Carissa: took a little extra to load

Carissa: eh, migraines are bothering me but that's October

Carissa: otherwise I'm fine

BOB sorry for that

BOB I wonder why the extra load time

Carissa: not sure, hard to tell if it was my end or yours

'JtomTMO' connected

BOB Hello JTom

Carissa: Hi Mini!

'TMO' connected

BOB and TMO

Carissa: Hello Not-Mini!

TMO: heya

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): Hello

'Shislif' connected

BOB and Sharif now

BOB a good start to tracking down a college

Carissa: so Beth has someone to latch onto?

Sharif: hi hi :)

Carissa: hi Sharif!

Sharif: Hey there :)

'Lemon' connected

BOB and FINALLY Lemon ;)

Lemon (Levi Reed): Hello everyone!

MeLange: Hi Lemon :)

Carissa: hi lemon!

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): Hi!

MeLange: Hi Jtom :)

TMO: hello!

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): Hello

BOB Does anyone understand what the objective is?

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): Don't get stabbed

Shislif (MeLange): hang out have fun

BOB Both are very good objectives

BOB Also thank you Lemon for catching up on the Summaries

TMO: iirc, we found no trace of peg leg here, so the most likely place is Pibble town, with the bard college in it.

BOB Very true also TMO

Carissa (Vee Barlett): (LINK)

(LINK)

Carissa (Vee Barlett): in regards tothe summary

Lemon (Levi Reed): Right!? I did so much homework!

BOB I think this might be a better link Carissa

BOB (LINK)

(LINK)

Carissa (Vee Barlett): it's not blues brothers so already doubtful

Carissa (Vee Barlett): oh but I forgot I love this song and it is relevant to now

Carissa (Vee Barlett): we'll call it a tie

BOB grins

BOB YOu do have a chance to talk as you are 'moving down the road' towards Plithoth

Shislif (MeLange): nice

Carissa (Vee Barlett): (levi cna tell us about that geas)

Levi Reed: Hey, you guys, turns out the church put a death sentence on Jericho

Levi Reed: Or a geas, whatever the holy folks call their death sentences

Levi Reed: If he doesn't bring the stamp back to the cathedral in a month, he drops dead

Vee Barlett: I keep tellin' them their church ain't innocent. But a death sentence?

Vee Barlett: That's puttin' a lot of responsibility for a low circle.

MeLange: talk about late fees

Carissa (Vee Barlett): LOL

Lemon (Levi Reed): lol

BOB grins

Rothuss Carder: Sounds about right to me. "Do what we say, or else." Typical priest.

Levi Reed: But THIS church was pretty cool

Levi Reed: They don't seem like they'd give people a death sentence

Vee Barlett: Well damn. Might complicate my plans a bit but... alright. We can maybe work with it.

Levi Reed: They said the old one was a trap or something

Lirtimya: Just radiatitng holy decisions

Vee Barlett: What's so special 'bout this one?

Levi Reed: They were just much more relaxed. Open air. Not so formal and stuffy

Levi Reed: Probably wouldn't give someone a death sentence for trying to help them

Vee Barlett: Like a boat?

Levi Reed: You know, that kind of stuff

Levi Reed: Sure but like, more naturey

Levi Reed: Less watery

Vee Barlett: Water is nature.

Levi Reed: Yeah, but it's a very different nature and you know it

MeLange: we're nature too i think

Vee Barlett: Pretty sure they're more water than land so I'd say water is MORE nature-y than land.

Carissa (Vee Barlett): *there's

Vee Barlett: All I know is you have a disagreement with water, and that's on you. Ain't water's fault your family is.... your family.

Vee Barlett: We should still say hi on our way back, ya know?

Levi Reed: I don't think either one is more or less naturey, qualitatively. You want to quantify, go ahead, that kind of numbers crap isn't for me

Vee Barlett: It is when it comes to.... wait no,. you stop counting how much you drink, too...

Levi Reed: Hey, the rest of my family is great! Just because Lila is fanatic about business...

Vee Barlett: It'll be harder to stick Melange on her if he still has his... accessory with him.

Rothuss Carder: Do you two actually understand what you're talking about, or are you just spouting words hoping to sound smart?

Levi Reed: Probably that second one, in my case

Levi Reed: Vee kinda knows stuff though

Vee Barlett: Definitely the second one in his case.

Rothuss Carder: winks to show he's not being all that serious about it.

Beth the pickpocket: You all do talk a LOT

MeLange: option two yes

Vee Barlett: Good observation.

Rothuss Carder: double checks to make sure he's not too near to Beth.

Vee Barlett: is also steering clear of Beth and Melange

Rothuss Carder: Talking is better than stubborn silence when all you're doing is walking down the road.

Carissa (Vee Barlett): p.s. I do not want to hire her anymore

Vee Barlett: Talkin' is how you find out more about other people. Some of it useful.

TMO (Rothuss Carder): too late Vee!

Lirtimya: On the other side of Vee from beth

Beth the pickpocket: When we get to town what do you want to see first?

BOB oops brb

Vee Barlett: I want to see if I can find an old buddy of mine. Not sure about the rest of you.

Rothuss Carder: I'm game for almost anything. There ought to be something interesting down there, from what I can tell.

Levi Reed: A drink

Vee Barlett: From some good, aged rum? Oh, by maybe 50 yers?

Carissa (Vee Barlett): *years

BOB b

Levi Reed: Sounds like probably a bunch of musicians down there, should be something interesting for you Rothuss

Beth the pickpocket: OOOo , looks at Vee, Old men are the BEST

Rothuss Carder: Yeah, maybe hear a few new riffs.

Beth the pickpocket: You can do all sorts of things and if you are lucky... ooops

Vee Barlett: That your type, Beth?

Beth the pickpocket: My type is who has money

Beth the pickpocket: Old men have money

Vee Barlett: I can appreciate that. And old men usually do, yeah.

Beth the pickpocket: But Melange seems to be nice and solid

MeLange: Oh thank you Beth, I work out

MeLange smiles

Beth the pickpocket: Warm smile and squeezes his arm

Vee Barlett: Hey Beth, question for ya to help settle an arguement from earlier

Vee Barlett: Is his back or his chest sexier?

Beth the pickpocket: Of course

Beth the pickpocket: Well I have not seen either of them without clothing yet

Beth the pickpocket: I think that if he wants to show off we can all vote

Vee Barlett: Hmm, fair. Let me know when you decide. I have a bet placed on this.

Vee Barlett: [SKILL] Observation [MOD:INT] (vs. Target 12) [SUCCESS by 7] [d20 = 5]

Vee Barlett: [SKILL] Ranger Tracking [2] [MOD:WIS] (vs. Target 14) [SUCCESS by 13] [d20 = 1]

Levi Reed: You heard the lady, MeLange, take off your shirt

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): Nice rolls

Vee Barlett: looking around for peg-legged tracks and/or blood as they walk

Beth the pickpocket: OH Lirt, there is a nice library there too

Rothuss Carder: Do I get to lay any similar wagers about any of the ladies?

MeLange: Well if you insist

MeLange casually takes off his shirt

Vee Barlett: shrugs at Rothuss

Vee Barlett: That's between you and whoever you are betting with

Beth the pickpocket: WOW

Rothuss Carder: mm-hmmm...

Beth the pickpocket: Looks over at Vee

Lirtimya: I think I'll stick with the group, library sounds decent, but I can come back or go to a different one

Vee Barlett: We might have time to go after we finish our other.... business, Lirt.

Vee Barlett: So? Chest or back?

Beth the pickpocket: Can you spin around Melange?

Beth the pickpocket: slowly

MeLange: well a please would be nice

Lirtimya: The books most likely won't be going anywhere Vee, I know we don't have time right now.

MeLange: I'm not a toy after all

Beth the pickpocket: You look like someone I want to play with

Beth the pickpocket: But please Melange, can you turn around to show us your muscles?

BOB You are approaching the edge of the town

Vee Barlett: If I win this bet, I'll give you some copper for your time, Melange. But I refuse to be wrong here.

BOB it is much bigger, larger than Achild but not a full city like Osterhold

Lemon (Levi Reed): sorry, back and forth making food

BOB This is where the Duke lives

MeLange: well of course, thank you for asking so nicely

MeLange gives a little spin

BOB (LINK)

(LINK)

BOB Towns of Mizzen On the eastern shore of the island there are three primary towns. On a promontory to the northeast is ??? with docks for merchants and the primary location for ships to stop on the way south from Seagate. Farther south after a stretch of sandy beaches is the capital Plithoth. Set along base of a cliff that juts out towards a small island Plithoth is the familial home of the Duke. They maintain a small castle on the island just off the shore of the town. Plithoth has several popular destinations, the most famous of which is the Bard College of Plithoth. It is often said that "if you have money you go to the Bard College in Osterhold, if you have talent you go to Plithoth". On the far southern tip of Mizzen is the fishing village of ???. This side of the island is seen as a calm orderly place with the small mountain in the center of the island providing a scenic backdrop. The western side of Mizzen has a different feel for most people. There is only one larger town here of Red Hook in a sheltered cove. However all along the shoreline are small hidden docks where those with less than legal goods or lawful intentions make a temporary home. The Duke does not encourage such activity. The problem arises with the Duke of Siren Call actively sheltering those who others call pirates only seven miles across from Mizzen's western shores. Goods from the seas around Siren Call and Mizzen often make their way to the port of Red Hook and then by trails over the mountain to Plithoth for sale or further transit.

Beth the pickpocket: Leans into Vee, I think I like the chance to cling to his back

Vee Barlett: pumps first happily

Vee Barlett: Yesss, Dad owes me 10 copper.

Vee Barlett: I told him Melange's back was his better asset but noooooo

MeLange chuckles

Vee Barlett: Thanks, Beth.

Beth the pickpocket: Look I have to be honest

MeLange puts his shirt back okn

Beth the pickpocket: I do NOT want to get caught in town

Vee Barlett: [SKILL] Observation [MOD:INT] (vs. Target 12) [SUCCESS by 0] [d20 = 12]

Beth the pickpocket: are you going to make a big scene?

Vee Barlett: checking her pockets after she leaned into her

Rothuss Carder: You wanted here too?

BOB Everything is good for Vee

Carissa (Vee Barlett): she earns a point of trustworthiness

Beth the pickpocket: Looks at Rothuss, everyone wants me, but here I try to avoid some attention

Vee Barlett: I hope not. Just gotta find my old pal, maybe find a quiet place to talk.

Rothuss Carder: grins and nods understandingly.

Beth the pickpocket: The best place is the Bard College

Beth the pickpocket: You have to pay to get in

Beth the pickpocket: so not so many are there

Rothuss Carder: That'll be interesting. Wonder if it's a fun place or a stuffy place?

Rothuss Carder: Oof, sounds stuffy.

Vee Barlett: Bard College? Is that also a good place to find... items you may not find elsewhere?

Beth the pickpocket: I always hear them talk about "If you have money you go to Osterhold, if you have talent you to to Mizzen"

MeLange: all kinds of knowledge

Vee Barlett: So a good place to show off...

Beth the pickpocket: Yoiu have to pay to get in if you are not a student

Vee Barlett: Noble brats like headin' there for entertainment and recognition?

Beth the pickpocket: You need a ticket

MeLange: do we have talent or money?

Vee Barlett: How much are they and how do ya get one?

Beth the pickpocket: Shrugs, I ain't never been to Osterhold

Rothuss Carder: Talent!

Beth the pickpocket: I can get you tickets, if you buy me one to get in

Vee Barlett: How much?

Lirtimya: What was that about laying low while here?

Beth the pickpocket: I think I can get us in for only 2 silver each

Beth the pickpocket: that gives you entrance to one of the theaters and to the library

Beth the pickpocket: and to listen to lectures

Beth the pickpocket: Just for the day but it can be fun

Beth the pickpocket: and Safe to be there

Levi Reed: Lectures sounds boring, but the rest seems ok

User has gone AFK. (Lemon)

Rothuss Carder: Lectures don't sound boring, they sound deadly dull.

Vee Barlett: You plan to run off and get the tickets or you bringin' us to a place?

Beth the pickpocket: I was thinking that you would find what you need there

Beth the pickpocket: If not Who at least Someone who would know

Beth the pickpocket: and I would get a chance to relax and not worry for a day

Beth the pickpocket: Then maybe Melange would want me to relax with him tonight

Vee Barlett: Yeah, no, it's as good a place as any. I meant you gonna go grab us tickets, maybe head off with Melange to get them, and we wait here or we all goin'?

MeLange: think we've earned a little time to relax

Beth the pickpocket: Oh you can all come with when I get them

MeLange: sure I could grab some tickets

Vee Barlett: Alright then, lead the way.

The time is 12:00 PM

BOB Just as the sun is high in the sky, you arrive at the Bard College of Mizzen

MeLange: So this is a Bard College huh?

BOB Beth negociates for you for cheaper tickets because "half the day is over, we can only learn half of what they are saying, well he (points to Levi) can only learn half anyway so we need a discount" and she manages to get you all in for 2 sp each

BOB which she skips inside before paying her two , trusting that Melange will pay for her

Vee Barlett spent 12 SP on on Bard College Tickets including for Beth

MeLange: go Beth

MeLange: Hey thanks Vee

Vee Barlett: Let's hope we find what we need here.

Beth the pickpocket: I am going to go spend some time wandering around

Beth the pickpocket: I will meet you back at the gates at 6

Vee Barlett: If you see a man with a fancy peg leg, let us know.

Beth the pickpocket: I will steal it for you

Vee Barlett: Steal his pouch.

Beth the pickpocket: If I have his leg he can't get far

Vee Barlett: Hmm, that works, too.

Vee Barlett: Either way, he owes me.

Beth the pickpocket: I like that idea of you owing me

Vee Barlett: We'll see.

BOB So there is a small open air classroom where there is a lecture going on about slight of hand

Vee Barlett: [SKILL] Observation [MOD:INT] (vs. Target 12) [SUCCESS by 9] [d20 = 3]

Vee Barlett: looks around

BOB How to swap cards

BOB There are a couple of what Vee knows to be docents, but the others would not recognize, that she could talk to abotu what to find

MeLange: Hey Beth you should enjoy this

BOB Melange looks around and Beth has disapeared

MeLange: Beth?

BOB She must have learned the disapearing lessons well

Rothuss Carder: listens to see if he can pick up any tricks, before he gets bored.

Rothuss Carder: [CHECK] Intelligence (vs. Target 13) [FAILURE by 1] [d20 = 14]

Vee Barlett: casually walks up to one of the docents she thinks might know what she needs to know.

Vee Barlett: casually walks up to one of the docents she thinks might know what she needs to know.

Vee Barlett: Got a minute?

BOB Rothuss can tell that this instructor KNOWS what he is doing but cannot follow along quite to see how to do it himself

Thora Ocean: Hello young lady, how can I help you today?

Vee Barlett: I'm lookin' a man with an ivory peg leg. Took somethin' that ain't his. Seen any of the sort around here?

Thora Ocean: My my I do not undertand the allure of that man

Thora Ocean: Why would you want such a scoundrel?

Vee Barlett: Not all allure is good.

Shislif (MeLange): brb

User has gone AFK. (Shislif)

Vee Barlett: He owes me, put simply.

Thora Ocean: We do not allow dangerous... well not too dangerous things to happen here,

Thora Ocean: What are you planning on doing if you find him?

User is back. (Lemon)

Vee Barlett: Nah, no worries there. A stern talkin' to is all I need, make a deal with him. I know better than to do more.

Thora Ocean: Over in the Cohn theater. I saw him go in there this morning. He looked a little ragged but still had a girl hanging on his arm (shakes her head) I do not understand these girls these days

Lirtimya: Walks to behind Vee, to hear any useful informaton

Levi Reed: You and me both

Vee Barlett: A girl? Not some captain, was it?

Thora Ocean: If she was a captain her boat is sinking

Levi Reed: [SKILL] Alertness [MOD:WIS] (vs. Target 15) [SUCCESS by 14] [d20 = 1]

Vee Barlett: laughs

Lirtimya: Chuckles

Vee Barlett: That'd fit. Well, 'ppreciate the tip!

Levi Reed: just looking around

Thora Ocean: Looks at Vee and Lirt for a moment, tell me the name of this man you are looking for?

Vee Barlett: Why?

Thora Ocean: (suddenly unsure of your group)

Thora Ocean: Because I want to know who is attending the show

Vee Barlett: Clearly we ain't the only ones lookin' for him if you already noticed others askin' about him.

Thora Ocean: Raises an eyebrow

Thora Ocean: I never said that

Thora Ocean: Maybe you are searching for the wrong person

Lirtimya: The show?

Thora Ocean: For the wrong reason

Vee Barlett: You said he had an allure about him?

Thora Ocean: If you do not know a name, then maybe I read you wrong

Levi Reed: I promise you we are not here to make trouble. If he's not who we're looking for, we won't even bother him with a friendly hello

Vee Barlett: Ruffus. That work for ya?

Thora Ocean: Starts to turn away to call....

Thora Ocean: Turns back

Thora Ocean: That is a start

Thora Ocean: Frowns at Vee

Thora Ocean: You might not know as much as I thought

Vee Barlett: smiles back

Rothuss Carder: looks over at Vee from where he's watching the lecture.

Vee Barlett: [CHECK] Charisma (vs. Target 10) [SUCCESS by 2] [d20 = 8]

Rothuss Carder: You called me, Cap'n?

Vee Barlett: Oh I know what to keep to myself.

Lirtimya: Not quite Rothuss

Thora Ocean: I think you might be one of those young ones chasing after him

Lemon (Levi Reed): pirate mafia princess

Vee Barlett: grins

Levi Reed: Is he good looking?

Vee Barlett: I ain't denyin' I'm chasing after him, no.

Levi Reed: Or does he just have money?

Thora Ocean: If you like sweet talking rugged ner do wells I suppose he could be attractive

Levi Reed: Some people have a hard time seeing the difference

Rothuss Carder: shrugs and goes back to trying to figure out what the lecturer is doing.

Thora Ocean: But if you watch what he does instead of what he says

Levi Reed: Ah, well, that's me. I don't need to date myself

Vee Barlett: I keep interestin' company so could be.

BOB It is obvious to Vee that she stopped Thora from calling the guards, but not enough to convince her you are innocent

Vee Barlett: Hey, Rothuss!

Rothuss Carder: Huh?

Vee Barlett: Didn't ya also wanna ask this nice lady about the college while we're here? Bein' a bard an' all?

Vee Barlett: Two birds, one stone, ya?

Levi Reed: And what's the show that's happening in the Cohn theater?

Thora Ocean: If you are interested in being part of the college I can get someone to assist you

Thora Ocean: There is a nice small concert there this afternoon

Rothuss Carder: Umm.. sure..! *pulls himself away from the lecture and walks over*

Thora Ocean: Ashling Ambrose will be performing

Levi Reed: You got any poetry classes here? that's my specialty

Rothuss Carder: bows somewhat to Thora.

Thora Ocean: AI, can you help this young man? He is interested in joining the college, his friends think he has talent

Ai Sufelon: Seriously?

Ai Sufelon: Sneers

Ai Sufelon: Tell me a joke

Vee Barlett: Them both have interest in the arts. I only have interest in, well, they're better talkers.

Rothuss Carder: Good afternoon, ma'am. Thanks for taking some of your precious time to help us.

Taps her foot

Ai Sufelon: Be Funny

Levi Reed: Do bards have to be funny?

Rothuss Carder: A joke? Just a joke? Hmm... Now let's see... what would you think was a joke?

Levi Reed: He thinks I'm a joke

Vee Barlett: We all do.

Ai Sufelon: Physical Comedy is too easy

Levi Reed: You're just mad because I think your dad is hot

Rothuss Carder: True! I do! But I doubt Ai here would truly appreciate the fine humor involved without spending far too long in your presence.

Vee Barlett: rolls eyes

Rothuss Carder: How about a story?

Ai Sufelon: Points to Levi, Not Funny

Vee Barlett: Agree.

Ai Sufelon: Looks at Rothuss, Tell a joke first

Levi Reed: I'm not a comedian, I'm a poet

Ai Sufelon: Then we can see your story telling skills

Ai Sufelon: Good for you , ... who ever you are, go find a street corner or a bar

Levi Reed: But hey, we don't want to miss Ashling, do we?

Rothuss Carder: From my home town, up in the mountains. We primarily herd goats, as you would imagine. Very find beasts, the best coats.

Levi Reed: I'm heading over to the theater

Ai Sufelon: I will not be missing her ramblings

Ai Sufelon: I am here to interview this ... potential bard apparently

Vee Barlett: internally face palming

Rothuss Carder: At any rate, herding goats is boring as hell, so to liven things up, every year or two, we hold the Goat Derby!

Levi Reed: Dang. Bard college is just as stuffy as the church. Good luck Rothuss

Vee Barlett: Rothuss. A joke. Not a story.

Ai Sufelon: Waves a hand at Vee, see even your friends understand the difference

Rothuss Carder: Fastest goat from the top of the valley to the bottom wins. A few years ago, young Grintas came up with a novel idea, to push his goat into the river and let it float downstream.

Ai Sufelon: Points to Lirt, NO snickering just to make him feel good

Ai Sufelon: What ever floats your goat

Lirtimya: Nods

Vee Barlett: laughs then covers it with a cough

Rothuss Carder: But goats are *terrible* swimmers. But he told me his secret over an ale one night, and I'll share it with you... Do you know how Grintas made his goat float?

Ai Sufelon: Do tell

Rothuss Carder: Two scoops of ice cream, root beer, and a goat.

Vee Barlett: laughs

Ai Sufelon: That is a LONG way to a not great joke,

Vee Barlett: Bit long to get to that joke, but not bad.

Lirtimya: Stifles a laugh

Ai Sufelon: BUT I will admit that you did make it there

Rothuss Carder: It's called buildup.

Ai Sufelon: Come with me and we will see if you have some other better skills

Vee Barlett: You need an editor.

Rothuss Carder: Depending on how much time I had to fill, I could have spun that story out for an hour.

BOB The rest head on over to the college theater area

Vee Barlett: Them rural-types always talk that much?

BOB there are four entrances, the Cohn theater is on the far left

Vee Barlett: asking the rest of the group

BOB As you go inside

Lirtimya: I don't know

Rothuss Carder: We don't have anything else to do with our time, Vee. As I said, herding goats is boring as *hell*.

BOB the dark makes your eyes go blind for a moment

Vee Barlett: Drinking?

Vee Barlett: Or maybe the talkin' drives people to drink.

BOB then as they adjust you see a small stage, with about 50 seats in front of it, on stage is a harp, a large... piano? myabe that is what it is called, and three chairs

BOB The seats in front of the stage are about half full

Vee Barlett: [SKILL] Observation [MOD:INT] (vs. Target 12) [SUCCESS by 8] [d20 = 4]

Vee Barlett: squints eyes and looks for the shine of a pearl-inlayed leg

Levi Reed: [SKILL] Alertness [MOD:WIS] (vs. Target 15) [FAILURE by 1] [d20 = 16]

I can see the sunshine Coming through my room Breaking down the winter of my discontent Looking out my window At the people passing by I keep wondering where my old companion went On the steps of the museum I wrote a line or two But it took a while to find my way Back to something true like This is where I lay my hat This is where they know my name This is where they show me that A man's not so alone Maybe I'm already home (Sometimes you've got to go back) Maybe I'm already home (Sometimes you don't know why) Sliding down the window Burning up the daze Cutting through the veil that keeps on blinding me I was only sleeping Waiting here for you Waiting for your touch that keeps reminding me Well I've seen the world of wonders Been underneath it too But it took a while just to find my way Back to something true like This is where I lay my hat This is where they know my name This is where they show me that A man's not so alone Maybe I'm already home (Sometimes you've got to go back) Maybe I'm already home (Sometimes you don't know why) Why it had to take me so long Just to find a place that really feels This must be where I belong Thinking about it All I had to do was click my heels This is where I lay my hat This is where they know my name This is where they show me that A man's not so alone Maybe I'm already home (Sometimes you've got to go back) Maybe I'm already home (Sometimes you don't know why)

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): Great rolls coming from Carissa tonight

Carissa (Vee Barlett): :D

BOB A song from the stage

BOB and yes Vee spots several sparkles in the seating area, cannot be sure it is a leg, but it is definately pearl

Vee Barlett: does the you all keep an eye out gesutre to the others

BOB Three people in particular stand out, cannot see who they are from the door, but the lights of the stage highlight something

Vee Barlett: you know the one, two fingers eyes, one finger out

BOB Sorry to paste that twice someone will clean that up in post

Carissa (Vee Barlett): .......yay thanks

BOB grins

Lirtimya: Nods at Vee

Ashling Ambrose: Stops singing

Ashling Ambrose: Looks around at the polite applause

Vee Barlett: quietly, "I see three possible interestings people."

TMO (Rothuss Carder): (and Rothuss isn't here, right?)

Vee Barlett: points to the three

Ashling Ambrose: Tell me what did you think of that?

BOB Correct, Rthuss is off with Ai

Jeanne Massouchanteau: I think that was a bit long winded with so many repeated lines

Carissa (Vee Barlett): lol

Jeanne Massouchanteau: Are you trying to reinforce something?

Ashling Ambrose: I was hoping to show how we are all already where we belong if we just take the time to realize that

Ashling Ambrose: Looks at Lirt, What did you think of the lyrics?

Lirtimya: It was nice, I don't see much wrong with it, but I am not a musician

Ashling Ambrose: Does anyone have any comment on the melody?

Ashling Ambrose: Looks over at Levi and Vee

Levi Reed: I prefer something you can dance to

Vee Barlett: It was nice. I think?

Ashling Ambrose: I will not claim to have much of a dane repertrois

Ashling Ambrose: dance

Ashling Ambrose: I tend to more story telling

Levi Reed: It was nice for what it was, it just wasn't for me

Vee Barlett: Ah, too bad our storytelling friend isn't here. He'd probably have loved it.

Ashling Ambrose: I have one more for my set

Ashling Ambrose: Don't know much about you Don't know who you are We've been doing fine without you But, we could only go so far Don't know why you chose us Were you watching from above Is there someone there that knows us Said we'd give you all our love Will you laugh just like your mother Will you sigh like your old man Will some things skip a generation Like I've heard they often can Are you a poet or a dancer A devil or a clown Or a strange new combination of The things we've handed down I wonder who you'll look like Will your hair fall down and curl Will you be a mama's boy Or daddy's little girl Will you be a sad reminder Of what's been lost along the way Maybe you can help me find her In the things you do and say And these things that we have given you They are not so easily found But you can thank us later For the things we've handed down You may not always be so grateful For the way that you were made Some feature of your father's That you'd gladly sell or trade And one day you may look at us And say that you were cursed But over time that line has been Extremely well rehearsed By our fathers, and their fathers In some old and distant town From places no one here remembers For the things we've handed down

Ashling Ambrose: Finishes and looks around

Vee Barlett: claps politely

Lirtimya: Also claps politely with Vee

Jeanne Massouchanteau: Much better

Jeanne Massouchanteau: It is like a father not understanding where his child is coming from

Levi Reed: totally isn't wiping a tear away

Ruffus DeOrange: Fathers never know what they are sending out to the world

Jeanne Massouchanteau: I think if you can add a bit to the last

Vee Barlett: Mothers know even less, sometimes.

Levi Reed: Every family is different. I'm sure some of them know stuff. Somewhere. Probably

Jeanne Massouchanteau: I think if you made it sound more like... ambigious?

Ashling Ambrose: Who would like to come up and give us their composition?

Vee Barlett: lightls nudges Lirt and nods towards DeOrange

Vee Barlett: quietly, "You got a poem, Levi? Stall?"

Jeanne Massouchanteau: Clouds move in From off the horizon Feels like nighttime In the middle of the day And I don't know why But it's still so suprisin' How a love grows stronger Or it just fades away But you look older today Than I've ever seen you I think I know the reason We might wash all our tears away But you got to bundle up baby For the rainy season I hear you breathing heavy Cross the bar table tonight I can feel the air is thick as thieves Sometimes I just want to tell you We'll be all right At least that's what some part of me believes But you look older today Than I've ever seen you Think I know the reason We might wash all our tears away But you got to bundle up, bundle up, bundle up For the rainy season Oh, oh I've been holding on so long Holding on and holding on so long Oh, oh I've been holding on so long Won't you bundle up baby Could you bundle up, bundle up, bundle up For the rainy season

Ashling Ambrose: What does everyone think about Jeanne's prose this afternoon?

Levi Reed: quietly to Vee, "always"

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): Did i miss a name popping up who's DeOrange?

Carissa (Vee Barlett): (DeOrange is who we're after)

Levi Reed: It's good, but everyone is such a downer

Levi Reed: Don't you guys ever do happy stuff?

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): Okay

Vee Barlett: Is the looking older supposed to be good or bad?

Ruffus DeOrange: Let me try

Ruffus DeOrange: I got 29 ways to make it to my baby's door I got 29 ways to make it to my baby's door And if she needs me bad I can find about two or three more I got one through the basement Two down the hall And when the going gets tough I got a hole in the wall I got 29 ways to make it to my baby's door I got 29 ways to make it to my baby's door And if she needs me bad I can find about two or three more I can come through the chimney like Santa Claus Go through the window and that ain't all A lot of good ways I don't want you to know I even got a hole in the bedroom floor I got 29 ways to make it to my baby's door I got 29 ways to make it to my baby's door And if she needs me bad I can find about two or three more I got a way through the closet behind her clothes A way through the attic that no one knows A master key that fits every lock A hidden door behind the grandfather clock I got 29 ways to make it to my baby's door I got 29 ways to make it to my baby's door And if she needs me bad I can find about two or three more

Lirtimya: Nods in acknowledgment to Vee, seeing DeOrange in the crowd

Lirtimya: Action

Jeanne Massouchanteau: That has a nice rthym to it

Levi Reed: You got crabs in your chimney man?

Levi Reed: I can help you with that

Carissa (Vee Barlett): lol was also about to call out the santa clause part

Vee Barlett: Why 29? Is that number significant?

Vee Barlett: It's a bit... odd.

Carissa (Vee Barlett): (can I rim shot myself?)

Levi Reed: Also, why are you creeping around? If it's your baby, shouldn't you just be able to walk in?

Ruffus DeOrange: Not everyone is always happy to have people visiting

Levi Reed: Babies can't say whether they're happy or not

Levi Reed: Seems irrelevant

Levi Reed: I like the style, but the content is... disconcerting

Jeanne Massouchanteau: I have one

Levi Reed: Can I buy you a drink after this, sir? I'd like to hear more about it

Jeanne Massouchanteau: Let's go down to the sound tonight Tide is low and we can walk on water Reel me in under that starry light Just like the fisherman's daughter Baby when the bands and the barkers go home They say that Venus she rises From out of the foam She dances on air and laughs at the moon And watches young lovers in fiery dunes So are you willing to wait for the miracle Willing to wait it through Are you willing to wait for the miracle Or don't you believe they're true? There's an old man sitting by the side of the pier He's got his cross and his vision And his bottle of beer He just sits all day and all through the night Praying for a vision or a heavenly light 'Cause he's willing to wait for the miracle Willing to wait it through He's willing to wait for the miracle What else is he gonna do? What else is he gonna do? Now me I don't need no heavenly sign 'Cause I got the water and the wine So baby please let your lovelight shine 'Cause we're all gonna meet our maker Sometime That's why I'm willing to wait for the miracles I'm willing to wait them through I'm willing to wait for the miracles But I just can't wait -- for you Just can't wait for you Let's go down to the sound tonight And walk on water Walk on water Walk on water

Vee Barlett: Are all these about lost loves? Isn't there more to life?

Ashling Ambrose: Nods to Vee

Ashling Ambrose: There does seem to be a theme today

Carissa (Vee Barlett): maybe they all need therapy

Levi Reed: Reminds me of one I heard once somewhere...

Vee Barlett: I'm guessing everyone's been going through heartbreak or somethin' if that's their inspiration.

Levi Reed: Everything’s wrong, Days are too long, Sunshine’s too hot, Wind is too strong. Clouds are too fluffy, Grass is too green, Ground is too dusty, Sheets are too clean. Stars are too twinkly, Moon is too high, Water’s too drippy, Sand is too dry. Rocks are too heavy, Feathers too light, Kids are too noisy, Shoes are too tight. Folks are too happy, Singin’ their songs. Why can’t they see it? Everything’s wrong!

Levi Reed: [SKILL] Artistic Ability [MOD:WIS] (vs. Target 14) [SUCCESS by 11] [d20 = 3]

Carissa (Vee Barlett): nice

Lemon (Levi Reed): Yes, Shel Silverstein deserves that 3.

Vee Barlett: Well at least it isn't about a lost love...

Carissa (Vee Barlett): yeah he does

Ashling Ambrose: WOW

Levi Reed: That's what I'm saying! They act like everything is bad because they had a fling

Levi Reed: People come and go. You might as well complain about grass being too green

Vee Barlett: ...it is.

Ashling Ambrose: That is very nice... who are you?

Lemon (Levi Reed): Lol, Vee is Mr. Grumpledump

Carissa (Vee Barlett): lol

Carissa (Vee Barlett): because it's land!

Levi Reed: Levi from Lemonshire

Jeanne Massouchanteau: You have an interesting take on things

Jeanne Massouchanteau: I have been working on this, it is not too lost love

Jeanne Massouchanteau: Don't talk to her when shooting stars are falling Don't talk to her when she can smell the jasmine in the air Don't talk to her when no one knows you're calling You might just say the words that keep her waiting there Don't talk to her when she is softly sleeping Don't wake her to the sound of your voice whispering her name Don't tell her all the secrets you've heen keeping Don't tell her that you're drowning in a river of shame When the wolf is howling Underneath the moon Underneath the window Of a hotel room Burn the blanket Shoot the light But don't talk to her at night Don't talk to her in thunder or in lightning Don't talk to her with fuses blown and wires falling down Don't talk to her when the fever is frightening When she's burning in the bedroom in an evening gown Or when the wolf is howling Undernearh the moon Underneath the window Of a hotel room Burn the blanket Shoot the light But don't talk to her at night Don't talk to her at night

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): It's land and Vee hasn't gotten her drinks yet

Levi Reed: Eh, don't try and recruit me. I already tried to get in and got told to go away

Carissa (Vee Barlett): exactly!!

Vee Barlett: Hmm, now that one I like. It's relatable.

Jeanne Massouchanteau: Thank you

Ruffus DeOrange: I have one more to hear some thoughts on

Ruffus DeOrange: Baby let's go below the surface See what we can find There's no reason to be nervous 'Cause it happens all the time I don't wanna go up to the mountain I don't need to go down to the sea Gonna sit right here 'til we unravel The mystery While the lights of the city Are shining below Gonna hold on to you girl And never let go While everyone else is just walking around In their sleep Baby let's dig down Dig down deep I wanna dig down deep La la la la And I don't wanna wait until tomorrow 'Cause the fortune said that "The time is now" It's time to find out what we're doing What we're doing anyhow Yeah, let's go out in the moonlight And walk for a while Maybe stay up all night And talk, we could talk for a while Baby kick off your shoes 'Cause you got nothin to lose But your sleep Baby let's dig down Dig down deep I wanna dig down deep Could you dig down deep? It's an open invitation So baby don't you cry It's a life long celebration And I think we're right on time It's a feeling in your heart And a lump in the throat It's a strange and lovely ride Wanna dig down deep inside La la la la La la la la While the lights of the city Are shining below Gonna hold on to you girl And never let go While everyone else is just walking around In their sleep Baby let's dig down Dig down deep I wanna dig down deep Could you dig down deep? I wanna dig down deep (Yeah) La la la la

Ruffus DeOrange: Is that less of a lost love for you?

Vee Barlett: Better, but confusing. How can you go below the surface if you don't want to go to the sea?

Ashling Ambrose: Sir DeOrange, you are doing very nicely today, it has been far too long that we have heard your lines

Levi Reed: It's ok, but it doesn't even come close to the genius of Sir Richard

Levi Reed: We're no strangers to love You know the rules and so do I (do I) A full commitment's what I'm thinking of You wouldn't get this from any other guy I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling Gotta make you understand Never gonna give you up Never gonna let you down Never gonna run around and desert you Never gonna make you cry Never gonna say goodbye Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you We've known each other for so long Your heart's been aching, but you're too shy to say it (say it) Inside, we both know what's been going on (going on) We know the game and we're gonna play it And if you ask me how I'm feeling Don't tell me you're too blind to see Never gonna give you up Never gonna let you down Never gonna run around and desert you Never gonna make you cry Never gonna say goodbye Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you Never gonna give you up Never gonna let you down Never gonna run around and desert you Never gonna make you cry Never gonna say goodbye Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you We've known each other for so long Your heart's been aching, but you're too shy to say it (to say it) Inside, we both know what's been going on (going on) We know the game and we're gonna play it I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling Gotta make you understand Never gonna give you up Never gonna let you down Never gonna run around and desert you Never gonna make you cry Never gonna say goodbye Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

Carissa (Vee Barlett): lmao

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): lol

Ashling Ambrose: WOW

Levi Reed: [SKILL] Artistic Ability [MOD:WIS] (vs. Target 14) [FAILURE by 1] [d20 = 15]

Lemon (Levi Reed): lol

Lemon (Levi Reed): Perfect

Carissa (Vee Barlett): you did him shame with that roll!

Carissa (Vee Barlett): can the blessing of a rick roll be given to pass that?

Lemon (Levi Reed): lollll

Ashling Ambrose: Looks over at Lirt,

Ashling Ambrose: What song can you offer us this afternoon?

The time is 2:00 PM

The time is 4:00 PM

Lirtimya: I am no musician, simply here to enjoy the art

Lemon (Levi Reed): Yeah, what do the kids listen to these days?

Vee Barlett: Oh, come on, Lirt. You read. I'm sure you read something you enjoyed and would want to share.

Carissa (Vee Barlett): classic rock according to my nephews

Ruffus DeOrange: Glances over to Vee

Ruffus DeOrange: I have something else

Ruffus DeOrange: Baby I've been searching like everybody else Can't say nothing different about myself Sometimes I'm an angel and sometimes I'm cruel But when it comes to love I'm just another fool Yes I've climbed a mountain I'm gonna swim the sea There ain't no act of God, girl Could keep you safe from me My arms are reaching out, out across this canyon I'm asking you to be my true companion True companion True companion So don't you dare and try to walk away I've got my heart set on our wedding day I've got this vision of a girl in white Made my descision that its you alright When I take your hand, I watch my heart set sail I'll take my trembling fingers, and I'll lift up your veil Then I'll take you home and with wild abandon Make love to you just like a true companion You are my true companion I got a true companion Whoa true companion When the years have done irreparable harm I can see us walking slowly arm in arm, Just like that couple on the corner do Cause girl I will always be in love with you When I look in your eyes, I still see that spark Until the shadows fall, until the room grows dark Then when I leave this earth I'll be with the angels standing I'll be out there waiting for my true companion Just for my true companion True companion True companion

Lemon (Levi Reed): yeah but do they mean classic rock like for real or like, 90s grunge?

Lirtimya: Just shrugs

Carissa (Vee Barlett): As in Journey

Carissa (Vee Barlett): Classic. Rock.

Lemon (Levi Reed): ah, ok

BOB South Detroit

BOB Meaning Windsor Ontario

Vee Barlett: smiles at him (internally begrudginly)

Jeanne Massouchanteau: How many times can you say True in one song?

Vee Barlett: See? Improving already.

Vee Barlett: At least it's not lost, lost, lost.

Ruffus DeOrange: I think the question is do the ladies like it?

Levi Reed: Yeah Vee, do the ladies like it?

Vee Barlett: a line about sailing, another about the sea? It's hitting all the points I like.

Ashling Ambrose: That can be nice

Vee Barlett: Of course, it's easy to claim such extraordinary acts. But it's better to prove them..

Levi Reed: I got one for ya, Vee

Levi Reed: I'm sailing away Set an open course for the Virgin Sea 'Cause I've got to be free Free to face the life that's ahead of me On board, I'm the captain So climb aboard We'll search for tomorrow On every shore And I'll try, oh Lord, I'll try To carry on I look to the sea Reflections in the waves, spark my memory Some happy, some sad I think of childhood friends and the dreams we had We lived happily forever So the story goes But somehow we missed out On the pot of gold But we'll try, best that we can To carry on A gathering of angels Appeared above my head They sang to me this song of hope And this is what they said They said come sail away, come sail away Come sail away with me, lads Come sail away, come sail away Come sail away with me Come sail away, come sail away Come sail away with me, baby Come sail away, come sail away Come sail away with me I thought that they were angels But to my surprise We climbed aboard their starship We headed for the skies

Levi Reed: [SKILL] Artistic Ability [MOD:WIS] (vs. Target 14) [SUCCESS by 0] [d20 = 14]

Vee Barlett: Singing a song about climbing mountains? That's great, but you gotta prove you can actually do such things. Gift giving, all that.

Ruffus DeOrange: Well how about...

Ruffus DeOrange: I was a little too tall Could've used a few pounds Tight pants points hardly renown She was a black haired beauty with big dark eyes And points all her own, sitting way up high Way up firm and high

Ruffus DeOrange: Not sure how I want the rest of it to move

Ruffus DeOrange: It seems to flow but it not quite

Ruffus DeOrange: We weren't in love, oh no far from it We weren't searchin’ for some pie in the sky summit We were just young and restless and bored Living by the sword And we'd steal away every chance we could To the backroom, to the alley, or the trusty woods I used her, she used me But neither one cared We were getting our share

Levi Reed: snickers slightly, thinking that Vee is going to have to allowed herself to be wooed by this clown

Vee Barlett: You got the noun, but where's the verb? How are you going from past to future? There's the present you're missing.

Vee Barlett: is very aware of that and will kill Levi later

Ashling Ambrose: I have one that is too .... wistful...

Ashling Ambrose: She runs down the staircase And into the yard And she goes down to the end of the drive With her friends on the phone And her angels on guard She's just recently feeling alive After all of the tears and the changes Now there's something that's taken ahold She's becoming gold She's becoming gold She thinks of a boy That she knew back in school And she wonders if he's doing all right The man of her dreams Isn't all that he seems And the baby don't sleep through the night Something is moving inside her And the weather is turning so cold But she's becoming gold, She's becoming gold She's becoming gold (I've seen her) She's becoming gold She can hear in the distance The sound of the cars And she sees the snow falling down on the hill Now the trees and the houses Are white as the stars And she doesn't wanna cry But she probably will As she thinks about all of life's mystery And how slowly the answers unfold She's becoming gold She's becoming gold

Ashling Ambrose: It does not seem to have a good ending

Levi Reed: I kind of like the ending of that one

Vee Barlett: It's got some mystery to the ending. Makes you think.

Ashling Ambrose: Thank you

Ashling Ambrose: I want people to feel the yearning

Ashling Ambrose: but to know it can find something?

Vee Barlett: Like the sea.

Carissa (Vee Barlett): she's so single track mind sometimes

Ashling Ambrose: OH OH

Vee Barlett: Yearning to go somewhere, not sure where, but you can find something if you sail far enough.

Ashling Ambrose: I have one about the sea!

Ashling Ambrose: Let me think

Ashling Ambrose: Shakes her head slightly

Ashling Ambrose: Umm

Ashling Ambrose: Ummm

Ashling Ambrose: I could hear the shutters banging In my mother's house And the wind just kept blowing off the lake I ran down to the front door And told the ambulance man "Everything's all right here Sir There must be some mistake" Saints preserve us We're all going down This ship is sinking in the sea Saints preserve us And carry us along For we may be together in eternity My father was staring off into another world And my mother she was laying very still The baby was crying And I tried to block it out Then from somewhere deep inside me Came a deathly chill Saints preserve us Wherever we might fall This is all too big a mystery I remember I was standing in the corner of the room Saying "Look at how she's leaving us So quietly so soon" And in her final hour I saw her reaching up her hands Like she was asking to be taken high above us Didn't she love us? Saints preserve us We're all going down This ship is sinking in the sea Saints preserve us And carry us along For we may be together in eternity Saints preserve us Saints preserve us Wherever we may fall Saints preserve us Saints preserve us And carry us along

Vee Barlett: is still confused what cars and ambulances are but listening

Lirtimya: Trying to think of a song, books on music are not something she often reads, but maybe she can try to remember one or two

Carissa (Vee Barlett): (or a sea shanty!)

BOB Yeah I did not edit after the first three songs

Carissa (Vee Barlett): lol

BOB Go for it JTom

Vee Barlett: Well that's.... kind of melancholy and haunting.

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): I'm trying my best to find a song here lol, I'm getting nothing from any of the songs I listen to commonly enough to be on a playlist

Carissa (Vee Barlett): any of them are fine!

Lemon (Levi Reed): Yeah, just pick whatever's your favorite right now

Lemon (Levi Reed): I'm about to start with some preschool songs here

Carissa (Vee Barlett): Lirt can even claim she doesn't know why she shared it, but it was stuck in her head - eyeworm!

Ruffus DeOrange: Starts humming

Ruffus DeOrange: Tonight I cried the tears of a child Who knows what fear runs deep and wild Inside But the river's in flood tonight I lay down and the light streamed across my face I felt the beauty of some deeper grace And I tried To find my way to the other side I feel your skin as smooth as silk Drunk like a baby on his mama's milk Take me down under the wishing tree Lay your healing hands on me Been a long time sailing this deserted ship There's no messiahs out here, baby But I found the holy grail all right 'Cause I'm lying in your arms tonight Yeah.... I feel your skin as smooth as silk Drunk like a baby on his mama's milk Take me down under the wishing tree Lay your healing hands on me Lay your healing hands on me....

Jeanne Massouchanteau: I have a strange one

Vee Barlett: Points for sailing. Although one or two parts seemed a bit repetitive.

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): K I actually found one, finally lol

BOB Go for it

Lirtimya: King and Queen of the Pelicans we No other Birds so grand we see None but we have feet like fins With lovely leathery throats and chins Ploffskin, Pluffskin, Pelican jee We think no birds so happy as we Plumpskin, Ploshkin, Pelican jill We think so then, and we thought so still We live on the Nile, The Nile we love By night we sleep on the cliffs above By day we fish, and at eve we stand On long bare islands of yellow sand And when the sun sinks slowly down And the great rock walls grow dark and brown Where the purple river rolls fast and dim And the ivory Ibis starlike skim Wing to wing we dance around Stamping our feet with a flumpy sound Opening our mouths as Pelicans ought And this is the song we nightly snort King and Queen of the Pelicans we No other Birds so grand we see None but we have feet like fins With lovely leathery throats and chins Ploffskin, Pluffskin, Pelican jee We think no birds so happy as we Plumpskin, Ploshkin, Pelican jill We think so then, and we thought so still

Levi Reed: Oooh, that's really nice

Levi Reed: I didn't know you had it in you, Lirt

Ashling Ambrose: That is very interesting

Lirtimya: Thank you

Vee Barlett: Ah, see? Lirt knows a good one.

Vee Barlett: Missin' an albatross, but otherwise that one calls to me.

Jeanne Massouchanteau: This one is maybe closer to the ocean?

Jeanne Massouchanteau: I talk to you in turbulence That's when I see the light But she has visions on the hillside Then she speaks in tongues all night You've got such a faithful little servant Why don't you pay her no mind? She prays for Providence She needs a little more of your attention She waits for Providence Just a little intervention She was sailing on the ocean blue She felt the presence of something strange She could not tell if it was alien She only knew her life would change If you were sending down a message Why do you hang her on a line? She prays for Providence I don't know why you cannot hear her She waits for Providence Are you just waiting to be near her Are you thinking something And not letting on? Will she understand what you planned Before she's gone? She prays for Providence She needs a little more of your attention She waits for Providence Just a little intervention

Vee Barlett: Now that one I like. Most relatable yet.

Vee Barlett: glances at Ruffus

Ruffus DeOrange: Jeanne, you do have a certain way of telling a story

Vee Barlett: takes notes to introduce Rothuss to Jeanne

Ruffus DeOrange: I have one more in me today

Ruffus DeOrange: You'll never know how much I love you You'll never know how much I care When you put your arms around me I get a fever that's so hard to bear (You give me such a) Fever in the morning Fever all through the night Fever when you kiss me, baby And fever when you hold me tight The sun lights up the daytime The moon lights up the night Yeah but I light up every time you call my name And I know you're gonna treat me right (You know I just can't stand by myself, 'Cause I got a fever....)

Ashling Ambrose: Looking around the audience

Vee Barlett: nods in appreciation

Levi Reed: We got a priest who could take care of that for ya

Ashling Ambrose: Young lady? What is your name? (looking at Vee)

Levi Reed: Not sure where he is at the moment

Ashling Ambrose: Don't be shy

Vee Barlett: You can call me Violet, m'am.

Ashling Ambrose: You have not offered up a verse yet

Vee Barlett: I prefer listening to them.

Ashling Ambrose: smiles

Ashling Ambrose: we are here to hear you

Ashling Ambrose: You must have a bit of a verse inside you

Vee Barlett: sighs

Vee Barlett: Alright, let me think...

Vee Barlett: There once was a ship that put to sea The name of the ship was the Billy O' Tea The winds blew up, her bow dipped down Oh blow, my bully boys, blow (huh) Soon may the Wellerman come To bring us sugar and tea and rum One day, when the tonguing is done We'll take our leave and go She'd not been two weeks from shore When down on her a right whale bore The captain called all hands and swore He'd take that whale in tow (huh) Soon may the Wellerman come To bring us sugar and tea and rum One day, when the tonguing is done We'll take our leave and go

Vee Barlett: Only sea shanties, but they're their own type o' poetry.

Lirtimya: It is quite nice

Ashling Ambrose: That is fun

Ashling Ambrose: Very nice

Vee Barlett: Heartbreak is sometimes better soothed with a good shanty. And rum.

(LINK)

Carissa (Vee Barlett): lol

Jeanne Massouchanteau: I have one last one for the afternoon before I must leave

Jeanne Massouchanteau: Listen old soldier Wherever you are The hills or the valleys Come near or come far They say youth is a treasure We waste when we're young So come down from that place Where your medals are hung You're forever returning And yearning to fight And you feel just like An old soldier tonight... Listen old soldier 'Cause time doesn't wait The moon's on your shoulder And the hour is late And something there inside Still calls out to you And you won't fade away Whatever you do You're forever beginning Barely winning the fight You feel just like An old soldier tonight... You're not getting no younger That much is true now But you still got that hunger Burning in you now So what do you do now? (What do you do now?) Listen old soldier To the sound in your ears Of too many battles Of too many years But there's only one thing You've learned in defeat: That losing is bitter And victory is sweet Yeah you're always unravelling Travelling light And you feel just like An old soldier tonight You feel just like An old soldier tonight (That's right) Just an old soldier...

Ashling Ambrose: Jeane you always do have a meloncoly theme

Levi Reed: Violet, you've never had your heart broken in your life, how would you know?

Vee Barlett: She does, but that one is a right balance of melancholy and... something else?

Vee Barlett: None I've told you, pal.

Lirtimya: I quite enjoyed it

Ashling Ambrose: Please do everyone come join us for refreshments in the sunroom

Ashling Ambrose: Leading the way to a side room

Vee Barlett: follows

Vee Barlett: and wonders if Rothuss will ever return

Lirtimya: Follows

Levi Reed: Are you talking about that time when you found out that person you were chasing was a half-sibling?

BOB BRB as you all gather and try to whisper about what to do

Carissa (Vee Barlett): (Rothuss seems to have a bad habit of either being unconscious or unconsioucs OR dragged off)

Lemon (Levi Reed): Obviously Vee needs to go flirt with him

Vee Barlett: elbows Levi, hard

Vee Barlett: whispers, "Dumbass, don't talk."

TMO (Rothuss Carder): (I was told I was involved elsewhere. did I miss an invitation to return?)

Vee Barlett: "I'll do what I need to do, but you better shut your mouth before you ruin this chance I have, got it?"

Vee Barlett: "Or I'll Dad that super embarrassing story you know will forever color his opinion of you."

Carissa (Vee Barlett): (lol no, just me telling Bobit'd be nice if you returned so you were included)

Carissa (Vee Barlett): *I'll tell

Levi Reed: I don't have a chance with your dad anyway, go ahead

Vee Barlett: That means access to his wardrobe and fashion sense, too.

Levi Reed: ugh, fine

Vee Barlett: Either way, shut your mouth and think for a second before you ruin anything.

Levi Reed: I'm sure finding half siblings isn't that uncommon

Vee Barlett: Dont. Give. Anything. Away.

Levi Reed: I need to get a drink so I can think straight

Vee Barlett: Hopefully they'll have some at the refreshments.

Vee Barlett: Lirt, you keep an eye on Levi, yeah?

Lirtimya: On it

Vee Barlett: Thank ya, m'am.

Levi Reed: I don't need a babysit.... yeah, ok, you make a good point

Vee Barlett: If he wants to flirt, then we're gonna flirt. Ugh. Dad would be proud.

Levi Reed: Awww, wittle Viowet, aww gwown up

Vee Barlett: I want to punch you so bad right now.

Lirtimya: Sighs and rubs her temples

Lemon (Levi Reed): I've never had a brother, but I feel like I'm nailing the brother vibe

Carissa (Vee Barlett): convos with my brother often end with me punching him so... yes

Carissa (Vee Barlett): although he would have more tact in social situations :P

Lemon (Levi Reed): Even when he was 17?

Carissa (Vee Barlett): well he at least took the hint faster

Levi Reed: Oh, Levi gets the hint, he's just choosing to ignore it

Lemon (Levi Reed): ooc

BOB HAH

Carissa (Vee Barlett): aware of that, lol

BOB We are jumping to Rothuss (and Melange if Sharif is here)

TMO (Rothuss Carder): jumps suddenly into focus

Carissa (Vee Barlett): melange went with him? fun

BOB The rest of the group has been gone into the Cohn Theater for a while now

Shislif (MeLange): sorry got into a convo with Kevin gimme a few mins i'll wrap it up

BOB Rothus spent a bit of time there trying to see what the slight of hand was about but did not understand the intricacies

BOB What else around the college would he like to explore? knowing that he will have to train somewhere, with someone, eventually

TMO (Rothuss Carder): (my pick pockets is too low to fully learn the tricks)

BOB and Jericho is not here to earn a new name either

BOB but we have the two bards with options now

TMO (Rothuss Carder): well, he only has the 3 thiefish skills he can improve at 2nd - no new NWPs. Climb Walls, Detect Noise, Pick Pockets.

BOB Yes but will need more in the future

BOB ALready close to third

TMO (Rothuss Carder): I haven't considered future NWPs yet. I will have to do that. For now then, he will wander with an eye open, seeing what's available, and have his mind opened to future possibilities.

BOB And around the college now?

BOB Grab me when you have something you need to accomplish,

BOB want to make sure everyone has a place to go as they want

BOB but we can slip back to the sun room with Vee, Levi, and Lirt

Neha Elfbreath: Helloooo THereeee

TMO (Rothuss Carder): Rothuss hasn't considered any future goals yet. This will expand his horizons a bit.

Neha Elfbreath: HOW are you!

Carissa (Vee Barlett): elfbreath??

Neha Elfbreath: SOOOOO nice to seeee you

Neha Elfbreath: yooooooo

Carissa (Vee Barlett): so do they smell woodsy??

Vee Barlett: Er, hi?

Neha Elfbreath: Can I fetch a water for Yoooooooo

Levi Reed: You have anything a bit stronger?

Neha Elfbreath: Whisky coming right up

Levi Reed: Fantastic

Kala Ocean: Neha can you bring us some cookies please?

Lirtimya: I'll take water

Levi Reed: nudges Vee

Levi Reed: Go chat up your new beau

Neha Elfbreath: I have lemon or I have ginger for yooooooooooo

Vee Barlett: sighs

Vee Barlett: This isn't my strong point.

Levi Reed: Lemon, please

Kala Ocean: Ginger please Neha

Carissa (Vee Barlett): No lemon!

Neha Elfbreath: Goes off to fetch sweets

Kala Ocean: Hello

Kala Ocean: How is everyone doing this afternoon?

Kala Ocean: Welcome to our pacing workshop

Carissa (Vee Barlett): another workshop?? I thought we were getting free food!

Kala Ocean: Today we will work on timing and making sure you can keep a beat

Kala Ocean: One Two One Two

Kala Ocean: Can you keep with that?

Kala Ocean: It is just like rowing on a ship

Kala Ocean: PUSH PULL

Kala Ocean: PUSH PULL

Vee Barlett: mutters, "And yet still difficult for so many."

Ruffus DeOrange: Winks at Kala, I agree

Lirtimya: nudges Vee with a smirk

Ruffus DeOrange: PUSH

Levi Reed -> Vee Barlett: Why the hell is Ruffus even here?

Ruffus DeOrange: PUSH

Ruffus DeOrange: PULL

Ruffus DeOrange: PULL

Vee Barlett -> Levi Reed: Tryin' to impress people? Poet who has a side job? A college like this teaches more thanpoetry if ya didn't notice.

Kala Ocean: No no you need to learn to keep to an easy pace before you experiment

Vee Barlett: You can't push twice without pullin' first.

Kala Ocean: Yes

Kala Ocean: Pull

Kala Ocean: push push

Levi Reed -> Vee Barlett: Yeah, but he's not at the morethanpoetry workshop

Kala Ocean: pull

Vee Barlett: Er, if ya wanna go in a circle, sure. But ya gotta go an even push, pull, push pull but put heart into it.

Kala Ocean: One two three

Kala Ocean: One two three

Kala Ocean: One two two three

Kala Ocean: One two two three

Vee Barlett -> Levi Reed: Matty does more than pickpocket. Ain't they allowed to have other hobbies?

Levi Reed -> Vee Barlett: Does he!?

Lirtimya: Humming a small tune softly and watching the class happening

Kala Ocean: We have some new people here today

Shislif (MeLange): ok sorry I'm back I was kinda feelin for the right time to leave the conversation, just gotta bio break n i'm good to go

Vee Barlett -> Levi Reed: Ask him one day.

Kala Ocean: You look like you might have some experience with timing (looking at Lirt)

Lirtimya: Not much, but I have some

Kala Ocean: Do you have a favorite beat?

Lirtimya: Not really, just whatever will match my current task

Kala Ocean: Versitle is a good thing

Neha Elfbreath: Here are Your Cookieeeeeeeees

Neha Elfbreath: We have lemon and ginger for yoooooooo both

Neha Elfbreath: and the salt one for yoooooooooo Lord Orange

Ruffus DeOrange: Smiles and takes two off of her plate

Lirtimya: What about you? Do you have a favorite beat?

Kala Ocean: I prefer a 4 4 time

Kala Ocean: one two three one two three

Lirtimya: Nods

Kala Ocean: every beat on a moment

Kala Ocean: take the downbeat and make it work

Kala Ocean: ONE down two life three over ONE down

Shislif (MeLange): ok now i'm good to go

Kala Ocean: What brings our young new listeners to our concert series?

BOB I will say that Melange and Rothuss are looking through the Cohn theater for the rest of the group

Carissa (Vee Barlett): (kala, that's 3/4 not 4/4 come on girl)

Erlathan Twoaxe: HEY HEY HEY

Vee Barlett: Just tryin' to broaden my horizons while in town.

Vee Barlett: Meet people, all that.

Erlathan Twoaxe: How is everyone doing today!

BOB you should point that out Vee grins

MeLange: Hey Rothuss sorry i been out of it recently

Rothuss Carder: leans against a wall to observe.

Rothuss Carder: claps MeLange on the shoulder.

Vee Barlett: But ain't 4/4 one two three four while 3/4 is what you're soundin' out?

Erlathan Twoaxe: I am here for your stringing needs

Levi Reed: Yeah, Violet has been a little lonely lately

Kala Ocean: warm smile at Vee

MeLange: Thanks man, you know sometimes I get these feelings, and like... I just don't know what to do with them

Rothuss Carder: No worries, man. I can imagine a person getting overwhelmed here.

MeLange: and I'm like "you're better than this!"

Kala Ocean: What you mean is a dance move

MeLange: but then I'm like

Kala Ocean: Step one two three four STEP one two three four

MeLange: "maybe I'm not better than this"

MeLange: sad face

Kala Ocean: when you need to life and push like rowing it is ONE down two up three over ONE down

User has gone AFK. (Lemon)

Vee Barlett: Nah, my pa taught me a bit. I don't play, but basic 4/4 is one two three four. If you wanna keep a steady beat, but only three, it's 3/4.

MeLange: Where's the gang anyway Rothuss? I need something to do, keep my mind busy

Kala Ocean: Frowns at Vee, I think I know how to row

Rothuss Carder: Cohn theatre, over there. C'mon, man, let's go find them.

Vee Barlett: Oh, rowin? That's basic 2/4. Push, pull. You make it too complicated, the crew gets confused.

Ruffus DeOrange: Whipsers in Vee's ear, she is not part of the school, she just thinks she is

MeLange: Ok fine if you insist

Kala Ocean: Here are new guests!

MeLange: Does Rothuss mean anything?

Kala Ocean: Looking at Melange and Rothuss

MeLange: Like the name "Rothuss"?

Vee Barlett: whispers back, "Ah, that explains a lot. You'd think sone knows how to row, right?"

Carissa (Vee Barlett): *someone

Carissa (Vee Barlett): how'd that get shorttened so bad??

Neha Elfbreath: Do yooooo want Teeeeeee?

MeLange: Oh hello

MeLange: Rothuss say hello

Rothuss Carder: waves.

Vee Barlett: (to Ruffus) Don't think we formely met. Violet.

Neha Elfbreath: Helooooooo

Vee Barlett: holds out hand

Ruffus DeOrange: Bends and kisses her hand, Hello I am Ruffus

User is back. (Lemon)

Vee Barlett: smiles

Vee Barlett: A charmer, eh?

Rothuss Carder: Tea'd be great, luv, thanks.

Ruffus DeOrange: Not if you are noticing, then it does not work

Vee Barlett: laughs

Vee Barlett: Then you need to keep practicin', yeah?

Neha Elfbreath: Teeee for Yooooooo

Ruffus DeOrange: I will try harder

Ashling Ambrose: Comes into the room

Vee Barlett: Oh? I have time to see what else you can do.

Ashling Ambrose: Kala! What are you doing, I have told you to stay in the student seats

Ruffus DeOrange: I am certain that time stands still around you

Kala Ocean: I was just teaching rowing

Ashling Ambrose: Please sit down and we can pick up on our lesson this afternoon

Ashling Ambrose: Today we are talking about LISTENING

Ashling Ambrose: Can anyone tell me the most important part of listening?

Vee Barlett: Mm, maybe we can explore that more after this lesson?

Rothuss Carder: And I guess we will be listening to talking about listening?

Lemon (Levi Reed): Oh hey, I could give this class lol

Vee Barlett: winks and goes to sit down

MeLange: we're guests Roth

Ashling Ambrose: Did you say something young man?

Rothuss Carder: looks innocent.

MeLange: nudges Rothuss

Rothuss Carder: No, carry on please.

MeLange: relief

Levi Reed: goes to sit by Rothuss and MeLange, who are clearly having more fun

MeLange: smells Levi

Ashling Ambrose: Looks at Rothuss,

Ashling Ambrose: Then tell me what is the most important part about listening?

Lirtimya: Sits next to Levi, she was tasked with keeping him in check after all

Carissa (Vee Barlett): lol yesss

Shislif (MeLange): lol

Rothuss Carder: Two things, I guess. Paying attention, and not being deaf?

Vee Barlett: pointedly looks at the empty seat next to her and then at Ruffus

Ashling Ambrose: I think that being deaf would not help at all I agree

MeLange: gives Rothuss a thumbs up

Ashling Ambrose: Looking over at Vee

Ashling Ambrose: Tell me something about how to listen?

MeLange: nudges Vee

Vee Barlett: Give them your full attention.

Ashling Ambrose: Good

Ashling Ambrose: and you young man? Looking at Melange, what happens when you do not listen?

MeLange: looks at Rothuss

Lemon (Levi Reed): you get sent to the office to talk to the principal

MeLange: you get in trouble?

Rothuss Carder -> MeLange: One of us whaps you upside the head.

Ashling Ambrose: Yes you do

MeLange -> Rothuss Carder: ouch

MeLange: looks at Rothuss

MeLange: what was that for?

Ashling Ambrose: Now looking at Levi, tell me why you think listening is so important in singing

TMO (Rothuss Carder): (He whispered that to you - that's what happens when you don't listen.)

Levi Reed: So you can hit the right notes and not sound like a tone deaf vulture

Shislif (MeLange): oh lol

Ashling Ambrose: Exactly

Ashling Ambrose: and you Lord Deorange, who should you be listening to right now?

Lemon (Levi Reed): please say vee please say vee

Ruffus DeOrange: glances over at Vee with a wink, To the most interesting person in the room

Carissa (Vee Barlett): close enough

Erlathan Twoaxe: Seriously

Vee Barlett: smiles

Erlathan Twoaxe: You think that is what will win you points?

Erlathan Twoaxe: Shakes his head

Erlathan Twoaxe: You need to listen my boy

Lemon (Levi Reed): This is too much like preschool

Ruffus DeOrange: I thought that was the point of the lesson?

Carissa (Vee Barlett): lol

Ashling Ambrose: I think he has expressed some nice points

Shislif (MeLange): lol

Erlathan Twoaxe: Pisssing in the pot, he is just parroting

Shislif (MeLange): I'm just glad i'm not in trouble

Levi Reed: You don't always need to win, sometimes you just have to rack up enough points to stay in the game

MeLange: yea Levi says that a lot

Erlathan Twoaxe: I am done with repair today it seems

MeLange: ok

Erlathan Twoaxe: so looking in here to see how you are treating miss Ambrose

Erlathan Twoaxe: and it seems none of you have a thought in your head about why to listen

Erlathan Twoaxe: or HOW to listen

Erlathan Twoaxe: or what to listen FOR

MeLange: ummm

Ruffus DeOrange: Listen to her pulse so that you can tell when she is calm and when she is excited

Neha Elfbreath: Listen to Meeeeee

MeLange: seems a little rude

Kala Ocean: To the beat of the waves

Ashling Ambrose: looks around

Levi Reed: You can't listen to a pulse, you have to feel it

Ashling Ambrose: Good

Ashling Ambrose: Tell us more there young man

Vee Barlett: Listen to the colors of the wind.

MeLange: you can't listen to a pulse?

Levi Reed: looks at Vee pointedly, as if to say, "Ruffus is totally going to feel your pulse tonight"

Carissa (Vee Barlett): (can you paint with themmmm)

Vee Barlett: pointedly ignores Levi

Levi Reed: Well like... the pulse is just the beat. You can listen to the beat, but you FEEL the pulse

MeLange: I don't know when the music gets going I think I feel the beat

Levi Reed: It's the physical version of the beat

Vee Barlett: is confused if Levi is helping her or making things worse

Rothuss Carder: Rothuss leans back and remains uncharacteristically quiet.

MeLange: thinks: Roth is so cool

TMO (Rothuss Carder): no need to stir the pot when it's already bubbling just fine. ;)

MeLange: oh ok Levi

Carissa (Vee Barlett): but what if the bottom is burning but you can't tell unless you stir?

Shislif (MeLange): lol

Ashling Ambrose: We will come back to drumming tomorrow

Levi Reed: I was talking about the heart, MeLange... but I guess it applies to music too?

Levi Reed: looks at Vee again

MeLange: Very poetic of you Levi, I'm impressed

MeLange: music of the heart

Vee Barlett: is still very much ignoring Levi

Ashling Ambrose: It is true that the beating of a heart can be very helpful

MeLange: put that on your tombstone

Lemon (Levi Reed): Wait, pretend he didn't say MeLange's full name

Levi Reed: [SKILL] Artistic Ability [MOD:WIS] (vs. Target 14) [SUCCESS by 5] [d20 = 9]

Levi Reed: that's because I'm a poet man

Ashling Ambrose: So what do you tell people about listening young man?

Ashling Ambrose: Lookign at Levi

MeLange: Yea tell her Levi

Levi Reed: I mostly tell them that they can't listen if they're still talking

Lemon (Levi Reed): I say that many times a day, to the kids

Ashling Ambrose: If you are singing you still need to listen

Shislif (MeLange): lol

Rothuss Carder: You gotta read the audience, man.

Levi Reed: Sure but you have to listen selectively

Levi Reed: If you're listening to everything, you're going to mess up

Ashling Ambrose: Selective listening

MeLange: to the sound... of silence

Levi Reed: Get distracted

MeLange: squirrel?

Levi Reed: Like if you're next to someone who won't shut up

Levi Reed: You have to learn to tune them out

MeLange: what was that Levi?

Levi Reed: When it's important

Ruffus DeOrange: I think that listening to the pacing of the words, to the rise and fall of the pitch in a voice can tell you a lot about what someone is trying to NOT say

MeLange: how so?

Lemon (Levi Reed): Oh dang, be careful Vee

Erlathan Twoaxe: You are not listening so you are listening better?

Lirtimya: taps the nearest flat object as if to comment she has something to add

Levi Reed: Hey, this could be useful information for you Mel. With Beth. You should listen.

MeLange: I sh ouldl isten to Beth?

MeLange: excuse me

MeLange: listen to Beth?

MeLange: wait

Levi Reed: No, you should listen to what this guy has to say about what people are NOT saying... and then apply it next time you talk to Beth

Ashling Ambrose: Looks over at Lirt, you spoke a verse or three tell me where you found that? who did you listen to?

MeLange: where is Beth?

MeLange: ackI'm getting a headache

MeLange: listen to what people are not saying?!

Rothuss Carder: pats MeL's shoulder.

MeLange: breathing heavily

Lirtimya: I read, and made a tune from the verse structure I was given, I have read a few books on music, both with music in them and about structure

Rothuss Carder: Stay with us, big guy. Don't read too much into it all.

MeLange: Hey Roth what's up?

Ashling Ambrose: Nods, very nice

MeLange: Ok

Ashling Ambrose: Who here thinks that Structure is more important? and who thinks that Content is more important?

MeLange: Thanks Roth, you're a cool guy

Rothuss Carder: Eh, don't tell me that too often, might go to my head.

Vee Barlett: Structure.

MeLange: Ok, only when you deserve it then

Ruffus DeOrange: Content

Lirtimya: A structure can be fine by itself, but if there is no content there is no reason for structure, you cannot have one without the other

MeLange: you could tell me I'm a cool guy all the time, if you like

Vee Barlett: raises brow at Ruffus

Ruffus DeOrange: If you have well crafted content you can use it in many different structures, but if you only have one structure, one way of performing people will get bored

Vee Barlett: But if your structure is all over the place, your content gets lost.

Vee Barlett: You don't have the structure right, you won't get the content across.

MeLange: what good is muscle without bones?

Vee Barlett: thinks to herself, "Like a ship."

Ruffus DeOrange: If it is important to hear then you will hear it no matter where it is played

MeLange: Levi listen to what I didn't say~

User has gone AFK. (JtomTMO)

Rothuss Carder: That's kinda like asking, which is more important, a roof or walls, for your house? Missing either one leads to a not good house.

Vee Barlett: You have to convince them it's important to hear first.

Erlathan Twoaxe: a house if made of hearts not hearths

MeLange: oh dang

Lemon (Levi Reed): lol

Ashling Ambrose: Beams

MeLange: hearts and beams?

Levi Reed: Nah, that's a family

Ashling Ambrose: That was very nicely crafted Erlathan

Levi Reed: A house requires hearths

Shislif (MeLange): did Bob just compliment himself? :)

Carissa (Vee Barlett): lol probably

Erlathan Twoaxe: You can have a hearth anywhere

Erlathan Twoaxe: But you can only have a heart if you are alive

MeLange: hmm good point

Levi Reed: And you can only have a house if you have a house

MeLange: it is great to heave a beating heart

Vee Barlett: But a house isn't a home without a heart.

Ruffus DeOrange: The pulse that pounds

Levi Reed: No one said anything about homes

MeLange: home is a house WITH a heart

Ashling Ambrose: I am so proud of you all

Ashling Ambrose: We do need to break for the day

MeLange: is there a cafeteria?

Ashling Ambrose: I think we had a good conversation

Ashling Ambrose: and I do hope that you all join us again tomorrow

Ashling Ambrose: Lord DeOrange do you need your bags?

Levi Reed: Wouldn't miss it for all the whiskey in the world

MeLange: I hear he has a lot of baggage

Ruffus DeOrange: I will leave them here with you Ashling, I will come back later on tonight

Vee Barlett: looks at Levi meaningfully, finallly

Neha Elfbreath: I will hold them for yoooooooo

Vee Barlett: hopes he can read her mental demands as clearly as Matty can

Rothuss Carder: test

-> Rothuss Carder: yes

Erlathan Twoaxe: Wraps an arm around Levi and the other around Vee

Erlathan Twoaxe: You two look like you need a drink

Rothuss Carder: Rothuss is listening carefully to Ruffus' voice. do you need a check for memorizing it?

Vee Barlett: A drink would be nice...

Vee Barlett: looking over at Ruffus

-> Rothuss Carder: um?

Levi Reed: Oh, I definitely do. But I was wondering if this fine lady would like to join us...

Levi Reed: looks at Neha

Erlathan Twoaxe: you have been arguing with each other without listening to each other

MeLange: Hey I like drinks

Rothuss Carder: Voice Mimickry, man! Think of the possibilities!

-> Rothuss Carder: Rothuss listenign to who?

Rothuss Carder: Ruffus, our peg legged target

Carissa (Vee Barlett): (ok someone better plan on going through those bags if we can distract Ruffus, just tossing that out there)

Levi Reed: Your hospitality was wonderful ma'am. Your whiskey was fine and your lemon cookies finer. What is your name?

-> Rothuss Carder: Ahh sorry missed, thought you said Ruffus mimicing Ruffus and was like ummmmm

Neha Elfbreath: I am Nehaaaaaaaaa

Rothuss Carder: no, sorry - I didn't give you much context for my question.

Levi Reed: It's so lovely to meet you

Shislif (MeLange): brb

Neha Elfbreath: Thank Youuuuuuuuu

User has gone AFK. (Shislif)

Levi Reed: I'm Levi (prounouned the opposite way from how it's really pronounced)

Levi Reed: Would you care to join us for a drink?

Neha Elfbreath: I have to clean up first

Neha Elfbreath: I will see you tomorrow

Vee Barlett: tries to slip out of Erlathan's grip

Levi Reed: Can I help you?

Vee Barlett: [CHECK] Dexterity (vs. Target 15) [SUCCESS by 6] [d20 = 9]

Lirtimya: Stands up and walks to Vee

Erlathan Twoaxe: Lets go of Vee momentarily

Vee Barlett: pulls Lirt in to be taken in her place

Lirtimya: Mutters "Guess that works as well"

Vee Barlett -> Lirtimya: Just tryin' to distract our friend, give you all a chance to look through any bags left, Be careful, yeah?

Vee Barlett: winks and walks off to find Ruffus

Lirtimya -> Vee Barlett: I'll stay safe

BOB grrrr

Vee Barlett -> Lirtimya: I owe you, First Matey!

BOB sorry I am being called away

BOB I will be back but might take a while, sorry, try to continue,

Lemon (Levi Reed): Tell her we love her!

Lirtimya -> Vee Barlett: That's three now, don't let the count get too high

BOB I will thanks, she is having a rough night

Carissa (Vee Barlett): no worries, we love Nyrma so go do what you need!

Lirtimya: Winks jokingly at Vee

BOB You did manage to get LaOrange aside and you have him separated from his bags

BOB will try to get back sorry

Vee Barlett -> Lirtimya: I'll try not, but at least you don't demand anything ridiculous in return. Would a library trip at least pay for one?

Lirtimya -> Vee Barlett: Of course, bonus points if I can keep a couple of the more interesting books

Lemon (Levi Reed): Someone go check them while I'm chatting up this lady who's supposed to be watching them

Vee Barlett -> Lirtimya: See? Reasonable payment! I'll work somethin' out, either from that library or see if my sources can find ya the books ya want.

Carissa (Vee Barlett): (and Vee is busy distracting LeOrange so that's up to Rothuss orMelange and maybe Lirt, but think she's now stuck with Twoaxe)

TMO (Rothuss Carder): does Rothuss know the bags are nearby to be searched?

Carissa (Vee Barlett): the lady said it outloud so yes

Rothuss Carder: nudges MeL's shoulder and jerks his head in that directions.

Rothuss Carder: C'mon, man, let's get some air while they're all yakking.

Lirtimya -> Vee Barlett: Thanks Vee, you know just how to make my day

Rothuss Carder: Maybe we can find Beth for you.

Vee Barlett -> Lirtimya: Anytime! This is why we're friends.

Shislif (MeLange): Mel doesn't have any searching skills he may not be the best option

Lirtimya -> Vee Barlett: Well, you go get busy now, I'll stay here and keep this one distracted

Vee Barlett -> Lirtimya: grins and waves

TMO (Rothuss Carder): can always use a lookout

Carissa (Vee Barlett): or an alibi if he gets caught

Shislif (MeLange): sounds he good, he could prolly distract

Lemon (Levi Reed): Should we leave some rolls for when BOB gets back?

MeLange: ok Roth

MeLange: oh yea, where DID she disappear off to?

Rothuss Carder: Yeah, I'm a bit tired of just listening. Not really my thing, y'know?

MeLange: what do you feel like doing then?

Rothuss Carder: Maybe there's a drink around here somewhere...

Rothuss Carder: leads MeLange out of the room towards teh bags

MeLange: such sweat words

MeLange: sweet

MeLange: sweet words

MeLange: notices bags

MeLange: notices Rothuss

MeLange: Stands with his back towards the baggage hoping to block the view of outsiders

MeLange: in a superman pose

TMO (Rothuss Carder): are the bags here in the room, or in a different room?

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): Not consicuous at all

Shislif (MeLange): lol dang right

Shislif (MeLange): He always stands that way :)

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): Instead of ever moving his legs to walk he just waddles around always in that pose

Lemon (Levi Reed): I'm pretty sure they're in the room, but not 100%

Lemon (Levi Reed): lol mini

Carissa (Vee Barlett): "I will leave them here with you Ashling, I will come back later on tonight"

Rothuss Carder: Rothuss trips near the bags and nearly falls down, but smoothly, and continues on, but now with a bag unobtrusively in his hand. (he hopes)

Rothuss Carder: [SKILL] Tumbling [MOD:DEX] (vs. Target 14) [SUCCESS by 4] [d20 = 10]

Rothuss Carder: [SKILL] Pick Pockets [PERCENT:Pick Pockets] (vs. Target 30) [FAILURE by 64] [d100 = 94]

Shislif (MeLange): lol

Carissa (Vee Barlett): ouch

TMO (Rothuss Carder): hopefully nobody's actually paying attention.... :D

Carissa (Vee Barlett): and hopefully they picked up on Vee again pretending to not know them, especially if they get caught :P

Vee Barlett: leans in closer to Ruffus

Shislif (MeLange): they're probably distracted by Mel's pose

Levi Reed: [SKILL] Alertness [MOD:WIS] (vs. Target 15) [FAILURE by 4] [d20 = 19]

Vee Barlett: rests her hand lightly on his arm

Shislif (MeLange): ohhhh

Lemon (Levi Reed): Going to attempt to distract them with poetry

Levi Reed: Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night. Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight, And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way, Do not go gentle into that good night. Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. And you, my father, there on the sad height, Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray. Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Levi Reed: [SKILL] Artistic Ability [MOD:WIS] (vs. Target 14) [FAILURE by 4] [d20 = 18]

Lemon (Levi Reed): Wow, harsh judgement of one of the most famous poems of all time, but ok

MeLange: tear

Vee Barlett: whispers something in Ruffus's ear, lingering just a second or two longer than necessary.

MeLange: such a beautiful poem... told so badly

Carissa (Vee Barlett): LOL

Lemon (Levi Reed): Lol

Lemon (Levi Reed): That's ok, maybe that will be distraction enough

Shislif (MeLange): yea distraction doesn't have to be quality

Vee Barlett: flirt flirt flirty flirt flirts

Shislif (MeLange): ohhhh as a distraction

TMO (Rothuss Carder): I hope you've learned the lessons Rothuss has been handing out on Flirting. ;)

Carissa (Vee Barlett): well she's using deception and chaos to her advantage so maybe?

Lirtimya: While not a huge fan of socialization with strangers she can't help but feel glad she's not stuck flirting to DeOrange or rummaging through bags

Carissa (Vee Barlett): she got off light here, man!

MeLange: Roth how you doin buddy ol pal?

Carissa (Vee Barlett): but vee will still get her books

Rothuss Carder: I'm good, man. Just tripped. Shall we go find that drink?

MeLange: yes please

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): TMO what was that book called from the last campaign I was part of?

TMO (Rothuss Carder): it was something unique from a book or list I hadn't seen before that I can recall.

Shislif (MeLange): brb refill

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): Well, whatever it was if I could get that it would be nice lol, maybe get that level 8 house spell again

User has gone AFK. (Shislif)

TMO (Rothuss Carder): pretty sure Bob won't let you have a book like that. :)

Carissa (Vee Barlett): never hurts to ask!

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): I know, would be funny though

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): It's a book with 1-100 pages in it, each page is either blank or has any spell on it from any class, and as long as that page is open you can cast it

Lemon (Levi Reed): Yeah, who knows what random crap he will throw at us

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): So if a level 1 mage had it they could theoretically cast a level 9 druid spell

Carissa (Vee Barlett): again never hurts to ask! might not get that, but who knows if he can find something somewhat similar and balancing in this game

Carissa (Vee Barlett): so vee can at least ask around for something similar and see if we get any hooks

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): Maybe when Vee lloks around for books to get Lirt she can look for something magic, idk

Lemon (Levi Reed): Yeah, especially at the bard college, you might find something interesting

Carissa (Vee Barlett): exactly! to the magic book looking, not sure about the college

Shislif (MeLange): i'm back!

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): What's better than a book? A magic book!

Shislif (MeLange): a magic movie?

Carissa (Vee Barlett): I prefer magical dead trees

Shislif (MeLange): :)

Shislif (MeLange): so like, we ever getting into any fights? Mel is a fighter after all

Shislif (MeLange): I'm sure i'll come to regret those words

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): Well, we can certainly try to make that tree scream, but I don't know if the magic lets it do that

Lemon (Levi Reed): lol

Lemon (Levi Reed): I'm sure we will get into plenty of fights

Shislif (MeLange): lol

Shislif (MeLange): you shut your mouth Lemon!

Carissa (Vee Barlett): lol

Lemon (Levi Reed): what?

Shislif (MeLange): lol just kidding, like getting into a fight

Shislif (MeLange): like we'll get into plenty of fight

Carissa (Vee Barlett): we can see if they have a secret underground fighting scene here3 for Mel

Shislif (MeLange): fights

Shislif (MeLange): that would be cool, plus good for Mel to train for when things get serious

Carissa (Vee Barlett): it was fun when Talwin did it, this time Vee would potentially enter, too, or at least cheer it on

Carissa (Vee Barlett): so I vote we try to find one

Shislif (MeLange): Hey Lemon sorry if that was a bad joke

Lemon (Levi Reed): Nah, you're good

Shislif (MeLange): cool cool just checking intention is not always clear in text

Shislif (MeLange): sooooo

Carissa (Vee Barlett): just waiting for Bob still

Shislif (MeLange): yea

Shislif (MeLange): "Waiting for Bob" there's a play

Levi Reed: I saw that in high school, and I really liked it, and everyone else absolutely hated it

Shislif (MeLange): waiting for bob?

Shislif (MeLange): is that movie?

Lemon (Levi Reed): Waiting for Godot

Lemon (Levi Reed): ooc also btw

Shislif (MeLange): oh yea lol sorry

Shislif (MeLange): yea I remember reading the play in high school

Carissa (Vee Barlett): don't know that one

Shislif (MeLange): didn't get it at all, should probably revisit that one one day

TMO (Rothuss Carder): thinking of the movie "What about Bob?" maybe?

Shislif (MeLange): didn't know they made a movie of it though

Shislif (MeLange): oh I love What about Bob!

Lemon (Levi Reed): I don't know if it's a movie, I saw a play

Shislif (MeLange): Baby steps!

Shislif (MeLange): yea it's more of a play thing

Lemon (Levi Reed): But it's these two guys, just sitting around talking, and waiting for Godot, who never shows. And I assume Godot is supposed to be God? I could be wrong about that. And I was just like, "yeah, this tracks."

Shislif (MeLange): Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfus

Shislif (MeLange): yea that was the gist of it as far as I understood

TMO (Rothuss Carder): Bill Murray, potential former Dragonslayer (but probably not)

Shislif (MeLange): what I didn't understand is why I should care?

Shislif (MeLange): total Dragonslayer

MeLange: Bill Murray's character in that movie cripples Richard Dreyfus and bangs his sister, he gangsta

Shislif (MeLange): OOC

Lemon (Levi Reed): Well, you don't have to care. But I did, because I was a teenager becoming increasinly disenfranchised from the religion I was brought up in

Shislif (MeLange): My bad I didn't mean to imply that it doesn't matter, just that it didn't resonate with me at the time, which is why I feel I should revisit that one

Levi Reed: No, that's the cool thing about art. It doesn't have to matter to you. The people that it matters to are the people it's for

Lemon (Levi Reed): ooc again

Lemon (Levi Reed): sorry carissa

Carissa (Vee Barlett): lol all of this is OOC, no worries

Carissa (Vee Barlett): easy to delete when it's a big block of OOC like this

Shislif (MeLange): true true excellent point

Rothuss Carder: (LINK)

(LINK)

TMO (Rothuss Carder): Bob has a theory that this player was Bill Murray researching a role. :D

MeLange: hard evidence right there

Shislif (MeLange): ooc

Lemon (Levi Reed): But what role?

Shislif (MeLange): good question

TMO (Rothuss Carder): I guess there was a movie that had him as a gamer of some sort? I don't know, I hadn't heard of it.

Shislif (MeLange): hmm

Lemon (Levi Reed): It's not the Bill Murray part I'm skeptical of, that sounds like something Bill Murray would do. It's the role in question that I'm skeptical of

TMO (Rothuss Carder): But I don't follow Willie M's films, he's only occasionally funny for me

Lemon (Levi Reed): Need more information

Shislif (MeLange): I liked What About Bob, just to be clear

Shislif (MeLange): Groundhog Day is awesome

Lemon (Levi Reed): I really liked him in Lost in Translation

Shislif (MeLange): Ghostusters obviously. Stripes is still cool but obviously problematic at times

Shislif (MeLange): Yea Lost in Translation more mature Bill Murray

Shislif (MeLange): Young Scarlet Johannsen

Shislif (MeLange): I know there are more Bill Murray movies

Lemon (Levi Reed): Maybe too many

Shislif (MeLange): oh the Man who knew too little

Shislif (MeLange): that was actually pretty funny

Shislif (MeLange): lol yea probably

Shislif (MeLange): so are we like done for tonight?

Lemon (Levi Reed): Unsure

Shislif (MeLange): You guys seen Silo? I'm onthe last episode prolly watch it after this

Carissa (Vee Barlett): we'll probably at least be told if we succeeded or not before wrapping it up - I hope

Carissa (Vee Barlett): no cliffhangers

Lemon (Levi Reed): I never watch things and Carissa REALLY never watches things

Shislif (MeLange): I'm sure there's gonna be a cliffhanger or two or three

Carissa (Vee Barlett): As I said, I prefer dead trees.

Shislif (MeLange): why what's wrong with watching?

Shislif (MeLange): some many Ws

Carissa (Vee Barlett): just doesn't hold my attention at all

Carissa (Vee Barlett): fine if others do, nothing against it, but I just never watch things, I dunno. I have other things I'd prefer to do

Shislif (MeLange): what holds your attention? If it's ok to ask no worries if not

Lemon (Levi Reed): Nothing, it just tends to be a social activity for me and I don't have the people to watch things socially with

Carissa (Vee Barlett): Reading, video games, reading, writing

Carissa (Vee Barlett): Crafty things, gardening

Carissa (Vee Barlett): Just lots of other things I could do that interest me more than TV/movies

MeLange: hmm all awesome things

Shislif (MeLange): ooc

Lemon (Levi Reed): Yeah, I accidentally started selling jewelry online

Shislif (MeLange): hey go Lemon!

Shislif (MeLange): that's awesome

Lemon (Levi Reed): So I've been pretty focused on that

Shislif (MeLange): super cool

Shislif (MeLange): what video games?

Lemon (Levi Reed): Thanks! I'm shipping out my first sales tomorrow, so I'm pretty excited

Shislif (MeLange): whaaaaat?! Congratulations that awesome!

Carissa (Vee Barlett): Splatoon is my current obsession, some BG3, trying some spooky games this month, visual novel types, really most games I'll try

Shislif (MeLange): very nice I've heard of Splatoon but I haven't played it but seems like fun shooter type. BG3 was pretty amazing I was playing it for a while until Starfield came out then I played that. Now that I'me done with Starfield I need to go back to BG3 and finish act 3

Carissa (Vee Barlett): I played a lot of BG3 when it was in early access so I'm having trouble playing Act 1 for the tenth time, lol. But I do love Splatoon. Unique shooter for sure, but very fun. I'm waiting for Starfield to go on sale and for me to have less games to play before I grab that one.

Shislif (MeLange): lol yea my gaming backlist is long for sure

Shislif (MeLange): I didn't play BG3 in early access only when it came out so it was still fresh to me

Carissa (Vee Barlett): I'm playing a few comfy cozy games in the meantime too like Harvest Moon and some business management games, things you can pick up and play for shorter bursts

Shislif (MeLange): ohhhh I just picked up Core Keeper and need to ppl to play with. Do you play Core Keeper?

Carissa (Vee Barlett): Nice. A lot has changed, and I'm sure it'll grab me again soon, but between the games and all the books I'm reading right now, I have to find a balance forit

Lemon (Levi Reed): Yeah, cozy games is my thing

Carissa (Vee Barlett): I don't know that one. What's it about? Maybe I'd play it

TMO (Rothuss Carder): Diablo IV and Firmament for me right now

Shislif (MeLange): there's so much out there!

Carissa (Vee Barlett): Right?? I miss the old days of less choices so you HAD to get into the game you played because you didn't have a choice, lol

Shislif (MeLange): I dunno if Diablo IV is a cozy game though :)

Carissa (Vee Barlett): lol

Shislif (MeLange): Core Keeper is kinda like Valheim meets stardew valley/terraria and some minecraft in there as well, it's surprisingly fun

Carissa (Vee Barlett): I tried Diablo.... 3? I think? 2? It was okay. I don't think I was in the right mood for it, but I'dprobably give it another chance some day

Carissa (Vee Barlett): That at least definitely sounds like a Lemon game

Carissa (Vee Barlett): But I'll give it a look when I have less games, lol

Shislif (MeLange): lemme know if you pick it up it has coop up to 8 players i believe

Lemon (Levi Reed): I feel like I either had it on my list, or thought about having it on my list. But yeah. Too many games

Carissa (Vee Barlett): Filament looks interesting, too...

Lemon (Levi Reed): I've been playing Sun Haven

Carissa (Vee Barlett): Oh. Firmament. Welp.

Shislif (MeLange): yea I'm not super into a whole lot of Hell Stuff so not sure Diablo is for me

Carissa (Vee Barlett): Oooh Myst like. Not sure that's my game, but who knows.

Shislif (MeLange): it is technically early access i believe

Shislif (MeLange): What's Sun Haven?

TMO (Rothuss Carder): I've been live playing both of them on YouTube Carissa. Feel free to go take a look if you want to see Firmament in action. It's not bad.

Carissa (Vee Barlett): Yeah, I loved Torchlight which is like Diablo-lite apparently, but not Hell stuff and it just felt more... fun? I don't know

Lemon (Levi Reed): It's very much like Stardew Valley

Carissa (Vee Barlett): insert thumbs-up emoji here for TMO

Shislif (MeLange): yea I like mroe fun than horror

Shislif (MeLange): oh nice

Carissa (Vee Barlett): Torchlight is good for that. And what horror there is is more cartoon-y

Carissa (Vee Barlett): Or at least the first two. Heard the third wasn't great

Shislif (MeLange): you know how they say "souls-like" in games, they should also say "stardewvalley-like" games

Shislif (MeLange): cause it seems like there are a lot of game like stardew valley out there

Carissa (Vee Barlett): SO MANY

Lemon (Levi Reed): Well, I feel like Stardew Valley is Harvest Moon-like

MeLange: Oh I just yesterday started playing Dome Keeper, it's kinda basic but fun type of game

Shislif (MeLange): ooc

Carissa (Vee Barlett): I grew up on the farming game genre, Harvest Moon Origin, and I always wished there were more, but thirty years later, it feels like suddenly there are too many

Shislif (MeLange): yea I believe Stardew Valley is based on Harvest Moon, likt it's documented

Shislif (MeLange): careful what you wish for :)

Carissa (Vee Barlett): lol right?

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): What is the premise of Stardew? I may play a game like it if I'm correct with what I'm thinking

Shislif (MeLange): you're a guy who gets tired of the city life hustle and bussle

Shislif (MeLange): your uncle or grandad or somebody

Shislif (MeLange): dies!

Vee Barlett: I couldn't get into SDV. It was just... there was so much to do, overwhelming, and not a fan of NPCs BUT people love it because it's farming, or fishing, or mining, or anything you want it to be.

Shislif (MeLange): and leave s you a farm

Shislif (MeLange): yea there's a lot to do, I've never finished it

Shislif (MeLange): but if you don't care about finishing the game it can be fun and relaxing

Lemon (Levi Reed): Yeah, I found it overwhelming the first time I played it, and then left it alone for years... and then I got into it again and got really sucked in

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): Then no, I do not play a game like it, I just thought "Farming" and wa slike, I play a game with farming

Vee Barlett: Apparently you can

Lemon (Levi Reed): 226 hours sucked in

Carissa (Vee Barlett): I think originally it was just a game with farming then he added more things to do

Lemon (Levi Reed): It is a lot of farming

Carissa (Vee Barlett): If you DO want a farming game, I have lots of ideas

Shislif (MeLange): well it's got farming, but also dungeon fighting and relationships with townsfolk and you can marry a bunch of them

Lemon (Levi Reed): But there's a story too

Shislif (MeLange): and quite a lot of layers actually

Carissa (Vee Barlett): If you want more just farming, the Story of Seasons genre is great

Lemon (Levi Reed): Story of Seasons is Harvest Moon remakes

Shislif (MeLange): or we could all play Core Keeper

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): I play a lot of more tame games, simply for the fact my laptop can't handle much else lol

MeLange: tame games like what?

Carissa (Vee Barlett): which is good because more of those games are perfect for that!

Shislif (MeLange): ooc

Lemon (Levi Reed): Ah, yep, core keeper is indeed on my wishlist

Shislif (MeLange): yea i got it on sale for like $10

Shislif (MeLange): it's fun but it seems like a game more fun in coop mode

Shislif (MeLange): but it is early access too

Shislif (MeLange): like valheim

Shislif (MeLange): Valheim is amazing too i love that game if you guys ever pick up that one

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): Stacklands, Colony Survival, Universe Sandbox, Jalopy, and Forts for a few examples, not much going on in those that can run me below 10 fps

Carissa (Vee Barlett): I think it's on my list, but BG3 was my exception to early access. I get weary of playng games early access, especially if not a big studio

Shislif (MeLange): Cool I getchya, I heard of Universe Sandbox and Jalopy

Shislif (MeLange): that one is like a road trip simulator right?

Carissa (Vee Barlett): I think Universe Sandbox is on my wishlist, too, lol

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): Yeah, it's a fun game

Shislif (MeLange): yea I think I have that one my list seemed cool

JtomTMO (Lirtimya): You drive your uncle from Germany to Turkey in like, 1955

Carissa (Vee Barlett): Roots of Pacha is on my list. It's farming, but stone age and seems fun.

Shislif (MeLange): So cool

Vee Barlett: oooh interesting

Shislif (MeLange): stone age?!

Carissa (Vee Barlett): yup

Shislif (MeLange): I'm sure there's also Farming Simulator out there

Carissa (Vee Barlett): I like that it's actually a bit different from other farming sims out there for that fact

Shislif (MeLange): there was like a japanese one where you farm rice or something that was supposed to be good, never played it htough

Carissa (Vee Barlett): OH! Sakura and the Rice of Ruin

Carissa (Vee Barlett): ...I think

Shislif (MeLange): oh yea that one

Shislif (MeLange): yea that's it

Carissa (Vee Barlett): Sakuna! That's it

Carissa (Vee Barlett): I started playing it, but I was having bad vertigo issues at the time and had problems playing it. I've been meaning to go back to it

Shislif (MeLange): oh nice! Not the vertigo obviously, hope you're feeling better

Carissa (Vee Barlett): lol thanks, and yes, much better controlled now

MeLange: cool cool

Shislif (MeLange): ooc

Shislif (MeLange): I should probably abandon MeLange

Shislif (MeLange): if you love em set em free

Carissa (Vee Barlett): yeah it's getting late now

Carissa (Vee Barlett): lol

Shislif: gotta get some dinner in this belly

Lemon (Levi Reed): Yeah, I'm starting to get sleepy

Carissa (Vee Barlett): go get food

Carissa (Vee Barlett): I might hang around for a little longer, but no reason to linger I don't think

Shislif: Thx yall had a grea time tonight
