Animal Companions & Mounts
There are several ways that players can happen to have animals as part of the group. There are a couple of spells and proficiencies that will help with this process as well.
A character might have a special mount, such a a Paladin's War Horse. Or perhaps a well trained riding horse. Rangers when at higher levels have animal followers.
Characters will also perhaps have a special animal they have trained for reasons of their own. Perhaps as a guard or as a trusted companion.
