Searching for Alexandria - Session Summaries
Session: 20220527s - 20220527c
- After a bit of pre-travel chatter, and some last minute packing, we finally set off on our multi-purpose journey! You can review our many goals at the Searching for Alexandria main page as well as who is going, who is staying behind, and where we expect to visit at this link here.
- That's right, with a covered wagon, pulled by a team of oxen, traveling from Independence, Missouri, to the fertile Willamette Valley of... wait, sorry. I've got my trails mixed up here. And yes, you can relive the glory of that iconic 2,000 mile journey, legally, at that link. Oh nostagia!
- So we go through... various important places, but there was some repeat text in chat confusing me, so somehow, we briefly end up in Jistille Estates, meet Medero, and are given a very brief history lesson regarding the Queen, Branwyn, and Ilero. That lesson then involves into one about Regor the Mad, Red Cloak, and Jennevive.
- But I write summaries, not histories, so you can ask someone else to give you the long and short of it if you still want more information. Will some of this be relevant later? Maybe, but maybe not. So moving on!
- Oh, and Regor, through Medero, hands us a small locked chest and tells us to ask for Sharon the Brassy when we reach the city. I'm guessing Loosend? We'll find out, I'm sure.
- We continue on towards Redfern Lake with warnings of trolls along Moss Road which, of course, means we're gonna run into trolls, duh.
- And this is when we're reminded that only half (or less?) of the current party has sharp-eyes to spot the trolls, and only two are technically frontline fighters. At least it's just trolls?
- Well yes and no. I mean, we don't get ambushed thanks to Licornah and Bixi. Indigo easily kills one, Talwin nearly kills another before Licornah finishes it off, Howard gets in some magic missiles and then... one runs away with Bixi.
- Okay, okay it attempts to run away with Bixi. There is a brief tug-a-war between the troll and Raelynn, before the troll wins and tries to dash off. In return, Raelynn blinds it, Indigo nearly kills it, Bixi stabs it with a steely knife (but just can't kill the beast) until Thistle lands that final blow.
- We behead and burn, and go on our merry way. Our we hope to go on our merry way. Find out Friday?
- Note to self: maybe look into healing before we head out...
Quotes of the Night
BOB and you see the three trolls, two up front with the one sneaking up behind
BOB Those two trolls out front are over 600 feet away right now
Zayden: Some say the best way to deal with trolls is to ignore them, not play their game...
Michael (Talwin): Well, previously, I could select all targets in the top right. It would automatically select the thing right next to me and I could roll in chat. But, now it's targeting EVERYTHING, which never used to happen. It's nota big deal. Also yes, I love this sword LOL
Reven / Lipthink (giant sword): Aww, I love you too, buddy
Lisa (Howard Plum): and the one hit wonder has left for the night - that is a compliment when you are talking about a fighter, right :D
Session: 20220603s - 20220603c
- So those dead trolls from last session? Yeah, they killed some rich mage or something. With loot tables now working, we found 3,000 gp and a scroll of protection from magic. Nice!
- We also do some healing and discussion on hobbies versus lifestyles.
- We get back on the road because, uh, we still have a destination to reach tonight aka Old Man Miller's place. Just who is Old Man Miller, anyways?
- But seriously, some of the party is asking that because most of them haven't ever met him and/or weren't hear in previous sessions when we've met Old Man Miller. I don't have the time or patience to link all those old chats, but Indigo informs everyone that Old Man Miller is a man who bought the place and renamed himself to Miller.
- Will it be the same Miller when we get there? Who knows. Is he as nice as Gerry and is this place haunted? Er, depends and kind of. Will Penny be there, and will Bob remember this time it's Penny not Jenny? We'll find out!
- There is also chatter about obsessions with tulips, becoming a sword master, and if pouring a venom potion in a mimic house is poison or venom and if Talwin ate the house (no, but he was eaten by a house). Oh, also reminders that is it winter and objectively "cold" to some people.
- Also, yeah, the sword that supposedly isn't evil? It's delighted by the thought of Bixi perhaps being bait for monsters so it can kill said monsters. But don't worry, not evil at all.
- After a really bad encounter roll (go high, not low this time!), we hear screaming and then some hobgoblins attempt to ambush us to eat us and steal from us.
- Attempt. I mean, they're far away so we have time to prepare. While trying to scare them away with wolves backfires as they think it is their wolves, and the manticore illusion doesn't quite get close enough to maybe scare them, they are easy to dispatch. I mean, if you're a fighter or a thief with a lucky hit. If you're a priest or a mage? Not so much. If you're an elf and therefore a target? Maybe even less so.
- Also a note here that the extension to give flavor to the enemies is fun. We killed such hobgoblins such as the one wearing colorful chaps, a pleasantly sleek one, and one with a miniscule knee that Indigo tried to knock out, but couldn't see it so killed him by hitting his shin, instead.
- Although not as rich as trolls, the hobgoblins were carrying some 90 gp and 216 cp on them for some reason so sure, we'll take it!
- By now it's night, and thought we rolled super high this time, we arrive at the inn where...
- ....you can check the story/chat or you can just find out Friday!
Quotes of the Night
Lisa (Indigo): dashing through the snow on a two horse covered wagon ...
BOB over the trolls we go, laughing all the way
Talwin: Whoa whoa whoa. I was eaten by a house. There is no stranger thing Bixi
Talwin: And then I made it poisonous
Bixi Fizzlebang: Poisonous or venomous?
Talwin: Whatever
Zayden: You made a house poisonous?
Raelynn: You ate the house?
Bixi Fizzlebang: Or if you eat the house, you get poisoned?
Talwin: It was a mimic that got some weird strain of Big Effing Monster. Then it ate me. Then to kill it I dumped what I thought was poison. Instead, it turned it venomous.
Zayden: I assumed if you enter the house you get poisoned
Bixi Fizzlebang: I've heard children's stories of houses made of sweets, was it like that?
Zayden: who would eat a house?
Talwin: I DID NOT EAT THE HOUSE
BOB I need Sharif to roll a d20 for an encounter check
BOB as he is the new person and easy to blame/praise for bad/good rolls
Lisa (Indigo): roll high
Zayden: [d20 = 1]
BOB Amazing
Lisa (Indigo): that was not high
Session: 20220610s - 20220610c
- We arrive at Old Man Miller's Inn at Redfern Lake. It looks different. As in it's a completely new building. Neither Thistle nor Howard, who were not off in Elflands for six years, know why.
- Howard guards the wagon until we can secure it, Youtargim finally gets out of the doorway and goes in, and there we're greeting by Penny, not Jenny. Hooray!
- ...although somewhere along the way she did lose her fantabulous southern accent. So sad. Perhaps it's too much to ask her to keep it. It ain't like all y'all grew up in them backwoods of good ole' Texas, ya know? At least the ole gal's gotta barnyard full of all 'em cheesemaking critters! Ain't long now 'til she'll have the best damn ranch in area!
- Anyways, there's multiple conversations to follow which I'm not feeling like trying to get it all chronical so let's see what we can do here.
- Penny mentions some celebration of the Fortunate by a swindler priestess. Youtargim attempts to out swindle the swindler. Unsure if he succeeded.
- Thistle is told not to talk much which confuses her as she's then told to go talk to the priestess. Yeah, maybe she'll just drink and forget y'all, instead.
- Talwin bumps into a chess players, helps him, and upsets the opponent. It is what it is.
- There's some unpleasant stereotypical remarks from Old Man Miller about Bixi and gnomes. Boomers, what can I say.
- Someone named Joe also works at the inn. He's not important, though.
- About three years ago, the hobgoblins stormed through and fought some pigmen creatures. Bullywugs swarmed after that. That's how the inn got destroyed. Again. And half the town.
- Territorial fighting from the monsters in the area, maybe? We've definitely, er, upset the balance of the area the past few years.
- Anyways, smaller inn was built since, you know, it's an independent territory without the nice largess Branwyn has to help build up Dragon Fen. Each to their own! Also probably why Jistille didn't send anyone to help because, once more, the cost of independence.
- Also some area gossip and how someone named Ulter is doing the blacksmithing? Or something.
- So to the main point of tonight. Bixi finds out the priestess claims to be a Priestess of Carolina who is building a church nearby. She hates lazy people, but she loves being lazy herself and ridding everyone of their coin by claiming every little gain needs celebrating, celebrating needs coin, and as the priestess's best craft is mending souls and working a crowd, especially a drunk one, she should be paid for it by then. Or something. As I said, swindler.
- So what do we do? Anything? Up to us, but Redfern Lake isn't part of Dragon Fen. Miller doesn't seem too upset by her presence, especially as she has coin, so ...we do nothing.
- We get to Billstone, buy some things, go past Medipop Palace, talk the guards out of any tariffs for goods we're transporting, and end the night with an encounter.
- That'll happen on first watch. See you then!
Quotes of the Night
Michael (Talwin): (I think we are on the fastest way to insult an NPC, and I choked out a peasant)
Carissa (Thistle): (read that as pheasant first and was concerned)
TMO: (choking out a peasant is okay, but not a pheasant??)
TMO: (I question your priorities)
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Bixi casts "question barrage"
Michael (Talwin): It's Super Effective!
Indigo: Seen Brer Necholas lately?
BOB (Miller) No thankfully I have not had any Brothers Round here lately
TMO: *busts through the wall like the Kool-Aid Man*
Session: 20220617s - 20220617c
- It's time for the first watches in... a very long time. A refresher for those who therefore have never done watches before: roll high and pray.
- Quick counter note that my memory says there was one time that was flipped. Maybe when traveling through orc lands? Hmm, not sure, may look one day, but majority of the time, I'd say high is what you want provided you want to avoid encounters.
- Are you in a semi-civilized area? And you hate encounters? Talk it out. Good roleplay counts as an encounter most of the time. But if you're in full wilderness? Less likely to work. Never hurts to try, does it? I mean unless you really need to be quiet...
- And are you a spellcaster? Have you used any spells today? If so, you need full sleep (two watches straight) so either take first or third. There is a slight bit of strategy to consider sometimes which is better, but we're not there yet. That said, if you haven't casted today, feel free to take whatever watch you want as you have no spells to fill back up.
- This is also a good time to get to know other characters. Some backstories you know, some you don't know, some are on the site if you dig for it, some are not until you talk to them. So pick your watch carefully! So that I don't have to pick it for you.
- All that said, we came into the night knowing there would be an encounter of some sort. As Michael rolled it, he gets the honor of being on first watch! Joining him are Raelynn and Licornah.
- They discuss whether or not Talwin's sword is evil (and his conversation with the sword is not convincing me otherwise), whether or not Talwin is simply mad, and just start noticing the weird barricades and skulls when...
- ...a drummer interrupts them? Yeah. There's two ways to handle danger on the road: be so loud you aren't surprised by anything or surprise anything, or shut the hell up.
- Raelynn runs off with Talwin to try to stop them from waking the camp, and fail to reach them in time, but still head them off only to find out they're the spotters for Voldomer's Fabulous Circus!
- ... the rest of whom are supposedly behind these two who call themselves Fredrick the Farmer and Bongo the Drummer. After some chit-chat, they are persuaded to sleep nearby and stop the drumming.
- Oh, and those skulls? Yeah, those are human skulls. Talwin isn't a fan AT ALL, but Raelynn and Licornah convince him that it's not worth moving camp. And so there they sit, mysteriously, next to our sleeping spots.
- Nothing else of interest so we'll do a quick sum of Second Watch (Indigo, Youtargim, and Zayden) as well as Third Watch (Bixi, Howard, Thistle).
- Second watch we find out Youtargim was gifted a folded up paper boat that becomes a real boat, Zayden reminisces on the passage of time, Indigo mentions his previous love, some truth or dare, and some debatable conjecture about what's going on with the two circus men camping nearby.
- Third watch is Bixi learning that Thistle is a human who has been around elves maybe too long, Howard getting his fortune (mis)read, talking about talking to spirits, and finding out the two circus men are not where Thistle was told they were.
- Morning arrives! But seriously, where are the two circus men? Did they disappear? Are they ghosts? Is it somehow related to these skulls nearby?
- We don't know, but the speculation takes us through the morning and then some. Will we ever find out? Maybe, maybe not. Perhaps if we ask around about the circus? We have a name and names to go by.
- Oh and we find out that Bixi can cook. Hooray!
- ...all of which is interrupted by Youtargim being gored by a wild boar. Wait, is it wild??
- After a bit of calming, talking, and feeding, we find out that no, not quite. I mean it does have a saddle for a reason, right? Hence the reason Bixi talks to it in Gnomish as she points out that gnomes ride pigs as steeds sometimes. And with some good spell work, Bixi will now, too! Welcome to the party, Knotty. Be prepared for puns.
- We leave it there for the night. What else will the day bring us? We'll find out Friday.
Quotes of the Night
Raelynn: And Talwin, is that sword still talking to you?
Talwin: Indeed he does
Talwin: We have fine conversations
Raelynn: Is it still... evil?
Raelynn: Because I'm still prettttty sure it's evil.
Reven / Lipthink (giant sword) to Talwin: I AM NOT EVIL
Lisa (Indigo): why is Indigo waking up?
Lisa (Indigo): He likes a parade and all but not during sleep time
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): The sword really likes talwin. They are total besties.
Michael (Talwin): (It is super fun to talk to the sword. I gott admit)
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): And Bixi is so optimistic and cautious, it's kind of fun to be a bloodthirsty jerk
Indigo: Howard, get up!
Howard Plum: I'm up!
Howard Plum: Anything to know?
Indigo: Stay away from the pile of skulls and there are two circus people sleeping on the other side of the road
Howard Plum: Skulls?
Howard Plum: Goodnight!
Howard Plum: goes back to sleep
Zayden: Do we have time for some yoga exercises? Get a good stretch on before we move out?
Youtargim: Stretching is good
Talwin: A look of absolute longsuffering crosses darkly over Talwins face.
Indigo: Walking next to the wagon all day isn't stretching enough?
Talwin: Exchanges glances with Indigo, as if pleading desperately for the sweet relief of death
BOB First before that encounter you are deciding where to sleep the night, are you camping on the side of the road? or looking for a farm?
TMO: checks AirDnD
Session: 20220624s - 20220624c
- With boar befriended, we continue our walk down the road. No encounter roll needed because, uh, it's been a day to put it as simple as possible.
- Some chitter chatter about death, souls, freeing souls from swords, pirates with parrots, pirates eating rats, Knotty the boar running away from the circus (who else wears a top hat?), training animals, training people, and then it hits.
- The smell. The gods awful smell of all smells that... really only bothers Raelynn? That sounds about right. But yes, the smell.
- We are greeted by the grotesque, bloated corpse of something vaguely elephant-ish being eating by vultures, centipedes, and butt beetles (also known as bombardier beetles). Why don't we take out this seemingly random frustration and anger many of us have unrelated to anything at all on these two timing scavengers?
- Vultures try to carry off Indigo and force Youtargim to wear an eyepatch to add to the pirate stereotype but are mostly all killed off by Howard.
- Some of the bombardier beetles decide to check things out, shoot fire at Indigo and Youtargim, stun and deafen them with the sound, and ...actually almost kill them? Seriously?
- Thistle and Howard manage to pull Indigo and Youtargim to safety and bind their wounds. Talwin, freed from dragging Bixi along to protect her from the vultures, gets his revenge on those beetles. Licornah helps as well.
- ...and then he is also stunned and deafened so it's up to... Howard and Thistle to save the day?? Uh, okay. Well. They do! Hurray! Beetles are dead!
- With some cure light wounds, we get Indigo and Youtargim back up and walking, we drag Talwin back to the wagon until he can shake it off, and then we have to decide what to do next. There are still quite a few insects feeding on that corpse, the horses don't want to walk by, and we need to keep going that way...
- Yeah, we're just done. With a bit of rain and a hint of magic, Raelynn absolutely decimates every last one of them and then some with lightning. I imagine it went something like this, yeah? Yeah.
- With some crispy bug pieces, the smell of cooked rotting meat in the air, and a few in awe of Raelynn's power (she's definitely not a one trick pony, nope), we continue on down the road.
- There's some hint about the circus. Is that Bob saying we'll all still die and join a ghost circus? Or is the circus actually full of living individuals? Will Knotty meet his adversary?
- You know the drill: log on and find out. See you Friday.
- Also side note: we did find out that Youtargim does, indeed, wear a turban. Do we need to see what horrors are under it...?
Quotes of the Night
BOB You are moving along after finding the board and befriending him
Lisa: borg
Lisa: boar
Lisa: bore
BOB I did check their morale too once you killed the previous ones, but with Talwin being stunned they did not need a check
Lisa (Howard Plum): yes they claim victory as their enemies are stunned into submission - we get it
BOB Yes to Michael approving movements for that reason, you moved 120 bixi can only move 60
BOB so unless you are dragging her on the ground,..... grins
Lisa (Indigo): she tied to him so she is getting dragged along?
TMO: *bounce* *scrape* *draaaaaggggg*
TMO: Quote from Guide book: "Thinking of them as the planar version of yuppies is pretty accurate."
Attack [2] ->[ATTACK (M)] [at Beetle Giant, Bombardier (Impulsive footwork)] [Hit-AC: 11 vs. 4 ] [AC: 11 ] [MISS]
Attack [1] ->[ATTACK (M)] [at Beetle Giant, Bombardier 2] [Hit-AC: 12 vs. 4 ] [AC: 12 ] [MISS-AUTOMATIC]
Michael (Talwin): ???
TMO: The Yuppies Cursed Him
TMO: Evoking Yuppies always brings down a curse. I forgot, I'm sorry.
Michael (Talwin): (WTH is a Bombadier Beetle?)
Thistle: IT SHOOTS ACID OUT OF ITS BUTT.
TMO: Thistle with the straight facts
Thistle: waves hands
Thistle: COME AT ME BUTT BEETLES!
Thistle: Come on. Let's just toss them the dead bird and move on!
Howard Plum: I agree. let us leave this foul place
BOB Fowl
Session: 20220701s - 20220701c
- Lots of talking this session. A lot. So we'll make this a short summary for many reasons.
- First thing first is the confusion that is Youtargim. Is he creepy, dumb, ignorant, all three, or something else? Bixi decides to find out!
- Is he aggressively flirting? No, he's aggressively ...appreciating? Which is somehow a different thing? All of this, if you missed it, comes from an earlier conversation. And speaking of earlier conversations, all of this has left Raelynn incredibly confused by Youtargim's intentions.
- Yes, yes he claims his intention is to be a valuable member of the group as requested by Branwyn (and everyone else, Yout), but that doesn't clear it up enough for her. But that'll be a conversation for later.
- Oh and we also get some more information from Knotty and there's some discussion about potential future problems when you travel with (wild) animals.
- The circus is (almost) in town! And yes, it is led by a man in a top hat. Is he evil?
- He's certainly questionable. The other animals don't seem as upset by his treatment, although Bongo the Drummer is acting weird and Fredrick is nowhere to be found, but is he evil?
- Yes, Reven/Lipthink the sword definitely still is.
- Anyways, yada yada yada. Lots of talking, attempts at persuasion, inconsistencies in stories, animals that don't seem as unhappy as Knotty, threats, and all that fun finally leading to us buying Knotty from top hat man. Oh, and his name is Clever the Interesting because coming up with a stage name for some people is VERY hard.
- Note the players have not caught on to the naming conventions of mages yet
- Or has BOB not caught on that the players have caught on to the naming conventions of mages...
- Deal done, we continue on our way, but will we stay to watch the circus when they arrive in town not long after us??
- Also can I point out that six years has made Howard quite bold? Or is it impatient? Man, I can't wait to read six years worth of stories about it. It'll compliment the six years worth of stories about children who may or may not be resentful about their parents abandoning them! ;)
- Follow-up that the town we are heading to I did NOT name. It apparently wasn't a guessing game, but a naming game, and like Wheel of Fortune, the only part I played was picking the wrong letter.
- Up the road, an in a weird no man's land (similar to Red Fern) is a toll booth. Of sorts.
- We could not pay, and we wouldn't be killed, it'd just take awhile to get through or we pay the actually kind of reasonable toll(?) and just ...get through quickly and without wagon damage.
- Some tortle guy waved the flag while the one overlooking the operation is an old frenemy of Talwin's from back in the day. Also not long ago, too, as apparently he threatened him in the past. Feel free to go ready story chat for some backstory.
- So we arrive at THAT town next session. Will we want to see the circus? Where will Bixi keep her boar? Can we hopefully stay at an inn and skip watches? Guess we'll find out soon.
Quotes of the Night
Bixi Fizzlebang: Then you are appreciating badly because it comes across as aggressive flirting
Indigo: I don't think Youtargim is nicer to Raelynn than he is to me. He appreciates me too
Bixi Fizzlebang: Well I thought he was flirting with you, too.
Shislif (Zayden): Well there's no easy answers here
Lisa: without a fireball yes fewer options
Bixi Fizzlebang: I don't know... I mean I love Knotty, but he's not the brighest star in the sky
BOB She says of the boar she has known for 8 hours
Bixi Fizzlebang: So you're a... really into history huh
Bixi Fizzlebang: [SKILL] Botany [MOD:INT] (vs. Target 15) [SUCCESS by 4] [d20 = 11]
Talwin: That the mercenary companies put on a few small battles, maybe even a big one once every generation, but in the end, a mercenary guild rakes in the money
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Desperately searching for something more interesting than whatever talwin is talking about
BOB SO grass?
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Sure
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): I'll take it
Youtargim: Bixi, did you find any truffles for your Boar?
Bixi Fizzlebang: No, we've kept on the road so far. Not trying to attract any of those hobgoblins
Bixi Fizzlebang: That is, however, the most considerate thing you've said so far. Thanks for that.
Youtargim: Glad to help Bixi
Bixi Fizzlebang: I mean, it didn't help. It's just nice conversation.
Session: 20220708s - 20220708c
- The group talks a bit about THAT town we're coming up to which has two church, three inns, and two blacksmiths at the crossroads of Hill Road and Dry Road.
- Some talk about flyers, the circus, Knotty, traveling by airship (rest in peace, QuiFon), and all that.
- Once we arrive, Zayden and Bixi strike up a deal with Innkeeper Brograth to do a show for half the price of the rooms. Zayden plays a memorable ballade and Bixi finds out that jokes about royalty aren't as successful - not horrible, but not great - with the crowd.
- And no, Bixi, this town is not up to ADA standards nor do emotional support swine fall under ADA accomodations, anyways. Knotty gets to sleep outside.
- We also go from everyone knowing Indigo, to some thinking Indigo is ...named after himself? And also that Indigo is both old and not old? Depending who you ask?
- Oh also probably the biggest thing to note is the mention of us taking rooms previously booked for a merchant caravan that didn't show up. The name they're booked under? Red Cloak.
- It is here that I will helpfully point you all to the search feature of the site and remind you it's best to put quotes around two words to search for them together. The delay of the large caravan from the north is, in comparison, less important but still important.
- As we wait for the circus show that evening, the day is filled with shopping, shine visits, and fishing.
- The circus is in town! Will it be good? Long? Exciting? Interesting? At least the last one, yes.
- Bixi sees nothing that upsets her too much about the animals, we almost get charged until Clever the Interesting finds us and gives us front row seats, and he asks if we're still happy with the boar we haven't had that long so yes? For now?
- Circus involves a woman dancing with a snake, a lion and a strongman, a firebreather, a dancing bear, giant clowns, and other circus-y things.
- Are we satisfied? For now. At least we made friends? Maybe? Or at least business partners willing to help each other out now if we need? Something like that.
- With that, we wrap up the night for whatever awaits us next week.
Quotes of the Night
Thistle: (test)
Lorie (Licornah): (I see your test and raise you a quiz?)
Thistle: Some fire, more fire, maybe with a hint of fire?
Indigo: We could set Thistle on fire. Yes!
Indigo: As long as it doesn't set the taven on fire at the same time
Thistle: I do enjoy that.
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Thistle has a kinky side
Bixi Fizzlebang: I'm not funny
Indigo: Sometimes you're funny
Bixi Fizzlebang: frowns and stomps her tiny feet
Indigo: See!
Thistle: I mean... that's funny.
Indigo: That was funny
Thistle: You're so small how can you NOT be funny?
Session: 20220715s - 20220715c
- Healed up for the night, in the future, Indigo will now have to decide between looking handsome and elegant (healed) or handsome and dangerous (severely wounded). Decisions, decisions.
- Next day we run into a farmer who mentions the disappearance of the Elsiver Family as well as Priestess Polina who went searching for them.
- We decide to take a look around and find (and kill) four rust monsters, but of the family and priestess we find no signs. Were they the monsters? Or were they made of metal and therefore died? We don't know.
- Will we find out Friday? Not sure, but guess we'll find out.
Quotes of the Night
Youtargim: What do your fingers look like Bixi?
Youtargim: you are always digging around in the ground
Bixi Fizzlebang: hides fingers behind her back
Bixi Fizzlebang: None of your concern
Youtargim: Maybe Rae has a spell for that too
Raelynn: It's okay, Bixi. I know what color we can paint them at the party.
Youtargim: OH really!!! Bixi that would be amazing
Youtargim: I mean the wind not the colors
Youtargim [A Comm]: (says something that looks like a bunch of numbers in FG)
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Ew, should have known Yout talks in Math
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): No offense TMO
Thistle: waiting for someone with less metal to open the door
Carissa (Thistle): more mettle?
Thistle: waiting for someone with less metal and more mettle to open the door.
Session: 20220722s - 20220722c
- So we start the night without a map EVEN THOUGH there technically should have been a single map as per this post, but memory, man (Cough, Leg One Map was only map shared)(Response). Sometimes it's hard to remember things. Anyways, point being, mostly just some RP tonight during watches which is always good for character development and an encounter later.
- Like did you know Howard likes butterflies? And some (but not all) think Howard is interesting? Take it away, Bixi and Howard.
- Howard requests killer ladybugs next combat, he does like butterflies but cannot cantrip them like Branwyn does, and he can kill rust monsters so there's that! Apparently he can also whistle for messages but has yet to meet someone else who can so mostly whistles to himself (but not always well).
- Speaking of failed skills, Bixi cannot cook. I mean sometimes she can, but sometimes you also roll a massive failure with the new cooking mod and nearly kill everyone with your cooking. Thankfully (?) Bixi and Howard are too polite to tell the other their attempts to do their talents failed horribly and instead encourage the other. What a lovely, supportive friendship!
- Oh, and Howard is from Dryads Lair if you don't know that yet - our final destination. I'm sure you're right Howard. We'll definitely be tourists there, nothing to do but wait, while Talwin does his sword mastery all on his own. Yep. Maybe we'll attend a party...?
- Also yes, we're plagued with sleep talkers tonight. More on that later.
- Second watch brings us Indigo and Zayden. Thistle decides to be lazy and sleep through it.
- They find the remains of dinner nearly untouched. For a reason. Thankfully pigs will eat literally anything (except plastic) and therefore Knotty doesn't mind finishing off the questionable cooking.
- So about that earlier conversation. Any secret crush, Zayden? Well Bixi is compelling and strange. Hard agree there, man! That dinner of ham and beets is great evidence for that.
- Some talk about music, nature, and ships. The talk is less eventful, but that's because they were too busy feeding Knotty that dinner and wondering if he'd die from it. So far? Still alive.
- One last note that Indigo, previously immune to nicknames, has now, finally, gained a nickname from Zayden: Indy.
- The start of third watch begins with the end of second and some sleep talking from Youtargim. About what?
- No, not riding naked on a horse as Zayden said, but something about returning, someone falling off a ship, and being told to grab the girl. Given that Youtargim does not have fortune telling, this definitely isn't a warning in the future but likely a mix of one of his many memories of the past. He sailed plenty so I'm sure he saw plenty of girls fall of ships. Yep!
- Is listening and remembering the same thing? Perhaps Youtargim was too busy being star-struck by Aretha Franklin to remember that Raelynn told him she couldn't swim? Anyways, again, no she cannot because she decided learning to talk to ghosts was more important. Was this a mistake on the player's part? If we don't get to do some seances then yes, yes it was. So let's not make the player regret her training choices, okay? Because she already is and we haven't hit the water yet.
- Anyways, Youtargim tries and failed to teach Raelynn the basic of swimming. Not warning someone you're going to jab them in the stomach certain isn't going to help. At least she knows now about the shock of things?
- Raelynn mentions how she's only going on the trip to visit her (human) mother. Why write a letter when your friends were going to town anyways? As for her relationship with her relatives? That's a different story. Side note, too, that she also studied in Loosend so maybe she'll be helpful somehow somewhere.
- Raelynn finally has a chance to ask Youtargim his intentions with her because she hasn't gotten the best impression from him. They speak of cultural differences, how he might not be like the jerks of her past, and finally seem to be on better footing and understanding. Progress! Oh, and of course how she does hope to find love so she's fine with flirting and courtship even if she only knows the human way about it.
- Also, yeah, he is worried that Bixi cannot take care of herself. That makes two of us, Yout.
- Youtargim makes us breakfast. Rust monster steaks, anyone? We do not die from eating it.
- As we leave the farmhouse, somewhat fuller, but still without knowledge of what happened to the farmer and priestess, nicknames are discussed, Raelynn's heritage, Howard is clearly catching a cold with all his coughing, and we arrive at some church near the exit to the Mist.
- Sister Uthe, not to be confused with actual Uthe, tends to this church and those who enter with severe Mist Sickness. Inside are two individuals in particular we're interested. Well, maybe three, but we ignore the halfling completely. They're probably a nobody anyways... right?
- And here's were we give an official welcome back to Marco!
- The elf inside who doesn't speak Elvish? Speaks A Comm which is, uh, you know, I'm not sure. What does the A stand for besides "(Atrocious) Arithmetics" per Lemon's observations? Is it Arithmetic Common? Because it is now (and all of this makes sense when you see how it shows up in Fantasy Grounds).
- I digress. There is an elf inside whom Youtargim can speak with (he has a use!) only to discover the elf can also sort of speak W Comm. And yes, I know that W stands for Western, thank you very much. She is Mist Sick and came this way to... study? The Mist, sure, but then decides to get out of the Mist and travel with us for a bit so there's that.
- We find out Akilah bint-Fahkr al Hiyal, or Akilah for short (until Zayden gives her a nickname), writes things including maybe poetry, has opinions, is a barber, and heals through... haircuts? Or something. Maybe once she's less sick we'll find out.
- This is also where Youtargim finds out Raelynn has a weakness for poetry. And Bixi writes some wonderful contempory poetry that would likely make a good song one day.
- There is also some talk about Thistle growing up in Ghostwood, but she definitely doesn't want Youtargim to think she's not a real gypsy who never really traveled so... details details he doesn't need to know. She's already having an identity crisis. No need to add to it.
- Now for the very interesting other sick individual: Red Cloak.
- The fun here is I know about him, but I didn't play when there was interaction with him. His relationship with Indigo is... fascinating. I mean the whole sold into slavery thing is bad, but to the confusion of Thistle, it doesn't leave Indigo to wanting to shank Red Cloak who admittedly looks miserable and pathetic sick on the bed. So anyways, yes, he's back in town. Maybe he'll go visit the circus.
- Side notes here that Red Cloak is married to Jennevive (a fun story how that happened), is the twin of Toybin who is the consort to the Queen, and is not allowed to kill Indigo. Yes, he's also a necromancer and a very bad man.
- So we leave it here for the night with Howard getting over his cold and whistling us on our merry way.
Quotes of the Night
Youtargim: Howard is an interesting person
Indigo: No he isn't
Indigo: laughing
Howard Plum: But I think we shall have a good time as tourists in the city
Bixi Fizzlebang: I'm looking forward to it now!
Howard Plum: Good!
Howard Plum: Talwin will busy sword fighting and we won't have anything to do other than sightsee
Howard Plum unaware that there will likely be a quest involved
Indigo: What is this??
Indigo: It's awful
Zayden: Let me try some can't be that bad
Zayden takes a bite
Indigo: I'm gonna starve if Bixi's our ship cook
Zayden: Good Lord!
Zayden: I don't think that is meant for the living
Zayden: Honestly people have been charged with war crimes for lesser offenses
Zayden: oh we didn't have any beets or ham, just a bite of that unearthly dinner
Bixi Fizzlebang: beams
Bixi Fizzlebang: What a nice compliment!
Zayden: Hey we all have to start somewhere Bixi, it's all downhill from here
Raelynn: Sorry just a cough.
Raelynn: I think Howard's cold is contagious.
Lisa (Howard Plum): it is contagious!
Lisa (Howard Plum): back to typing faster than me :)
Bixi Fizzlebang: Or is it more like "hey, I just met you, and this might sound crazy, but here's my location, so write to me maybe"
Youtargim: I am not worried about you taking care of your self
glances over at Bixi
Youtargim: like others
Lemon (Bixi FizzlebangA): ouch
Session: 20220729s - 20220729c
- Out of The Mist, but still a bit of a ways to Loosend, we look for a place for the night. Although less adverse to sleeping outside, some still prefer a nice, comfy bed (who doesn't?) which is overheard by Clint.
- Yes, his father named him Slow because his father is a jerk, but we're calling him Clint because it's his chosen name and we're respectful and considerate adventurers.
- It's still a bit of a …reclusive town, though, with some values that may align better with times past, but that's okay. As long as we can sleep, we're fine with it: Admiral Indigo with the Mayor, Zayden the Troublemaker (shhh, definitely wasn't supposed to be Howard) with Deloris, the women at the church, and the men in the barn. Good thing everyone is definitely, 100% super straight! Yep!
- Speaking of breeding, Knotty is a boar not a barrow meaning if he wants to breed, he's got all the right equipment for it. That said, some animal husbandry advice: putting a boar in with the sows isn't actually very good for breeding. You know what usually happens? The sows beat the boar up. If you really want to have a successful breeding program, you need to either bring the sows to the boar or have a neutral territory for them to get together.
- Follow-up note: boars are not good eats. If you want bacon, he's going to be desperation bacon. You'd have been better off with a barrow, gilt, or sow.
- Anyways, we somehow are talked into putting on a show again? Zayden is, er, busy at the moment so it's up to everyone else (also minus Indigo)! A fancy light, whistling, and illusion show by Howard, Bixi, and Youtargim. A... Magic Mike show by Talwin? And some tumbling and acting by Thistle and Craigh. Everyone is happy, we sleep well, we move on the next morning.
- We're stopped on the road by some dude who wants our help retrieving owlbear eggs? He makes it sound legit, because it certainly really does not, but, uh, how are we going to do this without risking ourselves...?
- We're not. Sure it'd give us money for a ship, and sure we could get an owlbear egg out of it, but we already budgeted for the ship, and the only two characters who could likely successfully work with owlbears are back at Dragon Fen. And we are not close to Dragon Fen anymore.
- Now if I hadn't had to step away, I would have asked if this was a tame verses domestication definition. Those are two very different things. I wouldn't expect to domesticate, but taming is a different story, especially straight from the egg.
- Note: rushing to write this before I need to leave so I'm not sure if we would have possibly been given an egg in return or if we were just giving back the eggs and getting money, instead. I'll check later.
- Second note: Okay reading things I missed, we probably could have had a baby owlbear and now I'm sad. Not quite sure how that'd go on the ship, but it's not like they grow quick, right? And, of course, ideas of solving it come along like... why didn't we induce vomiting? Multiple wards? Distract and steal? But, it is a group decision, and group decided it wasn't worth the risk for the ideas we came up with at the time. And to clarify, I'm just sad about missing getting an owlbear egg. And us having to say we couldn't do anything, but it was probably the best decision at the time. That's what I'm gonna keep telling myself.
- So moving along, we come upon our last encounter for the night: a couple of centaurs.
- Are they just crude, hormonal teenagers? It's certainly the vibe Raelynn is getting from them, but Talwin does not care. He does not like bullies, he does not like dirt being kicked on him, and he does not like green eggs and ham, Sam-I-Am. Also, he is enthralled by an incredibly evil sword. Or they're in a love-love relationship which is like being enthralled, right?
- Bixi scares one centaur away while the second one decides we're not worth this and the anger issues. He trots away after his friend towards Loosend. There is debate about being mad, killing children, and all that fun stuff, but we make up and eat cheese.
- Which brings up to the end of the night and within sight of Loosend.
- Will Talwin take Craigh up on his offer of underground bare-knuckle matches? And how does Craigh know about it? Will we all get drunk at the bar? Will we find our ship and carry on our wayward son? Stay tuned and find out.
- Oh, and don't forget to check Player Communication!
Quotes of the Night
Clint : Your parents called you knotty? looking at Bixi, I guess they did not like you either huh
Indigo: Would you even let Knotty do a show Bixi?
Akilah bint-Fahkr al Hiyal: You perform naughty shows? Who have I grouped up with exactly?
Old Woman : Like that story of the piper who lured all the young women away in the middle of the night with his... flute
TMO (Craigh): please tell me this conversation is happening in Penissa
Howard Plum: Very pretty ladybug Bixi!
Reven / Lipthink (giant sword): Thanks Howard, that one was especially for you!
Michael (Talwin): Wow. Reven did a complete 180!
Talwin: Bandits, Circuses, Iditos, Centaurs! When does it fucking end Indigo!
Indigo: Never?
Lanek: you, uh, ever think about retirement?
Lanek: cuz movin around in this world involves a lot of assholes
Raelynn: Talwin, for once, stop letting your sword think for you. If you slaughter him for being a prick, you're no better.
Reven / Lipthink (giant sword) to Talwin: DON'T LISTEN TO THAT FLUFFY ONE, SHE KNOWS NOTHING
Reven / Lipthink (giant sword) to Talwin: THAT IDIOT SMALL ONE AGAAAAAAIN
Reven / Lipthink (giant sword) to Talwin: First she befriends our bacon, and now THIS?
Indigo: You seem so angry
Talwin: I AM ANGRY
Bixi Fizzlebang: Good tactic, Indigo!
Session: 20220805s - 20220805c
- We start in Traderstown the day before Bacchanal, the Fertility Festival, one of many Holidays, with a hope for beds and some leads on where to hire a ship (NOT a boat).
- Bixi attempts to sing, every NPC we've met lately has a dirty mind (and somehow dirtier than the last), and due to the festival, we're just going to have to toss some mattresses on the floor in the only two rooms available and hope everyone has showered and restrained their eating of beans.
- Also, we're close to a big city. Careful of the pickpocketers here including your own...
- First lead is Jorlaine (which my brain wants to be Jolene). Who's going to chase that lead?
- First split are the men (and two women) visiting town for information gathering. Also known as Lanek, Zayden, Craigh, Bixi, and Akilah.
- Craigh, now known as Smag the Hitman, runs into a drunk. This drunk is too clumsy to pickpocket him, but is just sober enough to point him towards Caroline in Slavers Bend to help find a ship. Second lead. Zayden is invited to the drunk man's arena match tomorrow before he staggers off.
- Also who is this New Prince everyone keeps mentioning? Will he be important later somehow...?
- This group splits further with the men visiting the slaver who offers to lend us out a crew. Now, this is a different group, but we've had a discussion about slavers before. And the whole Indigo being sold as one. And the ethics of escorting a slaver ship. And if we can just buy them their freedom or something. But anyways, the slaver will leave Caroline a message that we're looking for her.
- The brothel is... a brothel, and although Akilah looks for one that may more likely serve female clientele, somehow they end up in one with only female workers? Not that it's bad if that's what you're into, but you know, it'd be nice to have a brothel with equal representation here. Anyways, he does know of Jorlene the ship merchant and will have her there in the morning. Next question: is Jorlene the same woman as Jorlaine? Or is Bob not going to forgive the name mix-up and give us yet another lead? Maybe they're sisters?
- Second split are Raelynn, Youtargim, and Licornah going to town to visit Hanali's Temple at minimum, maybe other Elven temples as well. Who knows?
- Apparently Youtargim met Kel which means Kel stayed in Dragon Fen. It's the small details that matter.
- They arrive at the temple, or at least the area of temples? And look around a bit and... that's, er, is all for now, apparently.
- But what about Indigo, Howard, and Thistle? They decided to stay behind while the others explore.
- I can't speak for the latter two, but Indigo gets some (old?) stew, a bit of civil war talk, and a bit of gambling in. He starts off great, but the minute he's offered a ship called Buttercup, his luck runs out. Now I'm not saying I'm biased, but I've been hoping we'd find a ship named Buttercup since the beginning of the session so this is a bit heartbreaking.
- ... but there's always another chance, isn't there? Slip sounds willing to hire her out...
- Anyways, that's where we leave the night. Still looking for a ship to hire (not a boat), and maybe concerned about the next day.
- Also while it doesn't cover Loosend to Rivers Bend, if you want a snippet of what we can possibly run into during this trip, here you go.
Quotes of the Night
Akilah bint-Fahkr al Hiyal: Looking for a boat. We just mentioned. Clearly we are lost.
Indigo: Ship!
Old Woman, Hold: What is with you and ships?
Indigo: We need a ship. Not a boat
Akilah bint-Fahkr al Hiyal: We need whatever is available that will float us down the river. The name of the thing is irrelevant.
Youtargim: A boat can get you across a stream, or from your Ship to the dock
Youtargim: We need a ship
Indigo: Thank you Youtargim
BOB So that Sharif understands what everyone wants Zayden to use his Information Gathering skills on.... look for a knarr for hire to go to Rivers Bend
BOB What else?
Lisa: where's the best place to exercise our fertility?
TMO (Craigh): "exercise our fertility"? That needs to be in the summary quotes
Lorie: Welcome back, next week we're starting with writing our wills since BOB has professed that it will be bloody and much dying
Lisa: he just said bloody
Lisa: you can get very bloody and not die
Session: 20220812s - 20220812c
- We start the night off at the Elven Temple with Raelynn, Licornah, and Youtargim with the goal of finding any good gossip (maybe about the Prince?), any leads on where to store the horses, and potentially finding any help they can provided. Raelynn was a priestess here for years so surely this won't be a wasted trip?
- This was a wasted trip. They get non-important gossip, are told don't bring the horses north due to the hippogriff farm, and well, that's all. Yay.
- I suppose the Elves can't complain as they did get to sleep somewhere nice, and Youtargim did NOT sleep with Raelynn, but slept... outside the other temple? Inside it? Something? Let's change the subject, shall we!
- You know that underground bare-knuckle match that Craigh mentioned? He got Talwin signed up for one. Now THIS won't be a wasted trip, will it?
- Thankfully, not in the LEAST! This one is harder to sum up because it's much better to read it. The long and short of it is Talwin won against three opponents, put up a fantastic fight with the fourth, but ultimately got knocked down. We're talking Loony Tune style: keeps being hit, doesn't fall, until -boop- and he collapses.
- Thistle, deciding to be an upstanding citizen and cover the betting at the arena rather than run around town pickpocketing everyone and anyone, helps the group win 1100 gold with Talwin getting another 200 gold for himself.
- It's also worth mentioning that for some odd reason, Talwin has a thing for punching thighs?
- Also we did not solve the mystery of why every opponent shots "VENGEANCE!" before they attack. Do they know Talwin and hate him? Is this some underground ritual? Are there other underground bare-knuckle matches? Is it absolutely one of those things or something else and not just a plug-in error? Things to discover...
- Last stop for the night is to see about the ship Jorlaine has that we could maybe rent?
- Nope, we're forced to buy it because even though we were given three leads we're pushed into this one AND all that gold we won? Now gone. And then some. It'll be a fun trip when we're broke halfway through it, yeah?
- Did I already mention the dirty-minded NPCs because I feel this needs to be mentioned again. We really need to broaden our horizons here and meet new NPCS and/or offer some of these NPCs some therapy sessions as it's clearly starting to interfere with their daily life.
- Although, admittedly, I like the indirect Hamlet reference. That was definitely intentional, right? Yup. Definitely.
- Or just as intentional celebrations. (Response.)
- So anyways, we leave it there for the night, ready to grab the ship in the morning, with some oath and deal in place that someone else is surely paying more attention to than me. Will things improve when we go to grab the ship? We'll find out!
Quotes of the Night
(insert all the commentary by Lanek and Thistle here)
Carissa (Raelynn): (Craigh is taking you to a bare-knuckle match, you'll be fineeeeee)
Lisa: not sure why we are escalating from arm wrestling but anywho ...
Session: 20220819s - 20220819c
- We start on the ship (not boat) with Indigo giving everyone advice: don't fall overboard, be nice and pay the toll dragons, look for other ships, laugh at the boats, and scrags.
- Out of our 12, we'll need 8 people rowing. Whoever is not rowing should keep an eye out to look for dangers. Out of the 12 of us, the only ones who could continuously row are the experienced people who are Indigo, Zayden, and Youtargim. Possibly Lanek, as well, but he has boating and we're on a ship, so I cannot say for sure...
- Oh, but we'll have to rely on Youtargim to steer us properly. You know, the pirate who apparently cannot swim??????????
- Anyways, we also talk about toll dragons, what we'd pay one, and how the chances of Knotty having brucellosis and pseudorabies is quite high so we might need to put him down. One of these is a serious zoonotic disease. It's no joke, people!
- First encounter is a small green cloud coming off The Witches' Island. What does that mean?
- We don't know. Raelynn only knows the island, but yeah, we should try to avoid it? And thankfully, we do. For now.
- We also work on our rowing chants. Some are good, some are... chants, and some just aren't that great. We'll figure it out as we go.
- And yes, Bixi predicts we'll have great sailing weather for our trip.
- Also here's another reminder that if we talk, and have good roleplay, that counts as an encounter. Sailing down a quiet part of the river? Talk it out, talk it out.
- Eventually, Zayden tries his luck at fishing, Bixi her attempts at stew, and as she goes to get water, her eagle eyes spots three scrags crawling up the side of the ship.
- Nearly everyone hits or attempts to hit one with Indigo and Akilah delivering final blows. Talwin nearly falls off the side of the ship, but with help from Raelynn and Thistle, is pulled back on deck to finish off the other scrag. But what to do now?
- And here's the fun debate of what do our characters know and what do they not know? Would any of them know the scrags need fresh water to regenerate? Do we really want their bodies to rot on deck? If tradition of pushing them off and sailing away has worked in the past, why don't we do that still? So yeah, we just push them back overboard.
- And no, Zayden does not luck out with fishing this time. Nor does Bixi know what the plant is that he fished out. Better luck tomorrow?
- Also why are you mentioning the Dragon Turtle, Indigo? That last near TPK is still a painful memory. Even if it wasn't the same one, let's not bring up the past, okay? We don't have Brer with us now to keep faith.
- Lanek takes over to keep an eye on the water and spots ...a water puppy! Puppies, whether land, sea, or air, are always innocent, cute, harmless creatures, right?
- To be fair, we don't know WHY the water puppy (selkie) wanted to lure Lanek into the water. To bait? To date? To decimate?
- It doesn't matter why. We just need to stop him which between Zayden's tackling, Bixi's deafening, and Indigo's punching (of the selkie) do.
- Okay, apparently it matters a bit to Raelynn. Why Lanek of all people? But he's saved, and that's what matters.
- Hearing restored, and sky starting to turn dark, it's time to start planning for the night ...on Friday. See you then!
- Don't forget, if you want to do something that wasn't done in session, or you want to do something between sessions, you can do so here.
Quotes of the Night
BOB This ship (not boat) in the background image is not the one you are actually using, it just is a nice image
Michael (Talwin): Yay Michael for gold. And getting his ass kicked. But you know, boat, so, it all works out...
Lisa: ship
Michael (Talwin): Ship, yes.
Carissa: I ship that
Carissa: Talwin needs armor
BOB Metal Armor in water = sink to the bottom
Carissa: so he's a witch
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Ok, let's buy fishing gear. He will be devastated if he's on a ship for two weeks and can't fish
Lisa: we got him 3 fishing poles and a can for bait
Lisa: he can be out there looking for worms as we speak
Lisa: it's on the party pack so it must be true
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Oh, so BOB lied to me. Ok, got it.
Indigo: I don't think we have any virgins
Indigo: Maybe Howard!
Howard Plum: That is inappropriate!
BOB WOW
Zayden Checks out the seal... approvingly
Session: 20220826s - 20220826c
- With many of us late, there's a bit of messing around with the program for which I'm glad I missed because, and I know this'll be a shocker to some of you, the way spells work in here is still the bane of my existence, and now it has contaminated others.
- But anyways, clear skies, clear skies let's just get things going instead with watches, yeah? With boat anchored and water surrounding us.
- First watch with Zayden, Howard, and Raelynn is enlightening. We find out Howard's father is a jerk, how he became a mage, that he's kissed a girl, but that he's never done more than that as he's waiting for the right one - which apparently is just someone who wants to be with him. No matter! Raelynn offers Zayden position to be her first client for matchmaking and hints to Howard that if he wants to prove Indigo's joke wrong, she has some ideas on how to fix that, but what they are, he'll only know if he takes up that offer.
- Second watch with the guys get Youtargim kicked off it pretty early on for saying some weird stuff, Lanek describing a fantastic dream nightmare about Raelynn trying to fix him up with someone, some talk of the Mist, and Akilah trying to describe coffee.
- Third watch is Bixi asking Licornah endless questions, Craigh and Thistle trying to figure out shadow puppets and food fights, and a morning of cleaning that up.
- With watches out of the way, Zayden decides to try his hand at fishing again and snags ...two fish? And get electrocuted by one? Science impossibilities aside, that's gotta hurt.
- Fun times of trying to figure out what happened, stopping the eel from trying to steal our carp and hurt us in the process, and bringing both on deck to kill and eat without getting hurt more.
- There's also some confuse about whether or not to pee on fish to make it... not electrocute you? I'm pretty sure they're thinking jellyfish, and no, don't do that on those stings either as that's a myth and simply nasty.
- So we leave it there for the night with a stew to be made, stories to tell, and reminders to not pee on things.
Quotes of the Night
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Bixi just doesn't want to be stuck with Yout
Carissa (Raelynn): Stuck in the middle with Yout
Raelynn: Wow, you've done a lot.
Raelynn: ....but not a lot of ladies, apparently.
Howard Plum: Yes, I have failed at many things
Lisa: Lanek is Mr. Manners
Spring: Lanek is the last person to teach manners
Craigh: because you'll never need another teacher after him?
Lanek: when you eat stew with a knife, be sure yer holdin yer elbow just so
Zayden: I only want to pee on the eel
Zayden: or as i call it
Raelynn: No. Zayden. Just no.
Zayden: peel
Zayden: Oy! Watermelons!
Zayden tucks himself back to sleep
Zayden watermelons
BOB Quote for Carissa on watermellons
Session: 20220902s - 20220902c
- This'll be another quick one. Some talk about ships and boats and rudders then to watches.
- Howard, Licornah, and Bixi. They talk a bit before a raft drifting by interrupts them: a raft full of politics. Howards swims out to see what's going on with the bundles and chains, finds a slave wanting to sell his former slavers, decides he doesn't want to get involved, and sends them away with luck. That takes care of that!
- Zayden, Akilah, and Lanek. You know that earlier raft? Before swimming out there, Howard tried to hook them with Zayden's fishing line. He finds out and is unhappy. Then he hears a beautiful song, jumps in the water, and nearly drowns until Akilah lassos him, and with help from Lanek, they rope him back in.
- Craigh, Raelynn, and Youtargim. Nothing of interest here except some conversation.
- Morning comes (not breaks), Zayden gets us more fish, Bixi cooks us more stew, and we're interrupted by: a raft full of politics.
- Yeah, it was going with the current which we are, too. And now one of the chained apparent former slavers is dead. But we can't just leave these people now so we bring the other two on board. We'll deal with the politics later. We send the raft off as a pyre with the board and bring the other two in as cargo for now.
- For the evening we anchor near the starboard bank of the river and are greeted by: giant crabs.
- Little fight for great reward. Who doesn't want to eat huge amounts of crab? One is already pre-battered!
- So we leave it there for the night with crabs to eat, two uneventful watches, and something awaiting the third watch...
Quotes of the Night
Youtargim: but on a ship you need the rudder to work in tandem with the sails
Indigo: Steer the rudder as smooth at butter
Bixi Fizzlebang: I can't believe it's not rudder!
Lanek: that's what i am sayin
Lanek: you almost died
Lanek: beware of beautiful thangs
BOB and quote for Lanek for you Carissa
Carissa (Raelynn): (for summary or for Rae to be offended...? :P)
Akilah bint-Fahkr al Hiyal: Not just in water. There is no shortage of beautiful female monsters out there looking to lure men in to their doom with their songs.
Akilah bint-Fahkr al Hiyal: Funny how there are almost no male equivalents of the same.
TMO (Craigh): (the fantasy version of a construction crew catcalling adventurous ladies)
Lanek: i heard there was a raft yesterday
Bixi Fizzlebang: The last one was full of politics
Bixi Fizzlebang: Hope this one is better
Youtargim: Who carries politics?
Bixi Fizzlebang: Was it an undertoad? I've heard about those. Don't sound good
Session: 20220909s - 20220909c
- We start at the end of first watch and begin with second watch. What will Thistle, Akilah, and Zayden find out that Howard and Raelynn did not?
- No clue who Vlad was, but Arkady Bulygin is/was a tanner who made some deal that was hard to uphold once the supply chain got wonky when the king died. Yeah, we all feel that Arkady.
- Deal or no deal, the barrister kind of protects Arkady by interrupting and delaying things so we can get a straight answer. Ah yes, welcome to BOB World. Anyways, yeah, we can at least take out our frustrations on the NPC by tying a gag around him. It doesn't get us straight answers, but it at least makes him shush up.
- Anyways, dead King of Jarvis, hobgoblins or something, things that don't matter to us at the moment and given it's been four year, no rush to consider, either.
- Thistle and Zayden get bored and go wake third watch while Akilah ponders the philosophical with one who can talk and one who cannot.
- Do Craigh, Bixi, Lanek, or Talwin have better luck figuring out what to do with these two?
- So do we toss them overboard? There's ...an unsettling amount of us who would like that, yes.
- Bixi asks Non-Lawyer Arkady what his plans are, and since the other guy is dead, he doesn't really know? What he'd really like to do is kill the Barrister with no witnesses. Wait, doesn't that mean kill Bixi and all her companions, too? She's heard enough.
- And thankfully some frogs interrupt before we have to worry about those two anymore for the moment!
- Standard battle, no one gets eaten. Is it because Indigo is busy sleeping? It's not from a lack of trying, but I suppose Gnomes just don't go down as smoothly as Halflings.
- Anyways, Bixi is excited about frog legs, Youtargim did get beat up pretty badly, and Talwin would REALLY like to toss those two overboard now?
- Sorry, but Raelynn says no. Someone has to have a conscious here.
- Separate them and leave them at different ports? Finally something sensible. Maybe Indigo has an idea of where?
- Oh, and side note: Zayden still has not licked a frog.
- We'll find out either on site or, well, at some point. See you Friday AND Saturday for Birthday Game 2022!
Quotes of the Night
Craigh: So, broke merchant, captured bannister, and dead king?
Michael (Talwin): Is that the beginning of a joke? Like, a man, a priest and a fairy walk into a bar....?
Bixi Fizzlebang: I guess we can't decide for sure until the group is all together. Anyone mind if I go down and try to talk to the non-lawyer?
Talwin: Sure
Talwin: But why the non lawyer?
Bixi Fizzlebang: Because why would I want to talk to a lawyer?
Shislif (Zayden): Frogs are cool, they're not like sharks or whatever
Session: 20220916s - 20220916c
- It's the time of year where I attempt to write this as we play. Let's see how it goes, shall we?
- After deciding the fate of our two cargo hold passengers, we start with full spells and full health and pirates weaving in front of us. It's definitely not ominous to have everything brought up to full, right? Right...
- It's bugbear pirates, maybe 4-6 that we can see so far, on a small, but very annoying ship.
- Oh damn. It's two ships. Who is shocked??? Maybe Youtargim as a spear comes flying by his head. Less so Indigo. Not Talwin. So casting, some fighting. Raelynn tries to down one boat, Licornah tries to paralyze others with a pseudo-wyvern, Craigh looks imposing.
- Youtargim does Youtargim and tries to shake the bugbears off which... okay, that's a valid thing to try, but let's hope we can all remain standing. Okay, maybe not Raelynn.
- The hopefully sinking boat gets covered in glittery dust thanks to Howard and another hole punched into it from Bixi and her watery fist of doom.
- Youtargim does some funky maneuvering, has Craigh and Thistle drop the anchor, and our knarr stops. The other bugbears hold on, but get killed. The sinking glittery ones... keep sinking while glittery.
- We leave it there tonight with salvage operations starting tomorrow.
Quotes of the Night
Indigo: What kind of ship is it? Akilah? Like ours or bigger?
Akilah: It is a boat. (shrugs)
Zayden: It's not always about the size of the boat. Sometimes... it's about the motion of the ocean. (winks)
...
Yout: Do you want me to stay straight? or steer which way?
Zayden: Hey Yout if you're fluid that way go for it you know
Lord Bibo: piracy, organized religion, what's the difference?
Sharif: the uniforms?
Akilah bint-Fahkr al Hiyal: Their ship seems small. Maybe we can be ramming it Yes?
Zayden: What if it's small but sturdy?
Akilah bint-Fahkr al Hiyal: Then it will be sturdy beneath our ship
Zayden: Ha!
Zayden: Is that how it works though?
Akilah bint-Fahkr al Hiyal: If I knew how it worked, I would not have asked.
BOB So Thistle scrambles up to help Craigh, who single handedly (HAH!) reaches up and DROPS the anchor chain
Youtargim: GET OFF MY SHIP
KICKS
Zayden: Nice! Just like Harrison Ford!
Shislif (Zayden): OOC
Zayden: Harison Ford is this Bard I know
Session: 20220923s - 20220923c
- We begin at a continuation of where we were when we ended the Birthday Game. To be clear: the Wisewoman of this clan was murdered by nobles, the rain starts, gypsies are being picked off and killed, and the three currently imprisoned were rescued by us. Now what?
- First we need to get the gypsies ((Other) Indigo, Woundwort, and Cast) back to the caravan which, if we remember from last time, means going through the guards. How to do that?
- A bit of makeup from Raelynn, a lot of fantastic disguise work by Zayden, and just a tiniest bit of god given luck in the form of a spell. Soon we have three new elves with us who took a vow of silence and/or do not speak Western Common. Success!
- Rather than bring more attention to us by having a large group go back to the gypsy, Indigo, Bixi, and Youtargim decide to get some new supplies including a ridiculous amount of cheese? Not going to question it, though. Cheese is delicious.
- And for whatever it is worth, Holpbert Mamn has decided to cook us up a delicious quail dish for dinner as we've decided to stay one more night at the fancy Palazzo because why not? Also because it's better than anchoring in the deep lake of questionable safety.
- We're greeted by the guard who remembers us, but informs us he's retiring. Congrats, Random NPC! He then tells us of his new business plans of starting up a skill resurfacing office using special wax. Something about how the first person who signs on will win a regatta?
- Anyways, wax is also of interest to mages, such as Howard, who spend money on EVERYTHING. Maybe they could work together? We'll see if Howard takes Olin up on his offer when we pass back through here and we can find out what makes this wax so special. I hope it isn't the source. Earwax, anyone?
- The next guard is the gypsy guard who mentions dancing, gets Raelynn excited about dancing, offers to dance with her, and makes Thistle remind them they are there with a purpose. Although Thistle confuses the guard when she tries to explain, but whatever, he let's them back in.
- Again, the death of the previous Wisewoman, the execution of two previous clansmen, and the planned execution of the three they saved means there's been too much death already so maybe we'll find a way to choose the next Wisewoman that doesn't involve death, okay?
- Thistle tracks down Sapphire and Jade to speak to them together. By which I mean she does classic Thistle and makes enough of a ruckus they have no choice but to see her together.
- From there, Thistle gives them a talking to and chews their ears off about how their inability to do anything has lead to clan members being killed, how their attempts at selflessness is selfish, and how while they were whining about the reasons they couldn't do anything she, Thistle, managed to at least rescue the three from prison.
- Wait, what? This apparently shocks Jade and Sapphire who cannot fathom how Thistle managed to do this even with A Little Help From (Her) Friends. They are understandable impressed. As they should be.
- Zayden asks who they think should be Wisewoman, and both women point to Thistle who isn't going to argue against this considering her "competition" is incompetent. She has strong opinions, here. They ask a bit about her travel and pack management, and then ask if she's tried the ring?
- Thistle shows off her gorgeous fire ring, but no, not that ring. Sapphire shows her a blue metal ring with dancing clouds on it. With a shrug, Thistle tries it on because it contrasts beautifully with the red metal of her fire ring so why not?
- It's... a tad overwhelming at first as Thistle suddenly feels as thought she is consumed by water, rain soaking her to the bones, drowning her in her lungs, and all that good stuff!
- ...but again, fire ring, remember? And with a little bit of concentration, she's able to balance them out and gain her bearings. So what now?
- With a hint of an idea, and the guidance of Howard (because Thistle does NOT know magic), she claps her hands together, clasping them tightly so the rings grate against each other, until she's sudden aglow (literally), the rain breaks, the clouds lighten, and the oppressive air diminishes into a normal weather pattern. Success!!
- Obviously, clearly, this means Thistle is the new Wisewoman. She's literally glowing. Did that... ever go away? Whatever, doesn't matter, congrats to Wisewoman Thistle on her new clan of ((currently unnamed))!
- And yes, Thistle has MANY ideas she wants to put into play such as a rebellion. She's tired of gypsies being misunderstood and mistreated. So how will she go about it? Obviously, by first going back to Dragon Fen! And then? Well, you'll see! But I'll give a hint that some of her ideas may come from this tale that is definitely an old Elvish one, yep.
- But really, can Thistle now control the weather? Akilah wants to know. Unfortunately, after some gyspy blaming and suggestions of murder being brought up again by her, and no hint of apology for it, Thistle decides that, for this question, she'll wait to talk to Branwyn, Friend of the Gypsies, and Friend of Wisewoman Thistle. And proponent of not murdering people that shouldn't be murdered. Because again, murder is what got us here in the first place.
- And yes, don't worry, Thistle cannot WAIT to tell Shi'Nynze all about this, and maybe finally convince Shi to take her to the Wildlands? Hmm...
- This clearly means it's time to celebrate! But, you know, with some time limits as they do have prisoners that the guards may notice haven't returned, and rather than fight with that, maybe it's best they just leave for now?
- Yes, maybe this will exacerbate gyspy blaming due to the timing, but you know what? Olin just retired the same day. And who isn't to say Thistle didn't leave a note before they left, wishing him a happy retirement, and how good fortune must be coming his way as the rain broke when he finished his final shift? That is one lucky dude. I am sure many understand how retirement must be like seeing a break in the clouds after working a soulless, dreary job. Sometimes rebellions have to start with the little suggestions and attempted redirections.
- Anyways, they party, they say their goodbyes, Thistle promises to be in Dragon Fen when they return before she begins her journey and gets some pieces of her plan moving. And just like Shi'Nynze, this is the end of this chapter for Thistle, but perhaps the beginning of a new, book worthy one.
Quotes of the Night
Jade: I will follow Thistle
Sapphire : I will accept Thistle
Lanek: I will stop bitchin' about Thistle
Thistle: yells out to the clan, “Y'ALL WANNA CELEBRATE ONE LAST NIGHT BEFORE WE LEAVE?”
Gypsy Guard: YEAHHHHHH
Craigh: I'd lean towards moving sooner rather than later. They are missing 3 prisoners after all.
Thistle: Oh damn, ya I guess you're right, Craigh.
Thistle: yells back out, “THEN LET'S CELEBRATE RIGHT NOW 'CAUSE WE GOTTA LEAVE IN AN HOUR TOPS!”
Gypsy Guard: YAHA,, AHHAAH yeah?
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Ok, but I also want 5 pounds for us on the ship
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Which, for the record, is not even that much cheese. I could eat that myself in a week, no problem.
Lisa (Indigo): Bixi doesn't have to buy cheese unless she doesn't want to share
Akilah bint-Fahkr al Hiyal: There is nothing wrong with simple
Thistle: Ya there is. Ain't everything black and white, and when ya try to make it so, ya cause pain that can be avoided.
Akilah bint-Fahkr al Hiyal: Pain is rarely avoided through shades of gray.
TMO (Craigh): especially all 50 of them
Thistle clasps her hands together and suddenly she GLOWS and the rains BREAK into a soft normal weather pattern and the clouds feel lighter
Thistle: Wow. That was fun.
Thistle: shields her eyes and glances at the sky
Thistle: Glows
Thistle: squints her eyes as her glowing hands make it hard to see
Session: 20220930s - 20220930c
- The night starts with some technical difficulties. Some BIG technical difficulties. It kind of slow things down, but that's life, yeah?
- We attempt to push through it. Some good rolls means one combat encounter with scrags. Again. But at least no one is surprised by them.
- One attacks Indigo. And that's pretty stupid of it because of course Indigo (nearly) kills it without a problem. I'm not complaining. I'm just pointing out facts. It does manage to slip away, but barely.
- One attempts to attack Raelynn. She gets on hit in with her sling before Lanek bravely pulled her away and steps in her place so she's protect. Which is very nice of him given that the scrag already attempted (and missed) grabbing her. With help from Howard, that one dies.
- The third one gets beat up on, but manages to grab Akilah and run away. That said, Craigh gets out his magic lasso and manages to somehow lasso BOTH of them and tie it off so it can't escape? And then Indigo kills the scrag, nearly drowns, and Craigh manages to whip the scrag free of the lasso and lasso Indigo in the same breath. It's incredibly impressive. And yes, Licornah got Akilah out before that.
- Technically difficulties are resolved allowing for some sanity and some watches.
- Raelynn, Zayden, and Craigh on first watch. There's some slight miscommunication, a pep talk, plans to make a book together, and a group hug. What's better than that? Well maybe a successful fishing roll, but details.
- Indigo and Akilah on second watch. There's talk about eating scrags, eating camel, and ends with Indigo getting a new haircut. Does it actually look good? We'll have to wait for that roll to find out...
- Bixi, Howard, and Licornah on third watch. There's talk about what everyone did for a living pre-party, some nudge nudge wink wink from Bixi to Howard regarding Raelynn, talk about skin health and learning magic, and ends with... Bixi planning something which is in chat so I won't spoil it here.
- And that's where we leave it, some number of miles away from our destination still, hopefully with no technical issues next week!
- Pssst, there might be a second spoiler in chat about something else coming our way if you get bored...
Quotes of the Night
Lisa: another dmg for Rae
Lisa: she hit 2x
Lisa: Howard just wants to see her pic again
Carissa (Raelynn): that was accidental, don't know if she can technically shot twice?
Carissa (Raelynn): LOL
Craigh: Is... uh... is anybody actually keeping an eye out for danger?
Raelynn: Only the danger you present to yourself.
Zayden: sometimes the greatest danger comes from within
BOB I have no idea what is happening with the CT
BOB Akilah has jumped up and down the list
TMO (Craigh): Craigh's secret - the rope he uses is actually bungee cord, and Akilah is now bouncing up and down the tracker
Session: 20221007s - 20221007c
- We start the evening finishing up the evening meaning those who had watches are on shore and those who did not are on the boat. This isn't relevant at all, don't worry!
- And Zayden catching fish that have webs all over them definitely isn't relevant, either. Stop worrying, already!
- Oh that shadow in the water? What about it? It's Spooky Season. Who doesn't have a vaguely spider shaped decoration up already? No one said you can't put them in the water.
- For no apparent reason AT ALL, we decide to put up a ward to walk us back to the ship. It's only 60 ft away, not sure why we're doing this, but you know, why not?
- Akilah silently walks the walk. I mean, sure, if that giant spider is real, then the ward wouldn't affect it, but that doesn't matter, right? Right.
- But obviously wrong. She gets bite AND envenomated. And we all know how much that sucks, yeah? Because now we have to focus on that for this single round because sometimes 2e rules are garbage. Yeah, I said it. Garbage. You know why? Because no venom kills THAT fast NOR are we currently in Fantasy Australia (which actually sounds nightmarish?). SCIENCE.
- Indigo grabs Akilah who is grabbed by Bixi who is bite and therefore passes her on to Raelynn who manages to cast a spell to slow the poison. It's like a game of hot potato here!
- And yes, in trying to guard everyone, Indigo also gets bites, the game has cursed dice, but with real dice he manages to make his poison save. Woo! Please don't make me worry about having to make literal life and death decisions again. Thanks.
- We're also swarmed by ghost spiders who do less damage, and as we are not ghost, their venom has no affect on us. I'm pretty sure that's the reason. Science? Anyways, Craigh lassoes one of them, Howard stabs one to death, one attempts to attack Youtargim on the ship, and Indigo kills another one.
- Raelynn and Zayden (carrying Akilah) make sure the path to the ship is clear. Can't have the ship drifting away. And then everyone else joins because ghost spiders actually aren't too powerful and die quickly. There's no catch here. Right...?
- Anyways, yes, we have a Potion of Health, and we do get rid of the poison so Akilah survives.
- Well that was fun. Good thing we're set for an easy rest of the day! Nothing horrible will go wrong after all that. Nope. Lady Luck is on our side!
- So anyways, critical failure roll means a lich is after us. Yeah. It's fine. Everything is finnnnne.
- While magic missiles from Howard prevent the lightning attack, is unable to cast that quick and is unable to prevent the follow-up flame strike. Is the knarr on fire? Why yes, but we are on water, and Bixi can cast a fist of water to put out the fire which is exactly what she does.
- Raelynn chants and blesses, Akilah can't do anything with non-magic arrows, Bixi nearly gets a spell past the lich, but fails, and Youtargim suggest we ram the lich on the raft because why not?
- And why not indeed! It knocks the lich down who is nearly dead, floating in the water, smacked in the head by Indigo (non-magic weapon) and finally killed by Talwin (magic evil crazy weapon who talks). Success!
- Also the lich is what we call a no touchy. If you touchy her, you get evil. Or at least be turned to her side. Which is probably evil. Fun to contemplate, but not fun to experience so again: NO TOUCHY. At least we got cool loot.
- Well that was fun so why don't we leave it there for the night? We're still in the dark shire so who knows what awaits us before we get out of range unless we push ourselves do to that. Do we? I don't know. Find out Friday!
Quotes of the Night
BOB The main issue for Knotty is he is down in the hold and has to be lifted up to the deck
LordBiBo: I disagree. The main issue with knotty is he isn't bacon
BOB So Bixi, HEAVES Akilah up and brings her to Rae
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Good thing we did all that rowing
LordBiBo (Akilah bint-Fahkr al Hiyal): so the lich is on it's raft, below the front of the ship, can I dump out some holy water on it?
Lisa (Indigo): try to splash some on Indigo too since he is on fire :D
Michael (Talwin): Who's going to pee on him to put him out?
TMO (Craigh): I think that's a Zayden thing
Session: 20221014s - 20221014c
- Things can only look up from here? Right? Sure. Keep saying that and one day it'll be true. Not for the fisherman we come across, of course, whose buddy is tangled in the lines under water. We're gonna do something about that, correct?
- I mean yes? You know a good handful of our characters can't just walk away from such a thing. So we have Indigo and Zayden ready to dive down (with water breathing from the potion) and Howard, Talwin, and Lanek as standby. This should be easy. So easy. SO EASY.
- Anyways, those carp eat the bleeding nearly dead man who is definitely dead now, eat the bodies of the ones Indigo slays, tries to eat Zayden, and try to eat Talwin who jumps in to save Zayden.
- We do save Zayden, but he ends up as our second walking wounded for the day. Wonderful.
- And no, we don't even get to keep carp meat for later. But we do gain a new friend? Halgert, the Human, Sailor/Fisherman from Bywater.
- He tells us of the Terragaurd Navy stealing men from Dryads Lair, knows of Indigo's family (or at least home), and all that.
- So anyways, things can only look up from here...? If I type that enough, it'll come true, right?
- Another freakin' critical failure encounter roll. It's not a lich, but with the state we're in, a giant slug isn't necessarily much better. So where do we go from here? I've got some thoughts where, as always, you'll find here.
Quotes of the Night
Lisa (Indigo): carps are M?
Carissa (Raelynn): carpe de-medium
Zayden: Help! Dangerous Crap argh!
Spring (Lanek): hahaha crap
Shislif (Zayden): lol right
Zayden: Carp!
BOB Not sure what the numbers are but we will say that Talwin can swing and damage
Carissa (Raelynn): did Bob just say to ....not math?
Lisa (Indigo): weird ...
Carissa (Raelynn): TMO suddenly felt a disturbance in the force
Session: 20221021s - 20221021c
- And back to the giant slug. We've got this, right gang? Right.
- With a little bit of pre-planning, we got Howard blinding it successfully with glitter dust, Zayden singing the slug song, Licornah getting a helping hand ready, Youtargim slashing it with his magic scimitar, Raelynn getting it extra entangled in the pond weeds, Talwin feeding his bloodthirsty sword with slug blood, Craigh successfully running into the hold to grab some salt, and Lanek shoving that salt in the wound Talwin created.
- All of the results in the slug being much too close to death for its preference and disappearing under the water to leave us alone. Success!
- And no, slugs don't technically have blood, but hemolymph, and yes, it is greenish blue because they have hemocyanin which carries copper, rather than the iron of hemoglobin, to transport oxygen. SCIENCE.
- And yes, Bixi still has her watery fist to help push the ship later.
- So we do our best to speed out of there, don't get much rest, and run into... eagles. And a bird lesson from me, but you can read chat for that.
- As they look like they'd want to eat our smallest, Indigo kills one and Licornah convinces the other one to leave us alone. Much easier than that slug!
- Finally, FINALLY we can rest, right? We aren't completely and utterly cursed. Right?!?!
- We are cursed. We are SO cursed. Do we have sympathy from Bob who didn't expect needing to consult his critical failure chart THREE TIMES in one game day???
- A freak thunderstorm. Okay. We can do this. Really. We just need to not be cursed and hope for the best
- The ship takes some damage as does Lanek, but we make it out of the storm. Woo!
- NOW can we rest? Yes! Half the group finally feels like we're in calmer waters so let's rest!
- Except maybe we aren't in calmer waters? Some of us think we are, some of us don't think we are so what's the deal?
- Magic, obvious. In the form of ...a singing scrag? Who knew!
- Indigo kills one, Bixi scares away the other two, and suddenly those who felt tired feel ...tired still, but understand that maybe we should keep going...
- After much too long, game-wise and real-life wise, we finally reach night and watches. Should be fine, right?
- There's some chatter on first watch with Indigo, Bixi, and Licornah, and some rolling with second watch. And some pity.
- As in, no we don't want an undead treant so we get ...undead seals. Lovely. And a missing anchor. Fun. Wonderful. Great. The Dark Shire is horrid and too big.
- Second watch wakes a few extra, gets us rowing to safety, and for now, Talwin jerry-rigs up a temporary anchor.
- We're on a brand new day with plans to Indigo to help repair the ship next stop and hopefully for us to get a new anchor. Will we succeed? At this rate, I'm dubious, but we'll find out!
- But also to note, we did somehow roll two critical success encounters that'll be cool treasures or something? Looking forward to that clarification.
Quotes of the Night
Zayden: Dang everybody see that slug? It's huge!
Zayden: Reminds of my ex
Bixi Fizzlebang: Your ex was a huge slug?
Zayden: haha, well that's just how I remember her, but not really
Bixi Fizzlebang: Hey, whatever floats your boat man
Zayden: well it didn't really float my boat, why she's an ex
BOB To your former anchor that is not attached anymore
BOB and the chain just FLEW up
Lisa (Indigo): we are not getting our security deposit back on this knarr!
Carissa (Raelynn): Indigo has boat repair skills I believe?
Carissa (Raelynn): if we ever, you know, get to rest and pull over or something
BOB Yes Indigo can repair up to 1d10 points to the ship given one day and supplies
Michael (Talwin): I think to recharge, the ship needs at least two watches of uninturrupted sleep...
Session: 20221028s - 20221028c
- Let's get right to it. We're rowing, Youtargim starts cursing in arithmetic, and something about lamphreys? Not to be confused with the less ominous lamprey (unless you are their prey).
- Anyways, they're bad because they'll ...slow us down? Oh, and maybe damage the ship. As it hasn't had a good long rest yet and needs repairs, that part is bad. And I suppose still being in the Dark Shire is bad, too.
- So what to do, what to do? Ignore them? Avoid getting tangled in things? Zap them off? Poke them off? Maybe just lure them off? While some of us row, Talwin takes some fish that Zayden previous fished up, guts them, and successfully baits them off? Huh. Well that was easy (and good rolls)!
- And no, although offered, we do not use Howard's blood on the fish. Poor mage is just asking for a vampire "friend" with that offer! Or maybe a way to summon Brer?
- And so, we keep rowing with a finally uneventful day. We come upon Crignors Cliff and get the story about him, Indigo finds out he hasn't visited home in far longer than he realized, we learn a bit more about Bywater which is our next stop, and decide on watches! Woo!
- First watch of Licornah, Talwin, and Halgert. We find out that Halgert likes us, talk a little bit about magic and weaving, some about the Underdark, and trying to remind Talwin of that time he tackled Lady MacBeth because why would he forget something so epic?! Oh and then Howard reminds us he's been quietly on this watch too by telling everyone that Branwyn wanted to vacation there, and by there he means Dryads Lair, not the Underdark because she isn't THAT crazy. Probably. Note: It was indeed an Underdark holiday plan since the group was already in Dryads Lair and yes she is THAT crazy :D
- Second watch of Lanek, Craigh, and Indigo. We get some geography lessons, some questioning the decision making of Halgert, how much we miss wind spells, finding out Lanek can play the flute beautifully, and killer plants!
- I mean, but really, Strangleweed does try to kill (hug?) Bixi, but Indigo saves her before it can take off with her body and/or intelligence. The other plants are killed by the others before they attempt any other hugs.
- Third watch of Bixi, Raelynn, and Craigh. This is also known as the gossip watch, especially when you toss Bixi and Raelynn together. Poor Craigh. They talk a bit about music, glitter and innuendos, the forest, N'laea, setting Craigh up, and also just settling with getting Craigh drunk. And thankfully Raelynn is so cheerful no encounters happen!
- For funsies for the curious, the list of characters who have impressed N'laea so far are Brer (especially after the dragon turtle incident), Indigo (after understanding him attacking first is a mix of bravery and er, him being him), and Tiberius (who she still doesn't think is very smart, but attacking that giant when nearly dead was brave). And while she respects Branwyn, especially after helping with the cloak, she's waiting to be impressed - which is no fault of hers since she hasn't gotten to do much major magic. Yet.
- And yes, her relationship with Raelynn is complicated. Also I forgot Craigh WAS technically more than months after them so, er, blame Rae thinking it was only a few months on her being part elf and that whole time not making sense things.
- We leave it there for the night with Bywater in sight and hopefully smoother sailing ahead.
Quotes of the Night
BOB I was thinking he was asking for more blood
Lisa (Indigo): oh Howard can do that
BOB Talwin is on his way to being a vampire, he has a place in the Mist, he has a willing servant donating blood, and is friends with Branwyn
TMO (Craigh): Brer looms up behind Talwin and stakes him through the back, just to be sure
Carissa (Raelynn): So Howard, Talwin, Licornah (1), Indigo, Lanek, Yout? (2), Bixi, Craigh, Rae (3)
BOB no Halgert?
Carissa (Raelynn): oh toss him on 2nd
BOB Not with Yout please
Carissa (Raelynn): No no I want to see you talk to yourself.
Carissa (Raelynn): It's entertaining.
Lorie (Licornah): (How are you? I'm great...How are you? Also great? So, how about that weather?)
Talwin: Perks up
Talwin: You want to spar Indigo?
Indigo: I think maybe we should just keep rowing
Talwin: Nods slightly crestfallen but understanding
Raelynn: You can arm wrestle later! It's not dire yet.
Session: 20221104s - 20221104c
- Unfortunately, things have gotten ridiculously busy for me. So you'll get something short and sweet because your only other choice is nothing at all right now. Please feel free to add whatever you think needs to be added.
- We discuss survivor's guilt with Halgert before we arrive at Bywater. When we arrive, Indigo discusses ship repair estimates and lodging with the Port Master. We also meet an elf who speaks Hin (not to be confused with the elf Indigo taught to speak Hin).
- And yes, Knotty finally gets out of the hold and is put in the pen with slaughter and shipping animals. Do I need to tell you what a HORRIBLE idea it is to put shipping and slaughter together? That's how you get disease spread. That's why we have regulations against that. Because DISEASE SPREAD. Anyways, Knotty will probably be alive tomorrow. Probably.
- We also get to the inn where Craigh lets the innkeeper think Raelynn and Indigo are together. Fun times, y'all.
- Bob decides it is a good night to test the new Carouse button since we'll be hanging around town. So how does that go?
- Indigo was the life of the party, but drank too much. Someone who looks like Howard and or Zayden but is wearing a dress is being sought by the guards. Craigh ordered a TON of freshly baked meat pies and spent a fair amount of gold on them. Licornah found herself naked in a tree in the middle of town chatting with animals. Youtargim let off some steam probably because Raelynn was going on a date and somehow ended up with men's underpants in his back pocket. Raelynn nearly set the town on fire. Normal stuff, right?
- And because it bears slightly more note, technically it wasn't Raelynn. She went on a date with Hin Elf named Lord Olgorith, literal sparks happened when they startled a dog, dog chases them, owner chases dog, and the owner with his oil lantern tripped and it spread from the dry hay to the barn. See? Not her fault.
- So in conclusion, an eventful night, some mediocre music, Raelynn needing yet another bath, and curiosity for what the next day will bring.
Quotes of the Night
BOB Tonight is supposed to be a fun relaxed, low danger night, a chance to relax in a safe town
Lisa: nice
Carissa: Good exactly what I need tonight
Lorie (Licornah): (We are all going to die)
TMO: SUMMON THE TARRASQUE!
Carissa: Even if it ends in hogtying a random man and gaining a leather animal mask
Zayden: or rub its belly and say "good girl!" if pigs enjoy their belly rubbed that is
Halfling, Porter: The Port Master told me you needed some help around town?
Zayden: I know I do
Raelynn: Well Knotty is a him so it might help by saying "Good boy"?
Zayden smiles and Raelynn laughs
Zayden: oh right, sorry Knotty!
Halfling, Porter: Thank you? I guess
Raelynn: Oh, hello!
Halfling, Porter: A nice tip would be welcome, not sure a belly rub is where I am headed
Y'all can add quotes here Thanks Bob!
Session: 20221125s - 20221125c
- So we decide to debate on whether or not we want to stay in Bywater to repair the ship. Again. And I'm going to mention it here because I can, and I'm not sure why we keep rediscussing previous things decided. A conversation for later?
- This means we're now in Bywater for longer because suddenly we have a new decision and now you can decide what to do with that extra time on the spot which leaves Bixi with the Gnomes, the Elves visiting the Elves, the rest staying in town. But first, some more caruosing!
- Raelynn goes shopping, finds some pretty pink sparkly dice, and decides to see how lucky they are by playing dragon dice against a wizard. She gets her money back AND a potion which Zayden finds someone to identify as a Philter of Persuasiveness. More on that in a minute. Indigo, Talwin, and Howard all get too drunk to remember what they did except to have a good night, especially Talwin who found an exceptionally lovely bed to sleep on.
- Bixi gets drunk AND heals the Gnome Grand Master who bestows upon her the title of Story Teller for all her tales of ghosts and travels. More on this in a minute, too.
- Back to Zayden who apparently decided to pay someone to identify that potion. Thank goodness for wizard friends like Howard who know the gnome is trying to rip us off. Who pays 500 gp for something to be identified? And when did Raelynn gain another boyfriend?? Anyways, Howard talks him down to the reasonable price of 50 gp which isn't great, but he did make a deal and we need to make sure Zayden follows through. And we do, through the party fund, before Zayden then offers to buy everyone a drink. Oh Zayden...
- Back to Bixi who is approached by a halfling who speaks Common, Hin, Gnomish, and Elvish? Who claims the Story Teller needs her, and tells her mother not to worry because Boulder Indigo will protect her! So long story short, Bixi gains a new henchman: Daphene! And don't dare call her Daffy or Daffodil, okay?
- We end the night with Zayden, Raelynn, and Howard putting on a show which WAS good, but wasn't to Hin tastes so there's that. Oh well.
- We'll see you Friday! Maybe we'll find out more about Daphene then...
Quotes of the Night
Gnome: HEY! You! You..... wizard.... yeah not a good come back I know
Howard Plum: Hey you short gnome?
Reven / Lipthink (giant sword) to Talwin: slice him!
Talwin to Reven / Lipthink (giant sword): I'm hungry. Maybe later
Session: 20221202s - 20221202c
- With nothing left to do in Bywater, we head out for the last few days (we hope) of our journey until we reach Dryads Lair.
- WAIT WAIT! Bixi needs to give Talwin the present she bought him! It's not a trap. It's DEFINITELY not a trap or a box full of glitter. At all. Don't worry. She wouldn't do that!
- Except she does, and Talwin is unamused. And dumps the rest on the ship. So now we sparkle and shine and will find glitter upon ourselves FOREVER. Lovely.
- As we sail, we talk about Bort's Beach, excrement, magical door hinges, birds and land, New Year's Eve, and something in the distance?
- While Bixi works to cook up a feast for the night, Talwin and Craigh notice something glittering in the distance ...breathing gas? Is that a dragon??
- The fishing boat in front of us discovers that, yes, yes it is. Not that any of them live to tell the tale. But why would a silver dragon breath chlorine gas and eat those with delicious elven blood within them?
- Because yeah, it's probably a green dragon in disguise. Why? We don't know, but as it flies towards Dryads Lair, we might found out later. This ...this isn't going to be part of Talwin's quest is it...?
- And yes, we do know some about green dragons for those around in 20210625 and maybe Howard and Indigo remember more from when we rescued Kenna and did a bit of knowledge digging, but otherwise, yeah. We don't know why it's glittery because it hasn't met Bixi yet.
- Anyways, yes we try to salvage the boat (upside down cow?),
and fail- You have the fishing boat in tow, just no treasure from it BOB (note to self: boat stinks not sinks), but we do hold rites for the dead. What else is there to do?
- PARTY TIME! Between Raelynn, Lanek, and the feast from Bixi, it's a great start to the New Year!
- Raelynn also does some astrology readings which are weirdly vague, but whatever, right? The future is the future. Not user error or anything here.
- Which brings us to watches. First watch with Raelynn and Youtargim comes with confusion as some specific player meant to type compatible not capable, but whatever as Youtargim finally gets his dance and his kiss. How will things progress from here?
- Second watch with Daphene and Lanek ends with Lanek being deemed a wise old man. Huh, that's a new one. Not a grouchy ass bastige (his words) or anything. Interesting.
- Third watch Indigo and Craigh talk about the dragon and fanciful dreams of teleportation.
- We end the night with a pile of dishes still unwashed, a few more days from our destination, and at least two encounters coming. See you then!
Quotes of the Night
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Oh, yeah, where is Zayden? He would have enjoyed that.
Lisa (Indigo): oiling his rods
Bixi Fizzlebang: Don't dragons want shiny things? Gold or something?
Raelynn: looks at shiny Talwin
Raelynn: Okay okay so if I carry the one...
GM: [d20 = 1]
Carissa (Raelynn): LOL yes that one
Raelynn: Daphene, it's time for watches.
Raelynn: gently wakes her
Daphene: bounces up
Daphene: Yes! I will watch everything so good!
Lanek: well yeah! don't most people want privacy?
Lanek: well then again, this crew, kinda livin up each other's butt
Session: 20221209s - 20221209c
- The day passes thankfully uneventfully bringing us to watches, and with so few of us to start, we'll just skip that first watch because why not?
- Second watch with Indigo and Daphene, and later Lanek. Also will be uneventful, right? They trade some stories and rumors and legends, and then notice it got really... cold and windy? Freak storm ...or dragon breath? Let's not wait around and find out. After waking Youtargim, the boating people successfully get the ship moving and away from the potential dragon fight we found ourselves in the middle of, safe and unharmed. Woohoo!
- Third watch with Raelynn, Bixi, Howard, and Licornah. There's a bit of ideal chitchat, some glitter lotion passed around, talks about Bixi's future housing plans, Raelynn liking kissing and kissing Youtargim (someone tell poor Howard he could be worthy competition if he wanted to be) and a tiny bit about Daphene and the Story Teller.
- The following days brings about a lot of talk about ethics and philosophy and things that I don't really want to summarize. So if that interests you, feel free to go read the chat.
- That said, the encounter is an example of it, sorta: save the bugbears we can't understand and believe the humans who say they're pirates or what?
- It is here, twice, the pirate shows his boating skills with the ship by first separating the two fighting boats and then allows us to reach who we want and stuff.
- Which is to say we save one drowning bugbear and one drowning man, but given we cannot understand the bugbear (who is as vile as the human says), we end up giving them back to their respective parties, saving some sheep for the humans, and leaving the sinking bugbear ship to its fate.
- Are we at our destination? Finally?! It looks like we might be... but find out Friday!
Quotes of the Night
BOB Bixi lives in the gnome enclave in Dragon Fen, that is where she grew up, so the last time she was near home was when you left on this trip
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Yeah, but she didn't go visit people
BOB Well would you go stop at your sister's house if you were leaving town for a few days and expect to be back soon? grin
Carissa (Raelynn): maybe she wanted to prove a point and didn't visit because her sister just doesn't think she can survive on her own and SHE'LL SHOW HER
Lanek: i mean in my line of work, once you steal somethin you gotta move it on, and the high and mighty don't get into that kinda work
Lanek: plenty of good people, but not GOOD people if you see what i'm sayin
Lanek: so you kinda go along, get along, don't make too many waves
Lemon (Daphene): lol I thought that said "too many wives" at first
BOB This is your chance Daph, to quiz the Hero about his adventures
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Who? Howard?
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Oh, wait, I got confused
Youtargim: Very true, but if we come across the widow of the captain when we get to port, what then?
Youtargim: Do we keep the boat? or give it to her?
Daphene: Ok, we can debate stealing all day, but you asked "What is murder to you?" That's quite a fucking question
Raelynn: That seems less.... ruthless than I thought pirates normally were.
Youtargim: There is a code
Youtargim: Sort of a guideline
Carissa (Raelynn): (Parley! If you demand parely...)
Carissa (Raelynn): (let's just sink both boats - problem solved!)
TMO (Craigh): very pirate of you Carissa
BOB grins with Carissa, that is sort of what Youtargim was getting at,
BOB and LOL with TMO
Carissa (Raelynn): Oh I have speak with dead so if we kill him...
TMO (Craigh): very piraty of you Carissa
BOB LOL with Carissa
BOB and HAH TMO
BOB Maybe Rae is rubbing off on Youtargim
Session: 20221216s - 20221216c
- So we finally reach Bort's Beach. FINALLY. No more river travel! We're done! Wooooo!
- Harbor Master Sune Sjogren (fancy o, not to be confused with the disease) asks us if we got the ship from Jermaine. Not Jolain or whatever her name is. Whatever. Clearly The Buttercup has a history, but what's it matter to us...?
- Harbor Master Sune also wants to make sure we're not pirate. We are not. Mostly. Except for Youtargrim. And... Raelynn? Her? A pirate? The kind that eats rats and actually like being on the water? Do you know what water and wind do to skin and hair?? Great. Thanks for giving her a sudden crisis to ruminate on.
- Anyways, we get Knotty a place to stay that isn't on the boat, are directed to Neredras Inn instead of Bort's Inn (meat over salad), and are given a brief history lesson.
- Matias Bohn (fancy o) takes us over to the inn, clearly is missing some teeth, then leaves us to do his actual job of lighting the lights at the dock.
- Mona Neredras asks us if we're vampires because we come from the Mist, accuses Raelynn (again) of being a pirate since she steals hearts (she knows), then accidentally gets gossip from Raelynn (was she referring to the hearts or...?), and gets them all food. Talk about vineyards and boxed wine (and stabbing people) follow.
- Adelbert Osten claims Bixi will owe money because her boar might attack his flock, tells us about Alexandria and her bad reputation, and then offers to take us to the lighthouse in the morning. Cheerio!
- Old Battlescar is the name of the sheriff. We haven't met them. We don't actually know if they like that nickname or not...
- We all rest, figure out transportation the next day, and head up to the lighthouse where a centaur attacks us.
- Yes, that's Alexandria. Alexandria is the Centaur. There's a lot of talking. Feel free to go read it. But in short, she agrees to train Talwin IF he can get her three fire gems from the fire swamps. Deal? Deal. Oh, but you only have a month to do it.
- Thankfully, Raelynn (and Howard?) know something about them since they grew up in the area. They're the eggs of the fire newts in the fire swamps not too far off. Easy peesy, right??
- And yes, we have a boat (not a ship) to get us there because, you know, swamps. Good luck trying to get a knarr through a swamp. Good thing we stole (borrowed? claimed?) a boat!
- So yeah, we ask some questions, don't get far, but will head out anyways to the Fire Swamps. See you in a few days!
Quotes of the Night
Mona Neredras: You are vampires!
Raelynn: First I'm a pirate. Now I'm a vampire. Do none of you have eyes??
Talwin: Bursts out laughing at Raelynn's remark
Lanek: seems like unannounced visitors ain’t welcome
Adelbert Osten: see the wise old man knows
Daphene: Lanek IS very wise
Lanek: rolls eyes and turns away
BOB But Indigo is still a little behind
Spring (Lanek): indigo HAS a little behind
Raelynn: If I'm becoming more pirate-y, is Yout becoming more... I dunno, prettier? Glittery? Elvish-y??
Talwin: I'm the Glittery. Just ask Bixi
Zayden: True, but do you WANT to write without a pinky?
Bixi Fizzlebang: No, but if it means Talwin will stop annoying me, it might be worth it
Bixi Fizzlebang: Like... it's hard to be mean to someone who sacrificed a finger for you
Session: 20221223s - 20221223c
- We start off the evening being greeted by a large human (humming?) woman named Flihisz (gesundheit!) Dungrake (I guess we know what her ancestors did for a living) welcoming us to
the town ofa fishing village in the Baroy of Fischl, where we learn a few things:- Indigo is bad with names.
- Ranger Blackmark can help us, and is in the Scalded Fish.
- If we don't return from the Fire Swamp she'll sell our boat, but if we 'do' return we'll have to pay our docking fee.
- A Lord Hightower went into the swamp 3 weeks ago and hasn't returned. She knew who King Samuel was, but called this person Lord Hightower, so *maybe* not the same person? Or maybe it is, and we have an extra rescue mission to perform
- BOB - Sam Hightower was the ward of the Prince of Dryads Lair during the groups time here during Diplomatic Entanglements, Tiberius' mother took Sam to help him, and now he is The King of Terraguard Samuel the First. There is another Lord Hightower who did go into the Fire Swamps, status unknown
- On to the Scalded Fish:
- Alexandria Pepper is too spicy for many of the group, most notably Craigh. Except Howard. He loves that stuff! And Bixi wants to try and cultivate it back home.
- We meet Bredin Blackmark, Ranger Extraordinaire, who fell in a steam pit and is now practically crippled unless he can get a Heal spell performed. Our healers look him over to see if there's anything they can do. "Yep, that's bad. Here, have some meaningless healing magic to ease the pain you're not feeling." (Because the nerves are all dead)
- Bredin educates us on the mating habits of the Fire Newt, and hwo the Firenewt Priests enable their species reproduction using Fire Gems/Eggs. Apparently Fire Gems are just Fire Eggs that haven't been inseminated.
- (*Insert Carissa breakdown and explanation here*)
- We need a map to one of these nests so we can try to obtain 3 of these Gems, and coincidentally, Bredin has one! Yay!
- Carved on a stone tablet so it doesn't burn or get ruined in water! Yay!
- How convenient! Yay!
- Oh, but he left it stashed and hidden in a salamander pool in the swamp because he was being chased! Oh no!
- And then he fell in a steam pit and nearly burnt his leg off! Oh no!
- But he remembers it was exactly 2,142 steps into the swamp from a nearby statue! Yay!
- Fortunately Craigh has an almanac that can tell us exactly how long a stride is if half your leg is burnt off and missing, and you're half crazed out of your mind with pain and shock. Yay!
- (No he doesn't) Oh no!
- We then travel a few hours into the swamp, to get Bredin's map, and our first encounter
- Daphene finds the stone statue we're looking for. And a cute little dragon crawling across it. Cue Little Red Dragonet savagely ripping into her with its teeth and spewing fire into her face. Daphene is not happy...
Quotes of the Night
Craigh: Mind if I ask a tactless question?
Bredin Blackmark: Certainly but ask away
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Oh, I like that response
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Stealing that for my real life
Craigh: Is that 2,142 regular steps, or 2,142 'staggering because half your leg has been burnt off' steps?
Bredin Blackmark: LAUGHS
Session: 20221230s - 20221230c
- Since TMO was playing life on expert mode, I'll do a quick summary for completionism sake. It ain't going to be great, but it's gonna be.
- Howard warns Talwin that the fire gems can be used to destroy intelligent swords. Such as Reven. Don't worry, this doesn't make both of them nervous at all!
- Ghost rats go to eat the carcass (we have short-term memory about camping next to carcasses, but at least it isn't ghost centipedes - no, that is NOT a suggestion, BOB).
- Besides weird Youtargim, the only thing of interest for second watch is the ghost Ing who seems to repeat anything that ends with, well, -ing. Who also sticks around for third watch.
- Yes, Talwin is now paranoid that someone may be possessed, but that's fine. It's not like he needs to be completely sane as we head off into the fire swamps! As long as he can kill the fire salamanders, that's all that matters. Really.
- And he does, and we do find where the map is, and Howard does manage to successfully grab it with some dimension door skills and a bit of dexterity. Good job, Howard! And again, this was Howard, NOT Indigo, who did that. Howard.
Quotes of the Night
Michael (Talwin): Okay. Lets protect Howard and Dimension Door. This. Holy Shit I am so embarassed and red faced
Lisa: don't worry about it
Lisa: please
Michael (Talwin): Without worrying about a non existent salamander dragging me to the bottom of an acid pool, i"m not that worried
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Yeah, don't be. At least two of us were in the same boat as you.
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Ship.
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Whatever.
Session: 20230113s - 20230113c
- We start the night with a plan because in this word, everything goes perfectly, unlike real life. We never, ever see real life unexpectedness bleed into this world. Nope. So, a plan.
- Will fire gems burn things? How will we carry them? Really, we just need to be able to carry them far enough away from whoever might chase us until we can make a better receptacle for them, yeah? Yeah.
- Weave a basket of the fire resistant plant-life? Make a skiff? A box of earth? A bucket of water or ice? Some gloves? Enough spell slots for one person to carry it? Have faith. We'll figure it out.
- We follow the map which shows us a landscape of mountains, a river, a suspicious pit of doom, and a pathway. Clearly we need to go north, but do we trust those primitive bridges?
- No so we go around the pit of doom, realize we need to cross a bridge again, and regret it. By which I mean Talwin regrets it as he falls into the water, but manages to pull himself out by the rope he's holding. Zayden only sort of regrets it as he also falls into the water, but manages to pull himself out using Talwin's magnificently sculpted calves to pull himself out.
- So yes, we go ALL the way around again. It's not that safety and caution should be ignored, but this does take time. But it also means no one falls into the giant pit of doom. Did I mention the pit of doom yet? Oh, and the weirdly warm water? And no, it's not warm because Zayden is peeing in it upstream. Well maybe, but that's not the ONLY reason.
- We eventually come to fire. Well, more fire? Fire that is somehow special and specific probably. This is a good thing, right?
- Now before we do any investigating, let's make sure there's no traps or tricks. Because we want to be cautious. A quick detect magic won't hurt, especially at a good distance, right?
- But yes, apparently that sets off three priests who appear out of nowhere. No one saw them or had ideas they were there, but what's done is done so let's kill them.
- We kill them, we may or may have alerted others (I mean mountains DO hide some sounds), and we'll just have to go with it from here.
- Go with what? We'll find out Friday!
Quotes of the Night
BOB Indigo jumped into/onto the rocks
BOB to retrieve the map
Raelynn: (Howard?)
Lisa: Howard
Carissa (Raelynn): (man even the DM is forgetting him)
Indigo: This spiral thing is weird. Wonder how they made this
Craigh: Walked in a circle probably.
Zayden: should we pee in the river? see what happens?
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Ahh, Zayden with the peeing again. I missed him.
Craigh: What is with you and peeing on things, Zayden? What did those giants do to you?
Zayden: hey it's perfectly natural Craigh
Zayden: We have to pee all the time
Talwin -> Reven / Lipthink (giant sword): ONCE IN A WHILE, MY PARANOIA IS IMPORTANT DAMMIT
BOB Howard is casting, Zayden is singing and hiding in shadows,
Carissa (Raelynn): lol maybe don't sing when you hide
TMO (Craigh): this is a quote for this week's summary: "Zayden is singing and hiding in shadows"
BOB Zayden is blind
Zayden: I can't see! Helloooo! I can't see !
Michael (Talwin): Keep Singing! You'll be just like Stevie Wonder!
Lisa: even a blind caster can make water in front of them
TMO: We have Zayden to make water. No magic needed
Lisa: zayden is blind too though not sure I want him randomly peeing all over the place
TMO: someone will have to help him
BOB This is why you do not log out early Michael
TMO: Talwin is nominated
Session: 20230120s - 20230120c
- So we do alert the village, Talwin eventually finds 5 gems by jumping into the coolest fire pit, we all run away, we kill a few fire newts that try to stop us, the blind can see again, and we make it safely away ...into the other part of the swamps.
- Yes, we still need to secure the fire gems and travel back to the fishing village, but we can worry about that next week, yes? But for now, let's get to the real summary, shall we?
Quotes of the Night
BOB and so many early quotes tonight
Carissa (Raelynn): summary will just be (mostly) quotes this week
Lisa: speaking of teleport - talwin has that teleport dart in case of emergency
Talwin: Honeslty, I've forgotten what that thing does and how I got it. How did you remember that?
Lisa: I remember everything
Lisa: because I gave it to you?
Michael (Talwin): Well, I don't want to distract, but I will look it up later. Do I just stab myself with it and am teleported somewhere?
Lisa: teleport dart will send someone teleporting randomly
Lisa: you don't want to do that to yourself!
Carissa: I dunno, maybe he wants his own different adventure
Michael (Talwin): Well thank you for that reminder Lisa! Will bob give me XP if I teleport the danger away rather then killing?
BOB I can see a case of "I am OUT OF HERE" and STAB
Carissa: "In case of emergency, stab self."
Michael (Talwin): IN case of death and want a slim chance at survival, stab self
BOB Narcan for travellers
Michael (Talwin): Sure, let's go with that
Shislif (Zayden): quck pee break brb, don't let Zay die
Carissa (Raelynn): (Sharif becomes one with his character)

Lemon (Reven / Lipthink (giant sword)): I love that Daph's nickname got longer
Carissa (Raelynn): Zayden and Daffony (Lemon's other PC) and help each other
Zayden: Daffony?
Carissa (Raelynn): Daffodilonia has many names
Lisa (Indigo): Carissa misses all the name chaning we did on Sundown ...
Talwin: [SKILL] Observation [MOD:INT] (vs. Target 13) [FAILURE by 7] [d20 = 20]
Talwin: [CHECK] Wisdom (vs. Target 5) [FAILURE by 8] [d20 = 13]
Talwin: [CHECK] Intelligence (vs. Target 13) [FAILURE by 5] [d20 = 18]
Michael (Talwin): Apprantly I sohouldl stab myself with the Teleport Dart now
Michael (Talwin): and put myself out of my misery
Lisa (Indigo): are you drunk? just spouting random stuff?
Michael (Talwin): He opened up an extra bottle in preparation for tonight
Carissa (Raelynn): He did some pre-drinking
Shislif (Zayden): lot of clay talk atm
BOB Says the person who has a lot of pee talk
Shislif (Zayden): everybody pees Bob! It's called being human :)
Zayden sits with gusto!
Daphene: Zayden, come with me, we'll go... away from the fire
Zayden: what right now?
Zayden: I'm blind!
Daphene: I'm going to lead you semewhere safe, nitwit
Daphene: grabs Zaydens hand. Not particularly gently.
Zayden: Hey that wasn't very gentle
Zayden: is this what our relationship is going to be like?
Zayden: I require a soft touch, also fyi
Michael (Talwin): I won't say anything if you dump him in the fire trench
Shislif (Zayden): it always starts with the artists :)
Youtargim: NOTHING OVER HERE he yells loudly from the fire pit
Michael (Talwin): Subtle like a Trainwreck bob
Lisa (Indigo): so one thief is singing and the other is yelling ...
Carissa (Raelynn): Great thieves here
Lemon (Daphene): Did they ever claim to be GOOD theives?
TMO (Craigh): should I start sending messages by clog-dancing?
Carissa (Raelynn): clap it out in morese code

Lisa (Howard Plum): each gem is 2 ft long????
Lemon (Daphene): There's no way creatures this small lay eggs that big.
Lemon (Daphene): How big are these newts?
BOB man sized Firenewts
Lemon (Daphene): And they lay two foot eggs.
Lemon (Daphene): Ok, sure.
Carissa (Raelynn): Eggs don't work like that...
BOB I did not say they lay them
Carissa (Raelynn): C-section???
BOB I said they take Fire Gems and then inseminate them, then they hatch them
Raelynn: And where do fire gems come from, Bob?? My parents didn't cover this part of *the talk*
BOB That is another adventure
Carissa (Raelynn): I'll pass on that adventure
Carissa (Raelynn): BUT GOOD NEWS
Raelynn: I did my math wrong!
BOB TMO's fault
Carissa (Raelynn): Always is.
BOB and Talwin is out
Lemon (Daphene): I mean he's got three, so if we HAVE to abandon the rest then we're still successful
BOB Talwin shows up in Drakeshead, Here are your three gems, I do not know what happened to the rest of my group
Lemon (Daphene): lol, I didn't mean abandon the people, I meant abandon the other two relics
Michael (Talwin): Well, in the Spirit of Zayden (need to go pee. BRB)
Zayden: But then he "developed a relationship" with the maitre de
Zayden: if you catch my drift
Zayden: and this was largely frowned upon by the purveyors
Howard Plum: That is sad for him
Zayden: Oh it was, but they checked me to see if I had anything to do with it!
Zayden: Like I'm some kind of pimp or something, the nerve
Shislif (Zayden): ohhh gotta check the oven brb
Howard Plum: Ohhh. What happened?
User has gone AFK. (Shislif)
Lisa (Howard Plum): cliffhanger!
Zayden: I just got my sight back can i take a moment?
Zayden: sing a song?
Raelynn: NO!
Zayden: ugh
Zayden: fine let run!
Lisa (Indigo): and we only killed 7 newts
TMO (Craigh): almost one-for-one ratio
Lisa (Indigo): no more newts is good newts
Session: 20230127s - 20230127c
- Well this was a very important night. Where to start? Always from the beginning, I suppose. And that would be when the dragonette talks to us and Raelynn instantly tries to make friends with it.
- The small dragonette wants to know why we're taking things out of the swamp. It's not nice to steal and everything, and the dragonette is protective of its swamp. Raelynn (Team Peace) tries and succeeds to kind of charm it and reason with it. They also name swap.
- Vatra, the Small Dragonette, and Soon to be Friend, gets a good look at the party with tasty Indigo (Team Murder), smart Howard (Team Neutral), brave Talwin (Team Murder), and did you notice how tasty Indigo looks??
- Anyways, there's some good back and forth you can read yourself. We do summarize lightly on why we need the gems before we get to the meat (ha) of the issue: what are we going to give in return for those gems?
- Here we find out that Howard is worth at least five fire gems so that's nice, right? And the rest of us (minus Talwin) are only worth two fire gems TOTAL. Ouch.
- Talwin gets tired of this dragonette trying to claim people and flings the Teleport Dart at it. And misses. Thank goodness Raelynn is here to smooth things over, right? It's an offer. Promise. He wasn't ACTUALLY trying to hit you!
- With Talwin and Indigo getting ready for combat, Zayden (Team Peace) suggests we sing a song because every moment calls for one, right? And... well, he's right. It makes the slightly bigger dragonette a bit calmer and not wanting to attack us. Yet.
- Possibly because he sees that Team Peace is making better headway, Talwin swallows his pride and offers one dragon breath potion per fire gem (Yellow, Mist, Mercury, Bronze, Crystal). And Vatra also accepts Raelynn's offer of Glittery Lotion Potion.
- Did you know Vatra is actually an old, LARGE red dragon? Neither did we until Vatra reveals themselves to us. Why else would we know that? Good thing Team Peace won out!
- So Fierce Vatra, the Mysterious and Powerful is actually Fierce Vatra, the Mysterious and MOST Powerful (and Glitteriest?). With that extra knowledge, we are certain even more willing to negotiate. For reasons.
- Talwin wants to know how we missed Vatra earlier as we absolutely would have preferred to just talk to Vatra first to which Vatra wants to know who misled us about who lived in the swamp.
- Long and slightly confusing story short, we tell Vatra about Bredin and trade the Teleport Dart (that we'd never have gotten back) for his life. Probably. Maybe? And rather than claim they'll hunt us in two days, we are sort of allowed to come back to visit provided we're super subservient to Vatra. Is it just me or does this sound like the start of a beautiful friendship??
- Vatra lets us go after we hand over the potions and tell what the dart does. Success! We didn't die and Raelynn made a new friend!
- Oh, and slight time jump backwards to how we secure the gems?
- As in, while we wait for Michael to reconnect, we figure this out since he's not as important here. Something, something, clay and backpacks, and success.
- So we make it back to inn after a brief existential crisis by Talwin.
- We do briefly fill Bredin in on what the haps, but while Talwin does offer him a job and probable safety in Dragon Fen, the ranger is noticeably overwhelmed and says he doesn't want to go. We'll let you think on it, okay?
- Craigh loses a bet with Howard about how much Talwin was going to yell during that conversation as we did try to figure out if Bredin was malicious or just ignorant.
- Bixi and Zayden start writing a Rock Opera about the events of the day. We all can't wait to see how it turns out. Also Zayden dubs Talwin as The Disrespector.
- Craigh gives Talwin a bit of advice (and finishes his thoughts at that link).
- Raelynn contemplates the new friend she definitely made and how a dragon now has one of her glitter lotion potions. Will she become famous and rich? It's quite an endorsement.
- And we leave it there for the night with any business needing to be finished to be done now where we head back to Borts Beach and Alexandria next week. See you then!
Quotes of the Night
BOB It is possible to get out with all the gems, it is possible for all of you to die tonight
Lisa (Howard Plum): it is possible to get hit by a swamp bus too
Raelynn: Raelynn! It's nice to meat you.
Carissa (Raelynn): *meet
Carissa (Raelynn): *MEET
Michael (Talwin): *meet
Michael (Talwin): context here
Vatra - Small Dragonette: I like Meat
Carissa (Raelynn): DON'T MAKE THAT A PUN
Michael (Talwin): (What's the dudes name?)
Michael (Talwin): (He didn't say a dragon lived here)
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): He gave us a map, we can't throw him under the bus!
Michael (Talwin): (I'm fine killing that fucker)
Indigo: We were coming before we saw him
Vatra - giagantic Red Dragon: So you are saying that you owe me an additional offering
Michael (Talwin): Let's stop talking to the dragon
Talwin: Oh my gods
Talwin: Indigo!
Talwin: Is this....for us????
Talwin: Is this just....another day at the office?
Raelynn: And here I was about to compliment him for staying sane.
Zayden -> Bixi Fizzlebang: besides, he's been disrespecting so long he's earned an honorary doctorate from To Be Determined
Zayden -> Bixi Fizzlebang: Just "Disrespector" or "Dr. Disrespectore"?
Zayden -> Bixi Fizzlebang: you know actually
Zayden -> Bixi Fizzlebang: at the time, he said "I'm the Disrespector!" not "I'm not Dr. Disrespector"
Bixi Fizzlebang -> Zayden: story over accuracy!
Bixi Fizzlebang -> Zayden: Reality isn't relevant
Indigo: We found your map!
Bredin: Can I have it back?
Raelynn: What will you use it for?
Raelynn: Because I don't think we can help you rob our new friend.
Indigo: looks at Raelynn like she is crazy
Bredin: What new friend?
Indigo: We don't have a friend
Raelynn: I have a friend!
Talwin: She does not
Raelynn: frowns
Talwin: How many people can say they stood before such a creature and lived?
Talwin: Rae wasn't wrong
Talwin: I mean
Talwin: She wasn't right, it's not her Friend, whatever she says
Talwin: But, it was fierce, majestic, and all sorts of other fine attributes
Session: 20230203s - 20230203c
- Site problems hopefully in the past (ha!), let's do a quick catch-up summary here.
- We're back at the inn, eating some ...fasincatingly prepared eggs, discussing what type of place Dragon Fen is, what city is better, and seek to get the final decision from Bredin.
- Raelynn does ask him for more information on Vexatran. Is it Vatra? Maybe. The dragon he knows likes talking to people and once when she ate some lizardmen chasing him.
- Anyways, the only thing Bredin wants is to get into the Grand Celestry to maybe get him healed. Could we do that? Howard might be able to, being the secret noble among the group and all. Well maybe not that secret, depending who you ask, but the one who changed his last name for a reason.
- Either way, Bredin has a ring that stops undead from touching him as an offer: for us or for the Grand Celestry. We'll see what price he has to pay. I feel like we've done enough favors for him by now.
- We make our way back to Drakeshead and immediately to Alexandria because this isn't a time to wait with gems that might stop being fire or something.
- They discuss if grass makes a salad, Reven pisses of Talwin, and then we meet Alexandria.
- Did you see this coming? Alexandria questions Talwin and demands he make a decision: release Reven from the sword or keep him. What will he choose?
- There's quite a bit of emotional back and forth this summary will not summarize well so, once again, I'll just point you to the story chat.
- As so, Lipthink Reven the Viking Warrior and Protector is freed from the sword, back to haunt Talwin another day, but first he needs to go check on his family - being a ghost and all.
- They stay the night, eat a good dinner, eat a good breakfast, toast to Reven, and end on a happy note.
- Makes your plans now, though, because it's gonna take quite some time to train up Talwin. We'll be here for awhile. A good time for carousing, eh?
Quotes of the Night
Indigo: I guess if Branwyn could be friends with Jennevive then Raelynn could like a dragon ...
Raelynn: Drinking? This early in the morning?
Indigo: Better than salads!
Talwin: A simple toast would not be out of the question
Raelynn: I don't understand you people.
Zayden: did somebody say drinks?
Talwin: The best thing is that you don't have too, but we always have your back
Alexandria: Tell me, do you want to be encased inside a sword to live for hundreds of years, forced to do what who ever picks you up demands you do?
Indigo: Me? No!
Zayden: not it!
Session: 20230210s - 20230210c
- This session is mostly planning out training, updating the sheets of characters who leveled up, and a teeny tiny bit of playing in the form of wrapping up the conversation between Branwyn and Jennevive which is happening back home.
Session: 20230217s - 20230217c
- We're in squishy time where the points don't matter. It'll all be stitched together later, yeah?
- So any stories can happen in this timeframe. Go hog wild.
- This also means that it is roughly earlier in their stay the Branwyn and N'laea with Jennevive, Earl Bolpel, and Agatha Finefur from this story come to visit.
- The conversations tonight are really just summaries, introductions, and all that.
- So we have a very rough sort of plan to break into the library, Branwyn is now aware of the existence of Fives, and really there isn't much else to say for the moment.
Quotes of the Night
Michael (Talwin): Hey bob. Dumb question, but our current group (the dragonslayers today) are doing the desert story right?
Lisa: Indigo wants to do the dessert story :P
N'laea: That is good to know. So (Jennevive) is going to hell as well?
Branwyn: I hope so
Lisa: we don't have any greek priests
Carissa: ....yet
Lisa: no more priests!
Jennevive: Children are chaotic
Jennevive: perhaps Red and I should have
Michael (Talwin): that's a thought best left unexplored :)
TMO (Craigh): Talwin's like, 350 lbs, so he goes nowhere by teleport
Carissa (N'laea): unless naked
Michael (Talwin): LOL
Michael (Talwin): I remember bare clothes and no armor. That sucked
TMO (Craigh): where would he stash his sword though?
Michael (Talwin): Bend over and I'll show you
Michael (Talwin): Oh shoot I'm so sorry
Michael (Talwin): That might be taken the wrong way
BOB LOL
Carissa (N'laea): LOL
TMO (Craigh): is there a right way?
Lisa (Branwyn): lol
Carissa (N'laea): not sure the right way??
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): I'm sorry WHAT
Michael (Talwin): Chistmas Vacation Reference
Michael (Talwin): my bad
Session: 20230224s - 20230224s
- Another easy summary. Isn't it nice being in squishy time? Let's look at some magic items, first.
- The rope Craigh has? Rope of Entanglement +1 with a command word to knot and unknot it. Well that's fancy and simple! Have fun, Craigh!
- The fancy Elven Quiver for N'laea? The "Quiver of Credit" (per Michael) also know as "What the hell is this math?" (per me). After much mathiness, it is decided that it comes with 12 arrows and any deficit must be replenished. As a bonus, she gets a single +1 arrow per combat. Now, for all my math snark, I'm leaning towards agreeing with TMO on how to think of this in negatives and trying to get back to zero each time. Anyways, point being, she'll just carry her normal quiver and this one and not have to worry about math unless it's a big battle. Deal? Deal.
- The Ring of Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey? It gives a +1 against creatures born after the wearer (great for a time mage, but may or may not give Branwyn existential dread about getting old when it becomes more and more useful for her). And she knows that she does not know something or something? Anyways, yes, maybe we do need to try to séance the mage? He doesn't know Branwyn (and mages sometimes like mages), and while Raelynn was offended by him, her beauty definitely caught his attention multiple times and she wasn't around when he was murdered (nor had say in it - still wish we'd used that nice ring), so maybe there's a chance of success to get more information out of the dead? One way to find out...
- So yes, that was nice. We discovered things! Nothing else to identify while we can, right?
- Now to the reason we have gathered here tonight: to steal a library book. Okay okay return it to its original library which isn't technically stealing or something. I don't know. I'm not the librarian here.
- After making sure we have someone to pay bail if needed, a group of us teleports to the library and the aging Illporn who really needs to consider a name change or a new hobby.
- Lots of back and forth, as per expectations, and a librarian who feels it is his job to keep a stolen library book safe? Because legalities are less important than keeping a (very valuable) book safe. Anyways, some arguing, attempts at persuasion, and all that finally gets The Librarian of Ill Repute to agree to give us the book provided we give him a copy in return (as only Branwyn can currently read it) and guarantees this with a curse acting as a geas spell to ensure this happens.
- Oh, he also gives Craigh a very nice paying job to do while we're all hanging out in Dryads Lair at the moment. Go Craigh!
- So with that done, we have decisions to make on how we want to split this party. I'm still not sure if that was decided in full? But whateves, we got time until next Friday to iron out any wrinkles that might still remain. See you then!
Quotes of the Night
Branwyn: slams her hand on the desk
Branwyn: Illporn. That book is here on Inter Library Loan from Hell and the originating library wants their damned book back
Michael: Coughing becase I am laughing in pain
Michael: Goddamn that was good
Michael: Please save this quote
Michael: please
Branwyn: Thank you but the Librarian is correct that I am not significant in comparison to the leaders of Terraguard. I recognize that
Bixi Fizzlebang: He just doesn't know how powerful you really are
Bixi Fizzlebang: You are really selling yourself short here
Lemon (Bixi Fizzlebang): Coming from the shortest person in the room, that should mean something
Librarian Illporn: Thank you, I am certain you will try but I do not trust that you will return from Hell to return this book or its copy after your trip
Branwyn: There is no place I have ever gone that I have not returned from and I don't intend to start now
Session: 20230303s - 20230303c
- After experience a weekend of Hell, let's get this summary down short and sweet.
- We talk a bit at dinner, a chest arrives, Jennevive freezes the Jesper Rinnan the messager, we eventually open the chest while Jennevive goes to bath and: GLITTER BOMB.
- Oh, and Branwyn got a scroll with a red ribbon and the rest of us got white ribbon scrolls with invites to dinner with Mr. Silver, but um, when?
- The group splits, but um, do the groups know why they split? Did they say goodbye? Licornah didn't say why she left with the others that I'm aware, but that's what IC is for or Site IC.
- We meet Fives in Rivers Bend. We talk Hell things. We eventually convince him to join us and teach N'laea the language of demons (devils?) or whatever.
- So yeah, that probably sums it up? Make your list for what the Loosend people want to do.
Quotes of the Night
Talwin: Surely she can't be bathing NOW
Talwin: She just left!
Talwin: How likely do you think this trip ends with me dead?
Talwin: Because, if I hurry....
Sessions: 20230317s - 20230331s - 20230317c - 20230331c
- Long story short, life is shit right now so let's just combine the summaries and get this done.
- We'll start off with the main group as the others are just kind of doing background stuff.
- We're back in the graveyard, we think we were set-up by the old lady, we can't find the grave of the little girl nor does Raelynn successfully find her ghost or a helpful ghost for that matter. Oh well. We move on.
- We run across the cave that used to hold Owlbears. There are no more Owlbears, but an entrepreneur who sells quills and flowers, no glitter. Oh well. We buy things. We move on.
- Now let's do a quick 360 to the past and chitter chatter and planning(??).
- We discover the Fives isn't fully human. He's a devilkin. The Mist hates him. He hates Jenn. Moving on.
- Jenn offers to bring Hell *to* us if that sounds like a good plan to Branwyn. Does it?
- The End. Moving on to next week. See you then?
Quotes of the Night
(feel free to fill this in yourselves)
Session: 20230407s - 20230407c
- And here we are plagued with lag, and an unhappy program, and try our best to roleplay which is difficult to do when it takes a minute for a reply to come through.
- We start at Dragon Fen, where Lisa is again plagued with the idea of doing something called "planning" which, meh. We can do some experimenting, at least, right? Well, maybe when FG is feeling a bit better.
- There is also some talk about church building, and all the churches built, of Jilly going but not going to Hell, and something about a mysterious shadow eating lambs. Let's be honest, though. They probably lost more lambs to lambing season than to predators. Farming is hard, but it is what it is.
- N'laea has no ideas why Jilly mentioned the shadow to her. Birds will be birds, ammiright?
- Back to the other group who have finally entered the Mist and are almost home.
- Youtargim is feeling a bit melancholy about the adventure almost ending, asks what the others plan when they return home, and makes general chitchat.
- We do our best, but again, hard to make general chitchat when you have to wait to see if someone is even replying to you or not. Thanks, FG.
- Bob thinks he's fixed the problems and hopefully we'll have better luck next week as we wrap things up.
Quotes of the Night
BOB That is weird, when she logged off the Unauthorized player error popped up again
BOB She's a DOPPELGANGER!!!!!
TMO (Craigh): The Guilty Party!
