GM: For Wendy, I ran a different VTT (Virtual Table Top) program called KloOge starting in 2003 and we ran with it until last year, so 18 years of using one program

LemonyLemon (Levi Reed): Klooge was like the first time I tried to play NES worms. There's just no explanation of anything. Someone has to hold your hand to teach it to you. And then they tell you you should "just be friends" because they didn't like having to (figuratively) hold your hand while playing this game on the first date while surrounded by all their friends giving you conflicting advice because it was funny... and Fantasy Grounds is like the first time I got a windows computer where it was like, "Oooh, this is fun, what does this do?"

GM: There are no specialty things for Priests

seyfert (Vee Barlett): WIS is for priests, INT is for mages

seyfert (Vee Barlett): in 2e, it affects spells and spell slots

GM: Wisdom is how Priests cast spells, Inteligence is how many spells a Mage gets, but it also affects how many skills you can learn

wyjyoon (Temperance): Ah, gotcha. So, in the case of a priest, learning new skills vs. being generally healthy / hp beneficial

Master TMO (Rothuss Carder): apparently bards just *gain* 1 to 4 spells at 2nd level. fwiw. No idea if training is needed for that. But DM determines the spells, or randomly.

seyfert (Vee Barlett): so it kind of plays on what type of priest you think you'll be

GM: You have to decide do you want to get 1 bonus Hit Point each level or learn 1 new skill that you know

seyfert (Vee Barlett): do you maybe want to do a bit of combat? health might help, or you can just know more things and help more that way

GM: Yes to TMO on training needed to be able to cast spells

seyfert (Vee Barlett): my first priest was combat oriented and reluctantly healed people, my second priest focused mostly on support

seyfert (Vee Barlett): so you have leeway on how you want to play that character

LemonyLemon (Levi Reed): My priest was also a mage and she was a hot mess and usually did nothing
