And we resume our combat with the giant slug we ran into in the marshes.

Zayden: Dang everybody see that slug? It's huge!

Zayden: Reminds of my ex

Zayden chuckles

Bixi Fizzlebang: Your ex was a huge slug?

Zayden: haha, well that's just how I remember her, but not really

Bixi Fizzlebang: Hey, whatever floats your boat man

Zayden: well it didn't really float my boat, why she's an ex

Zayden smiles

Licornah casts a Helping Hand spell.

Howard Plum: casts Glitterdust on the head of the slug to try to blind it

The glitter floated randomly in the breeze INTO its eyes, blinding the Giant Slug.

Zayden: Hey everybody yall see that slug?!

Zayden: I'll sing a slug song

Raelynn: It's a bit hard to miss...

Zayden: [SKILL] Singing [MOD:CHA] (vs. Target 16) [SUCCESS by 13] [d20 = 3]

Zayden: Slug song Slug song, this is the Slug Song!

Raelynn: Yout, get us out of here!

Youtargim: Halgert, I hope you can steer a SHIP

Youtargim rushes forward and SLASHES into the Giant Slug with his magic scimitar, successfully wounding it.

Raelynn casts Plant Growth on the Giant Slug to entangle it.

Halgert, Human, Sailor/Fisherman runs to the ships wheel to steer

Craigh: Salt! I'll try to find some salt!

Raelynn: In the hold!

Craigh: [CHECK] Dexterity (vs. Target 15) [SUCCESS by 13] [d20 = 2]

Craigh: [CHECK] Dexterity (vs. Target 15) [SUCCESS by 8] [d20 = 7]

Craigh SLIDES down the ladder, grabs salt, and VAULTS back up the ladder

Talwin hits the Giant Slug repeatedly with his magic Giant-kin, 2-handed sword, critically wounding it.

Reven / Lipthink (giant sword): muahahahahahahhahahahahaha

Craigh: I have Salt!

Craigh: Craigh flourishes it like a trophy

Michael (Talwin): I'll never be a good magic caster...but at times like this, I'm glad I slash pretty good :)

Reven / Lipthink (giant sword) to Talwin: Excuse me, WE slash pretty good

Talwin: Murmurs to Sword

Talwin: Yes yes, you are the slasher in this relationship

Talwin: Rolls eyes

Reven / Lipthink (giant sword) to Talwin: No, we are a team.'

Talwin to Reven / Lipthink (giant sword): Smiles

Lanek grabs the salt from Craigh and shoves the bagful of it into the wounds of the Giant Slug.

and the Giant Slug disappears under the waves

Indigo: Whew! Let's get out of here!

Raelynn: Yes please!

Indigo: Great job everyone!

Raelynn: You all did amazing!

Youtargim: [SKILL] Seamanship [MOD:DEX] (vs. Target 15) [SUCCESS by 11] [d20 = 4]

Bixi's watery fist helps free the knarr from the mush and gets it back to open waters, as Youtargim successfully steers

You have 42 miles from the Entrance to the Rivulet to Bywater on the big water

and safety

you are 4 miles in

Indigo: Thanks for manning the helm Halgert. Have you ever steered a whole ship before?

Halgert, Human, Sailor/Fisherman: I have not ever been on this large of a ship

Halgert, Human, Sailor/Fisherman: I was very proud of earning my fishing boat

Halgert straightens up taller

Halgert, Human, Sailor/Fisherman: This is very nice

Youtargim: SLAPS him on the back

Youtargim: You did great

Youtargim: How is everyone feeling?

Raelynn: Tired. I really want a good rest tonight.

Zayden: still a lil weak Yout! Them damn Carp!

Zayden: Makes me rethink my relationship with fish here ya know

Youtargim: We have a long way before sleep Rae, I am sorry

Raelynn: sighs

Indigo: Can we have some lunch before we start rowing again?

Zayden: I like lunch

Indigo: I like lunch too!

Youtargim: Your call Admiral

Indigo: Maybe a little break to get our strength back up?

Zayden: I feel like the last few hours have been very hectic indeed

Youtargim: Do any of the magic people have boosts for you?

Raelynn: Do any of the magic people have magic left is a better question.

Youtargim: You are always magical for me Raelynn

Raelynn: gives a tired smile

Zayden: places knees to his chest and rests against the ship wall

Bixi Fizzlebang: Ok then yeah, I have plenty of healing left probably

Youtargim: Thank you Bixi, but I was not thinking of healing

Youtargim: When I was sailing in the azure seas we needed wind and protection from rain more than healing

Indigo: I'll go back to rowing then

Licornah casts Cure Serious and Light Wounds to heal Talwin

Indigo: Here Zayden, you can use the spyglass to look for danger

Zayden: thank you Indigo

Raelynn: Sorry, Indigo. If I had the spells to help, I would.

Zayden grabs the spyglass from Indigo

Indigo: goes back to row

Zayden tries to be useful, and attempts to use the spyglass to keep an eye for further danger

Zayden: even the simple task requires effort

Youtargim: I can change that

Indigo: This is just a scratch. Penelope would say I was handsome!

Indigo: [CHECK] Charisma (vs. Target 10) [SUCCESS by 6] [d20 = 4]

Indigo: I look good, right?

Indigo: grins

Raelynn: Without web in your hair, you do!

Youtargim: I have no idea who Penelope is but I think you look good Indigo

Indigo: Thank you!

Lanek: garumph

Lanek: so purty

Indigo: laughs

Youtargim: Well you are too Lanek

Licornah casts Fortifying Stew and spends the afternoon cooking a stew to aid the group.

Youtargim: In a certain light at least

Indigo: You look good too Lanek!

Youtargim: Hmmm What is that smell?

Lanek: huff

Indigo: sighs happily

Indigo: Smells like good stew

Licornah has a stew going for lunch,

Bixi is pushing with her watery fist to help the ship get moving again

Craigh makes sure everyone has the salt they need

the rest are rowing and sailing

and you move along the coast

The time is 1:10 PM

So as you are sailing along you spot two eagles flying, then suddenly DIVING down to try to snatch a quick meal

Indigo: ACK!

Zayden: perhaps there's something good to eat down there, if I had more strength I could fish, any opportunity to take my vengeance!

Indigo: Get out stupid birds!

Indigo hits Wild Eagle 1 a couple times with his Short swords, killing it.

Raelynn: They're only hunting...

Howard Plum swings his Khopesh at Wild Eagle 2 but misses.

Licornah : [Translation] :: waving her hands :: Hi there - just up the river is a giant slug that probably would be better food that what's here. Not moving :: motions in the direction they came from ::

Zayden: Shoooo! Get of here bird! Shoooo!

Zayden: Get out!

Bird, Wild Eagle 2: [CHECK] Wisdom (vs. Target 10) [FAILURE by 8] [d20 = 18]

Zayden: Stupid birds!

Bird, Wild Eagle 2 : [Translation] Thanks,

Zayden: I can hurt their ego at least

Zayden: grow some hair!

Suddenly the giant eagle SWOOPS up and back upriver from where you are

Licornah: :: resumes stew prep :: I hope they enjoy their lunch

Indigo: It just went away! What did you say to it?

Licornah: I told them to go have some giant slug

Indigo: laughs

Indigo: That is great!

Talwin: Great Job Licornah!

Very soon afterwards the group is sailing and a freak thunderstorm happens and does 14 points of damage to the ship

Talwin, Lanek, Howard, Craigh, Halgert, Zayden all are on deck

And lightning comes down and strikes Lanek, wounding him.

Lanek: ow

After sailing on for a while, most of the group suddenly and fully believes that we’ve have made it to a calm easy spot on the river and THIS is the space to drop anchor and rest for a bit. Indigo, Bixi, Howard, Youtargim, and Talwin all succeed from the mental attack and do not succumb to this magic.

Talwin: What are you doing? Don't drop that Anchor!

Talwin: We're under attack!

Lanek: finally !

Halgert, Human, Sailor/Fisherman: This is a great place to relax

Talwin: I said NO

Zayden: Relax everything fine!

Lanek: so tired

Indigo: Nope! We need to keep going

Talwin: As commanding officer with Admiral Indigo, we are NOT stopping

Raelynn: About time! I need my beauty rest!

Halgert, Human, Sailor/Fisherman: I am so glad you found this place Youtargim, finally we get to eat and rest

Indigo: Youtargim keep us going!

Bixi Fizzlebang: No, this feels dangerous

Talwin: Walks over and gently slaps Halger. Snap out of it man!

Raelynn: For a complexion, maybe, but we'll get over it.

Lanek: we need to take advantage of the calm for a minute

Talwin: Walks over and firmly slaps Lanek on the back.

Craigh: I don't know, seems like a safe place to me.

Talwin: I will buy you beer for a week if we go on one more hour

Talwin: Trust me

Howard Plum: looks at everyone suspiciously

Youtargim: This is off, I am not sure, it seems that this is just like the rest of the river

Howard Plum: [CHECK] Intelligence (vs. Target 12) [SUCCESS by 0] [d20 = 12]

Talwin: Howard...Don't make me slap you too

Raelynn: Oh who cares? We need rest!

Talwin: RAE

Bixi Fizzlebang: Look, I'm just saying one time we felt safe and I had to make Lanek deaf so...

Zayden: whoa no need for slapping, come on now

Raelynn: plops down on the floor of the boat

Howard Plum: shouts

Howard Plum: It's some magic!

The ship slows down with fewer people rowing

Talwin: We know!

Howard Plum: We need to leave now!

Raelynn: The magic of beauty rest!

Lanek: sigh of relief

Talwin: Indigo! I’m going to row. Keep us going!

Talwin: Rushes to the oars

Lanek: so glad to get a minute of peace

Talwin: Dispel magic Indigo!

Talwin: Does anyone have it?

Talwin: This isn't natural!

Talwin: Heaves

Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): I do! I think!

Raelynn: Why would I waste one of my last spells doing that?

Howard Plum: Rows hard

Talwin: [CHECK] Strength (vs. Target 18) [SUCCESS by 5] [d20 = 13]

Talwin: HEAVES

Craigh: Are you feeling okay, Talwin? You seem unusually anxious.

Indigo: rows hard as he can

Talwin: Craigh, I would never lie to you, even at risk of being a total asshole

Raelynn: Probably his sword.

Talwin: You are under a spell

Indigo: [CHECK] Strength (vs. Target 17) [SUCCESS by 9] [d20 = 8]

Talwin: For the love of god, ROW

Howard Plum: [CHECK] Strength (vs. Target 10) [SUCCESS by 0] [d20 = 10]

Bixi Fizzlebang: Look, y'all have to believe me... I want to rest as much as you do but this is NOT a good place

Lanek: I think I need some hand lotion

Talwin: What could it hurt to go on? You want to wait for another slug?

Talwin: An eagle perhaps?

Craigh: Hey, it's okay, relax. Here, let me look at you, maybe you're suffering from over-exertion? Or stress from too many tough encounters?

Raelynn: Oh! I have some you can use, Lanek!

Lanek: rowing is rough

Talwin: Shakes Head

Craigh: After what we've gone through, a break would be nice.

Talwin: If you won't help, then get out of the way

Talwin: HEAVES

Indigo: Just keep rowing and ignore them!

Talwin: Sweat pouring

Raelynn: hands over a small bottle of lotion to Lanek

Lanek: we could pile up some of the cargo and make a good place to lie down

Craigh: Oh, I don't think I ever put the salt away. Let me take care of that real quick.

Lanek: meh too tired

Lanek: I used all the salt

Talwin: Quickly grabbing a bucket of water next to him, hurls it at Lanek before getting back into a rowing rhythm

Raelynn: WHY are you all rowing?

Howard Plum: Anyone who is tired should go below before something bad happens

Talwin: Useless!

Craigh: Oh.... well, I'll make a note to get some more at our next stop then

Raelynn: Hmm, that's not a bad idea, Howard. I could use some rest.

Lanek: ugh

Howard Plum: keeps rowing

Raelynn: Let me know if you need some healing. I'm going to try to get in a nap.

Raelynn: goes below the hold

Lanek: I don't need a bath , it's not the weekend yet

Bixi Fizzlebang: [CHECK] Strength (vs. Target 10) [FAILURE by 6] [d20 = 16]

Talwin: [CHECK] Strength (vs. Target 18) [SUCCESS by 7] [d20 = 11]

Talwin: Red Faced and Puffing

Indigo: [CHECK] Strength (vs. Target 17) [SUCCESS by 2] [d20 = 15]

Talwin: I'm NOT.Dealing.With.This.Shit.Right.Now

Talwin: Gasping

Lanek: watches the light on the water

Talwin: [SKILL] Observation [MOD:INT] (vs. Target 13) [SUCCESS by 4] [d20 = 9]

Talwin spots two Scrags trying to climb up onto the Knarr

Talwin: SCRAGS!

Talwin: Curses

Talwin: Drops the row

Talwin: You fucking useless curs!

there is one more floating off the starboard side that is just singing

Talwin: Rushes up the stairs

Talwin: Indigo!

Talwin: It's that one!

Talwin: Points

Talwin: It's singing a spell!

Talwin: Can anyone disrupt it! We got more coming on the port site up the ship!

Talwin: It's that way Indigo! I'll handle these if Howard focuses on the singer!

Talwin: We take that one out and get the others back!

Indigo: runs over to try to shield Howard from the scrag while attacking it

Indigo hits Scrag 3 multiple times with his Short swords, killing it.

Lanek: snore

Bixi Fizzlebang cast Spook at Scrag 1, which was magically singing, and it swims away in terror.

As the song ends, the other scrag also swims away.

and suddenly everyone shakes off the spell that made people tired

Howard Plum: pushes the dead scrag off the ship

Lanek: that was a great nap!

Indigo: Time to row again!

Craigh: Oh... uhhh.. that was weird

Indigo: That was a magical scrag!

Indigo: Didn't know they had magic

Lanek: claps hands together and rubs them

Lanek: oh lotion ?

Raelynn: yawns and comes back up

Bixi Fizzlebang: Learn something new every day

Raelynn: Is it time to start rowing again?

Talwin: Grunts in disgust, but understanding of the spell, ...still wants to toss Lanek overboard

Indigo: Yes please

Raelynn: Oh okay....

Raelynn: [CHECK] Strength (vs. Target 11) [FAILURE by 7] [d20 = 18]

Raelynn: yawns again

Lorie (Licornah): :: finishes her stew :: and makes her way topside to let folks know that there is a stew prepared

Lanek: gimme plop o that lotion and I’ll get to rowin

Raelynn: nods sleepily and hands him some lotion

Lanek: grins, nods

The time is 3:10 PM

Lanek: 'mazin' what a decent rest 'll do

Bixi Fizzlebang: rolls eyes

Lanek: rows

Howard Plum: I'm afraid you were only resting for a few minutes but if you feel better ...

Raelynn: Not really. I would like more sleep than that.

The rest of the afternoon the group makes it along the shore and out of sight and range of the Rivulet

The date is Pen____tre, 15th Man (Early Spring), 358 SKR

Young Moon's phase is Last Quarter

Old Moon's phase is New Moon

Licornah casts Cure Light and Serious Wounds on Lanek to heal him from his lightning damage.

First Watch – Indigo, Licornah and Bixi

Licornah pulls out her weaving

Indigo: Sorry I killed that bird before you could talk to it Licornah.

Indigo: I forget that you can talk to them

Licornah: :: Shrug :: you didn't understand each other... they were doing what they were born to do... you were defending

Indigo: I just thought about it picking me up and so I hit it

Indigo: Do you think it found the slug?

Indigo: I hope so

Licornah: Me too.

Bixi Fizzlebang: I didn't know birds ate slugs

Indigo: At least Lanek seasoned it for him

Indigo: I think eagles eat meat

Licornah: Eagles are creatures who prefer meat. I just hoped it preferred that to us

Licornah: I'm just sorry everyone was so injured

Bixi Fizzlebang: It's been a heck of a day

Indigo: We'll be in Bywater soon. It will be better tomorrow after we get out of this dark place

Indigo: I'm surprised we haven't seen any undead

Indigo: Hmmm

Licornah: Shhhh... don't speak of such things

Bixi Fizzlebang: gods, please don't jinx us

Bixi Fizzlebang: There's been trouble enough just today

Indigo: Well it is a dark place. I just think undead live in dark places. Like that lich

Licornah: I just want to do my part, weave the evening away and sleep

Licornah: Drow live in the dark place with the Spider Queen

Bixi Fizzlebang: shudders

Licornah: The undead can live anywhere

Indigo: I'm sorry. I'll talk about better stuff

Indigo: You stew was really good!

Licornah: Oh! Thanks... I hope it helps heal everyone's spirit

Indigo: I think so. You and Bixi should cook together

Bixi Fizzlebang: Haha, I was just going to say it was nice to get a break from the cooking

Licornah: She's really good at herbs... I was raised by farmers, so I learned to grow things

Bixi Fizzlebang: Indigo, do you cook?

Indigo: Are you going to cook the eagle I killed?

Indigo: I didn't throw it overboard

Indigo: Might as well use it

Licornah: :: ponders :: I'm not sure

Bixi Fizzlebang: Can't hurt to try

Bixi Fizzlebang: shrugs

Indigo: Might be different than all this fish

Indigo: I like fish but get tired of it on long ship trips

Licornah: Maybe we could try a vegetarian meal

Indigo: Ummmm ....

Indigo: Okay?

Bixi Fizzlebang: Well, that's not really my specialty, but I'd be happy to help you, and learn!

Licornah: You like herbs and flowers, those are edible, right?

Bixi Fizzlebang: Some of them are... some of them will kill you

Licornah: :: nod ::

Indigo: They smell good

Bixi Fizzlebang: Licornah, what's your favorite food? If you had anything you wanted at your disposal?

Licornah: Oh - I love potatoes with salt and sometimes carrots in soup

Licornah: what about you?

Licornah: I love soups and stews

Bixi Fizzlebang: Potatoes and carrots are great! I like them with a nice roasted meat. Doesn't really matter which one, as long as it tastes good

Bixi Fizzlebang: How about you, Indigo?

Indigo: Potatoes are good. Carrots too. Don't like the green stuff as much

Indigo: But Jilly doesn’t let me eat dessert unless I eat them so I do sometimes

Bixi Fizzlebang: Mmmm dessert

Licornah: Those green things can really help with making things taste good. Green beans are great - fresh out of the garden

Bixi Fizzlebang: Wait... why does Jilly get to tell you what to eat?

Indigo: When she makes it she does

Indigo: Or she hits me with the spoon

Licornah: Desserts with berries are my favorites

Indigo: Berries are good

Indigo: Berry pie is really good

Bixi Fizzlebang: Yummm, berries. We should pick up some fruit pies when we get to the next town. It's been so long

Indigo: Any pie is really good

Licornah: Jilly sounds like a fantastic cook. She lives where the sickness is though, right?

Indigo: Yes with Branwyn

Bixi Fizzlebang: [SKILL] Alertness [MOD:WIS] (vs. Target 14) [SUCCESS by 4] [d20 = 10]

Indigo: Thanks for staying up with me

Indigo: You should get some rest

Licornah: :: stands :: well, good night all. :: heads off to slumber ::

Indigo: Goodnight Licornah!

Bixi Fizzlebang: Everyone could use some rest

Bixi Fizzlebang: Goodnight, friends!

Indigo: You too Bixi!

Second Watch – Indigo, Talwin and Craigh

Indigo: wakes Talwin

Talwin: Grunts. Thanks Indigo

Talwin: That time already huh?

Talwin: Smiles

Talwin: Smiles

Indigo: Yeah. First watch was quiet

Talwin: Thank gods. Sigh

Indigo: See anything Talwin?

Talwin: Sigh

So Indigo, Talwin and Craigh on the ship watching the shore and water in the middle of the night

to see skeletal seals swimming around the ship

Craigh: [SKILL] Alertness [MOD:WIS] (vs. Target 12) [FAILURE by 6] [d20 = 18]

Craigh: [SKILL] Observation [MOD:INT] (vs. Target 15) [SUCCESS by 6] [d20 = 9]

Talwin: [SKILL] Observation [MOD:INT] (vs. Target 13) [FAILURE by 4] [d20 = 17]

There are five seals swimming around the Knarr

Craigh: Think I can lasso one?

Indigo: Maybe you could

Indigo: They might hurt the ship though

Talwin: Hm

Indigo: Think we can move the knarr by ourselves?

Talwin: indigo, Why don't I raise anchor

Indigo: Craigh can you steer the ship?

Indigo: Yes raise the anchor and then we can row

Indigo: while Craigh takes the helm

Craigh: Umm.... maybe?

Talwin: Nods. I might be worth it to wake any non spell casters to help row

Talwin: The fisherman can help

Indigo: You can do it!

Craigh: *I* can raise the anchor?

Craigh: But it's very heavy.

Craigh: Or, it looks like it is

Talwin: I am raising the anchor Craigh

Indigo: No steer the ship

Talwin: Please go to the helm

Craigh: OH.. kay

Talwin: Turns to Indigo

Craigh: I'm steering a boat!

Indigo: Ship!

Craigh: Hey, I'm in charge now. It's a boat.

Talwin: You should wake the fisherman and one other to help row. We may need a fighter or two up here

Indigo: Okay

Indigo: quickly runs down and wakes Youtargim and Halgert

Talwin: Begins cranking the Anchor warily, checking periodically to see if the chain jerks oddly and ready to let it go at a moments notice

Indigo: wakes Lanek too

Talwin: [CHECK] Strength (vs. Target 18) [SUCCESS by 3] [d20 = 15]

Indigo: whispers “Undead seals coming at the ship”

Craigh: Craigh holds the wheel still

Talwin cranks the anchor chain and it WHIPS right up

Indigo: We need to get away fast

Indigo: runs back up to the deck

Talwin: Quietly shouts to Craigh. We are almost away

Talwin: You ready?

Indigo: Ready

Talwin: Nods at Indigo

Indigo: I tried to wake people

Talwin: [CHECK] Intelligence (vs. Target 13) [FAILURE by 5] [d20 = 18]

So the anchor chain rolls right up and spins around the spindle

Talwin: [CHECK] Intelligence (vs. Target 13) [FAILURE by 7] [d20 = 20]

Indigo: [CHECK] Intelligence (vs. Target 11) [SUCCESS by 7] [d20 = 4]

Craigh: [CHECK] Intelligence (vs. Target 15) [SUCCESS by 13] [d20 = 2]

So Talwin is so focused on getting out of there, and cranking away at the winch that he just GOES

but Craigh and Indigo point out... there is no anchor on the chain anymore

the ship is drifting

Indigo: Uh-oh

Indigo: We lost the anchor!

Talwin: Shakes head

Talwin: We'll deal with it later Indigo

Talwin: This first

Indigo: Let's go before they eat the ship

Indigo: Row!

Talwin: We can make another anchor or use the other ships anchor

Talwin: Row

Talwin: Indeed

Lanek: rows

Talwin: Keeps a wary eye

Indigo: rows

Indigo: [CHECK] Strength (vs. Target 17) [SUCCESS by 2] [d20 = 15]

Talwin: So let's just deal with this, and then we'll deal with the anchor

Indigo: Yes we're rowing

Lanek: rowing

Talwin: [CHECK] Strength (vs. Target 18) [SUCCESS by 9] [d20 = 9]

Craigh: So... straight? Or left maybe?

Indigo: [CHECK] Strength (vs. Target 17) [SUCCESS by 4] [d20 = 13]

Craigh: [CHECK] Strength (vs. Target 5) [SUCCESS by 3] [d20 = 2]

Craigh: Craigh flexes

Lanek: [CHECK] Strength (vs. Target 11) [SUCCESS by 4] [d20 = 7]

the ship is farther east

with no anchor

Craigh: Ow! I think I sprained my wrist

Talwin: Shakes head

Indigo: I'll wake the 3rd watch

Indigo: wakes Howard and Raelynn and Youtargim

Indigo: Goodnight everyone. Talwin you can explain what happened

Indigo: grins

Talwin: Nods

Talwin: No problem

Indigo: goes to sleep

Third Watch – Talwin, Craigh, Lanek, Howard, Raelynn and Youtargim

Talwin: Craigh, can you get the largest barrel we have? Preferably with Iron Bands? But one without will be fine

Talwin: I need to make an anchor

Craigh: I can find it, sure

Talwin: Thank you sir.

Talwin: [SKILL] Engineering [2] [MOD:INT] (vs. Target 10) [SUCCESS by 1] [d20 = 9]

Craigh: Craigh goes down into the hold and finds the largest barrel

Talwin: [SKILL] Metalworking [MOD:DEX] (vs. Target 12) [FAILURE by 4] [d20 = 16]

Talwin: Well that wont work, but the Engineering will hopefully be enough

Craigh: Craigh ties some rope around the barrel and climbs back out of the hold with the other end of the rope in his hand.

Howard Plum: comes up on deck and looks around

Craigh: Got it!

Howard Plum: Why are we moving?

Talwin: Carefully pokes up row after row after row in cicumrametric circles all the way down. Very small holes

Lanek: seal corpses?

Lanek: I think ?

Talwin: Wraps the iron band of the chain through each part of the barrel

Howard Plum: Dead seals?

Craigh: Craigh hands Talwin the rope.

Lanek: anyway we had to get away fast and the anchor broke

Raelynn: watches curiously

Craigh: You'll have to pull the barre out of the hold yourself, sorry

Howard Plum: That is not a good thing.

Talwin: We'll be fine. Hold on Howard

Howard Plum: I'm sure you have it well in hand

Lanek: Talwin is improvisin one

Talwin: The point of this is to slow the ship until it is manageable, not necessarily anchor it

Talwin: As we slow down, the towed ship will catch up at a small pace. We'll hop over and grab it's anchor, then hop back over. It's not idea, but the barrel trick will work. The holes in it will cause it to fill with water and create drag before finally becoming waterlogged. It's not the best option, but it’s what e have. Grab a few of those metal blades from our pirate battle. Dump them in. It might help

Talwin: We can also use rocks or something else heavy, but not sure the ship will have rocks on board

Talwin: Rudimentary Engineering has to be good for something am I right?

Craigh: No rocks, but we have Lanek

Lanek: humph

Craigh: I'm for if we need more sails

Howard Plum: Will you be able to pull it up once you have released it if it becomes heavier?

Michael (Talwin): Nods to Howard. We may not be able to. It's not meant to be necessarily retrievable, just slow us down to a very snails pace. We'll need to dump it when we need to slow down

Michael (Talwin): Even waterlogged though, I don't think it's heavier then the anchor was

Michael (Talwin): Also the chain itself is very heavy. It will also help

So the group makes it through the night

but still has some of the Dark Shire to traverse
