This story arc is called Complicated Emotions for the many different types of emotions running through my mind.
Story Arc Concept
My idea for this story arc was very emotional for me.
This game had been running for over 27 years, with 18 of them in KloOge, over 750 game sessions. As a platform it had served us well but the time had come to move to something new. Over the summer of 2021 I tested Fantasy Grounds as much as I could, learning what I thought I needed to know before introducing it to the players. Then when the time came to start the move it felt that a bit of "I will learn it when I have to" emotions were coming from the players. I admittedly wanted to keep with the comfortable for as long as I could also. So I decided we all needed a clean break.
I tried to run both platforms simultaneously for about three months to see how I could handle some of the same activities we were used to. Then as the last parts of the For The Love of Mist Era were unfolding I realized that there would be a good in game moment for the change over to happen. I started the new Era in KloOge and planned the second story arc to take place in Pandemonium. Then with other delays it just happened that stretching the first story arc out one more week we could hit a significant milestone for the game and do the change over all at once. One perfect bit of order in the middle of what I knew would be a huge conflagration of chaos.
And so with a lot of emotions on 2021 11 26 I shoved us all over into the chaos of learning a new platform together.
