my best craft is to help mend people's souls
Bixi Fizzlebang: And aren't there any jobs you could do to get that money instead of asking rowdy drunk people?
(Priestess) I find that if I bring a crowd of people together, or find a crowd, that I can help work them into a giving mood
Indigo: I think so Miller. Branwyn was really upset she lost so much time with her kids. She doesn't want to do that again
Bixi Fizzlebang: Um... I'm not asking for a demonstration here JUST TO BE CLEAR, my soul is good, but I'm just curious, intellectually, how would you mend one that wasn't?
(Priestess) and then I can use those freely given funds to help others who are in need,
(Priestess) I could purchase the goods your gnomish jewelers make for example with those funds
Bixi Fizzlebang: How do you find those in need? How do you decide who needs things and what they need?
Bixi Fizzlebang: So... you just give them false confidence in their skills or?
(Miller) I am sorry she was gone so long, the Wastes were growing well, and now they seem to be a bit stagnant
(priestess) I find those who want to show off their craft and then give those crafts to those who are in need
Bixi Fizzlebang: It's good for someone if someone doesn't buy their things when they're still learning! It helps them find the motivation to keep improving!
(Miller) It is good that Snee has done such a fine job along Farmers Turn, and Hourglass has been surprising
Bixi Fizzlebang: And we always make sure our people are taken care of, they don't starve for learning
(Priestess) Do you want people to ignore your lesser works and not pay attention to you until you are a master craftsman?
(priestess) You are a book maker you said? perhaps I should help you with that craft?
Talwin: It allows other people to purchase things they not otherwise would be able to. A rough table is better then no table at all
Bixi Fizzlebang: They don't ignore them. People with lesser income buy the lesser works. They're still good, even if they're not great
Bixi Fizzlebang: Exactly
Bixi Fizzlebang: Talwin gets it
(Priestess) And I agree with you Talwin,
(Priestess) It is always better to have something you created than something you bought
(Priestess) But not everyone can create something of worth
Michael (Talwin): Raises eyebrows skeptically. “You seem to agree with everything. Words are circular around this topic it seems”
Bixi Fizzlebang: Anyway, I don't have time to learn books from you, we've got to be on our way soon, but I have some great mentors back at the estate, appreciate the offer though
Bixi Fizzlebang: shrugs
Bixi Fizzlebang: If they don't make something of worth, they improve or find something more suited to them
(Priestess) You are not saying anything that I disagree with so far
(Priestess) if you were to say, Life should be easy and people should just lay about and relax; then we would have a disagreement
(Priestess) See Bixi understands
Indigo: That would be nice
Indigo: grins
Bixi Fizzlebang: I think it's nice that you want to support local artisans, but I'm not sure I agree with the way you're doing it. But that's not my choice, so
Bixi Fizzlebang: shrugs again
(Priestess) looks over at Indigo,
(Priestess) do you prefer to lounge and live off of other's work rather than create on your own?
Indigo: I do enough work that laying around for a while sounds nice
(Miller) To Licornah, so are you sleeping in the common room with everyone? I could offer you a more private place to recline
Bixi Fizzlebang: I've never met anyone just lounging around living off other people's work... but... is that what you're doing, Priestess?
Bixi Fizzlebang: What are you making?
({Priestess) I am making everyone better
Bixi Fizzlebang: shrugs
Bixi Fizzlebang: Sounds like that's between you and your goddess
Michael (Talwin): Cuts of a laugh at Bixi's comment about lounging
Bixi Fizzlebang: To decide
Bixi Fizzlebang: Thank you for talking with me
(Priestess) our church has been growing so I believe that I am on the right path
Raelynn: Where is your church?
(Priestess) Thank you Bixi, I do hope you get to create your book soon
Bixi Fizzlebang: gladly steps aside to let Raelynn talk.
(priestess) to Raelynn, down the road a bit
Raelynn: Ah.
Raelynn: mentally crosses Redfern Lake off her list for her shop
(Priestess) I have been helping to build up our church in Billstone
Indigo: So Miller what’s new?
Reven / Lipthink (giant sword) to Talwin: should we this priestesses faith?
(Miller) Laughs, Indigo, new since when?
Reven / Lipthink (giant sword) to Talwin: See if her goddess will save her if we try to craft her some new scars?
(Miller) I am happy with my new building
Indigo: I dunno. Lately.
Indigo: Yeah what happened? I miss the long bar
(Miller) about 3 years ago the hobgoblins stormed through, and fought with some strange beasts on their side,
(Miller) Weird half man half something, they were horrible
Michael (Talwin): Whisper Mentally “Don't tempt me. I saw people like this all the time. Swindling press-ganged mercenaries of everything in the name of some cause or another. Desperate people become desperate animals in the end.”
(Miller) then the bullywugs swarmed
Indigo: Minotaurs?
Indigo: man and bulls?
(Miller) no no, these were more like pigs? and Men?
Indigo: Pig men?
Indigo: Never seen one of those
Indigo: Huh
(Miller) we lost the Inn and about half of the town
so I rebuilt again
Indigo: Who fought them off?
but I did not have the benefit of Branwyn's largess, so we built a bit smaller this time
Reven / Lipthink (giant sword) to Talwin: I feel your desire to keep the peace for your friends, and I accept that, but oh, we could teach her such a lesson.
(Miller) Su did an amazing job, it was heroic until the end
Indigo: Who is that?
(Miller) Jistille did not send anyone
Talwin: To Sword: Sighs Internally. We deal with this petty shit now so that we can splatter on the battlefield. I agree it sucks. You never know though. (Thinks Hopefully). Maybe she'll send thieves or something after us and we can tie it to her somehow.
(Miller) remember the wife of Johann?
Indigo: The tulip farmer?
(Miller) laughs with Indigo, no I have no idea who that is, no flowers around here at least
(Miller) Remember Johann? that huge man.... his wife,
(Miller) They lived on the lake
(Miller) he drowned
Indigo: Not much
(Miller) She died from the bullywugs
Reven / Lipthink (giant sword) to Talwin: The slight vibration of the sword, that Talwin hadn't noticed until it stopped, stops. The sword is disappointed.
(Miller) They had a place near the old blacksmith shop that Jill owned
Indigo: Okay ...
Bixi Fizzlebang: Bullywugs?
(Miller) after she moved to Jillistle then someone else took over, but Ben never did much good
(Miller) now We have Ulter, but he seems to be learning more,
(Miller) I have to admit that the priestess does have something about helping people learn
Talwin: {To Sword} Pat the handle possessively. I know I know. Trust me, I am too. In a way, I almost like camping away from towns now. Lot more likely we get to attack something.
Indigo: looks confused since all he asked was who beat the hobgoblins and the pigmen
Indigo: Seen Brer Necholas lately?
(Miller) No thankfully I have not had any Brothers Round here lately
Indigo: Too bad
(Miller) chuckles you were always better with them than I am
(Miller) First breakfast at 6, did you want Penny to make you something more for the road?
Indigo: That would be great!
Bixi Fizzlebang: Indigo, say yes!
Indigo: Thank you!
Bixi Fizzlebang: grins with relief
(Miller) I will leave you to it
Bixi Fizzlebang: Thank you sir. Miller. Old man. Whatever name you prefer
The Priestess goes upstairs to her room
Indigo: puts the chests in one of the rooms
Indigo: and goes to sleep in the common room
Indigo: Ladies can have the beds
Bixi Fizzlebang: looks around, not sure if she is included in “the ladies” or if that just means “the elves”
Licornah, Bixi and Raelynn all heal everyone who is injured so everyone can rest healthy and easily.

Bixi can find several plants to make broth with for misc. herbal remedies
Licornah: Are there any elven temples here?
Bixi Fizzlebang: buys the plant stuffs
Licornah: :: opts to stay with the group and takes it in ::
Indigo: You can see the elven temple place when we get to Loosend
Indigo: Know they have places there
Lorie (Licornah): :: checks her bag to ensure there are components and rations ::
Talwin: Slyly takes out three gold pieces as he readjusts armor, careful to maintain a low profile.
Talwin: Covers the crest. Looks more like a mercenary.
so you shop and then make it to the Medipop Palace before midday
Bixi Fizzlebang: What's this fancy place?
Indigo: That? That's the Medipop palace. There one of the important families here.
Indigo: Their own estate. Their daughters get to compete for Queen and stuff
Bixi Fizzlebang: That's all just their HOUSE?
Indigo: Oh yes. they've been around for couple hundred years or something
Bixi Fizzlebang: Compete? Do they all have the same size nose or something?
Indigo: laughs
Indigo: The families all put their daughters up and the current Queen chooses her successor
Indigo: There's some system or something
Bixi Fizzlebang: That's bizarre. Do you know them personally?
Indigo: Why we had the last civil war. Queen Wilimina wasn't supposed to get picked and the other families started a war
Bixi Fizzlebang: Like on a friendly level?
Bixi Fizzlebang: Will they give us cheese?
Bixi Fizzlebang: Do their ancestors haunt the place?
Indigo: We met them a couple times. I don't really know them know them
Talwin: Shrugs.
Indigo: probably they have a ghost or two
Bixi Fizzlebang: If only we had time to investigate!
Indigo: I don't think it's the kind of place you ask for cheese at though
Bixi Fizzlebang: Oh, that's too bad
Indigo: You don't ask people in palaces to feed you. You just bow and hope they offer
Talwin: Branwyn didn't do that to me when I first met her?
Bixi Fizzlebang: Sounds stuffy
Talwin: Frowns
Talwin: But that does sound about right for the most part
Talwin: After a moment of thought
Indigo: Last time we saw them I think they were telling Branwyn she had to get rid of the bandits on the road
Talwin: Or they just kill you for something
Bixi Fizzlebang: Did she?
Indigo: Yeah and we built our own road
Talwin: well, we did get rid of some bandits on the way here. Maybe that will help?
Bixi Fizzlebang: Well good, guess we can move along then. They won't be after us.
Indigo: No they wouldn't do anything to us for riding by
Indigo: Most estates like Branwyn. Or pretend to because of the Queen
So heading north of the Medipop Palace
So you leave Medipop Palace and make it north to the border of the Estate
the guards there ask you if you are transporting any goods subject to taxation
Indigo: Nope
Indigo: [CHECK] Charisma (vs. Target 10) [FAILURE by 7] [d20 = 17]
Raelynn: [CHECK] Charisma (vs. Target 16) [SUCCESS by 12] [d20 = 4]
so Indigo is not quite persuasive but Rae charms the guards at the border to let your group pass through with no checks
Indigo: You should negotiate for the knarr rental Raelynn
Talwin: [SKILL] Observation [MOD:INT] (vs. Target 13) [SUCCESS by 5] [d20 = 8]
Raelynn: Oh, sure. I can do that.
