Gold Hills - Political & Society

The Gold Hills are dived up into five distinct Shires. Being a practical folk the Hin use simple designations for these.

Stock
Tuckborough
Hardbottle
Michel Delving

Each Shire is nominally under control of the Mayor of that Shire who sits in council with the King. There is also what is sometimes referred to as the Dark Shire or Sixth Shire that is made of the lands around the Hobart Rivulet and the Murk Forest.

Each Mayor's seat is the largest of the towns in that Shire. For the Central Shire that is Michel Delving which is also the Kings Seat. Stock in the South Shire is the second largest town in Gold Hills. For each of these named locations there will be families settled a mile or so from the center of town who consider themselves part of the town.

Almost as important as the town someone is from is the family connection. Hin spend an extraordinary amount of time comparing genealogy notes and most can trace out a lineage through at least two other families. Some of the known branches of various families are listed with each locale.
