Gypsy

To be a Gypsy is to live on the road never having permanent roots in one location. Your family is your anchor and the paths you travel are in your blood. While you may not always be trusted, those who do will learn of gypsy loyalty and protection.

Gypsies are all graceful and adept at playing games such as darts and cards. If invited to a gypsy encampment, drinking, dancing, and general merriment can be had. While guests are not necessarily expected to contribute to the night's activities with material goods, it is not uncommon for them to be asked to contribute with storytelling. Travelers of the road often appreciate the stories other travelers of the road carry with them.

Many gypsies, but most notably the wisewoman, are known for their fortune telling abilities. Those who live in The Mist are able to get around its divination limiting powers by using blood magic. Some are also known for their abilities to charm animals, and possibly even communicate with them, as well as hold seances for the departed or those stuck in-between. As is tradition, wisewoman are not to marry, but many will have children before they become wisewoman.

Happiness, freedom, and play are very important to gypsies. It is very rare to find a clan settled in a single location for long, and they tend to avoid big cities. Even great adventurers like Chandler Cowles are of no interests to gypsies after they settle down and stop adventuring. While careful around strangers, once comfortable, they can be very friendly and open, flirtatious even, but perhaps too much so depending on who is asked. They camp under the stars, hunt what they can find, and travel where life takes them.

Family is very important to gypsies, but they consider all of their clan their family, not just those related by blood. Relationships between clans are also generally cherished. Word travels fast between clans. To anger one clan is to anger many, but to befriend one clan is to befriend many.

Caravans can be found throughout the kingdoms, from The Wildlands to Gold Hills, from Rivers Bend to Loosend, and from Drillian to simply passing by them on river or road.

There is a small pantheon for the Gypsies who are worshiped by most families but especially by the wisewomen who lead these groups.
